Peachy Cheap has the new Fancy Pants Cookies for Kringle today. I bought several of these pieces of paper, the die cuts, and the puffy stickers. Probably spent $23. 🤷🏻♀️ http://instagram.com/p/CitvRA2u9bX

Oh Peachy Cheap, you almost got me a second time in a week! But I was good and closed the tab.
For now... the day is young. Haha!

I do have a regular blade that I designate as a 'fabric blade' so paper doesn't dull it. Ugh. That's why we have different blades -- just like we have special fabric scissors. Oops. But yes, really easy. I'm going to buy two new blades now, one for each. And keep the one I have for balsa wood. Thanks for your help! I'm so jealous. I'm about an hour from Pittsburgh and there's a train to Chicago. I've always wanted to go at Christmas but we're so busy.

I needed to share with people who would be as excited as I am! I bought tickets for a bus trip to the Christkindl market in Chicago during December! I've always wanted to go but you could not pay me enough to drive in downtown Chicago let alone at Christmastime. My partner would do it but he wouldn't like it. This way, we get on the bus at the local high school here, spend the day there, and then get driven back and don't have to drive in or find/pay for parking. A couple of my family members heard and were telling me they didn't like it, it was too crowded, etc. but I'm choosing to believe that we will LOVE it & it will be just as magical as I have always thought it would be. Oh...thank you for sharing wordyphotogbabe! We'll be in Chicago in November and i read your message and thought "oh shame...we're too early" (in Europe Christkindl markets don't start till Advent) But no! I followed your link and it looks like we'll be there when it kicks off. Wooo hoo! How lucky is that?!

It IS super crowded at times, but not if you go in the middle of the work day. It’s super busy after work. I’ve actually never been on a weekend so I imagine it’s busy but not nuts since people are spread out over the day? If you get the mulled wine (and maybe hot chocolate), you can get the souvenir cup for the year! Don’t miss the ornament house.

Chicago is gorgeous at Christmas time! We went to the Christkindl market many years ago when it was super super cold, but it was still a lot of fun. I love the ornaments we bought there and cherish our time there. Even if it is crowded, you will have a great time. Lots of photo ops. I was not really prepared for capturing the experience at the time - I was just in the moment - so your post makes me want to go back!

I actually love the line but this paper is straight out of the 1950s. I have a cookbook from Crisco that I swear has this pattern in it. This is not a fresh pattern. This is retro. I LOVE it but I think they should own it. Brought to you by vintage Jell-O... Exactly! But again, bring it. I love it all. Except that jello and vegetables sounds really gross.

Because putting meat in the jello with your leftover veggies is just one step too far??? 😂😂😂🤯🤢 If I even TRIED to serve this up to the family they’d have me committed to a mental asylum... so I might just do it if they don’t behave at Christmas (who needs the grinch when you can threaten with leftovers in jello salad for dinner???) I just love that lime or lemon jello are good but any other flavour of jello is so so bad🤣

I really wish my grandma was still alive so I could ask her if she ever made this. Dirty lime will now always be associated with vegetable jello salad for me. Would be hilarious to make this at Christmas, try and serve with a straight face, and see if anyone eats it. Would make a great DD story.

oh my goodness, yes, it is. My friend had tried to tell me about her grandma's favorite recipe which included mayonnaise and honestly the thought makes me want to barf. I love that convenience foods got too convenient and they had to make them more difficult. I heard that the original boxed cake mixes were "just add water" varieties but they didn't sell well - it didn't feel enough like real baking. So they reduced the powdered egg and fat slightly and had people crack an egg and pour some oil in so it felt just difficult enough to be real and worthwhile and sales went through the roof. lol. Stupid humans. I just happened to see a Upper Midwesterner's thrift-with-me video the other day where someone came across a strange Bundt cake shaped plastic container with a lid and everyone in the comments was telling her about Tupperware's famous jell-o molds and horrific jell-o salads. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled next time I thrift, just for the fun of seeing one.

I know my family would absolutely not be quietly accepting like they were towards Rachel in that epic episode. Is this the part of the discussion where I shock the American Peas by saying there's no such thing as Jell-O in France (or most European countries)?

Oh well, they updated the Stories past Kit over at Ali Edwards:
„Purchase our 2022 Christmas Past Kit and you’ll receive access to an exclusive album workshop featuring completed albums from Ali Edwards + Pam Baldwin. This album workshop is only available for those who purchase the kit.
Ali’s using the Christmas Past Kit as the jumping off point for an album of past Christmas Days throughout her life. She’s combining childhood photos with recent past photos to document some of her favorite family traditions and simply celebrate the passage of time during this magical season.
Additional supplies from this year's collection that Ali uses in her project include:
Joy 6x8 Album Painted Wood Veneer Pack Specialty Paper Pack 6x8 Transparency Set Ali's album project will be available in the classroom on October 1. Pam's project will be added later.“
I must say, that sold me on this kit. I already liked those number stamps, Grid Pages and the black tags and the allover classic feel. But I think they haven’t many sold yet, so they put the workshop in.

They gloss over the fact that the Jell-O inventor-he didn't invent it, but did create the instant, no refrigeration, flavored kind some people love- not only sold the company for next to nothing, but it exploded in popularity right after the sale. Probably due to the new owner handing out samples left and right so people could actually see how easy it was. The original inventor just didn't have capital to market the product at all. The original Jell-O inventor and his wife, who came up with the name died in the poor house. I tell you, I have never like Jell-O because it gives me the creeps, but if you are ever in upstate NY be sure to visit the Jell-O museum in Leroy. It is fascinating and will give you a new appreciation for the stuff.

I really love the sneak from today. And all these jello posts are making me a little nauseated. I will be glad when we hit page 34.

That's quite sad. And surprising. I thought IKEA was doing quite well despite the inflation and stagflation hitting Europe. Do you know why they've decided to close? Is there a social plan in place to help the employees find another job? Super late reply because these last couple of weeks have been WEIRD. It's down to property development. The area is being redeveloped at an ararming rate and I think they've just sold the land because £££££. Also IKEA want to concentrate on smaller stores like the recently opened Hammersmith store. The staff have been offered jobs elsewhere, but I wonder how many local people will go for that? Tottenham isn't easy to travel from to the other stores. I'm still quite cross about this! In other news, Hey Little Magpie have started selling Elle's Studio's new Christmas collection (it doesn't look like all of it though?)

Imagine my Aeroplane-ified Christmas eve dinner: wine jelly with bits of game meat, "floating" Dauphinoise potatoes and random bits of caramelised roasted veg. This may just be enough for the French to bring back the death sentence. Guillotine-style! lg You must make some kind of jelly this December. Just for the lulz. Do they do rosé-flavoured jelly?... *wink wink nudge nudge* The original Jell-O inventor and his wife, who came up with the name died in the poor house. Dickens but make it American style. (No, seriously, this is such an American tale...) (Poor OG Jell-O inventors.) t's down to property development. It's a sucky situation all around. I'm cross for you. I hope you'll still find your Vinter stuff at another store but it won't be the same. My mother lives less than 10 minutes away from an IKEA store and it's one of our guilty pleasures to just sneak out of the house and go browse a few aisles together, gossiping and harshly judging the quality of the new fabric sofa covers. It'd be sad to lose such a small but significant habit. I feel for you and the workers. ETA: Thank you for the Hey Little Magpie heads-up. Will keep checking to see if they get the chipboard stickers I want in stock. Nevermind, they are in stock, yay!

AE is now offering a free DD stories of Xmas past class and you get the digitals with the kit, which is a clear sign that the kit is not selling well...might be tempting and might just be... well not.
From the sneaks of the class because pictures of the past tend to be low quality and very very busy, I'm seeing that the product (like grid frames) do not work well at all. Yeah still not buying. The value just isn't there for me.

I've already ordered the Paislee Press Mini Kit, so I don't think I need any more physical products. My intention was to buy some digitals to supplement, but it looks like the Xmas Past products won't be available digitally unless you buy the physical ones. I'm sure this has a lot to do with sales being low for this kit. I'll just wait for folks to post their "Xmas Past" ideas on Instagram.

I am soooo tempted to make the recipe and take it to the annual family Christmas party being held at my cousins house. To walk into her house with a huge plate of wobbling, veggie chunk filled jelly….dare me peas, dare me!!!😆
