I know nobody else cares, but I’m pretty disappointed that our Trumpy conservative candidates won the school board election. They advertised as a “trio” and there were too many other candidates that split the votes.
ETA that the attorney general race in MN is very close right now. Thankfully our Democratic governor won. The rest were all as expected but of course I wish that the democrats in my area had won.

Oddly, as disappointing as the Texas results have been, there are several notable districts here where the book-banning candidates didn’t win. I’m going to take my positives where I can get them.

His entire platform was election denial so this is not surprising. He tried lawsuits to try to get early ballots in Democratic district disqualified. There was no way he would ever accept result where he did not win. He is a “Four Seasons” candidate all the way and has talked about nothing but the cheating voting in Philadelphia and surrounding liberal areas.

I’m also happy that overall our state has flipped to a blue majority but I’m *really* disappointed that it appears the Trumpy candidate in the house district I live in will win by the slimmest of margins. Come on people. You should do better. This guy was originally running with anti-abortion info on his campaign website that was conveniently scrubbed after the Dobbs decision in the SC. We ran into him at the county fair and when asked about his position on reproductive rights, dude did the traditional Republican dodge and weave non-answer. And he has teen daughters. What a douche.

Still sad here in Texas, but the rest of the country is giving me a lot of hope for our future. So proud of Michigan, PA, Kansas (!), Arizona ...

Didn't Kari Lake say counting should stop at end of election day?!? Guess she is changing her mind. But if ballots are tampered with, should the whole ballot be discarded?

South Dakota citizens speak. They voted for Noem, dispute that they also voted for those in need.. Defying their right-wing political leaders, South Dakota voters on Tuesday approved a constitutional amendment to expand the state's Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act, a move that will extend public health insurance coverage to around 45,000 low-income people. With Tuesday's vote, which currently sits at 56% in favor of the amendment and 44% against, South Dakota is set to become the seventh state to expand Medicaid through a ballot measure, keeping the undefeated streak for Medicaid initiatives intact. "We're glad that South Dakota voters saw that helping our neighbors get healthcare is the right thing to do." www.rawstory.com/the-right-thing-to-do-voters-in-deep-red-south-dakota-approve-medicaid-expansion/

Both Warnock and Walker are under 50% for now. Separated by only 1400 votes I am horrified that this is a close race. How does somebody who can't form a coherent sentence represent constituents?

Of course, infantile TFG reacts to his picks losing with anger, instead of self-reflection, despite qualifications not being a basis for his anointing them. Face it, Douche; you are no longer a kingmaker.

Former is now blaming Melania,... The New York Times' Maggie Haberman chimed in on Twitter with her own dispatch that claimed the twice-impeached former president is now even blaming former first lady Melania Trump for some of his own poor endorsements. "Trump is indeed furious this morning, particularly about Mehmet Oz, and is blaming everyone who advised him to back Oz -- including his wife, describing it as not her best decision, according to people close to him," Haberman writes. www.rawstory.com/maggie-haberman-trump-2658622778/

Michigan residents on Tuesday voted to enshrine abortion rights in the state's constitution, a major victory in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's deeply unpopular decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and amid a nationwide GOP assault on reproductive freedom. The initiative, one of several abortion-related measures on the ballot across the country Tuesday, currently leads by a margin of 55.6% to 44.4% with 84% of the votes counted. "When people can vote directly on abortion in a non-partisan ballot initiative, abortion rights win." Approval of the ballot measure effectively spells the end of right-wing efforts to impose a draconian 1931 abortion ban in Michigan, where reproductive freedom advocates have been working for months to build support for the constitutional amendment as GOP officials did their best to tank it. The Reproductive Freedom for All campaign submitted more than 753,000 signatures in support of the amendment—a state record. www.rawstory.com/seismic-win-michigan-voters-approve-constitutional-amendment-to-protect-abortion-rights/
