I had an inking accident, so I made these two grungy.😏 These are for my son's teacher, bus driver, and aides. Very simple cards. I like your accident! Looks great! I love the “accident” as well, they are beautiful!

Thanks! I added extra adhesive but I’m not sure how long they’ll stick. I might staple them. Not sure.

Hema have just added a glow-in-the-dark garland with die-cuts that are approximately 15 cm/6 inches high. I think the paper die-cuts are glow-in-the-dark, not the string... These would make for lovely inserts in October albums, methinks. If any of you are interested, I'm more than happy to pick a second garland up and send one of each die-cut in an envelope with global stamp to you as a RAK! Oh my goodness, if you still have a kitty I would love that! I can send you some sheets of Mysterial in return if you like. I was lamenting with a friend just the other day about how we miss Hema (they closed down over here a couple of years ago), and we even started to look at Eurostar tickets to Lille to go shopping there again (and see Lille, obviously, it's a long thought about trip)

No need for anything in return (even Jell-O, hehe). I'm just glad to share the Hema love. I'll go pick up some extra goodies this weekend. Is there anything else from their 2022 Halloween line you were looking at? Paper thingies are easy and cheap to send! The spider garland is cute and one of those honey comb belly spiders makes for a fun interactive element in an album, I find. I'm also going to try to get another Booo sticker book. Let me know, both of you! PS: I'll take a few smaller Mysterial scrap pieces if you have any left at the end of the season, Charwee! Thanks for offering. Just a couple of bits that can fit in a regular envelope at the cost of a regular global stamp, no need to spend more.

Finally have some extra time to respond to all the loveliness posted in this thread! 🎃 refugeepea Love your cards and I think your accident was more than happy: craftily meant to be! I would never have guessed those two are the result of something gone wrong. 😉 Your pattern paper picks for the strips of paper for the pink pumpkin + spider cards are so lovely. And of course, I have a soft spot for your ghosty Boo design... Beautifully done! blemon Gorgeous title page. Simple but striking. I don't think it needs a more elaborate title than the year: the die-cuts say it all. I'd totally put a stitch through the 2022 (provided you have a sewing machine). Stitches + puffy alpha/numerals = visual yum. Those two textures go scrumptiously together.

Explain more Sleepingbooty about the stitch. Just run a line on the sewing machine through the year?

That is gorgeous and who needs a title when it looks like that? Thank you!! No need for anything in return We'll see about that! I know there is lots here in the US that I can send. Do some searching. Any candy or anything? I just had to order those leaves for my October album. Gorgeous! They are incredible. The quality is lovely. put a stitch through the 2022 I will try that. I think it would look great. The acetate I adhered this all to is from Ali E. and very thick. I'm not sure it will work. I'll try it first on a scrap of something I have. October Dailiers, I am beat. I want to stay home tonight and craft but my daughter is marching in a parade in a festival in the next county over and I have to go there. I usually love this festival but I am just spent. Gotta suck it up though.

Someone handed me a Misfortune Cookie yesterday and wanted to know my fortune immediately. I was like "I can't open it now! I have to take a photo of it unopened, then cut open the package carefully to use on a page, then photograph the cookie, THEN read my fortune." What have I become? Also, Paper Pippi put up a vintage inspired Hocus Pocus download yesterday for anyone wanting to pay homage in that style. Paper Pippi

Those would make a great hostess gift for a halloween party, for sure. And I love that Paper Pippi stuff. This one reminds me of Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations of my childhood! Stuff in Europe is expensive. I think that would be no more than $3 at Target. What do you think? Am I too immersed in my dollar stores? Am I in a bubble of cheap?

Am I too immersed in my dollar stores? Am I in a bubble of cheap?Yes. Hema is a super affordable store, actually. Ask Charwee. You've got to factor in these are niche items over here. They will not be selling a large number of these so they can't place the mass orders a US chain would. Halloween is very much a newer and still an extremely limited celebration in Europe (mostly kids having a second Carnival-like costume party in the year). We don't celebrate Thanksgiving so pumpkin decorations don't have many takers. The same store has Happy Birthday garlands for 1€ so yeah, they're definitely not expensive.

This one reminds me of Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations of my childhood! Aww, they do have a retro look to them! Do you have any of your childhood decorations left? I bet they'd look gorgeous mixed up with your contemporary stuff. I will try that. I think it would look great. The acetate I adhered this all to is from Ali E. and very thick. I'm not sure it will work. I'll try it first on a scrap of something I have. Oh, indeed, a thick acetate could be problematic. Oops, I take back my suggestion. Looks great sans stitch, too, no worries!

Well I got my reason why page up, but not the title page.
reasonwhy by titlepage by I made the background months ago, playing with flicking paint on paper. Rummaging thru my stash, I thought this would be perfect for the title page. I had to paint my letters they started out light blue. My reason why page-also old background, used various stamps, stencil with stencil butter. Stamped Reason why on sticker paper-this has been a game changer so if you screw it up you can start over again.

Happy October 1st! I have very “fall” plans today to start the month off with a bang -heading to a farm with cider (regular and hard), corn maze, apple picking, pumpkins patch, cider donuts, pie, etc etc. Digging out my flannel even though it supposed to be 80 there! Lol

Yep, Hema and Flying Tiger (a similar shop but Danish) are really good value and good quality. There are pound shops over here in the UK that sell Halloween things (the holiday is much more prominant over here than the mainland, but I think there is a lot more Americanisation over here too) but they're not as nice. (I still buy it all though). I want a misfortune cookie! They look amazing!
Related: black cats and good fortune. In the States they're seen as unlucky, yes? I'm sure as a child, black cats crossing your path was seen as good luck here, but now, with the huge amount of American pop culture we get, a black cat is seen mostly as unlucky these days I think (our local cat shelter always has trouble getting their black cats adopted for this reason, which always makes me really sad. Maybe I live in an area surrounded by idiots?). Or have I got that completly wrong? What is it like where you live? I'd love to know the superstitions your country/area/culture have on cats.
Loving all the layouts and cards that you've all made by the way. Happy October! The trees are just starting to turn here, we've had a couple of gorgeous autumnal days. Yesterday was spent walking to the library and having a picnic in the park, reading books and basking in the actually quite hot sun. Today I am making pumpkin curry and working on last years December Daily. Nice and seasonal.

Black cat crossing from left to right is good luck, right to left is bad. Some people consider black cats unlucky because of their association with witches, it is super silly and a shame that they have such a hard time being adopted. Our weather has been unseasonably hot, so no leaves turning here. Yesterday I converted some Dollarish Tree doll houses into haunted houses for school. Today I am making chocolate mousse in cauldrons so we can watch Hocus Pocus one and two.

Related: black cats and good fortune. In the States they're seen as unlucky, yes? Same here with the shelters. Black cats don't get adopted as much. That is why we chose Milo. We really wanted a black cat. Yesterday I converted some Dollarish Tree doll houses into haunted houses for school. Genius. Today I am making chocolate mousse in cauldrons so we can watch Hocus Pocus one and two. More genius. I'm sure I have some cauldrons in the basement. I have got to go bring that stuff up and see what's down there. We haven't done much decorating or Halloweening the last couple of years.

The haunted house idea is all over Instagram, it is so stinking easy. I just flat blacked the ones for school because the kids won’t care if they have fancy details or not (although the ones with the lime green door I left the doors lime green because they are so pretty). I will try to quickly paint the furniture and I have to make the tiny ladies ghosty, but they are really simple. I have a bunch of little bones and tiny translucent pumpkins and spiders and eyeballs for them to play with in a bin with black beans so they can decorate around their Haunted Houses. I got a Vamparina doll house at the thrift store I will take more time with that will be part of our home Halloween decor. There are some parts of that I want the original color, so I will be attempting to disassemble that tonight.

I’ve never done this project but I kind of want to this year. I bought the AE Halloween kit & the studio calico one. Not sure if I will do a separate album or just in my PL. I doubt it would be daily but we’ll see. Seems like some days we have a bunch of fallish stuff going on and others nothing.
For those who do this project & PL do you include an insert or something else? I like the idea of finding prompts online.

Lucky you! I just came on here to post how sad I was that it sold out. For some reason I really like those odd moths in the die cut kit. I love that final Pebbles Halloween line. Pebbles was not really my style overall but I always, always got their Halloween releases. They killed it (ha) for spooky season year after year! Spoooky's die-cuts are a wee bit different because AC decided to print them on a glossy cardstock, not the usual matte one but otherwise I still love the pieces I have left (and am totally hoarding). The cheeky dancing cat paper is super fun, too! 😺 I know who to call. Subaru Outback, not a hearse. Haha, nice catch, refugeepea! 👍 Related: black cats and good fortune. It's a bit the same here, Charwee. There's a mix of good luck and bad luck associated with them. I've also learnt that completely black cats and dogs don't do well on the adoption market because they just don't photograph well. It's only in specific lighting that you can really start seeing some dimension to them. That's a major factor for lesser interest in them, unfortunately. It's not all superstition. One bad luck thing that hasn't translated at all over here is unlucky number 13. Thirteen is considered a good luck number in most of Southern Europe. And lottery ticket sales always skyrocket on Friday the 13th in France. Like, big time. Yesterday I converted some Dollarish Tree doll houses into haunted houses for school. Today I am making chocolate mousse in cauldrons so we can watch Hocus Pocus one and two. Ooooh, sounds so nice! *kitty-paw-reaches for some mousse* I've been biting my tongue re: Hocus Pocus 2 because no one else has been discussing it here... 🤫
