nylene - I'm sorry that the shingles was rough. Hope you're feeling better soon and that your DH is also. Have you recovered from that fall? Watching Swayzee sledding sounds so fun! I love your layouts - I always forget to post for the Pokey points kitbop - wow - so much photo editing! well done! I know that's a HUGE job could it be our age showing??? I'm guessing you and I are close in age definitely MY age showing - I'm 52 but I had guessed you for a bit younger. knutschen -sorry about the repair cost but I think buying new instead was wise. Good luck with pet therapy for Zoe.

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys! nylene, I hope you recover soon from your fall and from the Shingles vaccine. Watching kids' sledding is great fun: glad you got to watch AND take pic's. Can't wait to see your pages on that. The other day, I took a few pic's of dgs and his friend sliding down a small snowbank onto a driveway. Not the majestic look of sliding down a long hill, but it was what they wanted to do, and I could get quite close to get some photos, so I guess it was a win-win. Dd was going to take him sliding to the river hill today, but after coming out of hockey practice he decided he would rather stay home and watch a movie instead. -21C without the considerable wind chill factor. BRRRR.... Speaking of WINNING, I guess ONE of us has to feel like a winner after today, right, joyfulnana? Have fun watching the game. knutschen, please let us know how the new tablet works out for you. Both dh and I have older ipads and they are having increasing difficulty keeping up with all the new apps and updates. Not looking forward to getting new ones b/c WE are having increasing difficulty coping with upgrades! Looking forward to seeing your new art projects, kellyr21. kitbop, my back and shoulders hurt just thinking of you sitting in front of a computer that long editing photos! Where will you be submitting them? And how soon will you get them back to play with? How are you doing, gramma? Has your dh recovered from his fall? Did the medical people finally get their act together and set up some appointments for him? Sorry I have been absent from the crops. Hoping to join in next weekend if only just to chat. My best scrapping hours are early in the morning, and by afternoon or evening I have usually run out of steam--and ideas. This morning I worked on my sample for 28-4-28, and went on to use Linda's sketch from yesterday to put together a facing page. But I don't think I will share either one until Tuesday evening when I post the challenge. Okay, off to get something done around the house...

Popping in to wish gramma good luck with her game today, I will still root for your team. Even though you will be rooting against mine lol. It's not quite 8AM and I've already got the pregame chatter shows on. It feels like SuperBowl Sunday for me lol. I even bought a 6 pack of beer LOL. I'll be hitting the couch hard and knitting on my blanket. (good thing it's an easy pattern in case things go South and I need all those beers) LOL. I finally finished a LO last night in the crop. I'll have to wait for better light so I can take a picture. I hope you all have an awesome Sunday! It's a lot of work being a 49er fan. One year sky high, next in the cellar! I won't be surprised if the "noise" gets to Purdy today. He's only played, what 7 games? I won't root against your team just your QB's mom. ;-)

grammadee. Two medical appointments last week. I might have used phrases like "substandard care" "lack of coordination" "elderly, frail". Met with Ken's primary care guy who reviewed his records and found a couple of meds that shouldn't be taken together if at all. Also a neurology appointment that should have yet another scan before the appointment. At the end I asked him if he could handle being the doctor I charge of the whole plan of care. He said he could. I asked him if he would. He said he would. I didn't cry and I didn't swear so we'll see what happens next. Thanks to all of you for being so supportive and listening to me complain and whine and rant

So frustrating, gramma. Hope your "primary care guy" follows through and gets things happening. PCN's (primary care networks) are a new thing here and at this point I am having trouble seeing them working well, so far. Our GP, who retired a year or so ago, was really good at knowing what we needed, ordering tests and referring us for further assessment, tying everything together--pretty much what a PCN is supposed to do. And at about the same time our pharmacist retired. He had also known us for a long time and was quick to double check new prescriptions against current meds if the doctor missed anything. But without them now, it seems like every health issue is completely different from every other issue and no one seems to be connecting the dots. Meanwhile the PCN's are syphoning money out of our public health system, leaving fewer dollars for preventative and acute care. There. That is MY rant for the day...

definitely MY age showing - I'm 52 but I had guessed you for a bit younger. 1970 babies rule!!! editing photos! Where will you be submitting them? And how soon will you get them back to play with? Sent them into costco before the midnight deadline. With 9 minutes to spare. They're estimating "Feb 3-14 for delivery, which is quite a range! So I'm not expecting them this week, but maybe next? I already have received the first 500 prints which were this Christmas alone... and it's overwhelming to have such choice in choosing what to scrap. gramma - I'm glad the PCP took responsibility. It's a start. grammadee - yes, having PCPs/pharmacists retire is a pain. My Mom never got a doc who would take any responsibility in "knowing her" after hers retired 5 years ago. She felt like she was blowing around in the wind and that care was incomplete. My own PCP had to retire early (MS) but the one who took over for him is actually way better. She hounds me

Looking forward to seeing your 28-4-28 challenge grammadee - and your sliding photos! What a pain with retirements - hopefully the PCN works out. gramma - I hope that the primary care doctor does coordinate everything - someone has to or stuff gets missed. So frustrating kitbop - 1970 for you also? DH is as well - he just turned 53 last wknd...I have until the end of August before I do. I get ranges like that from Amazon Photos but almost always get them by the beginning of the range if not earlier. The ones I ordered last Monday were scheduled for late this coming week, then I got an arriving early email saying Friday and they actually came Thursday. Making some progress on December scrapping today. DH and DD16 drove by a car lot to check out a possible car for her today - it looks good but DH will need to test drive. She wants to learn to drive standard and the only standard we have isn't running (DH's project car)

If they can get and keep ALLLLL the QBs healthy they are going to be in the hunt for years. But that doesn't help today. I'm so bummed about how this played out. I think Purdy would have done well, I don't know if they could have won, but I think he would have kept it close.

knutschen, I hope things go well with your puppy therapy! I'm sure you will love that new laptop..in time. It's hard to get new electronics and have to do the transferring and the learning of new things. Good luck to you as you get used to it. gramma, thanks for starting the chat yesterday. It really felt good to spend a few hours gluing paper together and chatting with good friends. I'm so proud of you for standing up for Ken and not breaking down or swearing. I'm sure you sounded concerned but professional and apparently the Dr. understood and wants to help. Hugs to both you and Ken. grammadee, joyfulnana and gramma, I hope that you will stay friends when this year is over in the Sports department! LOL kitbop and Linda, no wonder I love you guys so much. You are the same age as my oldest DD and she is so much fun. She was born 25 days before 1970 however. So many different ages in the Pokey Peas, but what a great time we have together. I love the online chats as we really get to know each other. You guys are the best!

Omg that was hard to watch!! I can’t believe they did it. I gave up on them lol. I still have beers! Lol I knew when they replayed the play when Purdy's injury happened that they were likely done. Elbows aren't meant to bend that way. I held out hope for a while because he kept his helmet on when they are usually taken away when a player is not going to be allowed back in the game. Then watching Mahomes limp around the field - I began to think there would be no reason to watch the super bowl.
