Trump is like a cornered animal - as the legal cases close in on him, he gets more outrageous and more dangerous. He suggested "termination" of the constitution to install him as president. It's long past time for conservatives to denounce him. So far, no Republicans have publicly criticized Trump for his most recent attack on the constitution, the rule of law and democracy. “You cannot only love America when you win,” he added.
Trump’s message on the Truth Social platform reiterated the baseless claims he has made since 2020 that the election was stolen. But he went further by suggesting that the country abandon one of its founding documents.
“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” Trump wrote.

In fact, the only input from a sitting politician that Taibbi noted was from Silicon Valley Rep. Ro Khanna (D), who told Twitter executives they should distribute the story, regardless of the potential consequences for his party.

I've always thought Trump wasn't dealing with a full deck and could benefit from a good therapist, but good lord the man is off his rocker. I sure hope those around him are intervening and will get him the help he needs.

I remember the day in 8th grade history where the kid next to me asked the teacher “I don’t understand, how did the German people elect Hitler, clearly he wasn’t fit to lead, the signs were all there to clearly see. He already tried a coup, it makes no sense” ( yes, the kid next to me was an history nerd ) and we all shook our heads and agreed how perplexing that was. The teacher didn’t really have the answer gave the usual about nationalism, anti semitism and the repercussions of the treaty of Versailles. Which are all factors but it still doesn’t explain the issue fully. But we were only in 8th grade and it was time to move on in history to the next thing.
Neither now, nor in 2015-2016 is the US suffering that kind of severe economic problems that the treaty of Versailles imposed. Not even close.

Republicans. They’re massively concerned about the descent into tyranny threatened by:
-Hunter Biden’s laptop
-Temporary public health measures
-A private company choosing not to give hate and lies a platform on their own servers
-Free and fair elections that they didn’t win
-Poverty stricken, desperate refugees coming here and following our own laws to request asylum
But the head of their party insisting that we set aside the constitution and install him as king - after having already attempted a coup - is no big deal.

Well, if you were completely wrong, then Hershel walker wouldn’t be saying people born after 1990 don’t have the right to change this country and shouldn’t vote. Obviously he/they fear people who can find their own information and make an informed choice. But the internet doesn’t help those who want to remain willfully ignorant, in fact it also provides them with access to ‘alternative facts’ that keep their blinders on & reaffirm their false narratives. The internet is just a tool that can be used both ways. But, yes, regrettably many were wrong, as I said the stipulations & reparations of the Versailles treaty took a heavy dose of blame for what happened in Germany, but we had/have a fairly decent economy comparatively. If the reparations had that much to do with Hitlers rise in Germany than what does that say about the US that we can be at a crossroads such as this without such dire circumstances. Anyone who is truly a patriotic American no matter their political affiliation ought to be loudly condemning Trumps post about the constitution. Anyone who is not offended by that post does not have this country’s best interests at heart |

The question that Biden raised revolves around different interpretations of the amendments. The courts have interpreted the constitution in many different ways over the years. There's an enormous difference between Democrats' criticism of the 2016 election & Trump's refusal to accept the results. Clinton conceded and did not support the Democratic objections to the certification in the House. The objections were verbal, not in writing and not supported by any Senators. More importantly, Clinton did not incite her supporters to violently storm the Capitol during the certification. Not even close. I wish we could ignore Trump. But, he is the Republican candidate for the 2024 presidential election and like it or not, the leader of the Republican Party. My H believes EVERY claim of voter fraud that anyone on the right makes.
In AZ, he is claiming that Republicans were told that the voting machines were only counting Democratic votes abd they'd have to drive for hours to find a machine that worked for R votes.
The right has sucessfully convinced these morons that any R loss is fraudulent.
