This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

Welcome to April. I wish I could say it's nice Spring weather, but we are expecting another 3-4 inches of snow the first of the week. We are supposed to have nice weather on Sunday, but it all goes downhill from there.
I woke up this morning to find 6 deer in my backyard. They hung around for a couple of hours and then bounded away. Four of them were back later this afternoon. It's obvious that they are not finding much to eat in the foothills because of the inordinate amount of snow we are having.
I hope you all have your Scrapping Mojo going and can keep it going all month.
If you are new to Pokey Peas, come join in the chat and fun.

Thank you nylene. I'm sorry that March is going out like a lion for you. How cool to see the deer but a shame that they are hungry. I got my glasses back - yay! We had a lovely dinner with DS31 on Wednesday evening - made for a long day though. Not as long as today was for him though - they drove back to VA and left at 330 this morning. He said he was in South Carolina before he saw the sun rise (leaving from FL). I need to add up my points. Hoping to go to a Spring Festival in a nearby small town tomorrow. I got photos in the mail today from the last two weekends so hope to get those scrapped soon.

nylene a former coworker of mine when I lived on the east coast used to give the deer in his backyard cooked (plain) spaghetti! The pictures were hilarious. They loved it and brought more deer the next time.

Happy April, Pokeys! Did you get some photos of the deer, Nylene? Our dogs usually keep any wildlife well away from the house. Snow in April is not unusual for us up here, but it sounds like you are having unusually bad early spring weather. Are you worried about flooding when it all melts? Yay for dinner with your ds, Linda, and Yay for new glasses! A spring festival sounds like fun. Nothing like that around here. Dh is busy helping his nephew with cows calving and I am bumbling around here not sure what I will be doing today. I have a bit of a cold and my "get up and go" seems to have "got up and gone." I had thought I would sift through unscrapped photos to find some I can use for the Donna Challenge to scrap everyday little things, but have yet to do anything but drink coffee.

scrappyrabbit, I can imagine that deer would have fun with spaghetti. Steve really wanted to take feed out for our deer, but we are being told not to feed them or they will not return to the mtns. We don't even have any little sprigs of growth on anything yet this spring, so they are really hunting for food. They were gone this morning, but they may return. I did get photos of them, and Steve was able to get some good looks through his binoculars and by making my photos big on the computer. There has been a big herd of elk along a SLC freeway, causing multiple accidents. They have had to close the freeway while they drive them back into the mtns. They do feed deer and elk in the mountains when snow gets deep but when they roam into neighborhoods, they can be dangerous and cars are dangerous to them. BTW, how are you feeling? Linda, I'm so glad you got to have dinner with DS. So nice that you could get together, even for only the evening. I'm sorry for the long day for all of you. I'm glad you got your glasses back and that you can see again. Scrapping is much easier when you can SEE. grammadee, I'm sorry you are under the weather today. I hope you can rest up and get your health and mojo back. I read through the Team rules and wondered if you want to have the Pokey Peas only count for 1 pt for posting 4 layouts. It's totally up to you.

nylene when the drought gets bad here in CA, the deer come down to the neighborhoods looking for food as well. I've seen them munching on neighbors' roses before. I've been feeling really good! Linda glad you got your glasses and could visit with your son a little bit. That sounds like a long drive.

I slept in this morning. One of those days when I dreamed I woke up before I actually did--sort of like the Calvin & Hobbes cartoon strip. I was only going to select photos for a LO, but my ADHD took over, so I actually finished a two pager this morning. LOL You can leave the Pokey Peas points the way they are. It is only the quarter specific challenges that need to be kept to one point each.

grammadee - DH and I are both struggling with a vague "under the weather" feel ourselves - transient sore throat, cough, congested nose. Lots of my co-workers have *bad* colds, and I wonder if we're just fairly immune to it so our symptoms are less? Or is it allergies - the world is starting to "Spring" a bit around here. nylene, sorry about all that yucky snow! We still get 1-2" some nights which melts away mid-day, and there are some stubborn remnants in the shade. No buds yet, but the tulips are 2" out of the ground and the birds are singing. I feel sorry for them though and should put out some seed! Linda - yay for glasses. I got bifocal contacts a few weeks ago. I haven't worn contacts daily for about 20 years - my coworkers don't know me The contacts work...but it's not "crisp" either distance or close! Tradeoffs. Don't know why I'm bothering except every now and then you feel like changing things up, and this seemed like a distinct but easy change to try out. I'm going to head into my scrappy space after lunch - I have a single photo single page that I'm working on for my sketch example for April 15. Wanted to get it done. But I'm so early, I'll probably do another one as well... it will be sketchy saturday x 2! I also need to try out the new stamp press I bought - the altenew one - and give the peas a review!!!

Lots of people under the weather. That sucks. I hope you all feel better soon! Deer and spaghetti sounds interesting lol. nylene that stinks about the snow too. We have been swinging wildly from freezing to 60s all week. lol. Linda, that was quick on your glasses! I don't have a back up either. Yay that you had time with DS! kitbop I am finally getting used a bifocal lens in my glasses, bifocal contacts sounds like a struggle to me. I'm glad to be wrong! Not a lot going on around here, some cleaning, some tweaking of things in my space and then going to a poetry reading with DS2 and his GF. It's been very low-key and I've slept quite a lot. I'm just going with it lol. kitbop when do you leave for Disney?

No deer in the yard today but another big snow storm. We are on a Snow Warning that the snow will not stop until sometime Wed. There is only about 4-5 inches right now, but it just keeps coming. I wouldn't be surprised to see them close the schools tomorrow if this continues. Welcome to Spring in Utah! I have an appt to get my driver's license renewed tomorrow morning and thought I would run a bunch of errands. Maybe that's not such a good idea. I am out of mounting squares and can't scrap without them. (I know Linda will understand as she uses them too.) I may have to revert to tape runners, but prefer the squares. The sacrifices we have to make for scrapping! LOL I hope you are all doing OK this week.

wow - so much snow for you nylene. Doesn't sound like going out tomorrow would be a good idea. But being out of photo squares is an emergency - yikes. quiet day here today after a busy weekend - I'm not feeling quite 100%...didn't sleep well last night and just feel off a bit. Saturday we went to a Spring Festival in a small town about an hour away. It was a nice day out. There was an art gallery as well as an art show by their town artist in residence so we got to take that in also and DH ended up bringing home an art piece. We ate lunch at a local place - sadly we won't return as the service was less than steller and the food wasn't that good. DD didn't end up eating much of hers (a chicken wrap) and while I ate mine...a hamburger patty is an unusual sub for corned beef in a reuben. Sunday Dh and I worked on our closet - it's small especially for sharing and it had the upstairs A/C stuff in it which makes it smaller. It had the fuse box also but we had the electricians turn it around so it faces the hallway instead before we moved in. But that required taking down one of the shelves/rods. DH put that back up as well as tie rack for himself. He's going to replace one of his shelves/rods that fell but needs to repair the wall first (previous owners had apparently had difficulty putting the shelf up and there are a ton of holes that they covered with a poorly installed piece of wood that they then installed the shelf on.) But I pulled everything out and went through it, purged some stuff, rehomed some stuff, re-organised all of my stuff. Yay!

Happy Monday, Pokeys. I am not feeling ill, just kinda draggy again today. Like Linda, I didn't sleep well last night. I woke up thinking I should sneak in a nap this afternoon. Spent the morning doing tax stuff. Took a few minutes to play with stencils and inks, but nothing really to show for it yet. Hope the snowstorm holds off for you, nylene. You MUST get your adhesives! How can you have a snow day without those? Loved your Abby page, joyfulnana! Hoping that now you have rearranged your space that you will feel inspired to create.

This is the strangest snow storm. It has never stopped snowing since late last night and yet the snow on the grass, bushes, fences seems to stay at about 4 inches. The interesting thing is that it is not sticking to roads or sidewalks. You can't ask for a better snowstorm than that. As it gets colder tonight it may start to stick, but for now driving is no problem. Here are my Sheetload cards for this month. These were made with the scraps that were sitting on my table, leftovers from layouts last month. Zoo Animals Birthday Cards

grammadee - hopefully you had a better night's sleep last night. I need to do taxes still but DH is dragging his feet on getting all his paperwork for me. nylene - love the sheetload cards - so cute with the little critters! Hopefully the roads are decent for you today. I didn't get much done yesterday other than finishing a write-up on another ancestor and turning it into a simple scrapbook page (very simple - background, mat, journalling, and die cut corners). Today I need to catch up on housework and hopefully make Easter cards - I'm late getting those in the mail.

Waving hi and happy April. Where did March go? It was super windy last night and a little today but just glad the sun is out with clearer skies. Maybe the rain is taking a break. We had way more rain than usual here this year. nylene - Deers in your yard? Wow! Is this the first time? Maybe they heard how kind you are and came to hang out. 😀 linda The festival sounded fun. So glad you were able to get to it and enjoyed yourself. kitbop - I should look into those contacts. I used to where contacts, too ages ago and you like to where again. I get tired of my glasses sometimes. I didn't know they had bifocal contacts. I hope they work out for you. grammadee- Hope your "get up and go" returns soon.

Linda, I enjoyed reading about your ancestors. I'm glad you are doing those pages. Did you get your Easter cards finished. Mine didn't go out until today but are mostly local. Are you joining the online crop in the morning? grammadee, thanks so much for setting up a crop tomorrow. I have found some old photos while doing a deep dive into my shelves and need to get busy on them. Are you feeling more like yourself today. You have had so much going. I hope you can take it easier for a while. kellyr21, it has been several years since we had so much snow that it brought the deer down into the yard. We were telling our DS about the deer and he said little Swayzee wanted pictures. I texted a couple of photos and Swayzee begged DS to get her some baby deer in her yard. LOL. She thinks her grandpa can get her anything (and usually does!)LOL. He lives 30 min. north of us and he had to dig out 8 inches of snow in his driveway this morning. I can't believe how much rain Calif. has had this year. I'm sorry you had so much wind yesterday. I hope that stops. So many strange weather events this year! We have had snow all day but, again, it melts from the roads and somewhat from the sidewalks. I went to get my driver's license and found that the internet was down to all Utah government offices. I ran my errands (got my mounting squares, Linda) and returned to find that the internet was on and they had caught up with all the people waiting and I was in and out in 5 minutes. I went into Hobby Lobby and was disappointed to see how small they have made the paper crafting section. Soon all we will have is online. kitbop, when are you going to Disney? shinyhappytina, knutschen and joyfulnana, it looks like you are having tornado-type weather in your area tomorrow. Prayers for all of you! Keep in touch.

Hi kellyr21nylene - so glad you were able to get your mounting squares! Our HL has finished re-setting and the paper crafting section is so much smaller - vinyl and sublimation seem to have taken over. No - I haven't gotten my Easter cards out yet...I still need to make them. I am planning to crop tomorrow. Sweet story about Swayzee - might not be baby deer season just yet...even here, we don't usually see babies until July. Prayers for all facing severe weather - stay safe

Every Wednesday morning I feel the same the past few weeks: I want to come join in the crop! Have a great time ladies and I hope mojo is on your side today. kellyr21 - you know how we can take OFF our glasses and see really great details up close? I miss that with contacts. Even though I can read and see distance both, I can't do the up close detail thing. But it is REALLY nice to not have to reposition my glasses, clean them, or have them accidentally bumped off my face at work! nylene - fabulous sheetload - I envy your ability to work with scraps and arrange them on cards - I know it's a "pattern" but it takes me forever. Very much looking forward to tomorrow (off for a day), fish and chips for Friday (I do work, but I volunteered to offload a coworker so I feel good about it) and then the 3 days of time off. DD is away with friends so I won't have my full nest, but we'll still make it a celeration!

I miss going to my local scrapbook stories and having a great time. linda Waving hi to you too. kitbop Thanks for sharing. Hello Pokeys! Hoping you are all having a good Thursday. Glad your weather is improving, kellyr21. Has the snow ended for you, nylene? I am so jealous of your spring festivals, Linda. Enjoy your days off, kitbop. I see you have already been scrapping today. Are you wearing your contacts or gone back to glasses when at home? Bet you are excited about your trip. I see you dropped in a challenge about theme parks. I will prob be able to use that in June, as my ds & family are heading to Orlando again then. I am cleaning house today. Have most of this floor tidied, dusted & vacuumed, but I need to get a handle on this room! Don't want to turn it into a major operation but not sure of what I can do to get some handle on the mess in here after furious card making and tax info sorting... Dd & family are coming tomorrow mid day. And we were surprised to hear yesterday that our ds who lives in BC and works in SK plans to drive here from Saskatoon Friday evening for the weekend. I guess he gets just two days off instead of his regular 5 so he has decided not to fly home for the "short change". Okay, coffee break over, back to cleaning...

kitbop - enjoy your time off - and your fish and chips - yum! kellyr21 - glad you're seeing better weather grammadee - I cleaned house today too but now I'm sorting photos. We went on an epic road trip in 2017 - 16 days, 18 states, DC, and 1 Canadian province...including my sister's wedding - and I printed photos and sorted by day but not beyond that. So I grabbed a couple of empty albums and a bunch of page protectors and am working on sorting into layouts to do. It's....quite the project. But it's unlikely to get scrapped sitting in 16 or 17 photo envelopes.

Not tackling scrapping it until after I finish my Williamsburg trip and I think it'll get scrapped slowly, a little at a time but progress.

Good Morning Ladies! I hope everyone is feeling better! I started a cleaning party a couple of weeks ago with the big re-arrange lol. I've lost the steam to finish. Linda what a project! It sounds like you have made a good starting point with it when you are ready. kitbop enjoy your time off! nylene I hope you get some real spring weather soon. Swayze is adorable and what a precious story. I relate to her grandpa. Rudy asked to sleep over tonight, and I hesitated because I didn't have sleepover supplies snacks, and he said "you said you never tell me no" I did say that once when he was like 5 or 6. He asked for something I said "do I ever say no to you?" And well, that means we are a sleep over tonight lol. I know these times won't last forever so i want to snap them all up. Even though it's exhausting lol. I seem to have lost all sense of time this year, I had totally forgotten it was Easter weekend and I have zero plans for a dinner, or anything. It will be a chaotic, regular weekend here lol. I haven't scrapped at all this week, and I have a goal to be true pokey that scraps at least one layout a week. Which means I need to get busy lol. I hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!

Hello everyone! I am at my mom’s for the weekend. I took Thursday off because Dean and some of his fellow volunteer firefighters were presented with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medals in Saskatoon. He caught a ride home and I headed here on my own. My sister and brother and his family are coming later today.
I have a question. I have about a dozen layouts and cards from the last six weeks that I uploaded to Flickr but forgot to share. Do you think I should still share them all to the gallery or just pick up with my latest pages?

Ugh, I wish everyone would stop talking about cleaning My house is desperately in need of a season flip (boots and coats and clothes) and deep clean. We have a friend house-sitting for us while we're gone, and I need to wash floors and table legs and that type of thing beforehand. I've had it in mind to start for a couple of weeks, but am procrastinating. I *wish* I was one of those people who cleans for fun! I have a couple of co-workers whose eyes light up when they talk about having a day off to clean. I'm like...whaaaaaaaaa? I want to play! Play a game, go for a hike, bake something, go somewhere, or scrapbook! Anything but clean. justjac - congrats to Dean! I hope you had a good mini trip and have fun with your family. I would still post your projects - although now I know to go look through your page - but the sharing thread is usually how I find things! joyfulnana - that's so nice that Rudy wants to sleep over even without "sleepover supplies". You could always take him to a fast food joint - I don't know many kids who don't think that is a "treat"! I also do not have Easter planned this year. The kids are too big for loot (last year they did all ask for a scavenger hunt, but I'm putting my foot down this year. They're too old!) and I will decide what we're eating tomorrow when I go to the store! Linda - that sounds like it was an epic road trip and will be fun to scrap. I hear you about the photos hiding/being forgotten in their envelopes! grammadee - still in contacts - but - my glasses are clearer/easier. I'm torn. The pros/cons are equal. Have fun with your family over Easter!
