A nice red for the holidays would be great! I keep hoping for a silver grey!

What really bothers me is that it’s not October 29 yet. And A+ for effective marketing! Such anticipation for one little color.

What about another shade of purple? Seeing as purple is trending. I know a long while back I needed a grey to make a shadow effect and didn’t have it. I notice I don’t have pumice stone. Maybe that’s what I need? The blue I often need isn’t in the palatte but I doubt if there will be more blues.

I'm honestly terrible at guessing what the colour will be, but I will almost inevitably need to talk myself out of it when it's released. I agree with this. I don’t think I’ve ever guessed even close to the right color.

It’s nice when you want some tone to the background, but just a little. Mixes well with brown and lots of other colors to mute them. Seems perfect for shadows! Purple is always ok with me!

I think saltwater taffy is a little more pink than peach. Blending a little yellow with saltwater taffy makes it more peachy. (Easier with Oxides for me.) Peach in general is a slightly pink orange, so in theory red and yellow can be mixed to get it, but to get a soft, light peach, pink and yellow can be mixed instead since pink is light red. Dark peach moves into coral. Hot usually refers to a very bright, saturated color, like hot pink. Saltwater taffy doesn’t appear hot to me. Color nerding… I see the colors better when they're swatched out. If you look at the 2 colors compared, you can see that Saltwater Taffy is definitely more orange than pink. Looking at the swatches again, some of the colors are a bit different than in real life - a little warmer and brighter. Not a criticism at all, just the nature of on-line versus real life.

I have no idea what color it will be. A yellow green? Christmas red? Better yellow? I’m waiting for his favorite color to make an appearance in this set of twelve. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter. I’ve already preordered it.
I wish he’d do Macerated Peach. I think that would be such a Tim Holtz color name. 😂

I already ordered the Oxide pad, reinker, and spray. And the embossing powder. I actually thought he was sharing the colour today. Darn

I hope it's a good red for Christmas, but I will buy it no matter what. I'm annoyed that my Distress ink pad holder no longer holds all of my ink pads, but that's okay, I love his inks so it's worth it.

I'm never right guessing!
But I've pre-ordered already cause whatever color it is I need it, I'm a completionist and must have every color lol!

Am I the only one annoyed that we aren't going to find out the new color until Saturday? LMAO. Definitely a first world ridiculous complaint.

Clearly it’s a terrible problem. 😉 (And terrific marketing, snaring us in their distressing trap.) Let’s go taupe/cocoa!

I like the idea of a plum or deep burgundy color. I would definitely use that! Second choice would be a soft warm brown, like the color of hot cocoa. Or a neutral brown shade like taupe. Thank you for sharing the fascinating color theory info, CardBoxer and for the beautiful swatches, riversong1963! scrappyesq, I also have mixed feelings about a true red. While it sounds great, and would definitely fill a hole in the TH color chart, I think I'd only use it for Christmas as well.

It’s in the cool brown family but often has a pink undertone that surprises people when they put it on their walls and see pink in some lights. The cocoa I have is cool taupe too, depends on the brand? I wouldn’t be surprised by a light green either.

After reading all the responses here, I hope the new color is a Christmas red or a Silvery grey. I'll buy the ink pads no matter what color it is. Like tealpaperowl said I'm a completionist too. lol
2 more days to go!

How about a gold? Or a bright neon 80s color.

The history of Distress inks through 2020: Fun to look back. rangerink.com/blogs/blog/class-in-session-by-ranger-the-evolution-of-the-distress-paletteWhat was the inspiration behind the Distress palette? t: My initial inspiration for Distress was to be able to create authentic looking grunge by using inks so brown, brown, brown was my palette. Over time the palette of colors increased and were inspired by the worn hues of found objects, worn finishes, and faded elements

I'm terrible at trying to predict what the new color will be. Just came here to say that I'm on a no buy after all the holiday products I bought & I have very little willpower as it is. Please let this be a color that is similar to all the ones I already own. Pretty please.

Here we go, Distress followers. It’s red! The Christmas color we’ve wanted for years.

Red is basically my favorite color and first I was excited… but watching all the swatches I’m like (whispers) it’s the same. Lol I know it’s not, but for my purposes, yeah it really is. I don’t buy all the colors (not even close) so I am choosy and want the colors I do get to cover a wider color spectrum. I just picked up barn door last month. If I had to choose, I like this new one more, but I honestly don’t think I need both.

Live YouTube reveal right now on his channel. I got bored and left - it’s still going on.

I've pre-ordered the oxide.. but that, candied apple and festive berries are super close to me. Oh well. I'm a completionist and must have a full set so it's coming! I'll order the mini distress inks when they come out with the next 4 pack.
