Linda , your buns look awesome and tasty. The photo brought to mind when my oldest DD spent the whole summer making bread a couple of times a week for 4H. She had the most beautiful loaves and we kept the neighbors and the freezer in bread. Her loaf for the County Fair looked lovely. When the judges cut it open there was a big air hole in the center. I was sure she would be devastated after so much practice but she just commented that her dad considered every loaf of her bread to be a blue ribbon winner and that's what counts. That was a good lesson to learn. Looks and taste are totally different. Any news yet on the MRI? kitbop , I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Aunt. That seems like such a big blow to your already tender family. She is in my prayers for recovery that gives her more time with the family. Hugs to you and all who love her. Do you mind sharing her first name with us? grammadee , I am really anxious to see your finished frame. I love what you have painted! I didn't know you were such an artist! This will be such a special gift. You have really been busy getting ready for Christmas. I hope all your plans go smoothly. joyfulnana , hooray for Rudy's baby brother. How is he enjoying that new experience? What a fun Christmas/Thanksgiving gift. All the kids got together and made cranberry relish on Monday. I was able to just sit and supervise. Our DGSin-law (Ashley's hubby) got our Sammie (GD15) chatting while they were working. I think she talked more with him than we heard from her all day. She is very quiet and it was fun to see them chatting. The next day we made a fancy French Toast breakfast for everyone. We had strawberries and bananas and whipped cream for those who wanted. It was a houseful, but not a lot of prep. I was tired enough for a nap after everyone left, but I can tell I am getting better each day. Sometime today the kids want to get together to make and launch stomp rockets. We'll go to the church parking lot so they don't end up on roofs! It's cold outside so I don't think we will be out long. Other than that, things are very easy for me this year. I'm just trying to enjoy every minute with the family around. I hope you each have a great Thanksgiving/weekend with family and friends. Hugs to each of you.

kitbop sending prayers for your aunt. I make stove top peanut brittle. My great aunt Eileen taught me.
nylene your family time sounds wonderful.
Linda your cinnamon buns look delicious.
Just when I thought my cold was nearly over my cough returned last evening. I took another covid test this morning, just to be sure I'm negative, because we are meeting a friend for sushi after work.

nylene - what a shame about your DD's loaf - I've had that happen when it looks lovely but isn't on the inside and it's always disappointing. A good life lesson though for sure. I've read the MRI results online - ACL sprain, bursitis, osteoarthritis, fraying meniscus, thinning cartilage, bakers cyst - but won't get to talk to the doctor about it for a couple of weeks. I suspect it was the ACL sprain that put me on the crutches though and the rest is mostly wear and tear. I'm glad that you're having fun withe family and not doing too much. justjac - I'm sorry your cough is back. Take it easy!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! to nylene, Linda , joyfulnana , msliz , knutschen , kellyr21 , gramma , refugeepea , all the US Pokeys! Quiet day here. I have some cookie dough in the fridge that needs to be rolled, cut and baked this morning. I had hoped to bake--or at least mix up--another recipe, but dh is having internet issues again. He changed his email password and now can't remember what he changed it to. His ipad and iphone quit syncing with each other, too. I tried to figure it out last night, but will need some technical help on line to get everything set up this morning. This evening we have pancake supper at the Seniors'. I have a gift wrapped to take there for my dsil, whose dgd usually attends. Anyway, have a wonderful day!

Oh kitbop I'm so sorry! All the good thoughts and vibes for her! Man, this has been a really tough year for your family. (((hugs)))) I'll echo grammadee about it being benign and non-aggressive. Keeping your family in my thoughts. nylene the baby's name is Lee. And Rudy says he's crazy. Which is pretty much his standard answer for anything he doesn't know how to explain lol. I'm so glad to hear you are feeling noticeably better as the days go by. And that you took it easy and supervised! grammadee! That canvas is beautiful, I can't wait to see it when you're finished. Sounds like a busy week you have a head. Good luck with the Internet issues. I have such a love/hate relationship with technology lol. I'm sure I'm not the only one either lol. Linda those cinnamon rolls look yummy! I've never had a batch come out perfectly shaped either. Good for DD for wanting to learn to cook and bake. Man, justjac you aren't catching a break either. I hope you are feeling alright, even if the cough is back. I need to get into exercise again. I can't say back to, because it's been a lot of years since I've regularly did anything lol. My day did not wind up as intended at all. DS 2 is sick with not covid, but flu like symptoms so he was not here for dinner. His GF is sick with bronchitis and Rudy was with his mom. So it was just me and Cody lol. We ate and watched a couple episodes of the shows we are watching. The Handmaid's Tale, and he now has me watching Shoresy which is so crass and so funny too. About a Canadian hockey team. It reminds me a lot of the Trailer Park Boys lol. I'll be scrapping with my mom and niece tomorrow. Or doing some kind of crafting anyway. And that will also keep me out of the stores during the craziness lol. I hope all the US peas have had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm very grateful for this band of peas, you are all so dear to me!

Good day after (US)Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a great day with family and friends, no matter how big or how small your gathering might have been. grammadee - I hope you managed some fun time and picture taking nylene - I hope you were more of a guest than a host this year. kitbop - Good grief girl you can't seem to catch a break! Linda - Sounds like you will have enough photos to churn out a bunch of layouts justjac - I was glad to see that your gnome package got to you in a reasonable amount of time. I hope you a Dean are feeling better. joyfulnana - sometimes smaller is better. There were 18 of us at my daughter's home. She was knackered by the time it was all done. I've been in typical end of year whirlwind. So darned much to do when you work in finance. Ken seems to be on a downward slide. He has a CT scan on the 2nd of December to see if they can figure out what is going on. I don't have much hope as we have been asking for at least 4 years. Heavy sigh. And that is enough of that - - Anyone up for a crop tomorrow? Or this evening?

I don't seem to be able to complete more than a layout a week. Well, your production is quadruple mine since yours are double page spreads You know those llamas are adorable and worth every detail, but what really makes your layouts stand out is the attention to the matting and colour structure all through the page. Beautiful! I'm so sorry Ken is having a rough go. I know you are "tough" but I'm sure it hurts to watch. I'm down for cropping tomorrow! joyfulnana - sorry Thanksgiving didn't work out for family. There are a lot of bugs going around. I had to go for a covid test today. I should have kept count when we started back in 2020. I know that I'm well over 50 of them, not counting rapid tests! Whenever we get ANY symptoms and call in sick to work (today I had a sore throat and achey and I just didn't feel I had the "fight" in me to get through a day of work) they require a covid test to return. It was worth it to stay home: nice to stay quiet...I had a good nap...got the freezer cleaned out...made enchiladas... My aunt: it's very bad news. Glioblastoma, had surgery, now chemo and radiation but only to slow it down, no chance of cure. She isn't herself already and I'm already feeling that grief that I won't talk to her the same way every again.

(((((HUGS))))) to you who are feeling sick or dealing with others' illnesses. So sorry to hear about your aunt's downturn, kitbop, and about your dh's decline, gramma. Hope that cold leaves you alone soon, justjac, and that you don't have Covid and don't feel any worse, kitbop. Sorry I won't be able to join into a crop this weekend. Off to a hockey tournament near Edmonton in the morning. On the way home I can pick up the shadowbox frame. Then Sunday we have a date for Sunday brunch and a local theatre performance.

((((Hugs))) joyfulnana - I'm sorry that your DS was sick - glad you had a good day with Cody gramma - beautiful layout! I'll continue praying for you and Ken. ((((Hugs)))) kitbop - I'm so sorry about your aunt. That's very hard news. I'll keep her in my prayers - and you as well. grammadee - sounds like a whirlwind weekend - have fun! I have a layout in progress but it's been in progress for several days without much forward momentum. Working on an album with photos from DH's trip to Dallas and I'm just not that excited or inspired about the photos.

I am sending lots of hugs to all the pokeys peas! It's been a rough year and kitbop I'm so sorry about your Aunt's diagnosis. From everything I know of it, it's a terrible cancer. I hope you are holding up as well as possible through all of this. (((hugs))) gramma. I'm so sorry about Ken. And work. But this is the final time you will be doing end of year, correct??? justjac I hope you were covid negative and that cough finally goes away. My weekend has not gone according to plan, but I need to get real, they never do LOL! Sick boy ended up coming here after Cody left and stayed the night and most of the day yesterday. Keeping fingers crossed I don't get what he had. He was looking so bad Wednesday night when I saw him, I just wanted to scoop him up and take him home and take care of him. So that's kinda what we did lol. I scrapped quite awhile with my mom and niece. It was nice, I didn't get much done besides talking, but that's ok because it seemed to be just what I needed. It's been a couple of really peopley days for me, so I don't plan to crop tonight, but I could handle Sunday!

Happy Sunday! Hi sweet peas! I have been on the go while the construction and renovations are still going on here. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a restful weekend and holiday. I will check back in when I can. Hopefully, this construction interruptions will be over or minimized soon. Thinking of you all and hope you and your families are well.

Unfortunately what I thought was a relapse of my cold is Covid. Oh no! Of course it moved in when your immune system was already busy! Hope you can fight it off without symptoms getting any worse. Glad you guys had fun at the crop today. The brunch was not very good, but the play was fun. Got some good pic's of my dgs yesterday. His team went on to win gold in the tournament and he got MVP the first game this morning. He is goalie, so I guess he had to stop lots of shots. I am trolling the tournament photographer's site, hoping they have some good pic's from today.

@joyfulana - I hope your son is feeling better (and didn't share with you) kellyr21 - I hope the construction and renovations will be finally over soon - it's been quite the year for you. justjac - oh no! (((((Hugs))) and prayers. I hope you feel better soon (finally) and Dean doesn't catch it. grammadee - congratulations to your grandson - how exciting! First Sunday of Advent here. I decorated - just the nativities, and some stuff on the stoop and my new Ikea village ( www.ikea.com/us/en/p/vinterfint-decoration-set-of-8-winter-village-10527332/ ) and DD16 set up the Christmas village for me I made double chocolate chip cookies - and learnt an important lesson about reading the WHOLE recipe not just the list of ingredients before getting started. Grabbed a recipe online - had all the ingredients I was expecting but wow did the recipe overcomplicate things...and while it said 'make in 20 minutes)...start to finish took an hour and a half (and that was after I skipped a step, lol). They weren't even that good Not a make again. Took a walk around the neighbourhood before dinner and then afterwards we light the candle on the wreath and did our ceremony and ate cookies. I'm beat... no scrapping today for me.

It was so nice to get a call from gramma yesterday and hear other Pokeys, ( justjac, kitbop)online. I got to join for a while and catch up. Thanks, you guys, for caring. You are all such special friends. My cough got worse in the night, but I feel better today. I'm tired of my ribs being sore! kitbop, your Aunt is in my prayers and your family too. I am so sorry that the diagnosis is such a difficult one. I hope time will give her a chance to heal some from the surgery and chemo/radiation so you can have some good talking times together. Perhaps swelling is making her a bit different right now. Hugs and more hugs! joyfulnana, what a loving mother to take care of your sick son. I'm glad he had a place to go to be "mothered" when he was ill. Hoping you won't catch what he has. Lee is a fun name. I'm sure as time goes on Rudy will get quite attached to that little guy. Your scrapping with family must have been a good break. Even if you just talk and not scrap much, it's so nice to share with family. grammadee, Congrats to your grandson and to his team. He must be an amazing player. You have a family of great hockey players! I look forward to some great hockey pages. Your outing with DH sounds nice. We have pretty much become hermits since Covid came calling. I look forward to seeing your finished gift for DDIL. kellyr21, I think I would be out and about a bunch with construction noise all the time. I hope they get it finished and you can settle in for the winter. Have you done any crafts lately? Would love to see what you are doing. gramma, thank you so much for thinking of me yesterday. Like joyfulnana, things have been really peoply around here the past week and yesterday was a nice quiet day with just the 2 of us. It was so nice to hop online and chat. I hadn't been in my scraproom for days, so hadn't checked the threads. I am so sorry that Ken is fading. My heart just aches for you even though I know you think you are tough! I hope that the MRI will show something that can help with the mental acuity and dizziness. Hugs! for both of you. justjac, I am so sorry about your Covid. It's worse that it comes on top of your cold/flu. You just can't get a break! I hope Dean avoids it and that it is short-lived in you. You have had your turn!! Linda, how is the knee behaving with all the preps for Thanksgiving and Christmas? I hope you don't end up back on crutches. Your advent preparations and traditions sound wonderful! What a great way to celebrate. I love your new Village! So sweet. I love my village more than the tree. Angie's family carried up all my village boxes which sit in the living room now. I'm in no hurry to get it all up. I will do a bit each day, but not all at once. Maybe if you take a break from the photos and come back to them you will get more excited. It's always more fun to scrap when you have fun photos. I just got a pack of photos from Costco and can't wait to scrap, but need to get Christmas cards out first. I didn't mean for this to be so long, but that happens when you don't check in for a week! Have a great week, everyone.

nylene - I hope you continue to improve - i've been praying for you. my knees are painful and stiff but the only thing new about that is that it's both knees now not just the one (my right knee has had issues since I was a teen, the left knee was new this fall) but I'm staying off the crutches so far which is good. Hoping to scrap some this week -just been busy. There's an online SG crop this weekend but we're headed to the city both Sat and again on Sun so not sure how much participating I'll manage. I'm working on addressing my Christmas cards- it's a slow process handwriting but I'm trying to avoid resorting to printed address labels. Hi everyone! gramma and kitbop - you and your families are in my prayers

Take care with your knees, Linda. Have you been taking physio? Hopefully they can find some routines that help. Your Advent cookie adventure sounds like something that might happen to me. "Ooooh Those look good. How hard can they BE?" Often the way I approach new designs and techniques in paper crafting, too... Glad you had a chance to drop in, kellyr21. Hoping your night coughing didn't put you backward, healthwise, nylene. How are you feeling, today, justjac? After a + test, how long do you need to stay home? Things are starting to fall into place here. The printer called today to say that the calendar pages are ready for pick up. I emailed the Christmas letter to a different outlet and she promised the copies would be ready by tomorrow. We are still working on the frame, but I hope that if I can get dh to enlarge one of the pegboard holes this evening then I will be able to finish the inside tomorrow, and be able to take it to the glass guy on Thursday when I pick up all the printing. Wrapped gifts for my brothers & spouses today, and printed address labels, so those should be hitting the post office Thursday as well. Hoping to get all my Pea holiday cards into the mail that same day... Trying to get alot of details looked after because I will be leaving for Calgary on Sunday and won't be back until at least December 15th. Happy Tuesday evening!

Linda , I am sorry that you are still struggling with BOTH knees. Please take it easy. You have a lot going on! Are you taking your DD to scouting activities again this weekend? Thank you for the prayers. You are in my prayers too, as are all of the Pokeys dealing with difficulties right now. grammadee , did I miss what you are doing in Calgary? Is this just a visit or something special. That's a long time to be gone at this busy time. I hope you get everything finished before you leave. I hope to get my Pea cards all out tomorrow. I think I am really on the mend. I feel much better today and the coughing and throat clearing is much less. I spent the morning making fruitcake (Mom's recipe that DH loves) and although I was tired at the end, I didn't feel like I would collapse. I hope you are not getting worse with the Covid diagnosis, justjac . Will you have to quarantine until you get a negative test, or is there a limit to how many days are required? Teachers here have to quarantine 5 days and be symptom free before returning. There is so much that needs to be done around here. Little by little I'm getting back to doing them!

I hope to get my Pea cards all out tomorrow. My ds and ddil are taking a trip to Vegas to the National Rodeo Finals (they will be spectators, but besides being active in the sports, they love watching as well). So I will be staying with their boys while they are gone. I wouldn't need to be there until Wednesday, but I wanted to spend some time with my other ds's family, too, so will go there first. I have it planned to do the last of my shopping down there and leave wrapped gifts before heading home, but trying to get as much organized as I can before I leave here.

grammadee - I really need to do physio but it's difficult to get there since I don't drive and the hours don't work well with DH's work hours. We made it work for DD this summer but he was much happier once she was done. I did recently get a message from my health insurance about virtual physio so I need to ask my doctor about that. Sounds like your Christmas gifts/letters are all falling into place - yay! Enjoy your two weeks in Calgary! nylene - thank you. I tend to just keep on going through the pain - I would never get anything done otherwise. Saturday we're going to a Christkindlmarkt at a local brewery and then Sunday is DD's Girl Scout meeting. We'll do some shopping also - take advantage of access to many more stores. I might even make it into Tuesday Morning - it's pretty close to the GS meeting place. I'm glad that you're on the mend but don't overdo things and relapse. ((((Hugs))) and prayers justjac - hoping you're also on the mend. You are also in my prayers

Thanks for all the well wishes. I’m coughing a lot less but my ribs hurt every time. I have to stay home five days which is more like nine because I felt sick last weekend and tested positive Sunday. I’m sleeping in the spare bed in my scrap room because Dean is still okay.

justjac , I hope Dean can avoid the virus. We tried to be very careful, but I think DH had already been well exposed by the time I tested. It's a sneaky virus. I am looking forward to having taste again. Steve didn't lose taste. It's weird! Linda , the drive to the city doesn't sound fun, but I hope you enjoy doing some shopping. I hope Tuesday Morning has some good stuff if you get there. Ours is always SO picked over. There are lots of scrappers around here. Travel safely. grammadee , your trip sounds like fun with the kids. You must be pretty organized to be able to leave shortly before Christmas...what am I saying....of course you are organized, look at all you do for Refugee Peas! Have a safe and great trip! I'm doing housework and laundry today and sitting to address cards when I get tired. I did get the garland up on my stair rail which is the first thing in getting the Village up. It makes me excited. Have a great day, Pokeys, who are so busy!

justjac - I hope Dean avoids it. I was so careful when DH got sick earlier this fall (he was convinced it was the flu - which I also didn't want) and slept in the living room etc... but it wasn't flu (it was covid) and I caught it from him. He didn't test until I tested positive. nylene - hope that your taste comes back soon -that was my clue I had covid. It did come back fairly quickly but I think some things still taste a little off. It's about an hour drive each way to the city but I always end up so wiped out afterwards - we always seem to stay longer and stop at more places than I plan for. Not feeling 100% today - didn't sleep well last night and that always leaves me feeling off. Groceries this evening but otherwise, I think a quiet day.

Ha ha, nylene. If you ask people who know me IRL to describe me, I don't think "organized" is the first word they would come up with! But I can compartmentalize the big things and multi task the little ones, so that helps. Also accepting that "it is what it is" so ready to change plans when the current one is not working. nylene and justjac and Linda, please take it easy now so you will continue to feel better. I think a quiet day for Linda is the best plan. I had hoped to get dh's help with the frame first thing this morning, but he left early to help a neighbour move some animals. While waiting for him to come home, I finished gluing together some cards whose pieces were all over my scrap counter. Then I started addressing my 2Peas cards. When he got here, he drilled a couple of holes for a hook and attached the horse shoes to the bottom of the frame. This afternoon, I need to glue down the canvas and then start placing the things that go on top of it. Not sure if I will finish it today as I had planned. If not, I will need to wait until Friday to take it in to get the glass set in it. Will snap a pic of it before the glass goes on.
