I have that one! My prized Nightmare collection (besides the OG Hasboro dolls) is my Cuckoo Clock.

Absolutely darling! That is one beautifully painted piece, by the way. So many have sloppy finishes or boring settings. This one not (at all). I totally see why it's one of your prized possessions. Thank you! Adding the episode to my queue. I love Danny Elfman's work and always regretted he didn't do more voice-over work for Burton. His Jack is legendary! Aww, love it. It's the perfectly coordinated wig and glasses for me... He wanted to be the speaking voice of Jack but voice acting is apparently not his forte. Tim Burton basically said he wasn't good, but diplomatically.

Hard to believe he couldn't get the speaking down. His "I, JACK, the. Pumpkin. King." is absolutely iconic. Every time we get to that part of the song, my SO and I just do our best and loudest impression at the same time.

Serena Bee is launching Beetleween after taking a 2-year break from creating collections! Coming soon. A little late to the game but I'm really glad to see her designing again. https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci-eTrdJ9h_

His "I, JACK, the. Pumpkin. King." is absolutely iconic. We went to see the film a couple of years ago at the Pittsburgh Symphony. They have these things where they play the movie without the score so the symphony plays the score live. It's incredible. This was my favorite part. The conductor was so into it. So funny. A little late to the game but I'm really glad to see her designing again. I'm excited about this too! I only learned about her from this thread so the timing is perfect.

I love it so much You guys will appreciate that when we got married my husband wanted "What Have I Done" to be the wedding recessional instead of "What's This". It would have been hilarious, I agree, but I didn't think anyone else would be as amused as us.

My husband and I actually bonded over our love of Nightmare. I was actually good friends with his sister first. I called her house one day and he answered the phone. Apparently I had woken him up and he was super cranky and rude to me. But he apparently liked my phone voice and told his sister and she said you know you guys would probably both really get along. She loves that Nightmare Before Christmas movie like you do. So he would arrange to just show up when we were out together and here we are, it is our 24th wedding anniversary this Halloween.

Thar is awesome! My dd is like whoa that is so cool! I've had it for about 20 years I think. I mostly keep it in storage because the water in the globe is yellowing and there's nothing I can do to fix it. A friend of mine gave it to me. It was an expensive gift even then! So cool! Thanks to the crazy decluttering journey I’ve been on the past 3 years I have learned how snow globes can be refilled when the water goes bad. It would definitely not be easy with this kind of thing but it can be done. The discoloration can be caused by algae growth so avoiding too much light will probably help keep that under control. The rubber seal/gasket that holds the water in can also degrade over time, dry out and start cracking or leaking, usually you can tell because the air bubble gets bigger and/or the music box starts to corrode/rust. I didn’t have a whole lot of success fixing up MIL’s old globes but I did find some guides and videos online.

Enabler alert at Peachy Cheap. I’m still figuring out my aesthetic for this project so I’m not sure if this kit is for me. http://instagram.com/p/CjCUhNwuY9X I bought the AE kit and a good bit of the Prima Luna line and those are polar opposites.

I have been lurking in this thread for ages. You lot are bringing me so much joy! It's the best time of year. I am resisting buying anything with cats on, but you're making it hard! DCWV's Mysterial managed to fall into my hands recently and it's gorgeous, gorgeous paper. I want to do something for October, but I've realised with how my brain is wired, I can't start a new project until I finish my current one, so if I can get last year's DD done by the weekend then I'll get a little kit for an October Occasionally together. I've had a day off work today and spent some time in TK Maxx and Flying Tiger (which is not as good as Hema, but cute enough) to buy allll the Halloween decorations and mugs. There's some good stuff out there! I couldn't resist this dude:

It would have been hilarious, I agree, but I didn't think anyone else would be as amused as us. I'm retroactively giving my vote to your husband on this one! Have you two ever done a TNBC anniversary celebration? The movie is such a classic nowadays that you could totally allow yourself such jokes. I have been lurking in this thread for ages. Join us, join us, join us! DCWV is a pain in the booty to find in France these days. So jelly you find Mysterial! Pastel goth galore for Halloween... Now stop haunting this thread and go finish your DD so you can play along with us in October. That is an order, ma'am. PS: Your new familiar looks magnificent. What have you called her/him?

The good news of the day is that as a family, we have #failedit. Luna is informally off the adoption market. The non-profit has marked her as reserved for my mother (and the rest of us - she is totally going to be everyone's pet and has already had a sleepover with me). We just need to wait for her to finish a medical treatment before she can be booked for her "fix". Only then can her adoption be completed. Paws crossed all goes well and she will officially be one of us in a few weeks' time. I'm so freakin' happy. She is one of the bestest puppers I've ever met. Jolly and cheerful 24/7. She goes up to people non stop. Strangers are just new friends waiting to be met! And she is doing great with my mother's newest foster, showing him around the garden, trying to teach him how to use the steps to get on the bed (he hasn't mastered it yet), playing with him. Also, she is totally an appreciator of the fine art of rest and lets my mother sleep in until 8 in the morning. She's the ideal match. I couldn't have started autumn with happier news... Apologies in advance if my October pages are 70% Luna.

Every year is a NBC Anniversary celebration for us! Every year in Halloween we have a special dessert from a local bakery that does Halloween themed desserts and we watched the movie -sometimes in French. In Our wedding was 95% Nightmare themed. I did wear a beautiful dress but I wore a Sally cameo necklace and the husband wore a Jack faces vest with his tux. The wedding party ladies wore pretty brown velvet dresses with Lock, Shock and Barrel jewelry. Other than the attire being mostly normal, everything else was Nightmare. The invitations, the RSVP cards, the guest book, the flowers, the music, the reception, the cake, the decor. Everything was either blatantly Nightmare or Nightmare inspired. We got married in a kind of Gothic and Historic church and they have a beautiful organ that only four or five people are allowed to play and we found one willing to learn to play the Nightmare music for us. One of my favorite touches were the RSVP cards. They had pictures of Jack driving his coffin sleigh and several people just called to RSVP because they weren't going to send back the cards -they wanted to keep them. If we ever win the lottery and renew our vows we will do it at Walt Disney world wedding area and we will have them play What Have I done as we walk down!

Every year in Halloween we have a special dessert from a local bakery that does Halloween themed desserts and we watched the movie -sometimes in French. Oooooh, Halloween desserts! You'll have to share what this year's is like. I am totally jealous of all the spooky pretties you guys have over there. And yes, I totally remember discussing your French version viewings of the movie but didn't realise they were for your anniversary. I'll have to remember to wish you a happy anniversary this October. Our wedding was 95% Nightmare themed. I did wear a beautiful dress but I wore a Sally cameo necklace and the husband wore a Jack faces vest with his tux. The wedding party ladies wore pretty brown velvet dresses with Lock, Shock and Barrel jewelry. Finally a wedding party I would've loved being part of! The Lock, Shock and Barrel jewels sound absolutely beautiful. You guys went all in! I bet those who attended still speak of your wedding... If you ever share wedding photos, please do tag me! (And now I have that Blink 182 song stuck in my head because of the "We can live like Jack & Sally if we want / Where you can always find me / And we'll have Halloween on Christmas" lines ). If we ever win the lottery and renew our vows we will do it at Walt Disney world wedding area and we will have them play What Have I done as we walk down! *le sigh* Congratulations on your new sister. She is beautiful. I hope you have many happy years together! You are going to be the best big sister ever!!! Aww, thanks! We're all potty about her and she seems pretty potty about us. My favourite sound when I get to my mother's place is her little nails tick-tick-ticking on the floor tiles as she runs towards me... I can't wait for all the adventures and snuggles ahead. Also, now that you mention the little/big sister thing, I should totally get us some matching sister T-shirts! #forthephotos #forthescrapbook

Hema have just added a glow-in-the-dark garland with die-cuts that are approximately 15 cm/6 inches high. I think the paper die-cuts are glow-in-the-dark, not the string... These would make for lovely inserts in October albums, methinks. If any of you are interested, I'm more than happy to pick a second garland up and send one of each die-cut in an envelope with global stamp to you as a RAK!
