This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I hope everyone will have scrappy time this month and try out some (or all) of the sketches posted daily. Thanks to grammadee and her hostesses for setting this up each year! I know I won't get a lot done this month, but I always love to print out the sketches for later if I can't get them done this month. Have a great month, Pokeys!

Have fun cropping tomorrow! I will be taking photos instead of gluing them. Just waiting for my ds & fam to arrive. They should be here soon. It is a long drive from Calgary and they didn't leave until the kids were home from school today. cycworker, how are you doing with your dad? kitbop, I hope your dh is able to travel without too much discomfort and has a good visit with his brother while they care for his dad. Safe travels, justjac! kellyr21 and MARIBETHR I hope you aren't feeling the worst effects of the fires in southern California. Hoping the heat lets up soon.

I'll be scrapping but not online tomorrow - I suspect DD15 will be home sick one more day which means she'll be popping in and out of my craft room which is not conducive to online crops. I took some photos this evening - the Goodyear Blimp is moored at the small airport here so DH and I drove over to snap some pictures. grammadee - have fun with family! Looking forward to the pages you make with the pictures you take this weekend.

It is going pretty well. I think I have figured it out... he socializes with his peers there in the morning. In the afternoon, if there isn't an activity he's interested in, he naps. So best time to pop over is around 4:00.

Hi Nylene-
I remember you and played in your challenge on 2 peas many years ago. So glad to see you are still going strong.
I hope to play along if that’s okay. I make lots of cards, it has been a year since I made a layout.

Happy Friday and hugs to all of you. I fell behind on last months thread and saw you all had so much happening that I wish we could have a big ole group hug. I"m going up to mom's tomorrow to help her get some stuff donated. That will be fun lol. She wants me to help convince her that she can let things go lol. Monday she and my niece are all scrapping online. I think between some online cropping and sketchtember my mojo may come back lol. gramma I'm not sure if I can make the crop tomorrow, but hopefully I'll be home in time to pop in and say hi. I miss everyone's faces!

Aheartfeltcard , it's so good to see you. I definitely remember you and am glad to have you join in. Please post your cards so we can enjoy them too. The Sketchtember challenge can be used for layouts or cards so join in if you'd like. For Pokey Peas you need only post 4 projects (layouts or cards) per month. If you don't get 4 completed, we still would love to have you hop on and chat with us. Sometimes I forget to even post them here, but I love coming to chat with the great scrappers on this thread. Everyone is so friendly. Will you tell us a little about yourself so those who don't know you can get acquainted. grammadee , I hope your weekend with the family goes well. You will need some rest/relaxation/scrappy time when this weekend is over. I have enjoyed the first sketches this month and look forward to more challenges. I know I will get behind after DH's surgery, but hope to do as many as possible. My photos came in the mail, so I have a lot of choices. kellyr21 , I was watching the news about how hot it is in your area. I hope you are able to keep cool. We have had 29 days of 100 or higher this summer. The all time record was 27 days and we are expecting over 100 from now until the end of next week. I feel blessed to have air conditioning. It's too hot to be outside. gramma , I hope to hop on the chat for a couple of minutes before we have to leave for the evening. I look forward to meeting our new little great-granddaughter tonight. cycworker , I'm glad you have found a time that's good to visit with your dad. I saw that others suggested having him reminisce about his earlier life experiences. My DH wasn't excited about recording his memories, but I started by just asking him casual questions like "what kind of games did you play when you were a boy" and the memories just began to flow. We have a couple of hours of his recording. He won't do it without me there with him, but that's fine. I hope after this next surgery we can continue with the recordings. I hope you can both enjoy the visits. joyfulnana , your scrapping with your sister and mom sounds delightful. I hope the organizing and donating goes well for your mother's things. I know it's hard to let go of sentimental items. You are a sweetheart to help her. Linda , the Goodyear Blimp? Wow, that's cool. I look forward to the photos. I hope your DD begins to feel better. How is the broken wrist? I love your pages for Sketchtember and also the Stamping pages. I haven't left comments, but I will. Are you planning to do all 30 pages for Sketchtember? You ae such a prolific scrapper! I need to help DH with some organization of his pens. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Happy Sunday evening! I hope you all are well and having a nice holiday weekend. I am so over this heat but we are safe and trying to stay cool. Not near any fires grammadee. Not much happening here but just relaxing. I did get to see the new sketches and they all look good. Maybe I will be able to scrap this month. Waving hi and will pop back in this week. Have a good one all!

Hello, Pokeys! sorry I missed the crop, but we had a houseful and a busy weekend. Those 3 cousins (aged 7, 8, & 9) had a great time. Ds brought a couple of dirt bikes, so the 3 boys took turns zipping around the yard. Their dad worked all weekend (when he wasn't filling the small bikes with gas or trouble shooting for one or another for the boys) first trying to get our quad going, and then trying to resurrect a 1982 motor bike which he ended up loading up to take home with him from the farm.
The hottest couple of days we set up a slip n slide. This one has little blow up sleds, so you can get quite a bit of distance. The dads kept adding tarps to make it longer down the hill in front, and not only the boys, but one dad and one mom went down it! Dsil says next year he plans to get at least two more mega slides that all attach together just to see how far the ride can go.
After ds & family left this morning--the boys already trying to get a promise out of mom & dad for their NEXT trip out here--dsil and dgs helped clear a few veggies off the garden. They went home with tomatoes and cukes and corn on the cob and cellery: payment for their efforts. They just left a bit ago.
Tomorrow I hope to print all the photos, and that should keep me busy for the rest of the month! The only sketch I have attempted so far is the one I posted last night for today's challenge. But I already have plans for a couple of the others with the pic's I took this weekend. I also have First-Day-of-School pic's from last week that were shared by a couple of families, and hoping for the others this week, so I should be good to put something together for the Donna challenge.

gramma ! What beautiful pages and cards! Linda very cool about the blimp! I remember when it came to our town when I was a kid. We thought it was following us everywhere lol. I would be checking that out too if it were near me. I hope DD is feeling better. grammadee I'm worn out reading about your weekend, but I'll bet it was glorious and sounds like a ton of fun. I tried to pop in to the crop but I missed it. Scrapped all day with mom and my niece today. I have one LO so close to done. I'm not sure how many I will get done this month, but I've one down at least. While I was at Mom;s we popped over to see another niece that has a two week old. Oh he's so cute. Her sister and MY sister (their mom) came by too, it was good to see so much family. I hope everyone has a great week!

gramma, thanks for posting your cards and layouts on this thread. I love those rocker cards and the foxes are adorable. Your layouts are amazing. I love the screws and bolts and nuts. Delightful. You have love in the gallery. joyfulnana, your scrapping and visiting with so many family members sounds wonderful. Being around a tiny baby is such a joy booster. Did you get a 4- generation photo? I am eager to see your layout. I think it's great that you can scrap with family members. Sorry you missed the online crop. I could only stay a minute, but it was nice seeing a few of the Peas. grammadee, have you come up for air since the family left? You have really had a busy couple of weeks. I love the idea of the slip and slide. We have done that on my brother's hill, but we have to make sure it stops before kids fly into the river! You make everything so much fun at the farm. I hope you can now settle down to just harvesting, canning, freezing and scrapping. Whew! How are you not worn out? kellyr21, so nice to see your smiling avatar popping up. How is your chair yoga class going? Do you have plans for any more Michael's classes? Our Michael's doesn't do in store classes, but there are online classes. I need to look into those. I hope it cools down in your area. (and ours too) It's just miserable to be out in the heat for very long. Take care of yourself. It's great to see you popping on. We had a wonderful family event on Saturday. Our little Hailey is such a sweet baby. Her daddy gave her a name and a beautiful blessing. She was happy and pleasant for most of the evening. We did get a 4-generation photo. I will scrap it when I get it printed. We spent most of yesterday with Em and family as she and Doug updated our computers, TV, ipads, phones, etc. Every little quirk we were experiencing was fixed. We then took them to dinner and sat and talked for a long time. I appreciate family so much. Off to get a few things done and to get all the washing and cleaning finished before Dh's surgery on Thurs.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all had a nice weekend/holiday. We stayed in most of the days and stayed cool. Then, a couple of late afternoons we got out for a while. Not much going on here today. I hope to finish up my Heidi Swapp project this week. gramma - What fantastic cards! SO good! grammadee - You had a fun time with your grands. A slip and slide sounds so cool. Hope you are able to regroup this week after all the excitement. nylene - Yes, we are hanging in there with this heat. Whew! LOL! I had to drop my yoga class. It was too hot in there! LOL! They had a/c but it was never working. Plus our crazy weather just made it too uncomfortable. Maybe I will try it again at a cooler time of the year. I am still enjoying the M's virtual classes. I don't know when they will have in-person classes here. But for now I like these live classes and they have some good instructors. I have 4 or 5 classes I am taking this week. Also, I will be praying for you and your dh this week. Hang in there! joyfulnana - Glad you got to hang out with your family. How is Abby doing? msliz - Just waving hi! linda- Waving hi and hope your dd is back in the swing of things. How are your fur babies doing these days?

Good Morning! nylene I didn't even think about getting a 4 generation photo, or any group photo lol. But my niece took a picture of me with the baby lol. I'm glad you got a 4 generation photo of your family. And that you had a wonderful time. I'll be keeping you and DH in my thoughts and sending all the good your way. wow California is in for it! I hope you find a way to stay cool kellyr21 and gramma! Kelly, Abby is doing well. She rules the house and she knows it lol. She loves to be outside on the deck watching the world go by. In the evening anyway when it's cool. The heat has let up here for now, and I'll be thinking of you CA peas. Stay safe! I finished a LO. First one in a long time, sketchtember always gets my mojo going. I'm not sure if I'll have Rudy for a sleep over or not this weekend. He's getting to that age, and it's sad, but I also enjoy the times I get the both nights free lol. I know I'll have him Sunday for practice. I hope it's not too hot to get out. I'm really looking forward to fall. Waving hi to everyone!

Stay cool gramma and kellyr21joyfulnana - yay for finishing a layout! The combination of Rudy getting older and you getting more free evenings sounds bittersweet. Glad you got to have some baby time with your grand-nephew. I miss babies. kellyr21 - Yoga does not seem like a summer heatwave kind of activity - can't blame you for dropping it for now. Glad that the M's classes are going well. nylene - how wonderful to get a 4-generation photo! I bet Hailey is adorable! Glad all your tech got updated. gramma - those cards are amazing - love the foxes! And your layout is great with all the tools. grammadee - Sounds like a fun and busy weekend with the grand-sons. The Slip and Slide sounds fun! dd went back to school yesterday after missing 5 of the past 6 schooldays between the cast and then feeling poorly. So of course, DH started feeling under the weather last night and stayed home sick today. Hopefully he recovers quicker than she did as we have a busy weekend ahead of us. I'm sleeping on the couch to hopefully avoid catching it.

Happy mid week, Pokeys! That is really HOT, gramma! We were feeling it with temps lower than that! No wonder you gave up chair yoga, kellyr21. I don't think I would be sticking my nose outside the door if I had A/C inside. It is much nicer today here, temps close to 20C. joyfulnana, I completely understand the mixed feelings about the possibility of your having more free time with Rudy growing older. I am needing more and more time to recover after having care of one or more of them. Looks like whole lotta scrappin' goin' on around here! I haven't done any pages yet this month, but I printed a ton of photos yesterday. Today I sorted them, and put together a couple of rough kits with sketches and papers for a couple of LO's. Messed around with a bit of stamping for one of them. No 4 generations to photograph here. There are three generations in one of the photos--dh, ds, and two of his boys. And the cousins wanted to line up on the steps on Monday as to their ages--7, 8, and 9. Hope your dh recovers quickly, Linda. When is your dh's surgery, nylene? Dh is in the process of having his upper teeth completely removed and getting dentures. He had a plan to have the rest out next Tuesday just before having the upper denture set in, but he had a bleed on Saturday from the extraction last Tuesday and decided to go off his blood thinners all weekend before he could see the dentist yesterday. The dentist didn't want him to go on the meds and then off again in a week, so he took out the last top teeth today. So now he is toothless, except for a few left on the bottom that he will be getting a partial plate for. Okay. Gotta go figure out something for him--and me--to eat...

Finally got a few minutes to hop on the computer. The surgery went well but was much more involved than we anticipated. They removed a huge (their word) cancer on his cheek and neck. DH mentioned in passing that he had a lump there and it turned out to be very invasive. They removed a couple of others and took a skin graft as well as the hard palate graft. So he's pretty scary looking, with stitches all over his head. But he is feeling well. The pain has not been bad and he's pretty contented. Of course it's just the first day, so I may have to tie him down if he continues to feel this well. He was seen in the office this morning and will return next Friday. Emily took us to the hospital and stayed the entire time. She has really been a help and brought lunch in today. I really appreciated having her with me. I probably won't get back to scrapping for a while. I'm glad I got a few of the sketches done early in the month and hope to do some more before the month is over. Linda, I'm sorry your DH is now ill. I hope he recuperates faster than DD and that you don't get it too. Hugs. I'll check in again when I can! Have a great weekend, everyone.

nylene, that sounds really scary! I'm glad he's feeling OK and hope things stay on an even keel. I hope you have time to relax a bit too and aren't too worried by him. Linda- you just can't get them out of your hair! I'm sure they appreciate having you to take care of them. grammadee - I'm really enjoying the sketches. I've done 3 plus my own, so 4. Which is great considering I completed 1 layout in all of August! However, I haven't yet done my sample for Sunday - yikes - because I've been enjoying using other people's sketches! I'm finishing up yours with the triangle/grid right now and it's coming out cool...but I have to set it aside if I'm gonna get my own done for Sunday. Sorry you are so hot gramma! We're still warm during the day, but only at the 90ish point. And overnight now we're down to below 60, so everything cools off nicely. Looking forward to some chat tomorrow!
