Thought some of you PLers might be interested in this. Doodlebug seems to be releasing calendar date stickers (lots of 1-31s) that might work for daily memory projects. They're not terribly exciting looking but I would've loved to have a set when I was doing PL so I figured others might also... http://instagr.am/p/Cm_-eeaLmvB

Oh no, what happened? Was there an update on social media or in a newsletter about this? Nope, not a word. I hope she's okay. I still get the weekly email from her, with whatever old products she has on sale. Just no new products. No! She’s one of my favorites too. This makes me super sad. I wonder if she’s still designing physical products for CD? I ended my sub this summer (just not keeping up at all, still lovely kits) so I haven’t been paying attention. I hope she’s fine and gets back to creating new digital products with the new year.

I'm a bit excited to turn the page into 2023! Yay!
My 2022 is pretty much up to date up til mid Oct. I should be transparent and share that I don't do weekly PL. I do events, holidays, random things in my day. My kids are both in their 20's and while they are definitely in there, they aren't the focus like they used to be.
Which album are you using? I've been doing 9X12 since they hit either SC or AE... I think maybe 2015 or 2016? Before that it was 12X12. Initially, it was 3 9X12's a year, plus a DD (2 6X8 albums). Then it was 2 9X12's plus a DD (2 or 1 album full.) 2022 will all fit in ONE 9X12, and one 6X8 DD. Wow!!
How are you getting your cards this year? (kit sub, one-off purchases, stash) I tend to do one offs. I have a massive (too big) stash... and, truthfully, my books are super photo heavy, and I don't use alot of cards. Actually more likely to cut up some patterned paper.
What's your favourite thing about PL? Have you seen the new commercials were there is a disagreement between two people, they call a time out, and there is a replay? LOL Yesssss I have a very very good memory, and can find alot in my scraproom, in seconds lol
What's your main struggle with PL? Photo printing. I send off. I love the quality (Persnickety) but I HATE paying 8-9 dollars shipping on a $250 order lol It just grates on my nerves. That said, I sent photos this year in some of my Christmas cards. Through out the year any duplicates go in an envelope, and at the end of the year, I divide them out in a couple Christmas cards to folks that would appreciate them. I sent a card to my sister that had a handful of photos, and unfortunately the card must have spent a week in the mail carrier's pool. The card was a mess! But the photos all dried good enough to put in frames and you'd never know they were wet. YESSSS!!!
Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to document in 2023? That's the first I've thought of this. LOL I suppose the biggest one (only one I've given any thought to...) is my dog's 10 year Gotcha Day!! Oh, OMG. I'm embarrassed. My daughters wedding late this summer <3
Got any ideas for your title page? I don't do title pages. I also don't do last pages. It's just another page.

One more question - do you all date anything within the month? i.e. put a date stamp or other something on specific stories or pages? I do if the date is important to the story. If it's just a photo of my dinner or a cute photo of the cat I don't bother with a date, the month is close enough. Same. I've been known to move a photo of us at dinner to a whole other month (scandal!!) As long as it is similar season/look, I don't mind scooting them around. I do dates throughout the albums more as a placeholder or a transition.. So, if I can add a date to a photo of my dinner and it was July, I'm ok with that being before my Aug photos. I really don't care if it was July 1 or July 25, unless, as you said, it matters. Example.. this past year, my son turned 21, but he lost his ID (months before... eye roll!) and wasn't able to have his "first legal drink" at his birthday celebration. I did make sure to date both his birthday celebration and the celebration of his new ID arriving in the mail!

What's your main struggle with PL? Having 'enough' stuff to include now that I am an empty nester. The kids dont send me much to include these days. So you still include photos of your kids (when they send them to you), even though they don't live at home? My DD has just bought her own home, she moved into it in mid-December. Before she moved out I was always asking her to send me photos, and I would "raid" her Instagram for photos to include. I was planning on still doing that, even now that she has moved out, and wondered if people would think it a bit weird! I can't answer for Mom, but for sure, I do! My daughter is a picture taker, and she tends to send me little snippets here and there. I treasure them! I think I add more of her to my PL these days because my son is less interested in having his photo taken. But he will totally indulge me if I ask. I honestly can't imagine not including her.

Which album are you using? A grey 12x12 album from scrapbook.com. How are you getting your cards this year? (kit sub, one-off purchases, stash)I am on the Elle's Studio creative team, so I'll be using those products to document 2022. I tend to buy one-offs from a variety of places, too, and I know I'll be using some new and old AE SBTM kits to tackle 2023 PL. Documenting in "real time" is something I don't do much of, so I'm excited to try that a bit more this year. I'm also continuing to look back and tackle past years as well as any gaps. Right now, that's completing 2020 and starting 2017. What's your favourite thing about PL?It's like a personal yearbook. I just love the chronological look-backs. What's your main struggle with PL?Editing photos. I take way too many, and it takes hours to wrangle each folder into my favorite shots. At the same time, I like that my commitment to PL helps to clean up my photo files! Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to documenting in 2023?Nothing specifically, no. Just making forward progress on all fronts. Got any ideas for your title page?I've been using the title page to highlight a favorite photo of each family member from that year, printed in black and white and paired with some coordinating patterned paper from my stash and number stickers. It's working for me. No urge to change right now... I absolutely love the idea of highlighting a family member from that year. I'm thinking Interview, Current photo, (their) favorite photo. Significant details (current job, fav job, dates, significant others, location(s).) In over 20 years scrapbooking, I've NEVER done this. I'm going to make my list of 12 folks!! Thank you for this brilliant idea!! It's always so nice to get a fresh idea

Has anyone started documenting for 2023 yet? I need to go catch up on the thread! I posted then wasn't able to keep up with the replies so I'm going to go back and read for a bit I have printed zero things and have no clue what to do for a title page yet but I do have pictures on my phone along with notes so that's something! I think I've decided to go with weekly. It will probably be 2 page spreads but I'm happy with 1 page for a week if I'm light on photos. I'm really going to try to get more words in my album this year. I get stuck with not adding journaling especially when there isn't a picture to go with it, but I'm challenging myself to write things down instead of using embellishments for fillers.

I would love to see examples of 9x12 albums that do a monthly format. I am struggling to visualize how to fit a month in a 2 page layout and I'd love to see how those of you who do this make it work! Monthly PL-ers can do multiple spreads, not just the one. A great way to use 9x12 for a monthly format is to have that one 9x12 spread dedicated to all kinds of happenings that don't need more than one pocket each (currently, news events, small things, random photos/selfies) and add behind that the extra pages needed to record larger things (birthdays, trips, outings, special events, etc.). Some months, you'll have just your "recap spread" and an insert because not much happened in your life. Other months, you'll have an extra three page protectors tucked behind the recap because it was a busy month with loads going on. You can always add monthly tabs to each recap spread to help you find your month quickly as you're adopting a fluctuating number of pages per month. But overall, this is a great, no-nonsense approach to monthly PL. Heck, I did this one year by season, not even by month. Still worked fine for me. I've thought about doing a year by seasons. Did you like that format?

I have a lot more than two pages for each month. I include inserts as well. I don’t think doing it monthly has reduced the number of layouts that I make for the month but I think it makes it less rigid for me. I don’t worry about the dates or if there was a slow week, etc. Some months have more but I would say I average about two 2 page layouts per month plus inserts and an enlargement or two (6x8 or 5x7 photos). I want to try some flip outs in 2023. jeremysgirl I did a monthly format but some months I only have 2 pages and some months I have 5. I don't do only one spread for the whole month. I just do whatever I have enough pictures for. sleepingbooty Monthly PL-ers can do multiple spreads, not just the one. This is kinda obvious now that you all responded, but it makes a ton of sense and allows me to let go of the limitations with week by week. I love it! Thanks for the response and clarity. I definitely think this is a better route for me. One more question - do you all date anything within the month? i.e. put a date stamp or other something on specific stories or pages? I date a lot of photos and cards. Part of it is because I really do like to know the exact date, and another part is my date stamp is one of my favorite embellishments

Got my title page done. Really wish I knew how to post pictures here lol. The only ways I know how are if you post on Instagram you can add the link there (if it’s not set to private). The way I do it is through the Tapatalk app. I don’t like the app for regular posting and only use it if I want to post a picture- if I can figure that out, Truly anyone can! Lol

Is there anywhere to get the good old A project life pages at this point? Amazon only seems to have mixed boxes, and I have plenty of the other formats.

I'm definitely doing PL 2023 but really I start until I finish up my 2022 album. Which album are you using? I've got a 12x12 BH that I bought on sale from zulily so I'll be using that. I do weekly spreads as well.
How are you getting your cards this year? (kit sub, one-off purchases, stash) I have one more month on my AE story kit sub, then I'm canceling. I've re-subbed to SC for this year. I don't need the class content and the 3x8/6x8 papers don't always work to cut down for PL so not worth the money for me.
What's your favourite thing about PL? I love the fact that I can go back and see what happened in the year. My family likes it too. Plus there is a sense of accomplishment when I can put the album on the shelf completed.
What's your main struggle with PL? Trying to stay caught up, the cost of photo printing, finding the right cards for continuity on a spread. AE story kit used to be ok for this but now with so few cards and some are just fillers, it just makes it hard to include Journaling. I thought about the SBTM sub but now that it will have the larger papers etc, AE isn't right for me this year.
Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to document in 2023? It's my 25th wedding anniversary this year and we want to celebrate with a trip but we are waiting until my surgery so I'll feel better on a holiday. I'm on a wait list so fingers crossed I get a date sooner rather than later.
Got any ideas for your title page? I plan on using our family photo from Christmas Eve (changed into b&w) and hopefully the Open themed story kit works for a title page. My OLW this year is Open.

I’m slow this year and I didn’t get a 2023 stamp in December. Is there any not sold out?
I can do ok, as I have the 2023 for Kerri Branford’s blocks of time ( I’m annoyed I missed her Year stamp update going to 2028 but maybe she’ll do a restock. ) But I wanted an additional stamp.

I just completed my 2022 weekly project life. Yay! I had fallen a bit behind (for me) since I’d been working on some December daily and one little word. Now I can move on to 2023 - I often like to get started on the week on Sunday evening if I’m not doing anything else and now I’m on track for that.

So their Christmas celebration? their album but they were visiting here for New Years so those will be in the family album.

I use the app "Today's Front Pages" and it allows me to either screenshot or download the image and I can pick anywhere in the world. I actually attempted to find a paper newspaper after the 2020 election and it was impossible.

Welp, I was going to start my 2023 PL today but my husband decided the rain was too much for him to drive to work so he's bogarting our shared office where all my crafty stuff is. I guess I'll just edit photos and work on it tomorrow if he doesn't get scared off by the rain again. (in his defense, we're getting crazy amounts of rain and his office parking lot floods on lesser rainy days). Hopefully this means the California drought is on it's way to being over!

The rain has been absolutely insane. The weather is also bogarting my scrappy plans somewhat, as it’s so dark and dreary it feels like I’m in a cave. Even with three lights on. Bah. Saps all my energy straight away. I saw a video on Instagram of a guy surfing at a beach and the text over the top said “in Nevada today” - I thought it was a joke. Like, California is so soaked that Nevada is now beach front. Uh, no. Not a joke. The dude was surfing waves at Tahoe. Ridiculous!

Over in NorCal, there was a group of guys surfing the river this past weekend. They had a tether to use to get out into the rapids and then they would let go once they got to a good spot. These are the same “rapids” that usually look more like a sad stream and where I take my elderly dog to play in the water! The weather is actually helping my scrappy pursuits today since my work has no power and I will get to go home early. Sounds like bonus scrappy time to me!!! Hope all the other Californian peas stay safe out there!!!

Now that I finished my December Daily, I can focus on PL (both catch-up and current). And ladies, I have a plan for this!! Thanks to lasteve1 (Linda Jordan's) Plan, Prep & Play class, I feel really good about setting my intentions, goals and action items for this year, and actually completing 2023 and 2022 PL albums. If you're on the fence about signing up for Linda's class, I think it's totally worth it. She's a great teacher, very organized and well spoken; she provides great handouts and multiple videos per lessons and, in just the first 4 lessons, she has me totally motivated! Which album are you using? scrapbook.com 9x12 album How are you getting your cards this year? (kit sub, one-off purchases, stash) I have a Studio Calico DK subscription, as well as Elle's Studio. I also recently sub'd to the Hip Kit Club PL kit. What's your favourite thing about PL? Documenting the little things in everyday life, and looking back on them. What's your main struggle with PL? Keeping up. But I've added action items to my 2023 calendar: the first week of each month I'll work on the previous month's spread, and the week of the 15th I'll work on previous year's spread. (I do monthly spreads, not weekly) Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to document in 2023? Yes! Disneyland later this month with my two youngest grandkids, a cruise and land tour of Alaska this summer, and some smaller trips, like New York City, Las Vegas, and California wine country. Got any ideas for your title page? I love a page I just saw in Instagram by lovelylittle_storyteller (I don't know how to link so here’s a screenshot).

Which album are you using? I need to buy two matching 12x12 albums this year. I learned my lesson in 2021 when I ran out of space. I am currently eyeing the Scrapbook.com black with white polka dots. I wanted the black and white stripe, but they are out of stock.
How are you getting your cards this year? (kit sub, one-off purchases, stash) I am going stash this year. I want to make a dent in my PL cards so the plan is to take a 6x6 pad of paper each month, pick some cards to match, and go with it. Each month will look different, but I am okay with that.
What's your favourite thing about PL? I like that it gives a structure to my albums and a place to tell all kinds of stories. I primarily do my journaling in my monthly PL spreads, so then when I make layouts, I can just focus on the creative parts and worry less about working in the journaling. Also, it gives a place for all kinds of odds and ends that otherwise wouldn't be captured.
What's your main struggle with PL? Taking enough photos. Remembering to take photos. Getting motivated to take photos. Figuring out which photos to take. (Notice a theme here?)
Do you have any stories you're already looking forward to document in 2023? We had an early January (and very rainy) trip to Disneyland. Due to the weather I didn't take a lot of photos, but it will be a good start to the album.
Got any ideas for your title page? I will be searching Pinterest for inspiration to see if anything tickles my fancy. For now I am contemplating just picking a favourite photo from the year and printing it 12x12. The first page will remain blank until I decide.
