I so wanted to do JYC this year, but my personal life is a mess, and my Mom just went in the hospital today. Not a happy time. Hopefully I can do the prompts after things calm down. Hope your mom is feeling better soon.

Has there been any updated information for the Use Your Punches class? There are some questions, and comments on the page for the class but no reply.
I think was June? Maybe, or July that I paid for the class.

Journal Your Christmas is just finished this week so I'm crossing my fingers for you all that punches is next on the list of things to be taken care of. WB's theater contract has been extended to the end of summer so there's not much chance that things are going to get less busy any time soon. She has made comments about time management recently, so I think the long to-do list is weighing heavily on her mind.

And This Year’s Story. I paid for the year.
I love her but man, I won’t be forking out any money any time soon.

I'm still - ummm - optimistic, that we'll get the class....... eventually. I paid for it back in June I think, so seven months ago.
I hope that from now on, she doesn't offer a class until the content has already been made in advance. This has left a sour taste in my mouth, and reluctant to pay for any more of her classes. Which is a shame, because I really like her and her classes.

But lesson learned, I'll also wait until the content is finished going forward.

With Shimelle, I always sign up with a bit of reluctance, knowing it will likely be late and not everything that is promised, but what I do get is generally still worth it, and I’m really behind on classes anyway. I love her and what she brings to the community. So I, like many others, give her a pass. That said, it is completely unprofessional and disrespectful of people’s time and money, and taking advantage of the kindness of the community. Women all over the world work full-time jobs and manage their kids’ activities and make it work. She needs to figure this out.

She’s been paid and basically stopped showing up for work. I understand life happens but this is a pattern with her classes. She overcommits and/or doesn’t sufficiently account for the time she needs to invest into the classes she offers. We all have competing obligations. It is difficult to keep all of the balls in the air all the time. She appears to be either burnt out, spread too thin, or a combination. Because I love her energy and her classes, I hope she finds a better balance and starts following the recommendation from AussieMeg

Just saw a comment on her live stream and she said that she's working on both the punches and the year classes and will have an update on Monday's live. 🤞
Hopeful but don't hold your breath.

Do you not feel cheated that you paid for 'xyz' and only got part of that AND it was late? Sure, if you got everything promised then whatever you paid was (obviously) worth it to you. But is it still worth the full payment that you'd made if you don't get those things?

She’ll do an extra video, or even add free (past, finished) classes to your account.

But is it still worth the full payment that you'd made if you don't get those things? me, no. Because I still get "content" from her - the BOBW stuff - I feel like I continue to learn/enjoy her product even if it isn't exactly what I'm waiting for! I also have finished all the classes I've ever taken from her, and use the information, so those classes were good value, compared to other classes/events I've purchased (for a lot more $$) and found really lackluster, boring, useless, and haven't finished. I still think specifically about 3 classes I bought that I really thought were poor - wasted money - I feel cheated. OTOH Shimelle's stuff - late, frustrating to wait, but I trust it will come and I will enjoy/use it.

I feel like the low price (I've only bought inexpensive classes from her) means that I get more than my money's worth from the content - she has completed all the classes I've bought except Punches which as we all know isn't started yet and I buy knowing they'll be late and knowing she has a habit of overpromising. I would not be as happy if I had bought the year long class for instance but tbh - that was a factor in deciding not to buy it

I enjoy what she does provide, I know she’s going to say she will offer extra stuff and it never happens. But her price point is low compared to a lot of others and for what she *does* provide. So I wait. I did buy the yearlong class because of the discount, knowing that it would fall behind. I wish she would put effort into her paid content and take a pause on her free lives until she catches up. And I wish she would communicate in ways other than her lives, because I don’t have as much time to watch those.

Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t another instructor of scrapbooking that provides me with as much enjoyment and practical information as Shimelle. Maybe I am just grumpy, anxiously waiting, knowing how much I’ll get out of the class. kitbop is right, there are so many classes that I have purchased that didn’t provide anywhere near the content that Shimelle’s do. Yesterday’s BOBW was so great, I already did a layout following her suggestions. It was SO much fun to make. Whenever I scrap, it’s almost always a Shimelle layout that I go to for inspiration.

It's perfectly within reason for this to leave a sour taste in your mouth. She does this type of thing over and over. As several have said it is very unprofessional way of doing business. As they say "keep doing what you've doing and you will keep getting what you've been getting." As long as most give her a pass, well why change?

I still don't understand why people keep paying for her classes, even after all the reasoning and justifying. I've read all the excuses and reasons, but I guess I'll never get it. I hope everyone gets what they paid for, though.

Same thing happens with Kelly Purkey and Studio Calico. I quit both of them years ago and haven’t looked back, but many people keep holding on.

I haven't been able to watch Shimelle's Live scrapbooking videos in a while, and I'm curious if she has mentioned a new collection with A/C? I think Main Character Energy was well received and I'm hopeful this means she will release another collection!

Someone asked recently if she had a new collection coming and if she was allowed to talk about it. Shimelle responded that she’s not allowed to discuss upcoming collections. She didn’t actually say “no” though. I’m taking that as a positive sign because I want another collection!

Even though I've emailed her at least twice Use Your Punches class still doesn't show up in my class listings. I'm not in too big of a rush since nothing is out there yet but I'm sure tired of the headache involved in just getting access to what I've paid for. I have to contact her every time I purchase a class.
