Hmm... None of the major news outlets are covering it yet. The timing seems a little bit suspicious. Anytime the Democrats look good or the Republicans look bad, conservatives bring up Hunter Biden. Just in the last couple days, we discovered Trump wanted his generals to be like Nazi generals, he didn’t want wounded soldiers marching in his parade and the FBI raided his residence. The Democrats scored a major win with the passage of the widely popular Inflation Reduction Act, on the heels of other significant legislation including the CHIPS bill and the PACT act. So yeah, seems like a convenient time to bring up Hunter Biden.

eta - Actually, this seems like recycled old news.  Chuck Grassley sent the first letter at the end of May, the 2nd at the end of July.  The FBI director was questioned 4 days ago regarding this.  And so far, I think the only actual evidence is Chuck Grassley’s letters.  The FBI officer in question is on leave from the Washington office.  It seems likely he didn’t work on the Hunter Biden investigation recently.

And since you’re such a stickler for precision and accuracy, perhaps you could edit your title to include allege, since all we have are Chuck Grassley’s letters.  Even the tweet you posted used the word alleged.

When I posted, I don’t think we had the full details of the search warrant. I was referring to other bad news for Trump lately (pictures of him flushing documents, judge ordered him to turn over taxes, scheduled to give a deposition in the civil case etc, more information about his relationship with his generals, he didn’t want injured soldiers marching in his parade, he wanted his generals to be like the Nazi generals etc) and good news for Biden and the Democrats.

Did CBS report anything other than Chuck Grassley’s letters? His letters were dated at the end of May and July. The FBI director was interviewed, but there’s nothing new here.

Have at it. Given all of the other breaking news this week (Trump pleading the 5th today after saying only guilty people plead the 5th, Republican leaders stoking violence, Republican lawmakers in PA served with subpoenas, the FBI taking Scott Perry’s phone etc) I don’t think anyone is really interested in talking about Hunter Biden.

What is the obsession with Hunter Biden about? He isn’t in the administration or working for the administration or making money while they are working in their dad’s administration.

If I was doing something wrong, I would do everything I could to avoid talking about it, including talking about other people doing what I was doing. For example, if I knew that my dear leader’s kids did all of the above, The last thing I would be doing is whining about Hunter Biden’s laptop. Or, if I had ranted and raved about the protection of classified information on a private email server, I wouldn’t have used burner phones, ripped up, flushed, and otherwise destroyed classified documents. And I sure wouldn’t be saying “defund the FBI” after tearing down the idea of defunding the police. Or I wouldn’t be contradicting everything that I said over the last five years to spin my party in a different way. But republicans are allergic to irony and immune to hypocrisy. There is a special kind of personality flaw with them.

Eta that if he did something wrong, I am fine with him being investigated. But I don’t think that what he may or may not have done is as consequential as what the Trumps did during his presidency. And I think they should have had some consequences. And again, I think it is hypocritical for people to constantly bring up Hunter Biden while ignoring the rest.

Is that the best these people can dig up to try to distract from what’s going on with Trump stealing classified nuclear information?

I think lots of people know Hunter has always been basically a ne’er-do-well most of his adult life. I mean, he’s the opposite of Beau and that’s never been a secret. During the Obama tenure, it was well-known Hunter was occasionally a thorn in their side.

That said, there’s never been any evidence that whatever he was doing had influenced Joe in any way regards his official duties as VP, nor has there been evidence at all that Joe had received monies/kickbacks from any of the companies and countries Hunter had been involved with. If there’s Joe-related corruption stemming from Hunter’s activities, this is DC—that’s the sort of thing you couldn’t have kept under wraps for long.

Hunter is a private citizen; he wasn’t involved in the running of gov’t. If Delaware has a case against him, then the US Atty there will handle it.
