Good morning Cut n Pasters! Are you excited to cut n paste our way through Q-3? What are your crafty plans for this quarter? Starting on Christmas cards? Scrapping your summer? Creating &/or finishing a travel album? Is anyone planning on "doing" July Joy? What about sleepingbooty 's Christmas in July? A Scrapbook Generation class? Any other fun scrappy activities? I saw a site the other day with a July calendar and a drawing prompt on each page for art journalers. Of course I didn't bookmark it, but it looked interesting. But daily prompts don't work for me very well any time of the year--can you spell distractible?--but summer and autumn are busy around here. Family comes to visit. The garden always needs something--seeding, weeding, harvesting... But I have lots of pic's to scrap and more I hope to take, so scrapbooking is always a wonderful option. Anyway, I am off to copy & paste challenges into the Q-3 thread. Hope you drop in there to set a few for yourself and others.
BTW, team, if you would like to sport our team badge that AussieMeg gifted us, just right click on my Cut 'n Pasters badge below, choose Copy Image Link. Now, open your profile, and choose Edit Profile, then Personal. In the Signatures pane, type (with no spaces) [ then img then] paste the link. When you have dropped in the link, type [/img], then go to the bottom and hit Save Changes.

I tried to get the button grammadee , but first I just got the link address typed. Then I tried typing a comma, Is that what you mean? Then a comma showed up. I added and now I have a tiny box. I guess I don't understand the part before pasting. Is that a space comma space? In the Signatures pane, type , then paste the link. katiekaty, thank you for hosting us this Quarter. I will try to keep up a little better this time.

Hello, I am here. This weekend is the best chance I have to scrap. It's 4th of July, we are going nowhere, and my husband has Monday off! I need some happy distraction!

katiekaty - can you help me with the rule for using each letter in July, August and September. If I use the word YOU do I get 2 points because there is a u and y in July or do I need to use all the letters in one of these words for Quarter three like "My Pets Are remembered" which would contain all the letters of September? Thank you

You need to type an opening square bracket then img and a closing square bracket, no spaces, then the pasted link, then opening square bracket forward slash img and a final closing square bracket. That is what I typed, but I guess it confused Pro boards, so it was replaced with a comma

Thanks, grammadee. I was doing "copy link address" and you have to use "copy image address". Then it worked. Nothing ever works for me, so I feel accomplished!! BTW, did you see the question above in MARIBETHR's post regarding one of the challenges. That would be good to clarify.

Thank you You get one point per letter if it appears in a month’s name. So “You” is worth 3 points. Your pets title would earn the bonus cuz a months worth of letters are there.

Hello! Hello! So happy to be here! Thank you katiekaty for leading us this quarter! I just got off a FaceTime crafting session with my BFF. Got most of a layout done. Should be able to finish it up this weekend. Saturday is a full of plans, but Sunday and Monday will be low-key, so I should find time to get more crafting done then! Happy Canada/Independence Day(s)!

Sorry for not finishing the opening at the start of this thread, I was in the middle of writing when older DS came down stairs-at 0430- saying he felt like crap, nausea, vomiting, sweating, severe headache, etc. No fever, no exposure. Heart rate was 160. I took him to the ER. They hooked him up to the machines-I gotta tell you, this nurse mom, was about to lose it too- when the doc walked and said he looks good on the monitor, has anyone done a blood glucose yet? He’s a “healthy “ weight! Yeah dude, just tell it like it is, like I have, you are overweight-by 50 pounds!
Glucose was 697! So we are spending a few days in patient for DS to wake and smell the roses-you have DMt type 2, need to lose weight, and oh, yeah, you have blood pressure too. Silly stupid children-thinking that the rules only apply to other people and their parents!
So here we are! Or rather, I am home, he’s there, his brother took pity and is staying the night with him, DH is out of state! He’ll be fine. The dietitian is gonna get hold of him tomorrow afterwards and tell him all the things I have told him about eating better, family history, etc. I want to be a fly on the wall. 😉

katiekaty, I am sorry for all the trauma around your DS. I hope he does well with the hospital protocols and can get under control. Hugs to you as you help him navigate his diagnoses. cannmom, your 3 day crop sound fun. Is it in person or online? You will get a great start this quarter! Ryann, the pages you posted at the end of the month are wonderful. So many beautiful designs. grammadee, I hope you have a fun weekend with family. We are going to see Top Gun:Maverick today. Then I hope to scrap online with the peas.

That sounds like a tough day for you and your ds, katiekaty. I hope the hospital can get his blood sugar regulated and find some medications that help his body continue to do that. Does he live with you? Will he have someone to help him make the changes he will need to do? cannmom, how do you prepare for a three day crop? Do you kit up the pages you plan to put together there? Or do you do like I do--pack everything but the kitchen sink and make all of your decisions once you are at the crop? Then I hope to scrap online with the peas. I would love to join you, but the "kids" are planning to bring the trailer here after their last lake day--for this trip--and they will be here for supper and over night. Cut 'n Paters, if you have time to craft this afternoon/evening, or just hang out with some crafters, keep an eye on the general scrapbooking board for a thread announcing the virtual crop. All Peas are welcome, and we get DOUBLE POINTS for scrapping with others! hoping to put together a birthday card and figure a homemade envelope for the giant anniversary card I made last week. Gotta give that one to dd & hubby before they leave tomorrow (their anniversary is Monday), and get ds's into the mail on Monday (his bd is next Friday). If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done around here!

Happy 4th of July, US Peas! Will you be attending any celebrations? Hangin' out with family? Having a quiet day at home? Or going to work as usual?
I am in Canada and we had our family for the long weekend--Friday to Sunday for us--but they are gone now. I need to head into town tomorrow to pay some bills and pick up some groceries. So just another Monday for me. Then Tuesday the housecleaners are coming. So I need to do some tidying ahead of them tomorrow.
Still haven't done much crafting, other than one card and one envelope, but hoping to get back into it soon...

Happy 4th of July! The day started off with Blueberry muffins-tradition started with the kids when they were little and continued today.
Do y’all have any fourth tradition?
Quick update on DS: he’s home, diet and meds to follow, exercise schedule, etc. Hopefully everything will improve and this scare will wake him up!

Today I will be hanging out in my craftroom. I will finish a page I have laid out on my desk, and then get down to some serious cleaning/organizing in here. I will have cleaning ladies working in the rest of the house, but I wont have them coming in here LOL I have to remind myself to keep track of the little things--time spent organizing and crafting, cards I actually mailed, days I did NOT spend money--which add up over 3 months, but not if they are not noted somewhere. Just a quick reminder: the challenges are piling up nicely. Before you start on a project, maybe read them over to see if you can amp up points by adding an image, a shape, a colour combo, an item. And while you are at it, if you have something in mind that will keep you scrapping this Quarter, and it is not already on the list, please post it in the Q-3 Challenges thread before end of day THURSDAY.
Also, we still need three more hosts for Sketchy Saturdays in July/August. If you like to use sketches, please sign up to host, HERE. Then find a sketch you like, create something from it as your sample, and on your weekend, you can pop in the challenge. Hint: if you do things like travel albums where you use the same sketch several times, pop it in as a Sketchy Saturday sketch, and you can claim SS points every time you use it! Oh, and if you don't get your sample done by "your" Saturday, that is okay, too.

grammadee, the cleaning ladies have learned to stay out of my craft/scrapping rooms too. I once had a meltdown over lost paper pieces and brads and twine that they tossed unknowingly thinking it was trash. now they don't go into the sewing or craft rooms. LOL I had to make nice-nice after that because I was afraid they wouldn't come back to the crazy lady's house! I will also be posting a fun challenge in the challenge thread that I hope everyone will participate in!

katiekaty , I am glad to hear that your DS is doing better. Sometimes we all need a health wake-up call. grammadee , your day in your scraproom sounds delightful. I spent most of Sat. and Mon. scrapping. I have 4 layouts to photo and post and I just need to embellish my Sheetload cards. It feels good to scrap again. Sunday afternoon I went through my scrapbook papers and collected a big bag of paper to donate. But today I am doing some heavy duty reorganizing. I have spent 2 hours going through OLD papers and insurance and medical documents to take to the shredder. Off to finish a big task and keep my laundry going.

katiekaty Glad to hear you son was able to go home. I imagine that alone made him feel better. I hope everyone had a pleasant and safe weekend. The 4th at my house is trying to keep our 2 cats calm from the loud pops in the neighborhood. I will not be sad to leave this experience behind when we move next year! I didn't get quite as much crafting time last week as I had hoped, but that is okay. I start my new part-time, work from home schedule today. I'll be working afternoons (Tue-Fri), so plenty of alone time in the morning to get some quality crafting time in.

Your poor kitties, Ryann . Our dogs are terrified of loud noises like thunder, so no idea how they would handle fireworks in the neighbourhood. In other kitty news, our poor garage cat, Stitch, had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day on Sunday. Dh has been rearranging the garage, and on Sunday dd & hubby were helping out. One project they took on was moving Charlie's (the stray who arrived on our deck last fall and made herself at home) cat condo into the garage in prep for her to be all moved in there by the time cold weather strikes. To begin with, Stitch was just anxious. He jumped on my car hood seemed to settle down as I talked to him and petted him. But once the condo was placed, he did NOT want to go up to his bed beside the top of it. We had removed his usual routes. And of course the view looked different to him up there now that the condo was in front of him. Anyway dd took him and tried to get him up onto his perch using a shelf. The shelf didn't hold his weight, and although she caught him, he was frieked out. About that time, someone opened the door to the house, and he shot in there. To be met by dd's dog Sheeva, who put the run on him! I closed him up in a bedroom until we were done in the garage and everyone else left but Grampa and me. Put him back into the garage and let him explore. He is back to himself now, but he still avoids his former bed, and has decided he likes to sleep on a shelf further down.. Doesn't seem to be holding a grudge against me, unless his usual crisscrossing in front of me when I am going downstairs has changed in motive... Of course I have no photos of all the action.

Good morning team! How is everyone doing today? Are you scrapping, crafting, cardmaking, working or just taking it easy? I was seriously sleep deprived over the weekend and slept till 9:15 today It was wonderful, but now it's not even noon and I feel like I screwed up my entire day, KWIM?!? I wrote myself a big note yesterday that I need to finish organizing the walk in closet in my office today. I got two new Ikea drawer units recently for some of my crafting stuff, and am looking forward to having my embroidery stuff, yarny stuff, and sewing stuff in a new and newly organized home. It'll also give me more room for paper crafting stuff
