I went looking on YouTube for an updated analysis by the body language men. I can't find one. Is there one out there?

I've heard the name but not followed this. Is there somewhere with a cliff notes version of the whole story? Thanks in advance!

Is there somewhere with a cliff notes version of the whole story? I laughed out loud at the thought of cliff notes on this one. It's the most complicated set of crimes you could possibly imagine. And you really can't tell the story without ALL of the story as it is so intertwined. I wish I could help you get caught up but I have no idea if anyone has been able to do anything approaching a succinct summary of Alex Murdaugh's crimes.

I think Netflix has a new short series about Alex Murdaugh and the many crimes involving their family.

I think Netflix has a new short series about Alex Murdaugh and the many crimes involving their family. My dad has been watching the trial and tried to explain it to me in one of the longest summaries I have ever conversed with anyone LOL so I decided to watch the netflix series... this situation is insane to say the least!!

I think Netflix has a new short series about Alex Murdaugh and the many crimes involving their family. They do - it dropped yesterday. I watched the first two episodes (of three) last night and just wanted to reach through the screen at times and smack people! So far, they have covered the boat crash where his son was driving the boat, and the wife and son have just been found murdered. It will be interesting to see where episode 3 takes us when I get to that. I think they will need to make a second series, to cover the trial once it is done.

I am so silly, on our way to Florida, we took a slight detour to go by the courthouse. My DH knows now how crazy I am!

I've heard the name but not followed this. Is there somewhere with a cliff notes version of the whole story? Thanks in advance! Let me try: Murdaugh himself is a lawyer who is descended from a line of lawyers who have had a stranglehold over the legal system in his small South Carolina town for generations. He is on trial for killing his wife and son. Things you should know: 1. The dead son was implicated in the death of a female friend in what seems to have been a DUI boating accident. Murdaugh seems to have tried to get one of his son's friend's to take the blame for driving. 2. Murdaugh has a serious substance use disorder. 3. Murdaugh is implicated in a number of financial crimes, several of which involved, it seems, pocketing insurance money to which he was not entitled, including a housekeeper who died after a fall on his property. He also seems to have embezzled money from the law firm where he worked, from which he was fired. 4. After his wife and son's deaths, he was shot in the head, roadside. He seems to have hired or entreatied a man to do the shooting. 5. The state's theory here is that the millions of dollars' of financial crimes were catching up with him, and he killed his wife and son for sympathy/distraction (pretending an intruder did it). There is a lot more, and probably other people would highlight different details, but that's a starter kit for you.

In the netflix series they also mentioned about Alex Murdaugh's son Buster had a close friend (possibly secret boyfriend instead of friend) that was found dead in the middle of the road as well. So many mysterious deaths surrounding this family!

How do you hire someone to shoot you in the head in hopes you survive it?

Let us not forget the 4 million payout for the family of the housekeeper who 'fell' down the stairs in the Murdaugh house. Murdaugh never told the family and kept the money. There were thoughts that she was pushed by the son Paul.

Yeah the housekeeper who 'fell' down the stairs was more than suspicious! I wouldn't trust any of the family, I think the whole lot of them were corrupt, born and raised to break the rules and cover up their indiscretions.

Is he intentionally trying to act dumb or like he is not confident being in court? I bet it's mind blowing to be IN the witness seat as opposed to the one asking the questions.

He's questioning every question, then filibustering. "Were you the primary breadwinner" is a super simple yes or no question. If I was the attorney I'd be fuming.

Murdaugh is implicated in a number of financial crimes, several of which involved, it seems, pocketing insurance money to which he was not entitled, including a housekeeper who died after a fall on his property. It's way past implication in the case of the dead housekeeper. He was arrested for the embezzlement, denied bond in that case, and ultimately “agreed to confessing a judgment of $4.3 million” to her family. They are also reportedly exhuming the housekeeper's body to try to prove foul play in what the Murdaugh family off-handedly called an accidental death.

I haven’t watched the rest of the trial so maybe I’m missing something. I’m having a hard time understanding how all of this questioning about the badge and the night of the boat accident has anything to do with the murders?

So far, they have covered the boat crash where his son was driving the boat, and the wife and son have just been found murdered. It will be interesting to see where episode 3 takes us when I get to that. I think they will need to make a second series, to cover the trial once it is done. I can across this series on Netflix just last night! A three part series which stops as they are waiting for the case to go to court. Will have to search for this follow up - I can't believe what this family have got away with so far and Alex is as guilty as sin. I have no doubt. If he didn't pull the trigger killing the son and wife he certainly paid for someone else to do it. Just my honest opinion.
