If you thought last year's thread went up early, you're in for a surprise because we are 2 weeks ahead of the regular schedule. Instead of August 7 like last year, our first official DD sneak has just gone up on July 25th! The start of this year's December Daily season is officially here... So, welcome all to the inauguration of our 2022 season of the 5 month-long December documenting madness! As always, this discussion is dedicated to any kind of documenting and creating related to the end-of-the-year holidays. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Yule, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, etc., you're at home here. Whether you make an actual December Daily album, stick to adding extra photos/LOs to your regular album, only make cards, mini-album your way through the season, you're at home here. If you just want to look at Christmas pretties and discuss the new products without creating, you're also at home here. Everyone's welcome. Get yourself a glass of cold water by the electric fan if you're still in the middle of a heatwave (like myself) and get comfy... Here's to another jolly 2PR DD season! Companies that have offered DD(ish) kits in the recent past: Ali Edwards ✓ Citrus Twist Clique Kits Cocoa Daisy Color Cast Designs ✓ CTMH Elle's Studio ✓ Feed Your Craft Felicity Jane ✓ Freckled Fawn Hip Kit Club Kimidori (Spain) Layle Koncar ✓ Paper Person ✓ Scrapdelight (Netherlands) Shimelle Stampin' Up! Studio Calico Confirmed 2022 December kits: Ali Edwards | Order period opens on August 31st. The plastic shape mix this year is stars (predicted to sell out quickly). Paislee Press makes another kit appearance. No new journal for 2022. Color Cast Designs | The new collection is called Merry & Bright. Release date is September 25 and shipments begin after October 20th. Elle's Studio | Document December kit + add-ons available on August 24. Products will ship immediately. First look on page 9. Layle Koncar | The Layle by Mail December Documented kit will be available for pre-order on August 26. Kits will start shipping in late September. Paper Person | New Christmas products will be available with the October release. No restocks. PS: If you're looking for the 2022 Christmas scrapbooking collections, the thread is here.

I won't be doing a dedicated DD this year but will add pages to my regular 9x12 album as always.
I will follow along though to see if anything catches me eye!

We use the DD name generically for any kind of December documenting, fear not. No one, no format/type of creating, no Christmas gossip is out of line here.

The orange-toned red is not really for me. Especially combined with the gold foil since the contrast is just not strong enough for the foil words to pop off and be read clearly. And that pine green is too dark... But I'm looking at this Christmas mug half full and focusing on what I like:
1. The kraft chipboard hearts with words! I like these. Classic, easy to use, Ali's handwriting is legible. 2. That burgundy shade on the gift embellishment, oh my... I hope this colour is carried way more through the AE DD product offer this year. Elegant and timeless. 3. I spot a white-skinned Santa and a dark-skinned Santa! Representation, baby, yeah. 4. Is that Liz Tamanaha's lettering/drawing style I see? (I sure hope so.) 5. Those chipboard circles look nice. I'm loving the minimalist and oh-so classic look of these. 6. That number 25 is very Felicity Jane-esque. I'm crossing my fingers for a full chipboard set available to purchase as a separate product!

This is giving me flashbacks of that awful orange red album from years past. But the Kraft? I love.

Yay!!! The death of Christmas is here!!! I actually don't know what that means but my husband and daughter wrote a song years ago called The Death of Christmas is Here and it just came into my head. It doesn't have any other lyrics but you probably guessed that's it's death metal. do not like anything enough to buy do not like anything enough to buy And if this doesn't sum up the whole thread in a nutshell, I don't know what does. Followed up by "ADD TO CART"

I'm debating on 6x8 or 3x8 for DD this year. Probably 6x8 because I already have the PP and SB.com and those plush albums...
No FYC this year is definitely sad.
I'm looking forward to Paper Person, but I doubt we'll see anything until September. Early September. I'm hoping that'll be my only purchasing since I am very well stocked on Christmas stuff. No supply chain issues here, folks.

That’s great news, dawnnikol. I was thinking Kelly didn’t show anything until October. I always buy (and use) her DD kits and look forward to seeing what she has for us this year!

I just checked my emails and we had sneaks from PP on August 3! September was a bigger sneak and more details though and then it was released October 13. Not much longer.

I won't be doing a dedicated DD this year but will add pages to my regular 9x12 album as always. This is my plan too, pantsonfire. My overall goal is to start taking more photos so I'm hopeful to get a photo or two a day that I can put in my regular PL album as an addition to my regular December memory keeping with a few traditional layouts as well. Not a fan of this sneak peek at all, but it's not like I need any more Christmas supplies. I am telling myself that I am in the same boat as you. I definitely don't need anymore Christmas supplies, but I'm sure I will treat myself to something.

It's obviously a "C" for "Christmas" because he knows certain designers lean towards that orange. Ha!!! I'm debating on 6x8 or 3x8 for DD this year. I used a 3X8 in 2020 because I didn't think I'd have a lot to document but it was tough. I can hardly close the thing. Many of my days were also one page for the day when I usually do a 2-page per day spread. I don't think I'm that chunky of a scrapper but I think for DD I go to town. I LOVED the vertical photos and I loved the challenge of a new size. I had only done 6X8 for years so it was fun changing it up. The size also lends itself well to tags in pockets. I'm not ready to take the leap to 8X10 but 3X8 was rough. I filled a 4X8 Citrus Twist album with Week in the Life this Year. I think I'm going to stick with a thick spine 6X8.

I am so excited about DD this year! My BF will have moved in by then so I'll have at least one person to do all the Christmas things with even when my kids are with their dad and his kids are with their mom. I'm 100% digital & love Ali but don't love her prices or type of digital product so I will be playing along with other digital things and gushing over all your gorgeous paper-y things.

Just say no to orange-red for Christmas. NO. 😂
I won’t be doing a separate DD album but I will incorporate pages of “DD” in between my regular PL spreads. Not sure if I will add like a 12x6 insert for each week of December in between my 12x9 weeks or so some regular 12x9 pages all at the end of the album.

I like the soft minty green in that sneak but I really don't love the orange and mint combo here with the darker tones. That's ok, typically Ali's kits don't appeal to me overall, and her prices even less so.

I really hope Ali has some nice 6x8 album options this year. She has been super into the 10x8 albums lately, so I'm worried the cute stuff is all going to be 10x8. (in her travel collection she only offered a simple linen album in 6x8).
I tried a 10x8 album last year. The pages are too long. They are starting to tilt and lean in my album, so the paper is starting to warp. The album is less then a year old. So I am definitely going back to 6x8.
I also think during the travel release it was mentioned that Dec Daily would offer buildable album options. I really hope that there are more choices then just buildable. My albums are so full, I want a real spine to be able to support my pages.

So I am definitely going back to 6x8. Yeah, that's what I thought would happen when they launched this format, alas. So sorry this is happening! I hope you can find some way to save your pages as much as possible. The issue here is that if you lay the album flat to preserve the content, you will eventually damage the spine itself years down the line (books stacked flat on shelves for decorative effect are my pet peeve for this exact reason). What a headache. ☹️
