Ranger and Tim Holtz are releasing a new color on October 29th and as we like to stick to tradition around here please post your guess, desire, and "I hope it's not another pink!" lol

I’d like to see something that fits between fired brick and aged mahogany. I don’t want another blue or green. It doesn’t really matter though, whatever it is I’ll end up buying it.

Looking at the most recent colours: Uncharted Mariner - Crackling Campfire- Kitsch Flamingo- Prize Ribbon - Rustic Wilderness - Salvaged Patina - Speckled Egg - Villainous Potion -Saltwater Taffy
I'm thinking it HAS to be a red or yellow? Or neutral? A Red would make sense with Christmas on the horizon.

I am guessing an orange due to fall/Thanksgiving or a 40's/50's blue green that is bright to go with all the lines coming out. Maybe even a yellow?

Yellow has the fewest inks but Tim said there wouldn’t be another yellow. He went through the yellow swatches and also showed how even the Pantone deck has fewer yellows than other colors. It would be nice to have a light one though they’re easy enough to lighten. There are a bunch of hues in every category now, so who knows. Maybe a neutral like you said hockeyfan06 since there hasn’t been one for a long time. I’d like a taupey cocoa brown.

It doesn’t really matter though, whatever it is I’ll end up buying it. This is exactly how it is for me! I seem to end up picking up the colour no matter what it is. Inevitably I see someone use it and decide that it's a must have because it's just different enough from the other inks.

I will buy it, no matter what. I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for a true red.

I would also love a true red, but I figure that's unlikely.

Tim said there will not be another yellow. I am guessing a grey.

I still want another yellow, even if Tim said not gonna happen. I'll be over here pouting. Second choice would be a true red.

I love red, yellow, and gray so I’d be down for any of those. Not a blue fan so I don’t care about that and I already have plenty of pinks.

I know it falls towards yellow, but a chartreuse would be great. It’s one of my favourite colours, but difficult to find in any medium. And as ever, I want a proper scarlet or crimson.

I say this every time, but I am still hoping for plum-y wine or burgundy color, or a true cherry red. I will also continue to hope for a nice buttery yellow, even though I know TH said there will be no more yellows

He also said there wouldn't be a peach, yet there was (Saltwater Taffy). So keep your hopes up, yellow fans. I'm not even going to guess this time. I'm just not that excited about it. If I like it, I might buy it. I will have to let something else go to make room for it, so it will have to be really great. Have fun guessing!

I think is time for another gray, something between Pumice and Hickory Smoke. And yes, a soft buttery yellow or a pretty burgundy would be nice.

I also thought Saltwater Taffy was peachy, but Shimelle said it was not a true peach, more like a "hot peach" so unsure what a real peachy color would look like. To me, Saltwater Taffy looks pink! Or like a light coral. I'd love a real deep crimson red. I have Candied Apple and Festive Berries and neither of them really do it for me where red is concerned.

Yes oaksong - a nice butter yellow! I would also like an apple green. And kmage, I'm not sure what "peach" is either.

I think saltwater taffy is a little more pink than peach. Blending a little yellow with saltwater taffy makes it more peachy. (Easier with Oxides for me.) Peach in general is a slightly pink orange, so in theory red and yellow can be mixed to get it, but to get a soft, light peach, pink and yellow can be mixed instead since pink is light red. Dark peach moves into coral. Hot usually refers to a very bright, saturated color, like hot pink. Saltwater taffy doesn’t appear hot to me. Color nerding…

The last few colors have all gone from no thank you to yes please. I honestly can't think of a color that I absolutely would not buy.

I was saying saltwater taffy reads a little more pink than peach rather than orange. Because of simultaneous contrast (and other effects), colors shift and trick eyes, depending on what color a color is next to, and how far away it is. It partly explains why several colors chosen from a color chart—that has lots of colors and white space—can look good together, but when they’re next to each other on paper they may not look so hot. And colors can look different on different screens/monitors too. plus are bright and shiny. It doesn’t always translate to real life. There’s fascinating info (to color nerds) and exercises, some on line, by Josef Albers and others about simultaneous contrast and other contrast effects. It was part of a color program I was in years ago and the focus wasn’t on scrapping or cards but color is color.

First response, again already?! lol I'm going to vote for a red based on the season. I don't actually want to buy any more TH inks. I've procrastinated on buying the recent colors so long (for the past couple of years) and after a while I stop caring.

Outside of Christmas it’s one color I don’t stamp much with at all.

I'm honestly terrible at guessing what the colour will be, but I will almost inevitably need to talk myself out of it when it's released.
