I wonder about that woman who I guess was the lead person on the grand jury making the rounds on tv yapping away. I guess her 15 minutes of fame was more important than the work of the grand jury. According to CNN she is the foreperson of the grand jury. And her giving interviews is being frowned upon. In Georgia apparently grand jurors are not bound to secrecy. They are allowed to discuss all of it, even during deliberations... And yes she was the foreperson... MSNBC

Good riddance... A spokesman for Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) has announced that the governor will be "boycotting" NBC and MSNBC, over remarks that Andrea Mitchell made about his education policy during an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, according to The Daily Beast."'This will be the standard response from our office until @mitchellreports apologizes and your track record improves,' DeSantis' Press Secretary Bryan Griffin tweeted Wednesday, urging others to pass his message along," reported Matt Young. However, Young noted, this is unlikely to mean much in practice because "DeSantis has never been a regular on the NBC circuit." DeSantis' point of contention is a moment in the speech in which Mitchell asked Harris, “What does Governor Ron DeSantis not know about black history and the black experience when he says that slavery and the aftermath of slavery should not be taught to Florida schoolchildren?” DeSantis has not, strictly speaking, made it illegal to teach the history of slavery in Florida; rather, he rejected an Advanced Placement course in African-American Studies, a high school course that goes beyond standard Black history topics to discuss prominent Black thinkers, including queer and leftist figures, on a variety of other issues. *** "DeSantis accused unnamed evil forces of 'trying to act like somehow we don’t want books.' (Well, actually, he named one force of evil — 'the school unions' — while providing zero evidence that unions are behind the missing books. I’ve seen none either.)" wrote Joan Walsh. "'You hear people talk about felony charges' for having unauthorized books in classrooms, DeSantis scoffed. In fact, his own Department of Education confirmed to The Washington Post just weeks ago that educators who shared improper content could, yes, face felony charges." www.rawstory.com/ron-desantis-office-announces-boycott-of-nbc-after-andrea-mitchell-s-criticism-of-him/

TFG teams says they will accept the proud Boys subpoena.. Former President Donald Trump will reportedly accept a subpoena related to the Jan. 6 trial of members of the Proud Boys group. Four group members, including leader Enrique Tarrio, said they would subpoena Trump as part of their defense. They are accused of trying to overturn the 2020 election with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. Politico correspondent Kyle Cheney reported Tuesday that the Trump team had decided to accept Biggs' subpoena. "Norm Pattis, lawyer for Proud Boy Joe Biggs, says he expects the government to announce today that Donald TRUMP's attorney Evan Corcoran has agreed to accept service of the defense's subpoena," Cheney wrote. It was not immediately clear how Trump would participate in the Proud Boys' defense. www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-proud-boys-january-6/

Watching the Talking Heads news analysis last night, and they referred to TFG's White House Counsel, Pat Cipollone. Closed captioning called him "Patsy Baloney." Snicker.

Thanks anti-vaxxers... Kentucky health officials have warned people who attended a large "spiritual revival" to be on the lookout for any measles symptoms after an unvaccinated participant came down with the disease. Measles are re-emerging as a concerning health issue as anti-vaxxers have spread their message to cover other vaccines. Some religious groups also preach against vaccines. Measles can have serious complications, such as pneumonia and encephalitis. Nearly 250,000 kindergarten children are now vulnerable to the disease amid a drop off in vaccinations, according to a recent report by the Centers for Disease Control. *** The Kentucky Health Department is working with local agencies to boost the number of children who receive the combination measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccination. MMR vaccine coverage among Kentucky kindergarten children is among the lowest in the nation, according to CDC statistics.www.rawstory.com/measles-outbreak/

At least we won't have traitor Tulsi Gabbard. Why she left the Democratic party. Former Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard stunned a far-right Fox News host Friday night, falsely claiming President Joe Biden has chosen his cabinet members based solely on factors of "genetics" and "race" – while comparing Biden to Hitler. In a segment attacking President Biden's cabinet, as The Daily Beast reported, Gabbard, a Fox News contributor, suggested he was "proud" to be "hiring people, selecting people...based on genetics, race, based on your blood, your genes. And where do we see that connection? Well, these are the very same geneticist core principles embodied by Nazism and Adolf Hitler."*** Gabbard shared with Fox News host Jesse Watters her theory that "what we're seeing here is [Democrats'] philosophy, identity politics. And this is one of the main reasons why I left the Democratic Party because you seeing how their agenda of identity politics is directly undermining the traditional Democratic values that were expressed so beautifully and clearly, by Dr. Martin Luther King, that we should judge each other not based on the color of our skin, but based on our character." www.rawstory.com/tulsi-gabbard-says-president-joe-biden-s-cabinet-based-on-geneticist-principles-embodied-by-hitler/

He’s right. And of course the Republicans in Congress are betting their base will only read the headlines and believe the virus did escape from a lab. By doing that it will make the Republicans goal of coming after Dr, Fauci easier.

Mark Follman @markfollman · Follow The US government apparently still has no clarity as to how the pandemic originated, and news reporting should make that clear at the top. A big reason the US response was such a failure in the early going was because Covid was quickly politicized.
And that puts the blood on the hands of TFG, as far as I'm concerned. And I mean the human and economic suffering, both of which are ongoing.

Another misstated resume by a republican newly elected lawmaker.. A newly-elected Republican congressman has admitted to misrepresenting his college major during his congressional campaign, The Washington Post reported Monday. "Rep. Andrew Ogles (R-Tenn.), who is facing allegations of embellishing his résumé, acknowledged Monday that he misstated the degree he received from Middle Tennessee State University, claiming he learned of the discrepancy only last week after requesting an official copy of his transcript," the Post reports. *** "Ogles said he mistakenly stated that he received a degree in international relations. In a statement Monday, he said his degree was for liberal studies. That is a general education degree typically for those who cannot settle on a major." “At the time it was my understanding I had completed my course of study in Political Science and International Relations,” Ogles said. "At the time it was my understanding I had completed my course of study in Political Science and International Relations,” Ogles said. *** Earlier this month, a report found a number of discrepancies in Ogles' claims about his background. He has repeatedly described himself as an "economist" despite having no degree in economics and only having worked in an administrative position at a right-wing economic think tank. BUT I actually think he just chose qualified people and his entire cabinet isn’t a bunch of old, straight, rich, white men so people have their undies in a bunch over it. I can’t recall a single cabinet pick of Biden’s that isn’t qualified for the post. Perhaps Pete Buttegieg wasn’t specifically overly qualified for Transportation specifically but he is no less qualified than the previous person in that post. I have no qualms with the cabinet. Sometimes when people who have previously had advantages & privileges and they are now considered equally with many others they can’t feel begrudged about it. Get over it.

Really? Like you comb over every credit the last 2 years to be sure you have what you need for the degree/degrees you want? No? Isn’t this a normal thing? 35 years later I know exactly what my 2 degrees are and how to represent that on a resume. Who gets thru 4 or more years of education without knowing specifically what degrees they have? Or am I just a weirdo who over analyzed ever credit hour?
