First day is a wrap! What was your favorite?
I really like Meghann Anderson's last card, the one with stencils, but I wish the stencils could have been full sheets of each design. I got tired moving the stencil around for each quatrefoil, and then blocking it off so the ink didn't go where it wasn't supposed to go. I used my own colors and really like how it turned out.

Meghann's set is one of my favorites from the whole C&C. I agree that a full sheet of stencil of the "big three" designs would've been nice. I dislike masking and cleaning each time. It was probably to keep the cost at a certain price point.
I always love how easy Angie Blom's cards are to watercolor. DH even commented my shading on the pitcher to make it look round. {insert high-five here}
The CC classes were just OK for me. I always think she goes too fast and I'm an experienced card maker. I thought the paper piecing product was very useful. I def will buy more of that.
Looking forward to today.

I love Meghann's cards. They were also my favorites of the whole weekend when I first went thru the book and her live did not disappoint. I think I'm in the minority because I like that the stencil is not a full sheet of the quatrafoil. There's definitely a lot of masking but I l think it's much more versatile with the smaller portions of a stencil. One tip for stencils, definitely use alcohol to clean them. This is a game changer. I got a tiny spray bottle, filled it half way with alcohol and put a paper towel in a rectangle Tupperware container and just spray my stencils in the the Tupperware and then wipe them off. These are the spray bottles I use: www.dollartree.com/crafters-square-2oz-clear-refillable-pump-spray-bottles-2ct-packs/296372

Love your watercolour, MDscrapaholic. Would love to see your qhatrefoils in your chosen colours. The only class I actually completed was the Crafters Companion one. My dgs is arriving this morning, so I will be watching the rest of the classes later on YT. Have fun! For cleaning stencils, I put a folded paper towel on the table, open it up and put the used stencil on half. Spritz lightly with hand sanitizer, close the towel and pat. The stencil comes out clean and the towel can be reused for the next one.

I love Meghann’s projects too and cannot wait to play with the designs more. I skipped the Hero Arts class this morning (too early), but will watch it later. Love Sara from CC - she is adorable and I wish I could bottle her energy, but am not a fan of the CC aesthetic. I skipped making the projects last time and TBH will likely skip making the ones from this class too.

Well, dang. My sentiment for the second SpellBinders card won't stamp correctly. It's missing the ends of the third and fourth lines. Booo... I don't like the sentiment anyway, but wanted a finished card! Especially a shaker card.
Hope the last card goes together good.

Love your watercolour, MDscrapaholic . Would love to see your qhatrefoils in your chosen colours. I used Concord & 9th inks for the one on the left, and Distress Oxides for the one on the right. I need to emboss my sentiment on black paper to finish one on the right.

So I still haven't opened up my box (thanks, Covid), but I'm feeling well enough to shop using the discount codes. So far I've purchased a couple things: Honey Bee Stamps - Daisy Layers Bouquet stamps & stencils LDRS - MacKenna Christmas paper and ephemera What has everyone else picked up?

So far I’ve done spellbinders, hero arts, crafters companion, and meghann Andrew. I’m going to try to get scrapbook.com done tonight. These are long days. I took most of today off and I only got through 3 maybe 4 classes. I never do it live as I am on the west coast. Loving it so far!
Crafters companion is not my asthetic either but it was fun to learn the tips and tricks. I really enjoyed the other classes I did.

I started the first class as soon as it was over so I was able to stop the YT and catch up. I think this worked best for me and I'll consider doing it for future events. There was no pressure (self induced) to keep up. It was a long day but I did take a 30 minute or so break for lunch and dinner (West Coast here).
I always like Libby. My favorite HA card was the one with the fence that opened. I also loved her snake story.
The TE cards were really cute. I did change up one sentiment and left one blank to add later.
I thought the berry cards were cute and different.
I love Simons bonus card and will use the foam on scoreboard.
A good day of cards.

I finished one berry card. I can probably finish the HA pop-up and the first SB this morning before the first class. I thought I had the stencil aligned properly for TE, but didn’t, so that quickly became a watch-only experience.
I did better than I expected layering the bitty Spellbinders die cuts, but I haven’t attempted the skinny little letters yet.
Ink-blending makes sense to me with stencils bor for backgrounds like the HA ones, with sky and grass on the same panel. I grabbed pink and brown card stock from my stash for background and basket for the berries card.
I am for sure on Team Coloring! I’m looking very forward to the third SB card. I see that in addition to many Glimmer plates, they another outline stamp in that collection which tempts me. As near as I can tell, the collection is not among the products our code works on. But they have them at SB.C as well.
I think I might try playing with the TE stamp with brown or dark green ink, something really easily visible, before attempting those cards again. And then maybe try darkening the etching as she suggested. Very gratifying to see my ancient embossing powder is still good!

Dh just left for the morning. Dsil and dgs will be out of here in about 30 minutes. I need to choose one class to focus on when I have the house to myself.... Thinking I will try the Gina K one. Haven't done the homework, but can pause as I go to catch up. Or run the replay while I do the prep and then replay in sections as I work on the cards. Shakti, I have never been confident in my colouring skills, so I am loving the opportunity to learn some watercolour brushing and ink blending techniques. MDscrapaholic, I love your painted flowers. I switched up the colours and used Oxide inks with a water brush for mine.
Happy class day to everyone!

grammadee , that looks gorgeous! I'm new to watercoloring so had fun with it too. I used Distress Oxides too! Just finished GinaK's class - OMG her cards are stunning! I did the first two but had to stop before the third one. Will attempt that one Monday when I'm not rushed. They announced the dates for the fall C&C - September 29-October 1. Catherine said last night it's going to be "smaller" than this one, so that makes me happy. Hope the price goes back down a little.

I hope you feel better soon! I have been a good little shopper. In my defense, I haven’t made any card supply purchases (other than a PF order during their event) since Thanksgiving. I’ve placed orders with Honey Bee, Taylored Expressions, SBdotcom, and I’m thinking one more. So much fun stuff

Maybe it's me.

I got quite a few cards made yesterday.
I was disappointed with my ink colors for the Taylored Expressions class but that’s on me. I really disliked my stenciling on Kraft cardstock too. I wonder if Taylor’s Kraft is lighter shade than what we got in our box? Hers was muted but not a brown mess like mine. 😂
Gina’s class was too early for me this morning and Stamps of Life is one I was planning to skip so I’ve been finishing up yesterday’s cards. I’ll start with Lawn Fawn at 11:30 pacific and then do Gina’s after the rest of the days classes.
Hopefully I can get some pictures uploaded later this evening.
Have fun today!

I made one card kinda mix & matching Gina's supplies and ideas. I stenciled first before cutting. Then I decided to cut the overlay. It is a bit wonky, but I still like the effect. I lightly brushed some green around the edges: it smoothed the leaf outlines a bit, and gave the whole diecut a bit of shadow. GinaK layered stencils & dies by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I think in the fall I will just go with the papercrafting. Or if they have another Holiday crafting weekend I might sign up for that. I still have $50 in gc's from Christmas gifts to burn, so...

I’m glad I took Stephanie’s class to see how those fold-it’s are supposed to work.
Gina’s class was awesome — she is an amazing teacher.

I want to make that cupcake shaker card but not enough time all in one block today. That instructor does seem a little over the top LOL. I took some time to make a card out of my watercolour panel. Edged a white cs scrap with a spritzed puddle of Oxide ink. Backed it with another scrap. Cut the curved strip ALMOST to the edges of the front of my 5x7 card base, lightly inked it, and slipped the matted panel through. Let my decofoil glue dry too long, so after an attempted re-foiling, I wrote the greeting with Pops of Colour.

I finished things! Well, the berry card I finished yesterday. The Spellbinders and one Gina K are without sentiments. And I die the present for the cat’s hand and didn’t realize I hadn’t adhered it until I was taking the photo.

I got home yesterday at 6:00 am after a red eye flight (where I couldn’t sleep at all). I spent a lot of Friday sleeping. Today I completed Gina’s class. I liked the layered stenciling. We had family plans after and I won’t have time to get back to classes until next weekend. Slow but steady for me and this event. :-)

I didn't do the double stenciling on GinaK's cards. I'm not a fan of the look so I just used one color. But I liked the cards. She is an excellent instructor and I love watching her lives on Tues nights.
I was leery about the cupcake cards when I first saw the set, but I really like them. And yeah, she was a fast talker and I needed a break after her class and I was watching the replay and stopping the going one step at a time.
I love Jenn (and LF) but I had a hard time maneuvering that rain stencil. haha. And I changed up the sentiment to say "have a RAINBOW birthday" using another set (LF Coaster Critters that we got in C&C March 2021)
Tasnim's set was beautiful. On the "blue" card, I masked off the white lily and splattered gold on it.
Brutus Monroe will have to wait for another day. Four classes were enough for me.
