Calling it an “egregious security breach” that “endangers” U.S. Capitol Police, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries on Tuesday blasted Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for reportedly handing over to top Fox News propagandist Tucker Carlson 41,000 hours of video taken of the January 6, 2021 insurrection from all areas of the Capitol. One national security expert is warning that “McCarthy provided access to this video to the biggest propagandist for those who attacked the Capitol.”

"Starting almost immediately after some of his viewers attacked the the Capitol, Tucker has been running insanely stupid conspiracy theories, claiming the attack was launched by the Deep State rather than his own viewers and allies. Tucker eventually packaged the propaganda into such a slick propaganda film, it led conservative journalists to leave.”

“This time around,” Wheeler warns, “Tucker might opt for instructing his viewers how to succeed with the next attack rather than lying about the last one.”

She warns that the footage “could also be shared with foreign adversaries. Tucker has long been chummy with Viktor Orbán, and he himself revealed he had been picked up on intercepts seeking a back channel with Russia.”

The footage of what took place on January 6 is not the only problem per se. As some on Twitter have noted, it “gives away more than just where cameras are. It shows patrol routes, screening processes, response times, staging points, evacuation routes, shelter in place locations.”

“More importantly, though,” one Twitter user noted, “it shows when (and where) MOC [Members of Congress] entered the buildings. Which entries they used (remember, people are creatures of habit.)

It shows blind spots for the camers, choke points for the response, and (depending on the scope of the release) … It will give adversaries a general idea of USCP [U.S. Capitol Police] staffing during various parts of the day. It allows them to see (in real time) how officers get pulled away from locations to respond. They get to see what posts are staffed full time, which ones get part time coverage.”

This insanity really can't go unpunished. I've never thought that McCarthy was smart enough to be in a leadership position, and it seems my concerns were correct. 

I think that the Capitol Police should sue him. At the very least. 

The party of pro-life is truly hitting the bottom or have they always been there?!?! Of course he is an OathKeeper and was at the Capitol Jan 6th..

Alaska Republican stuns observers by asking about economic benefits of abused children's deaths

Republican Alaska state Rep. David Eastman this week stunned observers when he asked about the potential economic benefits of abused children dying.

The Anchorage Daily News reports that Eastman spoke up during a House Judiciary Committee hearing that was centered on the deleterious long-term effects that being sexually abused has on children.

As ADN notes, part of the presentation included economic data showing that an abused child "could cost the family and broader society $1.5 million in terms of trauma and what the child could potentially have earned over their lifetime."

It was based on this that Eastman started asking if society might save money if the child were to simply die instead of remaining alive to be a burden on society.

“It can be argued, periodically, that it’s actually a cost savings because that child is not going to need any of those government services that they might otherwise be entitled to receive and need based on growing up in this type of environment," he said.

Trevor Storrs, president and CEO of the Alaska Children’s Trust, was immediately taken aback by Eastman's remarks.

"Can you say that again?" he asked. "Did you say, ‘a benefit for society?’”

Storrs went on to explain that the death of a child is an "unmeasurable" loss to the family, regardless of what the government might save in terms of payments for services as a result.

I was very surprised with her appearances. I always thought what happened in the grand jury room was not spoken.

I still can’t believe they would allow these tapes to be released for these reasons. If just sounds so dangerous to allow someone to study these wether it’s those in our country or our adversaries. It just seems to likely that someone that wants to cause harm will get a hold of them. It seems like this will likely result in a more deadly event later. Foolish. So so foolish and if the average person can figure this out you know those with ill intentions are just chomping at the bit to get their hands on them. It just seems more likely to see a more successful insurrection next time. Smh 🤦‍♀️ that this could happen. I understand letting more footage out but avoiding footage that would be a security issue should be the main concern.
