Just browsing through my Instagram stories, and WB's account shared a story. He is joining the cast of my favorite musical*! What an amazing accomplishment!
I completely understand why she is the proudest and busiest mum right now. That must be so exciting!

I didn’t think they were allowed to share, even on a private IG, for his safety… but yes, completely totally amazing. ❤️ I had figured it out based on a photo she shared (that didn’t look like Newsies) and had thought for a long time that he would be really cute in that role (after watching the movie) but didn’t imagine he might actually achieve that. |

I don’t follow his account so I couldn’t see what/how it was shared. The rules around the whole thing are so different than what I’m used to and Shimelle seemed to be bursting to share but couldn’t. I’m sure everyone here wants to celebrate him while also looking out for him It’s such huge news! Such a perfect role for him. I was so excited when I realized which show it was. One of my all time favs. |

I’m sure everyone here wants to celebrate him while also looking out for him It’s such huge news! Such a perfect role for him. I was so excited when I realized which show it was. One of my all time favs. I figured it out too but since she was so adamant about not sharing, I stayed mum. I figured that the intent was to protect the child actors somehow. What a plum role! Very exciting! I think the broken arm would have worked for the role too. |

But that is also why I didn't give any direct links or anything to the post. That boy is going to be famous! Hopefully Shimelle ordered a bunch of her new collection for herself to document all the good things happening. ETA: But upon reflection, I also haven't been in many lives at all this summer, so I really don't know how much information has been shared by Shimelle herself about it, and now I kind of feel bad I posted that. ETA Again: I altered my original post, I still feel bad! |

I hope Shimelle gets her new collection soon! It must be driving her nuts not to have it in hand. She mentioned recently about the Starshine stickers that were clear instead of cardstock like they had planned - I still remember how difficult those were to use. I haven't watched Amy's walk through yet but every time I see it in my feed I think Shimelle has finally gotten her box.

sarahsprettypapers If it's been announced publicly, maybe it's okay now. All of the children in the production have their names posted on the official website, but no photos. Maybe they don't initially publicize the kids or post their photos until they've proven themselves in a couple of performances in case they have to let them go? The part that gave me pause was that Shimelle was very clear in the intros of one of her last two live videos (I think it was the one previous to her most recent one) that even if someone guessed, not to post it. She didn't say "until the show announces it" or "until his management company announces it" or "until we announce it", so it was all very mysterious. Not knowing about the rules there or the reasoning behind it, I played it safe. Anyway, it's very exciting and she must be so proud!

I think that's the child protection thing - if you went to a performance and saw the kid playing the role and got obsessed with them (?) you wouldn't know which of the 4 boys it was, and not knowing their name, it might be harder to stalk them...? It's not perfect protection but it does give the family a little more privacy and security. |

Shimelle just posted on Instagram that she gave This Year's Story class members access to some of her earlier content because she feels bad about the lack of current class content.
I am going to be honest, I don't remember which classes I have previously paid for (ha!), but I think I was given access to 3 new things (two Glitter Girl classes and one Hitchhiker's class). That was nice of her!
Everyone should go see if they have new fun things to watch!
ETA: And I think True Stories may have been added as well, I don't recall purchasing that one either... but I could be mistaken.

Just trying to understand how the whole process works! While this is only a guess, but the scrapbook.com warehouse is in Arizona I believe, and there are lots of wildfires going on there right now. That may be impacting deliveries. |

artbabe I ordered from A Cherry On Top, then grabbed the three missing embellishments from Frank Garcia Studio. My Frank Garcia Studio order arrived Tuesday, however, I'm still waiting on my ACOT order to arrive.

Did Shimelle ever say when/if she would be adding Journal Your Christmas videos? She only posted until 12/25 and she usually goes through the 12th day of Christmas.

The colors don’t go together to me (magenta, purple, navy, etc) and the icons are all over the place. I watched her flip through, and some papers flat out don’t belong (I’m talking about the yellow sun paper and the softer yellow and blue floral). Furthermore, some papers are repeats of past designs (the wood grain with rainbow stripes, the cameras).
Anyway, I know this will be an unpopular opinion because a lot of people love her, but this collection was a huge miss for me.

I am glad to see Shimelle back, but I am going to take a pass on this collection. It doesn't really work for me. There are a few pieces that I would pick up if I saw it IRL, but I am not going to go out of my way to get it. I have LOVED some of her collections in the past--her Christmas collection is one of my favourites and I love both her travel collection and first collection, but this one is not something I need. I am happy to see her back designing again, though. It's always nice to see some variety from AC and I'll be interested to see if there is more from her given that this seems really popular. |

I adore her teaching style and was thrilled to hear about the collection. Overall, just not my cup of tea for the stories I'm telling right now. |

I like most of the new collection and bought quite a lot of it but it's totally fine if it's not your thing! It wouldn't be great if we weren't free to share our opinions or had to like so the same thing, so as long as you're not nasty (which nobody was) then saying you don't like it is fine!

That’s what we’re all here for! I do have to kindly disagree, though. I’ve actually never bought a huge amount of her collections because they were way too sparkly, and cutesy for my style. I love a lot of this one due to the versatility of the papers and icons. I almost never use just a single collection/manufacturer on my LO’s, so it will be fun to mix it all up, and the more generic feel of the icons will make that easier for me than trying to force something that I’m on the fence about. But, that’s just me. That’s what makes the world go ‘round! |

She always says she intends to do x y or z to finish off the year’s class but she never does (I’m a fan but I’ve waited for the last thing she’s promised for many many years in a row now and learned it isn’t going to happen). Unfortunately I think she got overwhelmed and started having major anxiety last year with all that she had going on. I think she had to do the bare minimum to finish her album or she might have just set it aside. I recall her apologizing for the struggles she was having but the more she felt bad about it the worse the anxiety seemed to get. She usually shows her previous year’s albums so when we get the emails this December there might be more info but IIRC she had let it go before the 12th day. |

This is absolutely the place to say that - the thread name is *all things* positive or not. No collection works for everyone. I’m happy she’s designing again, but it’s still American Crafts and they make some very strange design decisions, presumably based on what they think retailers think will sell. I like some of the collection, some parts were a pass. I’ll see how it looks when people start using it. There were a few lovely papers I would use in big pieces for cards but I wasn’t paying attention to see whether the ephemera would actually work for how I craft or not. |
