I thought Catherine looked wrung out today too. They are grieving but still have so many public engagements. On another note - I think Eugenie is pregnant, I noticed when they were looking at flowers the other day, and seeing her today I'm convinced. I didn’t notice Eugenie today. Neither of the girls come to think of it. Where were they?

Can I be more of a pain in the neck than I normally am and ask if anyone is commemorating these events through scrapbooking pages and using the abbreviation for Her Majesty, then please use the correct form. QEII is the monarch. QE2 is a ship. Kind of funny (for lack of a better word, since we are discussing something sad) that you mention this... I saw someone on FB say "QE2" and someone else corrected her. And since we've just had the anniversary of 9/11 here I was immediately reminded of my annoyance back when people were doing 9/11 scrapbook pages and they would say "The Pentagon in Washington, DC". I had to correct that every time I saw it, since the Pentagon is very definitely not in DC.

Thete's a photo of Eugenie with her husband & Zara on her other side. She looks fuller in the face & her clothes ate baggier than she normally wears.

I had to run to Costco this morning, about 10 minutes after the procession started from Buckingham Palace. I had been watching BBC on my laptop, on the live feed. And when I got home I discovered that I can pick up right where I left off. If I skip to the end of the streaming thing I'll get to the current live feed, but everything that came before is still there. So I've got it live on the TV on CNN and I'm catching up with the procession on the laptop. lol

The reporter just said that the line is 2.8 miles long at this moment, and growing. I mean...excuse me, the queue. I loved hearing the British announcers talking about people "queuing up" and "the queue grows behind me".

I watched it this morning as well. I totally teared up when they passed the gates of Buckingham Palace. So sad. Loved the respectful and dignified way everything was handled.
I, too, was worried about the casket falling off the carriage. It seemed to get worse the further they marched. I noticed the flag draping the casket as well. I hope someone straightens it and puts the flowers on even.
Wonderful tribute so far today. I do feel sorry for the family as I am sure they are exhausted.

Well that was something else. Quite amazing. I think I was holding my breath for a lot of it. I'm catching up now with the procession, and those horses are making me nervous. lol. Two of the ones pulling the coffin are being naughty (as my dd said earlier, lol). I know they're well-trained, and I know the riders are absolute experts... but still, horses are horses, and if those naughty ones got it in their heads to cause a bit more trouble.. well yikes.

That's why I love it... it sounds so much more exotic than just a plain old "line". lol

Don't cut in line. LOL what I want to know is are people allowed to leave to go to the restroom or get something to eat? When I was in London in 1999, we queued for tickets for WImbledon. It was nothing like the queue for The Queen, BUT I feel like we were allowed to hold our space and one of us use the bathroom. pjaye, I actually thought Meghan was pregnant, with the cut of her dress when she went to see the flowers. Her face looked fuller too. I haven't noticed the others.

Yes, once they are in the queue proper they are given wristbands so if they need to get food or the loo they can get back in at their section.

I think she had fillers yesterday! Her face does look fuller than when she looked at the flowers, plus I read on another side that's the same coat she wore when she was pregnant the first time. I wouldn't put it past her to deliberately fuel speculation for the media attention...or because she potentially knows about Eugenie already. Let's not forget that Harry preached about how bad it for the environment to have more than two children.

But I assume they couldnt go home and sleep for 2 days and then come back, right?

Thank goodness for BBC World News which has kept me well informed of this sad time. I will be up in the very early am Monday to watch the funeral live. I've been watching the people file past the coffin and bow their heads. What an experience that must be. To think I was outside Buckingham Palace in May seeing all the preparations for the jubilee, wish I was over there now but thank goodness the English papers are having a lot of videos on their sites so I can play catch up during the day.

There is a report that one of the distant royal relatives (perhaps Lady Gabriella Kingston) passed out during the service earlier today. Honestly I always worry that someone will during these things. Standing still a long time can be problematic, especially if it was warm in there (I have no idea the temps in London today).

Also, if you look on YouTube there's The Telegraph, Sky News, and The Royal Family Channel... All have full videos of everything. And the best things about these -- at least The Telegraph and the Royal Family Channel -- is that there are no newscasters blathering on and on and on.

It's amazing to me how quiet it all is. I follow a tiktoker that is in London, but not in the actual line that is just saying how absolutely quiet it all is.

They wouldn't risk the Queen's coffin just sliding off as they went around a corner or over a bump. -- However, I was still worried about those horses up front. lol.

I've been watching the live feed of the people filing past the Queen's coffin. I might have shed a few tears when an elderly woman in a wheel chair bowed her head and then blew a kiss toward the coffin.

Deepest condolences to all subjects of the crown.
If she had done nothing more than standing strong against the terrible bombings of her country while still just a child, she would have accomplished so very much.
May she be in eternal peace.
May I add that King Charles has certainly risen to the day!
Signed, an American who stands in mourning with you.

So it's ok to bash Meghan in this thread but it's not OK to talk about the pen tantrums Charles threw. Got it.

I never understood the hatred against Megan , I truly believe that her skin color is the cause of most of it and I give a pass to Charles on this one because he’s probably physically and emotionally exhausted.

Not "unfouded rumours" though...just my personal observations about two private citizens. She's done it before, went around at Eugenie's wedding & told everyone she was pregnant. She didn't do anything to me personally but she did a LOT of damage to the members of the royal family that this thread is about...and not one of them deserved that especially not the person they are meant to hounoring today.. If you want to complain about unfounded rumours and garbage, then look at those two...not me. This thread is about all the hard-working royals and their years of service and I've very complimentary about about all of them. Harry & Meghan don't fit into that category though.

gar It's beautiful, Scotland is wonderful except for the midgies. The silence accorded the funeral procession is striking too. Reminiscent of Diana's funeral I thought. Maybe it's my age showing, or maybe it's just the vast differences in the time, IDK. Diana's passing came with such an utter shock of disbelief to me. I was riveted to the TV for days on end. The queen's passing... sigh. My emotions are so very different. I'm sad in a completely different way. Such extraordinary women, the two of them! There is something indescribably important (to me) about seeing the open outpouring of acknowledgement for them both. It's something that bypasses the mind and goes directly into the soul.

I think it is because Diana’s death was totally unexpected. I can still remember where I was when I heard the news. I was shocked and very sad. And like you, I am sad for the Queen, but in a different way. This time, I am more interested and sadden from a current event perspective.
