angel97701- I hope your family gets better quickly! Today's QOTD- I used to handwrite on my LOs, but I'm not a fan of it. I've tried to do typing only in my PL this year, but it can be a pain for me and is leaving LOs unfinished. I prefer typing since I can get more on the pages without it taking up the space. I had no time for crafting this weekend- parties and farm work for me! I'm hoping to get some done today, but we'll see...too much to get done lately. I am working on my kids albums (from the beginning!) so I have those projects in mind to get into, along with this year's PL and my ODS's Camp mini album. I think I've taken too much on, but I often like project jumping to keep interest.

FurryP - love those cards - they are super cute and I like how the embellishments form little vignettes.

Night one was pretty miserable, thankful for OTC meds, which advil can be taken every 4 hours. My body let me know when the fours hours were done, and woke me up. Checked online for drug interactions, all good for multiple meds.
Taking it easy today, but accomplished one really big thing on my list! Our business took out a PPP loan on the suggestion of our CPA. It will be coming due this month. I tried having the CPA firm do the forgiveness application, but turns out I could do in under 10 minutes online with the help of a telephone banker who walked me through the screens. As the loan was under the huge $$$ amount I didn't have to attach any paperwork! WAHOO!
Simple chores, and tiny bit of crafting, now time for a nap!

QOTDs (out of order):
- I pea probably 90% on my laptop and 10% on the phone while I am in wait mode. I like having elbow room.
- Not really a holiday, but a season: I like crafting Spring because the papers are bright and cheery. Summer would be next for the same reason. I think the holidays are only my favorite for a paid day off. So I like ALL the holidays!
- I don't particularly like my handwriting. It starts out neat, but if I write too much it starts to get sloppy.

Good afternoon Paper Posse! We recently had an intruder alert on the Cut ‘n Pasters gossip (Don’t worry FurryP, we won’t tell anyone it was you!). No need for undercover ops, feel free to come by and say hello!

QOTD I don’t like my writing so I normally wouldn’t hand write on my LOs.
I’ve always been jealous of people with nice handwriting

QOTD I do like my handwriting, but have to go very slow both with cursive and printing. If I have along story to tell, it the computer for me!
Nice little rest, but no sleep. It seems IF I try to do nothing I feel better, but as soon as I get up and going body says NOPE. Guess I should listen to my body.

angel97701 - yes - listen to your body and rest so you can heal. I know it's hard when you're the one doing, doing, doing but you'll be able to sooner if you rest now

QOTD- what kind of paper-crafts are you doing? traditional scrapbooks? mini-books? traveller's notebooks? journalling? planners? cards? PL/Pocket albums? digital? hybrid? something else or some combination?
I primarily do traditional scrapbooks (8.5x11) with the occasional 8x8 (at the moment, DD15's Girl Scout album is the only 8x8 in progress and Girl Scouts is on summer hiatus). I do make simple cards but don't really think of myself as a cardmaker.

Answer QOTD: I spend 95% of my crafting time doing cards. I seem to be stuck in this rut and can't break back out of it. It gets my creative itch scratched for the day and and I enjoy it, but I'll never work my way through my craft stash just making cards. I do have several scrapbooks in various states of progress. My July goal, as you know, is Just Finish July, and I'd like to get my family scrapbooks for 2020 and 2021 done this month. Most of the pages are made (I just do one a month that features something fun we did that month along with corresponding memorabilia). I just need to get pictures on, memorabilia gathered and documented responsibly, and journaling done. I'd also like to be up to date on the first six months of 2022 before July is over. I have my wedding scrapbook that if I recall correctly only needs another maybe 10 pictures printed and inserted (card style album in 8x8). I got married almost 10 years ago. Would really like to get that off my in progress shelf. I took a vacation in 2011 where I started the album by doing pages in Close to My Heart's old Studio J program and inserting the prints - and then they dropped Studio J. So I need to finish it via traditional scrapbooking (12x12) and also get that off of my in progress shelf. I somewhat recently did complete my son's mini album for his third grade year, so I do remember how to scrapbook. It's like riding a bike, right? I don't know why I can't seem to make the shift back into primary scrapbooking. I have about 1000 cards tagged under various categories on Pinterest and some nights I just choose one and create my own version.

QOTD (that I missed): I love to write on my layouts/tags in my pocket pages. I used to type but began to write. I do add lines with a pencil though so it is straight.
QOTD (today): I still make occassional traditional layouts but in a 9x12 format. Other than that I moved on to pocket page layouts and love it! I have made mini books. I have a planner but dont scrap in it. I have also made digital cards for my pocket pages.

Shimelle said "learn to love your handwriting" so I did. Part of my motivation was the special feeling I get when I see a departed loved one's handwriting. If I take my time it's not too bad but if I hurry it is horrible. For 12x12 pages I often type just to fit it in the space.
Every month I do Project Life/Pocket Pages for the month. When I'm feeling creative and crafty I embellish, get out the stamps, make my own die cuts, mat the pictures, add stickers or bling. Lately no creativity - pictures placed in pockets with captions really. On the 12x12 layout side, this board has really helped me document events in a fuller way. I can never think what to do with a photo, but if one of you posts a challenge I try to meet it. The result is pages in albums. I love cardmaking.

Even little notes. Well the more recent ones, anyway. Before that I didn't know how emotionally valuable they were. Now I treasure every single one that I did save. And my mom's writing was kind of messy, and I don't even care.

QOTD Mostly cards recently to keep up with DT obligations, and now I can switch back to my love of 12 x 12 layouts, usually double pages. But the occasional mini-album will make it into the mix.
So miserable today, headache behind the eyes, but did watch 3 videos.
I wonder if taking off stuff from DS#1's letter jacket so DS#2 can wear it counts as other crafts? DS#2 earned a varsity letter this year as a mentor (or maybe as a special ed athlete we are not sure) for the Speical Olympics multi-sports team. DS#1 never really cared about having the jacket and so we have re-purposed it for DS#2. He may actually wear it. Last name is the same, letter looks the same, etc. Just needed to remove the grad year, the soccer ball with #, and wrestling weight the younger DS did not ever wrestle at in HS. Also removed the first name, had to open the lining seem to get that completely off. It is the one thing I got done today . . . other than name, make my own lunch, and come visit peas!
You know you are sick when you don't even feel well enough to watch crafty videos! Hope this is over soon!

angel97701 - I hope you're starting to feel better. Great idea to re-purpose the jacket if DS1 doesn't care - will you be doing a shadowbox or something with his letter etc... FurryP - I do treasure the few pieces I have with my Granny and Daddy's handwriting. My mum left SO much handwritten things that we haven't kept them all - scanned yes, kept no. There are still abundent examples of her writing. QOTD - which of this quarter's challenges are you most excited to tackle? And which one did you look at and know right off wasn't for you? Monochromatic and Cardstock only are definitely up my alley as is the July Donna challenge. Splattering ink or paint on the other hand, pretty sure I won't get points for that one.

Linda, I need to get better at scanning and not keeping too much. You want to know what else I treasure in a backwards sort of way? Both my parents (they were divorced) kept every card I made them. Birthday, Christmas, father/mother's day, all that kind of stuff. When I found them after they passed, I snatched them right up. Good thing is that I was not consistent with every holiday, every year, so their stack is not that big. Some I barely remember making. I'm thrilled to have those.

Love that you’re repurposing the jacket and congrats to your son for earning a varsity letter! Thanks! There is a very long complicated story behind it all, suffice it to say DS#1 was very athletically talented, earned 9 varsity letters in three years, 4 in wrestling, 3 in soccer, and 2 in track & field. Due to his underlying issues (adopted at age 10 from Russia) of RAD and addiction he has to yet really reach the potential that he could have achieved. In one way it was sad to take off his name, etc.But we are very glad the DS#2 can wear it legitimately. He does play soccer, wrestle, and lacrosse. But most likely will never have the talent his brother had due to processing and executive functioning delays. They are bio brothers adopted at the same time 6 1/2 years apart in age. Extreme neglect, addiction on the part of their birth parents.

QOTD - which of this quarter's challenges are you most excited to tackle? And which one did you look at and know right off wasn't for you?Yes I plan to do a shadow box for DS#2 letter and assorted patches. Hopefully he will graduate and I can display at his grad party? Not being pessimistic, just realistic for DS#2. If you are women who pray, please pray with me he will avoid the pitfalls of addiction especially once he is 18 . . . it is before he graduates! As far as challenges, I already have the splatter done and have to go see which one I probably won't earn points for, most likely the recipe ones even though they usually have great ideas! Covid brain at work here!
I did get a card done last night in record time! I won't be able to share it because it's another DT project for Imagine that will go live sometime in September. I should go share the ones that have already gone live on their blog. The one project I finished earlier this week took 6+ hours to get it to what I felt was the right quality for DT work. This one came together in less than 90 minutes. DH even likes it. Now I have all my DT projects done ahead of time (my JFF Retro Rubber) and Imagine, so the rest of the summer is mine to play as I like!
Time to recheck the challenges.
Today's covid update, still fatigued, not as bad as yesterday, but dizzy. Of course deep cough and tiny headache. Just not fun being sick in the summer!

It's been a long busy week. My officemate was on vacation which was amazing (she's annoying and noisy) but it meant more work for me. I met an old friend for lunch this week which was a real treat. My supervisor found out today he has covid. He was in the office Tuesday but woke up Wednesday not feeling well & tested and got the results today. It's discouraging that his 3 at home rapid tests were negative and if his wife didn't make him go for a PCR test, he would have been in the office all week not knowing. Fortunately, he works to himself and has a private office so there was no real exposure in the office. I'm going to print out the challenges now and do some scrapping while I watch big brother live feeds. It's a guilty pleasure that consumes a good chunk of my summer. QOTD catch-up: I probably post from a computer (desktop or laptop) most of the time but I'll read and make quick posts from my phone or ipad. Most of my journaling is handwritten but I will type out a story that's really long. My handwriting is ok - I found a pen I love writing with and I feel like it makes my handwriting look better. ha! (Pilot G-2 pen) 12x12 layouts are my jam. I dabble with cardmaking and smaller formats for gifts or something but that's about it. I have to look over the challenges but in general sketch/scraplift type challenges are my favorites and really struggle with anything color based. angel97701 - I hope you're feeling better.

Hello all, dropping back in here after forgetting the thread was here Answering some of the QOTD: I pea on my phone or ipad at night in bed (and sometimes in the mornings), but if I'm commenting on a thread then I'm almost certainly on my laptop. I'm another who learnt to touch type and even with the swipe predictive text I struggle with how wordy I am vs how slow it is to type on the phone/ipad. We don't really do cards for a lot of the holidays that the US peas seem to celebrate, so Christmas cards are really the only one I make cards for. I don't really consider myself a card maker, although I can pull something together when I need to. I have started writing more often on my layouts, mostly because I'm trying to use up some of my stash of pocket cards, many of which have lines on them that would be difficult to read printed text over. I prefer typed because I typically have more to say than I can fit into the space I have and like being able to edit before I print to get all the important stuff in. I also find I tend to write really small on my pages which makes it difficult to read. I mostly scrap 12x12 pages/pocket pages, with 6x8 at Christmas or for small vacations although I've dabbled in other sizes and formats over the years. I'd really like to try the 8x10 size but don't have a project in mind, and don't love the linen album AE offered enough to buy it just because. I guess I'm hoping she comes out with a pattern I can't resist then I'll have to work out what to put in it. I haven't even looked at the challenges for the quarter and I typically don't as I just claim the easy peasy points.

My absolute last is still in the mail but the last I received was my Pinkfresh grab box and yes - I did make one layout using it already

QOTD: my last purchase was in June which was a preorder that won’t ship until sept/Oct.
I’ve been pretty frozen for the past year so my last order before that was in April 21 which was a 6x8 pad that’s mostly used up and some thickers with a lot left.

Popping in to say Hello! And answer the last few QOTD I hate my handwriting. But I use it on my layouts because it's easier than doing computer journaling. I do computer journaling if I have a lot to say. 12x12 has my heart, but I've been playing around with pocket pages and a 6x8 album. I will also give TN's a try soon. Older stories I tend to do 8.5x11 for some weird reason lol. Probably because there is more story than photos in those cases. My last purchase was yesterday on a cricut Joy. And yes, I did use it once I got it home. Played around with it anyway lol. Before that it was the Pinkfresh box and I've already used some of that as well. Typically, I put things away without using them first but I'm making an effort to use right away all those things I HAD to have. I see lots of challenges I'm excited about - mostly the ones that give points for things that have been sitting unused. The one I probably won't do is the animal icon. Although you never know right?
