I’m back to life and will post more later but I just saw this on Instagram and I’m seriously considering getting 3 empty happy meals. http://instagr.am/p/CinfErupjHk There is nothing vegetarian at McDs. They even spray the fries with lard. When I was in middle school (then called junior high - when did the term change??) - the cool kids would get these McD’s buckets and carry them around all month. Some as a lunchbox, some as a school supplies box. The *really* cool girls would keep all their origami-ish folded notes in in, like a mailbox. I was reatsanted to do it to, but I was too dorky to feel I could be a cool kid too. 😆🤣

honeypeaI think Middle School and Jr.High are two different things. Jr High is 7-9th grade. Middle School is 6-8th. At least that is what it is here. I went to Junior High and when they redusted the grade levels they changed the name to middle school. I love the idea of "cool kids" carrying the buckets around. In my parts that definitely would not have been the cool kids doing that.

Krystal made a similar page in her Oct album using this cut file Thank you! I think I can figure out how to use that one. My silhouette skills are limited but I will just use my punch to make bubbles that you pull out. I really like the oozy drips in this file. It was Stephanie Allaroundcrafty who I recommended. Thank you! I loved that one. I truly watched all the videos people linked but I was in a fevered state and don't remember them all. I just love the idea of a cauldron. Also I am making a cauldron with ornaments as bubbles and twinkle lights so I want that theme. This group is so great.

Can it be October now, please? My October SBTM kit and Halloween kit came from Ali on Thursday and I want to use them! I am also collecting fall stamps since I didn’t have any and someone should probably stop me but I have a feeling it won’t be this group! 😂

Me about to blow these Americans' minds: middle chool in France is called collège. My order with the first bits of Prima Luna I bought (got a little more in a second order, hehe) arrived. It's so pretty! And a perfect match for last year's Thirty-One. I got some stuff from Simple Stories at the same time and I can't pretend that the print and cardstock quality for the die-cuts isn't significantly below Prima's. Kudos to Prima for sticking with premium materials. I know they kind of have to due to the nature of the brand with all the mixed media work but dayum, I paid nearly exactly the same price for both brands. All that's missing from Luna is a dark night sky PP. Would have loved one with the cat head icon turned into the shape of a constellation with a foggy moon or something... Otherwise, it's pretty much perfection. Since they've used this colour scheme two years in a row for Halloween, I'm guessing they're done for next year. Secretly hoping they might pursue the pastel goth route and use lilac and mint instead of pink and orange next year... A girl can dream! There are two of each in the ephemera packs so I need to sit down and separate the ones I'm sure I won't use/need a second of so I can RAK them (simple letter envelope, 20 g global stamp). If anyone wants a few touches of Luna for their October Daily album, keep an eye on this thread the next few days.

I saw some really cute containers this year at a bigger sized dollar tree. They had lids too.
Also a visit to the local coffee shop Roast the Dead which is Horror Movie themed! Dd wants to wear her Haunted bride costume there and get photos. During Halloween they add a red balloon to Pennywise. LOL Oh! I noticed our local coffee place has a horror movie drink list? Not sure exactly. That's all I could read as I drove by. It was on a chalkboard on the sidewalk. I know nothing about coffee, but I found a chart online so I don't feel dumb ordering. I think I'm going to start with something really sweet, then slowly wean myself off.

People are losing their sh*t on Twitter that Wednesday (Netflix) is coming out on November 23 and NOT during Halloween.
I know I've mentioned it here before, but annually we watch Addams Family Values because of the Thanksgiving play scene. It's coming out the day BEFORE the American Thanksgiving and of course it's on a Wednesday!!! I personally think it's perfect timing.

Twitter is the void in which people let off steam and scream out their initial emotional reactions. The 2 Addams Family movies are often part of my October activities despite one being clearly set during summer. I can see people wanting Wednesday in time for Halloween and counting on it only to be disappointed with one extra month of wait. Personally, I'm looking forward to having Wednesday come out closer to Christmas. It's the perfect excuse for some darker vibes way after Halloween. The days are so incredibly short at that point of the year, too. I'm more than happy with a just-before-December release. Tim Burton does that in-between period so well. The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride are wonderful post-Halloween movies as well. It is what it is. My guess is that American Thanksgiving only dictated the release for the weekday, not the actual late November schedule. I don't think they were ready in time with this production for October, period, and slotted it at another point where they want to increase viewership and subscriptions. People who unsubbed will resub for Thanksgiving and likely not unsub just before Christmas due to time off between Christmas and NYE. So, basically, they just got 2 months of subscription out of many viewers with just one big release. Smart.

RAK: From this year's Luna collection by Prima Marketing. If you'd like a touch of Luna in your October album/on your pages, let me know. Pastel pink emo goth colour scheme. Sent in a plain letter envelope with a global stamp to anywhere in the world, no tracking.

I finished my Disney scrapbooking for now. I just have our EPCOT day left to do. I'll pick it back up in January.
But that meant I got to spend some time yesterday getting all of my October supplies organized.
I just have to go through stickers now. I think I'm going to store all of the sheets of things in a 5X7 clear organizer box. The box from the Ali Edwards Halloween kit is now full of that stuff and other flat things and I need to sort it out.
I went through all my loot from the Dollar Store and organized it too. They had some cool wood embellishments (skulls and jackolanterns). I got one of those clear plastic bins with dividers from Family Dollar and everything is fitting pretty good so far.
I'm working on my swap items now -- having so much fun with that. I should finish those tonight so I can get them packed up and ready.
Then I can start the October Daily. I think I want to use the cat acetate for my cover page. But it's pretty busy so I may end up using plain acetate and adhering a die cut or something to it. So many options! I can't wait to play.
What is everyone up to?

Even though I do watch Addams Family during October/Halloween, I also watch it all year round. I couldn't really tell from the 1 or 2 previews I watched what the level of humor will be?! Where on the scale does it compare to the first season or two of Sabrina? I always liked the tone that struck, some scary/freaky things, but then of course jumped the shark in later seasons. I have way more time to binge watch in the winter...I barely watch anything, but sports from April thru Sept. Hoping you all are having fun with your October planning.... I am trying to finish off some outdoor decorating, then going to pull out some halloween photos from last year to scrap.

Dh finished decorating outside on Saturday! 3 weeks ago I decorated inside and then did some outside decor - skeleton, hay bales with pumpkins and scarecrow, and spider.
Dh put up our inflatable Snoopy and new 6' spider on the upstairs front deck railing, lights, and front door light cover.
Spider webs will go up week before Halloween so they don't get ruined.
I have Indiana Bones dressed up in a robe with a wig and sun glasses, drinking a cup of coffee. Previous week it was wearing shirts and a KC Chiefs shirt.
Next weekend dh is going to make a stand so it can be standing up and hopefully water my flowers lol

Saw my first ad for Wednesday today and I'm so excited! I just listened to an interview with Christina Ricci and it was great. I barely watch anything, but sports from April thru Sept. Woah. I could never watch any sports. My daughter just started high school so I have to go to at least one high school football game to see her march with band in the halftime show and I am dreading it. OMG. This is hilarious. The wave! Best thing ever. OK: I need to share this with this group: I just listened to the WTF interview with Danny Elfman and it blew my mind: www.wtfpod.com/podcast/episode-1232-danny-elfmanSo he is the composer for almost all of the Tim Burton films. He's the singing voice of Jack Skellington and he wrote the entire score. He wrote the song for the Simpson's too. He's a freaking genius. So if you love Nightmare Before Xmas and Beetlejuice, listen to this interview. He talks about his process of composing and he said it just comes to him. Like all of it, all the layers, everything. He just starts hearing it in his head. Incredible. Anyway, he's one of my all-time favorites as Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie. (If Darcy had been better cast in Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly there might be some competition but seriously not even Groundhog Day comes close and it's also in my top 5). I'll post a little treat for you from my phone in a minute.

Thar is awesome! My dd is like whoa that is so cool! I've had it for about 20 years I think. I mostly keep it in storage because the water in the globe is yellowing and there's nothing I can do to fix it. A friend of mine gave it to me. It was an expensive gift even then!

Absolutely darling! That is one beautifully painted piece, by the way. So many have sloppy finishes or boring settings. This one not (at all). I totally see why it's one of your prized possessions. Thank you! Adding the episode to my queue. I love Danny Elfman's work and always regretted he didn't do more voice-over work for Burton. His Jack is legendary! Aww, love it. It's the perfectly coordinated wig and glasses for me...

I will have the least Halloween-y October month in this thread. It's really not a thing here. So far, I've spotted Halloween goodies IRL at 2 stores: Lush and Hema. Nothing elsewhere so far. My grocery store did have a few bags of Halloween-ified sweets and some ghosties hanging over the cash registers last years so I'm hopeful they'll get to it again.

Has anyone seen a cute October calendar to use in your OD? I’d love something journal card sized but Halloween themed or a digital file(s) would also be great. Paper Person just released one in this month's kit. But honestly, I don't think it's that cute. Maybe you can do something in Canva. I haven't messed with it but lots of people say how easy it is. That is one beautifully painted piece, by the way. So many have sloppy finishes or boring settings. It is definitely well crafted. I think it was about $100 when it first came out. It's from the actual Disney store and they usually have the quality to back up their extravagant prices. I started looking at NBC snow globes and there are some amazing ones. I immediately closed the window as I do not need to spend any more money right now. Did you know he did not do the talking, just the voice? Christopher Sarandon, a WVU alum (woot, my alma mater) did his speaking voice. Danny Elfman only did the singing. I loved him in Oingo Boingo and he was on Maron because he has an album coming out, the first in years. Christopher Sarandon comes to WVU every few years and meets with grad students. Great guy. It's really not a thing here. I feel for you. I hope you can make your own magic. Just think of all the other things you have that we don't: good bread, brie, well, that's all I can think of right now. Would love some decent brie or camembert but I would have to buy more than I should eat.
