I usually have 2 pounds of butter in the fridge and more in the freezer. I buy multiples any time I see it in sale and throw them in the freezer. I probably go through around a pound a month. Usually make at least one batch of cookies and that uses 1-2 sticks so 1/4 to 1/2 a pound.

I bake a lot plus we all like our butter. A stick of butter lasts 3-4 days at the most in our house. It’s killing me that a four pound pack of butter at Costco is over $14, I buy both salted and unsalted so I always have both on hand. When that same four pound pack was running around $6 a couple years ago I totally stocked up the freezer and my DH thought I had gone nuts.

Little, but more than 1 box a year. We use it primarily during the holidays for baking and mashed potatoes.

I have 2 cups of bulletproof coffee every morning and they include Kerrygold butter. We also bake a lot. I go through a LOT of good-quality butter!

About a box a week.
It’s more cooking with butter than spreading butter on things. For example, if I cook eggs, I definitely put butter in the pan.

Less than one pound a year. I don’t bake as Dh does not have a sweet tooth and therefore I eat it all, and we use olive oil for cooking. I do use a stick to make dressing for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas but that’s really the only time I use it. I keep a small tub of spreadable I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter for toast, but it lasts a long time.

I use a lot of butter in November and December because I do a lot of baking. I do use some butter for regular cooking—sometimes I use olive oil and butter in sautéing for some added flavor, or butter on vegetables if I’m needing a little more fat in my daily use. I generally don’t eat bread at home, and if I do, I have it without butter, because I like just the taste and texture of bread.

I’m somewhere between very little and average.
I don’t put butter on sandwiches. I don’t make eggs very often. I don’t normally have bread in the house, and I rarely bake anything. In fact, since my husband died I don’t cook that much at all either. He made the grilled cheese sandwiches; I don’t make them for myself. But, I will put butter on a baked potato, and on corn on the cob, and maybe a couple other things that I can’t think of right now.
I buy a few packages of butter a year.

I almost never eat butter--maybe a couple pats per year--if we are at a restaurant with really fluffy, soft hot rolls, then I will. But I rarely eat white bread also. My husband has it on his baked potatoes and some other things but not really much. I never cook with it and I don't bake.

We go through a lot of butter (and we don't even use it for eggs because we use bacon grease for that!) My stuffing recipe alone calls for 4 sticks of butter and I make that a couple times a year.

We use a lot of butter! I was raised on margarine and Country Crock. I had no idea what I was missing out on! We only use real butter- no margarine or tubs here.

So much butter! Probably a stick a week if I’m not baking. If I’m baking? Yeah…..

~1 brick/pound/box/4 sticks every two months, I'd wager for our household.
Most of that goes into bread like brioche, butter buns & scones, and sauces. We don't really eat butter as a condiment, only as an ingredient. Toast gets margarine. It's been less in the last little while with the prices being sky-high. Our freezer stockpile has withered away to nothing. During the holidays it's more for cookies and treats.

Well - yesterday it was two sticks for one recipe. But the first stick exploded in the microwave while melting. While trying to save the melted mess, I dropped the glass microwave turntable - which shattered on the file floor - which, because it was melted butter, then required a SERIOUS mopping with degreaser -- and I still had to finish the recipe because it was for dinner!

We go through a lot of butter. I buy at least 10 lbs whenever it is on sale because it is so expensive normally. I don't eat or use margarine. We probably use a couple of pounds a month. We use it on bread products and cooking.

I’m laughing that ‘several boxes a year’ is considered lots. We probably go through at least 5 lbs a month. Large family, we bake a lot, and I don’t do margarine.
We use Irish butter for spreading, and regular butter for cooking.

I would say at least two pounds a month, but I have a large family and the kids bake something (usually cookies) at least once a week.

I probably use two pounds a month. Jeremy would revolt if he didn't get cookies at least once a month. Then there is a roux for cream soups and cheese sauces for pasta. We also eat a lot of fresh bread with butter as a part of our dinner. So yeah, bring me all the butter! Although I will say that for roasting or sauteed vegetables are all in olive oil.

Not a ton. Maybe 2 pounds a year or so. I freeze it when I buy it, that's how infrequently we use it.

It depends on the time of the year. I limit my butter use because calories, fat, etc., but other people eat it.
My adult kids prefer pasta with butter and cheese, no sauce. It gets used on toast, on veggies, etc.
I have 3 different butters: cooking butter, better butter for like frosting or eating when Kerrygold runs out. Kerrygold is what we use on food. I could never go back to regular butter after Kerrygold.
From Thanksgiving through Christmas I use a lot of butter. Pretty much everything I bake has butter in it.

I was raised on a dairy farm. Butter goes on everything! Unless forced to because that's all the restaurant has, I will not put margarine on anything. And if I have to, my husband gets to hear me complain about it!

I have no idea how much a "box" of butter is. Man, I've only just got used to the US "sticks" of butter! ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/TKS2q_7siLiFtq0xPQvx.jpg) I buy a 500g tub of spreadable butter every three weeks or so. I also by blocks of salted and unsalted butter for baking, either 250g or 500g, whichever is on special at the time. If I wasn't trying to lose weight, I would eat butter on ALL.THE.THINGS. I love butter!

Probably a pound every 2 or 3 weeks unless we’re baking. I’ve bought 5 pounds in the last month but 3 are still unopened in the freezer.

We don't really put butter on things. I use butter in cooking occasionally. What I mostly use it for is baking and I bake something maybe once a month at most. I probably use 6 boxes a year max.

How much is in a box of butter?
We would probably use a 500gram tub (around a pound) every 6-8 weeks for the 2 of us.
