This is probably the wrong thread to post this in, but I actually don’t care for her new collection. A few pieces here and there are ok, but as a whole, I don’t really get it. The colors don’t go together to me (magenta, purple, navy, etc) and the icons are all over the place. I watched her flip through, and some papers flat out don’t belong (I’m talking about the yellow sun paper and the softer yellow and blue floral). Furthermore, some papers are repeats of past designs (the wood grain with rainbow stripes, the cameras). Anyway, I know this will be an unpopular opinion because a lot of people love her, but this collection was a huge miss for me. It is perfectly ok to post this here! No one is going to love every single collection that comes out. I personally am a fan of her new collection, just because the bright colors make me happy. That's all, a Marie Kondo, it brings me joy sort of thing, ha. I feel like this new collection very much fits Shimelle's style, as she is not a theme scrapper. She has said before that florals, butterflies, rainbows and cameras are nice, generic icons that can work for embellishing any photo, no matter what the subject is. Words too. I also think she takes the opportunity to help fill the gaps that seem to be missing in the scrappy world with her collections. For example, all of that purple. Apparently purple is a difficult color to manufacture as it may fade over time, so that is part of the reason why it is not often used in collections (aside from Halloween themed ones). Same with the purple letter Thickers. She mentioned in a live session recently that purple letters are hard to find, so she made them happen. I agree that the collection doesn't seem to be cohesive, and I think that may be because there is no underlying theme connecting the iconography with the color scheme. But I also think that's what helps make all of Shimelle's collections look distinct from one another. And concerning the repeating paper patterns, I have noticed that with other AC brands as well. Paige Evans and Maggie Holmes definitely have repeated paper patterns, just in a different color schemes. In fact, PE and MH collections are starting to look the same to me. I feel like Cocoa Vanilla does this occasionally as well, especially with the floral designs. |

I was finally able to order Shimelle's new collection (I had to make sure I didn't spend all of my money on vacation, first!), and it should arrive tomorrow! I am just excited for some new things to play with.

I was finally able to order Shimelle's new collection (I had to make sure I didn't spend all of my money on vacation, first!), and it should arrive tomorrow! I am just excited for some new things to play with. Congrats! I was able to get the paper pad from SSS with the recent free ship. I had to order paper storage mainly. The papers were too fun to pass up on. |

In today's lack of lss, I'm always happy to see new collections being created, pretty much anything that keeps scrapbooking going. I don't always like the products or collections but celebrate that there is still creativity available for us to enjoy.
I have loved Shimelle's videos and education since first discovering her on the old 2Peas site. This new collection is not exactly in my wheelhouse but I did pick up several sheets of pp which should work well with other patterns and designs.
It's wonderful that we all have different styles and favorites and I celebrate each and every one of us for being part of this hobby.

KikiPea Your layout is lovely! Note to self: scraplift that. 😊 My papers have arrived and I am a very happy scrapper. The colors are just so bright and cheerful! Already made notes of which papers I will need duplicates of, and I am still waiting for the die cuts to come back into stock. I do have a slight issue though. I ran out of plastic sleeves to store my paper collections in! Hmm. Looks like some reorganizing will have to happen today. ETA: Apparently ACOT recieved some more Shimelle die cuts, because I just recieved another shipping notification. Yay for more goodies!

@sarahsprettypaper thanks for the heads up about the ephemera pack in stock at ACOT! I grabbed a second pack plus a few things from the Bella Blvd. Lake Life collection.
The phrase stickers are sold out everywhere. I wonder if there are supply chain issues with this product? Shimelle doesn’t even have it yet. I hope everyone gets a shipment soon.

These layouts are killing me!!! They are so creative and cute! I can’t wait for my order to arrive.
I have enjoyed using most things from every collection Shimelle has designed. Her colors are definitely bright and busy, so what works for me is to mix her papers in with tamer papers and then I can love and enjoy them. To use only one collection for all the paper/embellishments is a bit much for me, for pretty much ANY collection, but with some of Shimelle’s designs, a little can go a long way in making an impact!

Glitter Girl taught me how to scrapbook. The idea of using multiple collections/manufacturers on a single project is my normal mode of creating because of Shimelle. To me, it feels intentional that her collections are busy & bold & far reaching in theme. I feel like they promote the type of creating you’d find if pulling supplies from different collections/manufacturers, except that it’s just one - hers.

Shimelle posted 4 new videos for the This Year's Story class under the class materials section. Yay for new things to watch! Looks like they are the February pages, so I imagine this will be it for me. I only paid for the introductory class, not the whole year.
