My dad died today. He had Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia, so we knew it would be coming, but it’s still a big shock. He was sitting up in bed singing Nessun Dorma, with a perfect pitch, on Sunday. Thanks to the peas for being a place that I can voice my grief without upsetting my family.

Oh joelise, I’m so so sorry. Dementia in any form is brutal. I’m sorry your family had to deal with losing him and to losing him that way. |

I am so sorry for your loss. What a wonderful memory for you to remember your dad singing his way into heaven! I just watched a clip of Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma, since I wasn’t sure if I knew the song. Oh my. Your dad is certainly entertaining the angels tonight. May his memory be eternal. .
