Happy New Year, kellyr21! Here is hoping the next few months will be quieter and you can unpack all those pretty papers and art supplies and just play! Linda, I see a ton of your pages in the sharing thread, so it looks like your mojo came back with a vengence! I have been able to scrap a little every day, and it feels wonderful. But I really need to do some serious cleaning in this house too, so I may have to put scrapping on hold for a few days to do that. So far I have been using the excuse that if I can just finish scrapping all the Christmas pages, then I can put away my christmas crafting supplies and that can be the start of my usual January clean fest. So by scrapping I am actually working TOWARD a clean house ... nylene, my dh's grandparents on both sides came over to Canada sometime before 1914. His sister had been in contact with a relative of her husband's (his dad and mother emigrated here between the wars), but we have had no contact with any relatives in the "old country". She had planned a trip to Ukraine for spring 2020--not to see relatives, but to see the country--but that was cancelled due to Covid.

grammadee, thanks for the info about your DH's Ukrainian background. I'm sorry his sister didn't get to see Ukraine in 2020. Now it will never be the same place it was before. My heart aches for all those people and what they have to endure. kellyr21, so nice to see your smiling face pop up. I'm glad they are through with construction projects for a while. That must have been difficult to live with day to day. I'm glad you have found an art class. What kind of abstract art did you do? I hope it continues and that you enjoy it. It was fun getting online with kitbop, joyfulnana and gramma on Sat. I had really missed seeing all you guys. I learned new techniques, got new ideas for fonts and just totally enjoyed chatting. Thanks for setting it up. We got new hearing aids for DH just before Christmas. We haven't been very happy with them, but had them adjusted today and I think they will be better. It's pretty hard when you can't see much or hear much. He has lots of empathy for Helen Keller! grammadee, thanks for all the new ideas in the Teams points. I like it much better. I had planned not to join this quarter, but I'm really glad I did. So thank you to you and all those involved in coming up with new ideas. You are the best!

kellyr21 - hopefully the chaos calms down this year nylene - love those cards and the fishing layout is cute with all the fishies! hope the hearing aids are working better for your DH. grammadee - my heart break for Ukraine -they've endured so much. No scrapping yesterday - we were in the city for DD's Girl Scouts and did some errands during her meeting. It was a rough knees day - today is a little better but I'm staying off them as much as possible. I did enroll in the free (!) virtual physical therapy program DH's company offers - I have a video onboarding call tomorrow and will get a tablet and sensors in 5-7 days to use during the sessions - it'll be 4x/week and I'm hoping makes a difference with my knees. I have dinner in the crockpot (lentil & hambone soup) and bread baking (molasses bread). Hoping to scrap once I get a few more chores done

So thank you to you and all those involved in coming up with new ideas. You are the best! That new plan was worked on and discussed by a LOT of people, but the overall framework was kitbop's brainchild. I just did a bunch of copying and pasting.

Happy Monday! Waving hi to you all and hope you are having a nice day. It is cold with light rain today. So, I am staying in and enjoying my day. We had a nice Sunday. Went to church and then a visit to Michaels. I found this adorable front door mat with a cute turquoise blue truck with flowers on it for $12.00 dollars. Also, I got some paints and canvases. I popped in the gallery yesterday and saw many of your creations. Gotta catch up on all the fun. nylene- Hugs to you and your dh! I hope those aids help his hearing soon. Hang in there! Yeah, the art we did in the class was abstract art. The guest teacher taught some of her techniques and style. It is similar to the art journaling I have done over the years. So today, I want to try another one and see what happens. linda- Sounds like the exercise class might help give your knees some support. I hope it helps. How are your cats babies doing these days? I had a dream last night that I had a cat and she came and snuggled up with me and that felt so kind and warm. Maybe, I will have a pet at home point. Your crockpot dinner sounds yummy! I have never cooked in my crock pot. I must try it.

Hey Peas! I've been lurking again. DH and I spent Christmas with my family and then spent the 28th with his. Dean headed back to work on Jan.3, but I got to stay home until Jan.9. Saturday we headed to Edmonton (about 2.5 hour drive from home) to see Fiddler on the Roof and stayed overnight at a hotel. The show was wonderful. While I was on holidays I read and knitted quite a bit. I finished the main part of my afghan. Now I just have to weave in the many, many ends and knit the border. I'm not sure if it is realistic to try and finish it by the end of January now that I'm back at work. I also have quite a bit of reading to do for my various book clubs. Looking forward to seeing grammadee on the 23rd to discuss The Thursday Murder Club. I think I might be doing more layouts in smaller notebooks this year. So far I've done a few daily pages, a page for One Little Word, and one card. Daily Page 1/3/23Move Daily Pages 1/4/23

kellyr21, from news reports it sounds like CA is really being hit with wind and rain. Anj says the school playground is a huge swimming pool because of all the rain. Have you had flooding in your area? What kind of products are you using for your abstract art? Is it something you can share with us? justjac, I always enjoy your journaling pages. The gnome page made me giggle. I need to make a big poster of that and hang it in my entryway. It is so cute with that housecleaning gnome. Wish I had a housecleaning gnome I could call on weekly! How is school going after being out for Christmas. Did your student return? Linda, I'm sorry the knees took a workout in the city. I hope the class helps them. My knees are empathizing with yours! I have spent the day doing some heavy and much needed deep cleaning and organizing in my scraproom. As I go, I pull out things I may use for the photos I already have and for those that I plan to order from Costco tomorrow. I am so sad that they are closing their photo service. I have done a lot of purging. I have more cards than I will use this year so I plan to box up a bunch and send to cards for soldiers. I think I have a lifetime of supplies in this room and could go forever just buying adhesives. I have been very frugal since the AC warehouse closed. I did buy a EP Finding Nemo pad for some fun Eddie photos, but otherwise, only adhesives and white paper for almost 2 years. Back to work!

Happy way belated New Year! I feel like I've been scrapping a lot but have little to show for it lol. I do have 2 pages done, two more 2 pagers in process. I'm still fighting with my car, although I was able to get in last week, and it was a grounding cable that had come off that caused the problem. So that's all good and now I still have to get the tire fixed - and hope I don't need 4 new ones (I think I might lol) I'll be taking it in for that either Friday or Saturday. My niece and I have decided to crop together for a couple of hours on Tuesday evening (when we used to watch This is Us together and message each other through the whole thing lol) So now we set up a facebook call and we are listening to Dateline podcasts while we craft lol. Surely, eventually something will get completed lol. I absolutely love the new way of tracking challenges thank you so much kitbop for coming up with it! I'm more likely to look through them so see what I can use on a page, instead of checking after the fact. I got half the yarn I ordered for the blanket I'm making for myself. Same pattern, just different colors. I make things for other people and never myself, so the next blanket is MINE, and then I'll see about the others lol. kellyr21 I'll bet you're glad the construction is almost done! Your art classes always sound so fun. Linda I'm glad you had such a lovely time with your family all together. I hope the class helps your knees. justjac I always love seeing your smaller size pages, they look so fun! grammadee that's sad that DH's sister didn't get to go visit before this awful war was started. I agree with your theory of finishing the scrapping getting you toward the clean house lol. I have got such an itch to really clean things and declutter. I think all the extra things that come in the door during December make it feel too crowded lol. Waving Hi to everyone, it was so good to see you all Saturday. gramma I've been thinking about you with all of the rains and flooding. I hope the worst of it is missing you.

joyfulnana, what color is YOUR blanket going to be? Inquiring minds want to know! I hope you have a great time scrapping with your niece and that you both accomplish a lot. Does she do cards? layouts? other? It was fun seeing you on Sat. Seems like it had been forever since I "saw" you! I am still cleaning and working in my scraproom. I went through very old file folders that haven't been looked at for years. To show how old they are, I found the will my DS and his then wife gave us when they took an extended vacation and left their son with me for a week. He was just a toddler...today he is in his last year at the university. There were other things in there that were also no longer relevant. Have a great day, Pokeys. I'm heading back to organizing!

Good morning, Pokeys. I slept in this morning, so not sure if my day is going to go really well due to the extra hour's rest, or be like trudging through like "molasses in January" as my grandmother used to say. Good luck with your heavy clean, nylene, and good job on your craft supply austerity program. I buy "possibilities" but by the time I have the items home with me I go back to what I know how to do and the new toys often stay in their packaging. I need to figure out what to do with tons of CTMH stamps collected over years of "10-4-10" evenings, where each of the ten club members agreed to purchase a flat minimum each month and then one of the months got to host and reap all the cool hosting benefits. I also need to go through a bunch of wet media. I do like to play with that, but it goes in fits and starts, and when I have been away from it for awhile I often come back to discover the goo in the containers has seized up and is useless. joyfulnana, I am glad you have your toes back in the creative pool and have set up regular dates to play. Sorry I have missed all the virtual fun but the one time I tried to join my ipad was being difficult. Like me, it is "out of memory" alot of the time and it picks and chooses--seemingly at random--which of my requests it wants to carry out. Can't wait to see what you do with those paints and canvasses, kellyr21! That class sounds fun. I see that Dyan Reavely will be doing a class for SBCfest this spring. The event is free and she is a fun instructor: justjac and I attended a weekend event a few years ago where she was the key presenter. Hope your virtual physio goes well, Linda. Do they do an assessment in person first? The biggest benefit I got from my sessions for my knees a few years ago was getting the PT to watch the positioning of my feet while I did the routines. She helped me align everything properly and after that, paying attention to the alignment each time, the sessions went really well. After I did my NY pages yesterday I started sorting photos and making lists of pages I hope to create with them. Since I need to put together a birthday card this morning, I will switch to that bin of supplies and do the only bd LO on the list. I have more Christmas/holiday pages left to do than I had thought, so I think after my bd cards & pages I will start building kits for the remaining holiday pages. Okay. Enough nattering. Time to grab a second cup of coffee and start making those cards. Using my last wiper card from the PhotoPlay kit today. But I ordered another couple of kits on Amazon, cuz the ones I have sent have been hits.

kellyr21 - glad to see you - your art classes always sound awesome! And that doormat was a good buys - I bet it's cute! Cats are doing good - the littlest one (Dusty) doesn't like to be cold so he's been snuggling under the covers with me at night. (he's not that little - he's 11 lbs -but he's slight and has a thinner coat than the others). justjac - Lucky you seeing Fiddler! I love your mini-pages and that card is fabulous! nylene - well done both on the cleaning/organising AND on not buying! Looking forward to seeing new layouts from you joyfulnana - hopefully that's the end of the car issues and that tyres aren't too expensive. GREAT job making a blanket for you next - I think many of us relate to making for others and not ourselves. Also curious about your colour choice grammadee - totally relate to sticking with tried and true - one of my goals this year is not to delve into anything else new but to continue working with the neglected possibilities I already have. Good luck with the photo sorting - I got an order in yesterday's mail so need to do that as well. First virtual physio was today - it was pretty neat - there are motion sensors I strap to my chest, thighs, and shins that connect with the tablet. And before I start each exercise, I need to be in the correct position and the digital therapist did give real time corrections a couple of times. My actual PT reached out afterwards to get feedback on the exercises and gave me some tips for adjusting a couple. I really hope this helps - I've needed Physio for years but timing/transportation haven't made it possible (downside of not driving and living rural)

Glad your virtual PT session went well, Linda . I hope it helps your poor knees. How are the hearing aids working out, nylene . Dh is digging in his heels about getting a set b/c he has heard so many horror stories about how they distort sound.
Good to see the Gallery and sharing thread hopping. There is love in the Gallery for you, nylene and kitbop and justjac. Trying to keep up with your creations in the Sharing Thread, Linda. joyfulnana how are your car issues coming along toward being solved. What a blessing to be able to work from home so you don't depend on that thing! My photos are all sorted and I have a list of possible titles on each envelope. I woke up thinking I would be sorting papers and other scrappy supplies to go with them, maybe doing some die cutting to finish off the kits. But then dh decided to go to town for coffee, leaving me home alone, so I thought I might be able to complete one more LO while the house is quiet. But my muse has slept in this morning. I think that organizing brain took over while I was sleeping. That side is judgemental and cranky, so I think what I started will have to end up in a kit rather than as a finished project. I have to head into town myself today to put my dgs's bd gift into the mail. Yesterday I put together a wiper card for him. For his 11th birthday, he asked for a Top Gun plane to build with a set like LEGO. He is a huge Top Gun fan, so I added a fighter jet to fly up when he pulls the card open. I need to wrap his gift, pop in the card and get this in the mail today--his birthday is next Friday and he is in Calgary. Closed the card says Happy Birthday and shows just the open sky. When you pull it open the jet swoops up with the "over the top" part of the greeting.

Happy Friday! Waving hi and hope you are having a nice day. I have been a little warmer the last few days but more rain is coming. nylene thankfully we haven't got the big storm that other areas got. Just a little light rain here and there. Got some much needed cleaning done today. Still have the kitchen and my craft area to organize. I have needed a new area rug and I just ordered one from Amazon. Our old one is SO bad! LOL! Here is one of the abstract art paintings I did in the class last month. I thought about the word "trust" as I was painting that day so I added it on top when I was finished. During that time, we were in the mist of the apartment chaos and I needed to focus on trusting God for strength and hope. The canvas is 20x20 and the first time I ever worked on that size before. I love how it turned out. Trust Me by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr nylene- How is the cleaning going? I wish I had a magical wand to whip my place up to shape. LOL! Oh man, Angie's area really got some bad rain. I hope it is better now. We need the rain but not disruptive rain. Geez! linda- Oh, I am so glad your pt appointment went well. Hope you will start to feel relief soon. So cute to heard your cat like to stay warm and cuddle in your bed. That cat is smart! LOL! grammadee- SO cool you and justjac got to take a Dyan Reavely class. I not real familar with her work but I did take a class on Scrapbook dot com with her. I think I have used some of her products, too. She is amazing and I gotta check out more of her work. Oh, I just found her YouTube channel and it looks fun. Thanks for mentioning her. joyfulnana-Hey Leslie! You had a nice time, too scrapping. I hope to dust off my paper crafting supplies soon. How is Abby these days? justjac- Waving hi! Wow, you had a terrific holiday seeing that play and time with the fam. So exciting to hear you finished the knitting project. Tying in the loose ends doesn't sound fun but at least you will be so happy when you are finished. What colors did you use?

grammadee- that's a super fun card - he's sure to love it. Tell your dh that the new hearing aids are much better than the older ones. My bestie got a set recently that she can hear her phone through - makes phone calls so much easier for her. She's really very happy with hers. kellyr21 - love the colours on that painting and yes, trusting in God gets us through so many hard things, doesn't it? Another PT session today - they worked me a bit harder and I'm feeling it tonight. I'm really hoping it helps. Up early this morning to drop DD16 off - she's spending the long weekend canoeing and wilderness camping. I hope she keeps warm enough - we have lows below freezing predicted all weekand and highs only in the 50s and it'll be windy on the river. She'll be back Monday afternoon. Her school only has Monday off but her troop is based in a different county (school district) and they all had Fri and Mon off so we decided to let her skip today so she could go on the trip. She has a backpacking trip in March that she'll have to miss a day for also - the two districts have different spring breaks and it's set for Th-Su at the end of theirs and hers starts on the Friday. But there's no troop closer so... Picked up new glasses on Wednesday and brought them back today- the distance isn't right - everything is soft and unclear. And usually I just get a balanced lens for the left as my vision there is so bad but apparently he actually prescribed a lens for it this time...and my eye has been aching ever since and everything is hazy on the left side of my vision - I think because the eye is trying to focus and just can't whereas usually my brain just ignores everything from it. Hopefully they'll fix them for me - the tech took notes and will talk to the doctor. For as much as they cost...I would like them to work better than the ones I'm replacing.

grammadee , I love that Top Gun card. Those wiper cards are pretty cool and this one is going to be loved! As I read your post about your NY photos I thought,"When did she go to New York?" It took a minute and then I realized it was New Years. I was thinking you were holding out on us about a big trip! At one time I almost joined in on a Stampin Up group like your 10-4-10 stamps. I am not a good stamper and I was afraid they wouldn't get used. I would love to see what kind of stamps you got. DH's hearing aids are doing better. He didn't have them far enough into his ears and they were whistling a lot. He seems to be ok with them now, but in the car when it is below freezing, they whistle when we turn a corner, when he talks or yawns or when we hit a bump. Linda , your virtual PT sounds great. It sounds very involved with the sensors, but I'm sure that's what will help make them better. I love your last page you posted in the sharing thread. That photo realistic paper is perfect for the background and the torn green papers are so grounding. Very pretty. I am sorry about your problem with your glasses. I hope they can get it changed so that you can see well AND not have your eye aching. I hope your DD has a fun and safe canoeing trip! kellyr21, your abstract painting is beautiful. I know nothing about abstract art but I know what is pleasing to my eye and I really like this. Adding the word Trust was a great idea. I agree that life is so much better when we trust in God and pray for his guidance. This will be a nice painting to hang and see every day. I still have a lot of things pulled out in my scraproom that need to be sorted and purged, but when my work area was cleared and I had pulled out papers to use I had to sit down and scrap. I have cleaned up my work area completely after each page, but I need to get back to sorting. I have 4 pages I need to post.

Whew what a day! Finally got the tired looked at today, and it couldn't be repaired. And it's AWD so lets just say my car has had a very nice Christmas New battery, now new tires, and all the cool tools, sockets, and whatnot lol. But everything works now. grammadee my working from home was the only saving grace. And probably the biggest reason it took so long to get running lol. I thought the same thing nylene did about your NY pictures at first lol. Linda I hope the PT does some good. Fingers crossed for DD to be warm this weekend, I second that she's going to miss a couple days. In case you wanted confirmation that it's the right thing lol. Add me to the jealous ones about your robo helpers! that's awesome I hope they are saving you a ton of work. I also hope they get your glasses straightened out. Soon! That has to be awful. nylene the blanket I'm making next, the one for me haha lol, is a color scheme called Winter Berry. The colors don't look quite like I thought they would. I thought it was going to be a cream, burgundy and gray/blue. But the cream is more of a golden orangey red. I'll post a picture so you guys can see what I mean. I've already decided if I don't care for it, then it can be for someone else lol. Your deep decluttering sounds cathartic. I always have an urge at this time of year to declutter. kellyr21 I love your painting! It's so pretty. Abby is good! I've been following along with yoga with Adrienne and Abby camps out next to- or on the yoga mat and intently watches the video lol. I hope the upgrades they've been doing are awesome and worth all the hassle! gramma , sorry I didn't make it tonight, but tomorrow looks good. Your cards are so pretty! And I recognize that pink and black LO from the crop a couple weeks ago. Speaking of the crops, I have been wanting to ask you guys about something. gramma , you and I have talked about how we would like to have a crop at least once a month. What if we also had a chat thread that went along with the online crop? Like a mini crop on the board, and a place for people that would like some "company" but not face to face, can share and chat. But I mean strictly a chat/sharing thread, not prompts or anything. Coming back to add: that maybe that sounds like a lot of work lol. Feel free to toss it lol

nylene - I'm glad that your dh's hearing aids are working better - hopefully the in-car whistling goes away. You've been working hard in your scraproom! gramma - those cards are so pretty and spring-y - love the bunny! Congratulations to your DD on the new home! Looks like a fun and festive celebration and I love the layered trees you used! Happy Birthday to your DGD - the pink and black is an awesome combination! Merry Christmas to your car joyfulnana - hopefully it shows its appreciation by not needing anything more. Tyres are expensive. Yes- do share the blanket colours - I'm sorry it's not quite what you had expected. I love the crop thread idea joyfulnana and I don't think it would be too much work - just someone to start it up and maybe toss a question out now and then to keep chat going. I would be happy to be involved. I love the online chats but technology doesn't always work out for me and since my scrap space doesn't have a door - it's harder when everyone is home. DD16 did text me that's she's warm enough and having fun! I'm not especially concerned about her missing school for Girl Scouts - she's made straight A's the first two terms even with all her absences (between being sick, breaking her arm, getting the concussion...) and she's good about staying on top of assignments and making up work. Just wish the school district wasn't so picky about truancy. My robo-helpers are certainly doing a better job of vacuuming daily than I ever did, lol.

So weird. I can get every thread to open by clicking on the title except this one. I have to click on the page 2 link. That's great that DD is warm and having fun! Here's the photo of the yarn. And I just went to the Joann site, it's not cream but I guess I expected something a little pinker, and not so orange-y lol. They come bundled in a circle, then you cut the zip tie and each "skein" or color is a stripe. At least for the blankets I'm knitting lol. So super easy, the pattern calls for 4 of those bundles, and a simple garter stitch. Soooo nice to zone out on the couch after work and watch TV with. And now seeing the photo, I like it, I think this will be my keeper lol.

That Winter Berry looks pretty, joyfulnana. Good luck with your blanket. Thanks for sharing your creations, gramma. Will take a closer look on Flickr. And thanks for hosting the virtual crops. I haven't tried to join in since my failed attempt last week. But I hope to get onto one of them soon. Miss you guys. Glad your dd is having fun and enjoying time with friends, Linda. I found with physio that the first few sessions were tough, but it got easier as time went on. Hang in there. Christmas is gone from my whole house today, except for my craft room. Dd & family arrived mid day yesterday and this morning took down the tree and packed away all the tubs of decoration. We wound up with a vaccuum/dusting fest, and they were on the road again by 3:00 this afternoon. Whew! Lots more space, but it looks pretty blah with all the tinsel and lights gone... Before I start packing up the kits and cleaning up THIS room, I have one page almost done from Saturday morning and an idea for what its partner will look like, so I hope to get that LO finished tomorrow if I don't have to take our older cat to the vet. He seemed on death's door on Tuesday evening, but then rallied Wednesday through the weekend--acting in his usual way, greeting me, weaving between my feet going down the stairs--but I don't think he is eating. Today was busy but when I looked in on him he was really sound asleep. Not sure if he is heading downhill again, or...

joyfulnana - I got a bunch of errors earlier also. Seems to be back to normal now. I LOVE the yarn colours - that'll make a beautiful blanket! grammadee - ((((Hugs))) I hope your kitty is okay. If you could all pray please. My best friend's nephew was in a car crash - he was the passenger but wasn't wearing a seatbelt . He didn't make it. He was 16, only 4 months older than my youngest. The family could really use prayers (and I'm sure the driver and his family could as well - that's a heavy burden on a teen)

Oh Linda I'm so sorry. (((hugs))) How terrible. There are just no words when someone so young loses their life. I'll keep your friend's family and yours in my thoughts and prayers. I'll send good thoughts for your kitty too grammadee.

Just read your message about your friends' loss, Linda. What a shock to everyone. (HUGS) to you all. So many young people are lost because they believe they will live forever... No trip to the vet today. He seems to be licking up bits of food. Seems to be rallying, but we will do another assessment later today.

nylene, you had asked me in November if I was getting together with family for Thanksgiving. I didn’t get to because I worked. I guess my youngest niece and her husband spent time at my parents. I was glad I got to see her after I got off work one morning for coffee. We never did get together for Christmas like we were supposed to because of the flu between some family members. This last weekend I went to a crop in St. Louis. It was nice to meet up with some friends I chat with online on another MB. My computer started messing up in November and just haven’t been online much. I tried to use my laptop at the crop to cut things with my Cameo and it was worse! The screen keeps jumping and I can’t focus on the lines. I put my laptop in the shop for diagnostics today. I am afraid it may be an expensive repair from what I was told. I finally had to give up. I did finally get one LO completed. I had worked with this LO when on the the zoom crop in October. I need to get it uploaded and share soon. I had a sleep study interview today. After talking and answering all of the questions they asked me, they suspect I have sleep apnea. I am to do a home sleep study soon to verify what they suspect. I have been having problems with my blood pressure and it may be related to sleep apnea. I have seen at least 3 specialist in the last year. I sure hope they figure this all out soon. I need to get busy getting started with meal prepping for the week for work. I hope to check back soon!
