no scrapping today but I did do a sewing project. DD16 wanted a cape - she originally wanted it to be black fleece lined with green fleece but I nixed that. We compromised on black fleece with a green broadcloth hood lining. Not great pictures as it's dark in here but...

Ooooh! Cool creepy cape, Linda! Dh's scan went really fast. I dropped him off 90 minutes before his scan was booked for (as they had recommended), and drove to WM to print pic's. Barely got there--with a quick drive thru at Tim Hortons--and he called to say they were DONE! I finished my photo printing order and drove to pick him up--still 30 minutes before it was supposed to start. We stopped for lunch and to pick up my photos and then staight home. No results from his doctor yet. Today I went into town for groceries, and my flu & covid shots--one in each arm. Dh plans to get his tomorrow or Friday. Our pharmacy is taking first come/first serve. Have a couple of pages on the go on my scrap counter. Still have the feeling they "need something" but not sure what it is. Maybe if I sleep on it... Craft sale season is amping up around here. Planning to meet justjac at a local community centre on Saturday. I see there is another one planned in our own Arts & Leisure Centre for the weekend after Halloween. But that one includes wine tasting and a fashion show and the tickets are $35. I snapped a pic of the poster today and will call the number on it to find out how this is going to work. Waving to all the Pokeys. Happy Wednesday!

Thanks grammadee - she'll wear it for a friend's party but I'm reasonably sure it's going to be in frequent rotation for just wearing also - it's a good fit for her quirky style. Glad your DH's scan went well - fingers crossed for helpful results. Have fun at the craft sales. Trying to get projects finished up here before I leave Sunday. Not sure if I'm going to manage anymore of Cardtober - might have to pick it up again in November when I get home (unlike grammadee - I don't travel with scrap supplies)

Just a quick note. Most of DH's stitches were removed so his eye is now open. He still has a bunch that will be removed on Friday if they look ok. He was given permission to return to work if he is really careful and only works a few hours. He is really looking forward to going tomorrow morning. That will help his mental health, I'm sure. I got a few cards made, but haven't had time to get them posted. Hopefully in the next couple of days. I really want to try all the challenges. Linda , your DD's cape is delightful. I have a DD who would have loved something like that to wear on cold days in High School. It's a great Halloween look, but also such a practical part of her wardrobe. She looks cute. Have a wonderful time with your older kids. I'm glad you are getting away. grammadee , I hope your DH's tests come out great. I'm glad he didn't have a very long wait to get the procedure. I just went for blood tests this morning and waited over an hour after I was all checked in. Have fun with all your new photos. I envy you the Craft Fairs. We had a big one the day DH had his last surgery, so I didn't get a chance to go enjoy it. There should be another a little closer to Christmas. kitbop , you are still in my prayers. I hope things go smoothly as you deal with all the furniture and other items. I am sending big hugs. Take care of yourself while you are so busy. Eat and sleep! I haven't been in the gallery yet to comment on your projects, but I will....soon! Will chat more later.

Not sure if I'm going to manage anymore of Cardtober - might have to pick it up again in November when I get home (unlike grammadee - I don't travel with scrap supplies) I take scrappy supplies when I am going to be home alone while at their place--while kids are in school; parents at work. But if you will be busy spending time with your dd and ds while there, then there would be no point in tucking in a small "crafty go-bag" to your luggage. I'll bet you are really excited. Hoping you have a wonderful trip!

Very cool cape you made Linda! Still broadly sorting here. SO many boxes for thrift, bags of recycling. SO much that can be sold...if we lived here. Antiques upon antiques - but things you need the "right" buyer for, and they don't appear in 2 days. I think it will have to go through an estate company and hope they are honest and good at selling these things. I did find "my" box - notes, letters, movie stubs. I ditched a lot of it - movie stubs without info - but a lot I had jotted the names of the people I went with and what I thought of the movie - so I kept those. And - I found my STICKER ALBUM! Wow, blast from the past and definitely the foreshadowing of my love of scrapbook supplies I don't want to throw it out! I guess I could take photos of every page and throw it out??? We'll be leaving Saturday for home and will make another trip in January to complete sorting and sending to auction or a storage unit... The plan is to rent this place starting in the Spring. It would be impossible to buy again here on the coast and we're not sure if we want to let it go yet. The rental market is strong, so... never thought I'd be a landlord though!

Linda that cape is so cool! I know at least one small child and two adult men that would totally wear something like that lol! Can't wait to hear about your trip to see the big kids! nylene I hope DH's stitches are healing like they should And I'm happy for BOTH of you that he can work a few hours lol. I hope you get some rest for yourself! grammadee how long before DH will hear back on his tests? Man that was fast! I need to get in and get bloodwork done. You go to so many fun seasonal events, I need to see what is going on here. But when I'm off work, I want to stay home and relax! Even though work is at home, it's NOT the same lol. kitbop how fun you found your sticker book! My mom has been doling out all the stuff she kept from each of us now, so she can get it out and have room. I know we will be glad she did that when she's gone. Not sure I envy you being a landlord lol. Was moving to BC ever part of the plan for you guys and your mom's house? I know what you mean about missing your stuff - and your kids! I always miss my stuff when I'm away for long lol. I figured I was just a weirdo that way Glad to know I'm normal! Rudy is back into Pokemon Go which means so am I. He'll be here for a few hours Saturday and I'm sure we will be out catching pokemon lol. His mom is going to be induced around the first of the November, the baby is big. I've been wanting to scrap, but my table is a mess. I cleaned that up last night and now I'm getting itchy to scrap, so hopefully tonight.

joyfulnana I will try to drop in on your crop, even if it is just to chat a bit. Those shots I got yesterday (Moderna in one arm and the flu shot in the other) really did a number on me. All my joints ache and both arms are really sore. I took a couple of hot baths and some Advil a couple of times today, but that didn't take it all away. Hoping to get a better sleep tonight (last night I woke up every time I went to move b/c my arms hurt so much). So I was moving pretty slow today. I did manage to finish a LO today that had been sitting here a couple of days. Then I put together another one. I had so many good pic's of those girls at the farm this summer and I wanted to use them ALL... Tomorrow dh plans to go to town for coffee in the morning, so I am hoping to put together at least one LO. I did some inking this evening for the background.

kitbop, I am glad you are about ready to return home. It will be nice to have "your things" around. I hope you have a good experience with an estate company. We did that with Dh's mother's home. We each took what we could use and they sold the rest. It turned out to be a nice nest egg. I was glad I wasn't there to watch everything go. I have heard only good things about local estate sellers. I hope that holds true for your area too. Hugs and prayers as you complete all this work. How fun to find your sticker book. My girls all had them, but I think they must have left with the girls. They aren't still here. grammadee, when will you know about DH's tests? I hope he gets good news. I am sorry your Covid/Flu shots have been hard on you. We were lucky and didn't have any reaction at all this time. I hope the body aches leave quickly. Hooray for inking on your LO. I am planning to do some inking today too. I want to see if I can get a couple more card challenges done. joyfulnana, I hope to hop on to the Crop on Sunday. That's a good time for me to jump on for a while. I'm missing everyone! Linda, have a wonderful trip! kellyr21, are you back at home yet? I hope so. What fun things are you making? DH had the rest of his stitches out today. The eye is looking pretty good for all it's been through. They still need to laser his skin graft to smooth it out, but that will be a few weeks out. He feels like he has a whole new lease on life. It's so good to see him enjoying life again. I'm off to play with paper!

we drove into Jax last night to have dinner with DS30 - he spent the past several days there on a temporary assignment. Made for a long day - 2hrs each way driving meant we got home around 1130 - but so nice to get to spend a little time with him. We weren't going to be able to go because DH had eye surgery scheduled for yesterday but it got cancelled last minute because he wasn't 30 days out from his positive covid test. We go back to Jax on Sunday for me to catch my train. nylene - so glad your dh's eye is improving. That's been quite the ordeal. grammadee - hope the side effects wear off quickly. joyfulnana - I'll be catching my train at 5 so will be on the road when the crop starts. Have a blast!

Thanks joyfulnana - a little disappointed as instead of being on leave all week, DS will be flying to a temporary duty on Tuesday and won't be back until the 30th (which means he won't be home for his birthday )but that's how the military rolls so...at least I'll have some time with him at the end before I have to leave.

Linda, I am sorry that your DH has to have eye surgery! Is this something that he knew he would have to have? Will it be scheduled after you return home? That's sad that DS won't be around the whole week for you to enjoy him. Glad he will have some time with you before you have to leave. I'm sure your DD is eager to have you come. Do you have any specific plans with her? I am doing some reorganizing of kitchen stuff today. I have a lot of things that are not in the most convenient (handy) places and I am tired of having things out on my counter. I decided I needed to take a quick 2Peas break.

I don't drive so he would have had to ask someone to drive him anyway. DD and I have plans to go hiking on park trails and go to an art gallery and ride a trolley and ... it'll be fun Good luck with the kitchen re-organising - I probably need to do that also.

Safe travels home, kitbop. I hope you have allowed for some time to just rest once you get there. And to visit your kids, Linda. Too bad your ds's schedule is not in sync with yours. Good you got to see him this week. But it sounds like you and dd will have a wonderful time. YAY for your dh feeling more like himself, nylene. Had fun cruising the craft fair today with justjac, looking for fun gifts for family. When dh gets into the house and gets cleaned up--he is doing some construction work out in one of his sheds--we will be heading out for yet another community's fall supper.

**I originally posted this is another thread by mistake - glad I went back and noticed!
I'm home! And my own bed felt like heaven. Although there is a tremendous amount of work to be done here and still in organizing my mom's situation, I can at least pace myself and take craft breaks. Psychologically, I'm actually going to have a harder time working here at home: at my Mom's there was nothing else to do and with the "deadline" of flying home, all I did was work. Here, there are distractions and plenty of other/fun things to do. I'm sure you can appreciate how suddenly inheriting 100 lbs of heritage/childhood photos feels overwhelming at the start!
We checked 3 large bags to fly home (paying through the nose for checked bags these days) in order to bring extra clothes, photos, music and things. But there is SO MUCH at her place I'd like to keep. Not sure how that is going to work out.
Anyone up to crop next Saturday? I can host?

kitbop, I am glad you have made it home safely. I may be up for a crop next weekend. I was looking for one yesterday because I was free. linda, I am happy to hear you are feeling better. nylene, I am glad your DH was able to get his stitches out. I hope he continues to heal. grammadee, how fun that you got to meet up with justjac and shop at a craft fair. I have been on vacation from work for a few days now. I am off till November 10th and it is much needed! I am having a hard time being awake during the day. I took my sweet pugs to Pets & Pumpkins downtown. It is always a fun event! I brought Phoebe's wagon since she doesn't tolerate walking long distances anymore. She was a 50's diner girl. Her sister, Zoe, just wore one of the many tutus I have on hand. Earlier in the week, Zoe was ill. I came home from work one morning and her belly was distended. My husband lets her get into things she shouldn't. When I questioned him, he had no clue what happened. Her belly got soft, had bowel sounds, etc. I didn't think much more of it. Last weekend, she wouldn't eat. When I was getting ready for work Tuesday evening, she started vomiting. By Wednesday morning I called my vet and he told me to bring her in that afternoon. Before I took her in she vomited. It was large and I had to pull this out of her mouth! It was like some fiberous stuff! I saved that and brought it with me. My vet examined her and she was checking out alright. I showed him what she vomited and they were all amazed! He decided that she didn't need an abdominal x-ray with how much she vomited and felt like that was the problem. It must of been. She is eating and acting like herself again! I hope she has learned her lesson. I have joined an urban sketchers group here and working on improving my drawing skills. My elementary art teacher is in the group! It was so fun to see her again and catch up! I am excited I have found this group of ladies. I am at the coffee shop and they are about to close. I have started asking for decaf coffee if I end up going to coffee shops later in the day. For some reason, the screen on my Macbook keeps jumping making my eyes go crazy.

knutschen - so glad you have some time off work. That sounds *awful* what Zoe vomitted up! I'm sure it was completely obstructing her; nice of her to get it up rather than you having to pay for x-rays and surgery But I'm so curious as to what it was! Was she into any garbage? There could be string or something that was maybe soaked in yucky juices that a dog would think tasted good

Happy Monday, Pokeys! I am sitting here smelling the fresh bread in the breadmaker and beef barley soup in the oven, thinking how much I love the aromas of autumn. Pumpkin spice and apple pie is right up there, too. Temps dropped down to -10C last night. Ds called while he was driving from the airport to his camp job in Saskatchewan and said he was driving through a blizzard with freezing rain under the snow on the road. Maybe it is already moving past autumn here soon. It was good to chat with those of you who were on the crop yesterday. I made myself pull out my Glimmer System again today and foiled some more card fronts. A few more villages and some ornaments. Using my new process does cut down on foiling bloopers. It is different from how all the experts demonstrate it, but it works for me. And I think I [finally] have figured out the trick for extricating the platform from the base. Hopefully I will remember all that when next I pull that thing out of the cupboard again. Getting my hair done tomorrow--full meal deal, so all morning. Then mail and groceries and home. Wednesday I will be packing up for the weekend crop. Linda, I hope you arrived safely at your dd's and that you have some time to rest up after your red eye train trip. knutschen I would love to see a pic of your pups dressed up for that event! nylene I hope all is well with you and your dh.

Just to take the fear of Canada away from our American friends... here in Southern Ontario we are in shorts and t-shirts, at about 75 degrees (22 C) And last week, in BC, we also enjoyed above 75 degree temps all week. You just gotta be careful where you pick to live grammadee - glad you pulled the glimmer system out again! Your first card was so BEAUTIFUL - if you can get it working consistently for you it seems worth it?

I had planned to get on the Crop on Sunday but forgot that it was Alex's Primary Program that day. The college kids were home for it so we spent the day with the family. I missed having the chance to chat with the Peas. I hope next weekend will work. More medical appts yesterday, but I think we are back on a more even keel. Dh has been going to work for a few hours and seems to enjoy being out. We have had our first snow and it has turned cold. My joints are really not liking the cold. kitbop, I'm glad you are home and that it feels comfortable. I hope the rest of your plans for the home and furnishings goes as you have planned. It's a big job and I worry about leaving all this stuff for my kids to have to sort. knutschen, I am so sorry about your kitty. I'm glad she was able to get it up to avoid surgery. My sister and husband have a big turtle that roams the house. One day she could see something hanging out from behind him. When her husband came home they found that he had eaten a fabric scrap (she's a quilter) and it was going clear through. So as I read about your Zoe, my first thought was "fabric". Glad she is ok now. Have a great vacation from work. I would love to see photos of your dressed up pups and also some of your artwork. A sketching class sounds like fun. grammadee, your weather sounds much worse than ours. I can feel winter coming and I dread it. Glad your DS arrived safely after a treacherous drive! Your beef and barley soup sounds so good, I think I will make a big batch of soup today too. Have a great day at the hairdresser. I have given up on color but am scheduled for a perm next week. Linda, hope the trip was ok and you have arrived safely. Have a great time with DD and later on with DS. Waving hello to scrappyrabbit! It's nice to see you popping in. Have a great week everyone. I hope to get a bit of scrapping in.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are hanging in there. We have been living in a construction zone for weeks now. They started taking out the pool or redoing it and boy was that a noisy mess. It has been so frustrating at times adjusting to all the changes and noise. Some days it's quite like today and other days I have to leave for the library. Not sure when they will be finished with everything but I hope by the holidays.
Good news is we got a new car for my dh so I get to have our other car. 😀 He got a Ford Fusion and we love it! So now I am thinking of the fun things I can drive to during the day. Lol!
I will be popping back in soon. Hugs to you all and I am thinking and saying prayers for you and your families.

Oh kellyr21, I don't envy you all the construction noise! But I hope you enjoy having a vehicle to tool around with on your own. Maybe you can escape to somewhere more quiet. Glad that things are getting back to normal for you two, nylene and that you are playing with paper again. And that you got to spend some time with the family. knutschen those Halloween pups are really CUTE! Today I packed up a bunch of stuff to lug to this upcoming weekend's crop. Less than I have been known to pack up in the past, but way more than I will actually be using. I just like to have options once I am there. Tomorrow I will pack the crop stuff into the vehicle and then maybe vacuum and dust a bit in here. I also have a bag available to tuck in some extra things if an inspiration hits me. I don't leave until Friday, but this way I won't need to load and unload all in one day. The sad thing is that even though the stuff for the crop is all out in the living room, this scraproom still looks pretty full Going through my dies to decide what to pack, I found some that I had misplaced, and selected some that may be fun to use for Christmas cards. Plan to start on those after I get back from the crop. Tonight I am rewatching Jennifer McGuire holiday card videos to get some ideas. Not that ideas are usually the problem. Alot of the time I have too MANY ideas, none of which I can figure out how to pull off...
