QOTD Last purchase was in July when I went to visit my Mom. She has a fantastic mixed media art/ scrapbook/ stamping store less than 10 minutes from her house. I bought some Oahu paper, 4th of July paper and one die, Squared on opposite corner, and oval on the the other two.
I'm still in recovery. We are still trying to leave for MN soon! Might go tomorrow, and stay in isolation across the country in the motor home. My last fever was now 5 days ago, but I am still really fatigued. I have all my personal stuff loaded including my scrap happiness stuff. Just have the dry good and frig to pack.
I even figured out how to use the laptop with my iCloud photo account and the PSE that I bought for the PC. Downloaded the driver so I can print on my Epson PM400. YEAH me! It was my goal while I had my reliable internet at home. So my go to projects, if I have the time, can be done at the cabin.

QOTD -are you a messy crafty or are you a put away as you go sort?
I clean up after every layout UNLESS I'm working on a project with multiple layouts using the same materials (Christmas or Lego for example)

I clean up after every layout UNLESS I'm working on a project with multiple layouts using the same materials (Christmas or Lego for example) I'm pretty much the same way. I'll straighten up between layouts but put things away if I am changing projects.

I tidy up the family room after working on a project there. I leave things on my craft table/storage area upstairs and do a clean up every now and then.
I just got my Stampin' Up July catalog items yesterday so today I'm working on a shaker card with the Snowman Magic dies.

jjpeapea - looking forward to seeing your snowman shaker! How is everyone doing? Is summer a crafty season or a making memories season for you? For me, a bit of both. I'm currently organising the photos from DH and DD15's visit to Virginia to see DD22 and DS30 and next week my sister and BIL visit for almost 2 days

But I have to put things away when I finish because of my nosy cat lol. It is nice and more inviting to come to a clean, ready to go table though.

Some more QOTD answers:
I think the last thing I bought was the SG sketch class, and I'm half way through the first layout so yes, I have started using it. I think the last physical thing I bought was an order from sb.com and I've already used things from that order too. I typically leave my new embellishment/tool purchases out until I've used them at least once, then I'll put them into my stash. It's a habit I got into to make sure I actually use the things I buy.
I think I'm a pretty tidy crafter. I definitely clean up after each layout, and even if I leave a layout partially done, I'll still put away anything I think I'm finished with. I don't have a particularly large scrap desk, so keeping it tidy means I have space to create.
Summer and winter are both crafty seasons for me. Today has been cold and windy and wet, while summer it's often too hot to do anything except hide out in the air conditioning.

QOTD -are you a messy crafty or are you a put away as you go sort? I clean up after every layout UNLESS I'm working on a project with multiple layouts using the same materials (Christmas or Lego for example) Well in general I am messy UNTIL I am ready to go through it all to get to the bottom, like I did earlier this month. Now I will stay on the put away as you go sort. Actully it's mostly just paper scraps that stay messy, everything else gets put away. Right now I am in MN at the cabin!!!!! We started driving on Monday afternoon, arrived Wednesday afternoon. Had errands for the boat (license & registration), then other errands like moving the huge black monster couch to the storage unit. Today DH took DS fishing for several hours. I had time for a 1 hour dog walk, lunch on my own, texting with a friend whose sister had brain tumor surgery on Thursday THEN finally some crafting time. I brought a stack of page kits that have photos for most of the layouts, but others need more photos to finish. I have finally figured out how to use PSE on the PC and import directly from my iCloud photos to print what I want. Yippee for me. Pick photos and printed them for the week 1 of Scrapbook Generals 4 x 6 class. I brought my Hawaii paper and a very limited amount of supplies. So hopefully I will keep up with the class. But I get to count 4 hours of craft time today. Yea me! After dinner walk, and then because we can a quick boat ride, the our lift and dock on the association dock makes it a matter of seconds to get the boat underway. This is the Lake Life. I definitely have lake hair tonight!

Is summer a crafty season or a making memories season for you? It is very much a make memories season for me! I am currently adjusting to the idea of capturing my own memories and not everyone else's since the kids are all grown and it changes what I have for the scrapbooks. I do celebrate rainy/stormy days in the summer when I can craft however! QOTD -are you a messy crafty or are you a put away as you go sort? I have very limited desk space and a huge stash in a tiny space. I have to put stuff away as I go or I have no room to work! Even if I had a huge bench/counter to work on, I'd still put stuff away after each layout - it's how my brain works - clean as you go. QOTD last purchase: I picked up 5 inks, the cocoa vanilla Storyteller collection/puffy stickers, and a few pages of the Heidi Swapp Sun Chaser collection on Tuesday before we left town. The inks: 1. distress oxide uncharted mariner - I thought I didn't need it but it is DIFFERENT and much more teal than I expected and I LOVE it 2. distress oxide ground espresso - have this in regular distress, and don't have a decent brown so got this one 3. The Stamp Market cobalt - OMG, my new ink crush - this colour is the perfect deep bright blue. Love the ink and ink pad too, very similar to Catherine Pooler's 4. Taylored Expressions ink CUBE in cupcake - I want a really light but bright pink. A pale bubblegum. This is NOT it. I'm very disappointed in the ink pad and formulation too. Subpar, and my only regret of the inks I purchased. Thank goodness, I only bought the cube! 5. Catherine Pooler Deck the Halls - have needed a deep dark Christmas green and this will work well. It's maybe not as bright as I wanted, but it fits the niche. And I adore her inks and ink pads already so I knew it would be good.

yay for new inks kitbopI think I'm coming down with something - sore throat and a headache and a bit of a cough setting in. This is not a good week to get sick with house guests expected on Wednesday. Dh has been sick since he got back from his trip - he's finally feeling better today - and I'm guessing he shared. He did test negative twice for covid but I'll probably test anyway just to be on the safe side.

Awww, Linda, that stinks. I hope you test negative and feel better soon! kitbop, thanks for sharing your reviews about the inks and ink pads in your answer to the recent purchase QOTD. I still have not ordered the Uncharted Mariner ink(s), partly because I "need" several other colors and am still undecided as to what exactly I will get. I just reorganized my inks (and made some new swatches) and so I have a good idea of the colors I don't have, just not sure which types/brands to get. Your mini-reviews really help - very timely!

Recent QOTD answers:
1) I bought some boring paper organizers and adhesive. (Boring in the sense that they are not actual fun new papers/embellishments to use on pages, but interesting to me as one helps me organize my final stack of "homeless" paper, and the other allows me to stick things down when I do get back to making pages instead of endless organizing, LOL!) 2) I am mostly a "clean as you go" scrapper, although if I'm working on a particular project where the pages have a similar theme (e.g., Christmas), I tend to keep the paper scraps out on the desktop for most of the duration of that project. I keep them piled on one side of the desk (it's a manageable sized stack) so I can dig through them to get to similar colors/patterns that fit the theme of the current project. Tools are always put away after use, likewise adhesives. (Most-used tools and adhesives are only a hands-reach away in my desk organizer.) When I finish a project (or am just done with the current theme) or if the scrap pile gets to large to be manageable, I'll file them away into my scrap bins and fully clean the desktop so it's ready for the next project. I keep 2 scrap bins near - but not on top of -- my desk: one for 6" or smaller bits, and one for larger scraps. 3) Summers are variable - some are more for making memories, and others have lots of scrapping time. This summer is very mixed - a little travel (making memories) and a LOT of organizing!

Yay angel97701 you made it to the cabin! I signed up for the AD class too, and I'm keeping up with printing the material, and have papers and photos for the first sketch. But I'm finishing my JYC album this month instead of doing the class lol. I only wanted the extra sketches since I have what feels like a million 4x6 photos already printed. It's fun to see the classes take on the sketches too. Oooo kitbop thank you for the review on the inks! That is so helpful! Well off to work for me today. In between shows with DS so tonight will be a freebie evening, maybe just maybe I'll get some crafting in.

Hope Linda is feeling OK! No crafting yesterday or today, but DS16 is started his job across the street from the cabin at the restaurant this afternoon. WAHOO! I hope he has fun, the co-owner/supervisor is amazing, and knows how to work with teens! Knows his background and is willing to work with whatever Pete is willing to do, has several 15-16 year olds working for them. Their grand re-opening was last weekend, then Sunday they had to be closed because their hoods stopped working. She says that every night they have been open has been their busyest night, they are really pleased with the direction it is moving. The original owner closed the well-known in a historic building during Covid. The chef (his wire is the supervisor), has a new financial backer and they re-opened about 2 weeks ago. She is willing to have Pete work when ever he is available. So cool!

Well DS had a good evening working at the restaurant. Very happy for him, he worked this evening, and I convinced DH we should go over. It was their quietest night since re-opening. Food was good, and DS was in the back doing dishes, so we didn't actually see him.
Nice weather but windy today. I decided to try the new Starboard Waterline, it's a bit tippier than my inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board. Rookie mistake, didn't head into the wake of a boat and ended up in the water. Which is all fine EXCEPT I twisted my knee in the process. OUCHIE! Watched some videos on how to self-adjust and put on some KT Tape. Also doing the Ice and elevation thing. BUMMED! It's sore, and I should be kind to it for the next few days.

I am very late to participating in this thread!
My username was my first online id in the aol chat rooms at the age of 16. So it’s a bit angsty. That I’m generally a good person but irritated at the state of the world. update: way too late to set a challenge 😂

Linda must really be under the weather! Can anyone check on her IRL? I'm here - sorry for not checking in between being sick and having houseguests....I've not really been online. I'm on the mend, I think...slept from 9 until 445 overnight and then went back to bed for a few hours and then up for an hour so and back to sleep until almost 2. Multiple covid tests were negative so just a nasty cold I think. I appreciate your concern angel97701

I just cleaned out my dresser and closet, put away a nail polish order. Going to finish re-doing my dies, hot foil, and embossing folder systems later tonight (integrating into my stamps). Tomorrow is church, a laser tag park place with kids, a voiceover for my Monday video and new mani. Busy but all fun stuff!
Need to post a few more things to sharing thread!

My boys are away this weekend, and I'm working. So it's that real "adult" feel - almost everything is about work or tidying up or taking care of animals. I even made it to the gym after work yesterday, solely I think because I was in that "responsible" zone. DD is here, but she creates more work than she helps After work today, I am making the 3 hour (round trip) drive to pick them up. Then I have a couple of days off but honestly my chronic neck pain has flared up and that keeps me away from my scrapbooking We found our first monarch (butterfly) caterpillar and 2 eggs for our annual monarch hatchery. It seems late this year. The Monarch was just added to the world's endangered list. It's such a summer staple here. We do what we can to increase the survival numbers! Last year we hatched and released about 30.
