kitbop- hope you're having a fabulous time! kellyr21 - waving hi! nylene - ((((Hugs))) what a pain! And new remotes that your dh can't see is the icing on the cake. I hope he can memorise them easily also. grammadee - I'm glad you had some family help. Sounds like the grad albums are coming along nicely scrappyrabbit - so exciting to be getting ready for the baby - baby clothes are so tiny and sweet! It's not yet 9 here and it's already been a Monday! Woke up with low blood sugar and while I've treated, I still feel a bit off. Got a call from DD16 - for the SECOND time in less than two weeks, her school bus got in a wreck. Last time it was a fender bender where it rear ended a car. This time it hit a set of community mailboxes and basically destroyed them. Thankfully no one has been hurt but yikes.

Oh Linda, I hope your Tuesday is going better than your Monday! We have had a busy few days and still continuing this morning. Yesterday dh & dsil went to pick up meat while I defrosted the freezer. Then when they got home all the new meat needed to go in, followed by the other contents. This morning I have a hair appointment followed by lunch in town with dgs and dsil before they head back home. Before my appointment I need to pack up a few things for them to take back with them. See you on the flip side!

Thanks grammadee - no bus this morning - Dh picked her up from the bus stop on his way to work - nearly an hour after she left the house and took her to school. Now maybe that means that the driver won't be driving any longer and they just don't have a replacement... She doesn't ride it home most days due to afterschool activities so we'll have to see what happens tomorrow morning. I do know she was planning to refuse to get on if the same driver was driving today (and dh had agreed to drive her if that happened)

scrappyrabbit, putting together baby furniture and getting the room ready sounds like great fun. I hope you get everything done before delivery. What a wonderful time in your lives. Linda, I an shocked at the bus accidents. That is really worrisome. I'm glad your DH picked her up this morning. Surely they won't allow that same driver to continue driving?! grammadee, what a lot of work to get all the meat put away after totally cleaning the basement! Do you have to wrap and label it or do they do that at the butcher? I hope you have a great lunch with your family before they return home. kitbop, I hope you are having a wonderful time. The Comcast tech was here yesterday and was very nice and apologized for all the problems. He spent a lot of time teaching DH the remote, even saying "feel this, this button is a different shape", etc. Very helpful. He gave us his cell # in case we run into any problems. We hope we don't have to contact him. Now I need to get back in gear and earn some points for our team. I worked on a layout this morning and hope to get it finished. Have a great rest of this week, everyone.

nylene - dd says the driver was fired - I certainly hope so. And apparently the temporary replacement driver is running the route in reverse so instead of being one of the first stops at 704, DD will be near the end at 758. I suspect that change was announced on the afternoon bus yesterday but DD stayed after and didn't ride. But one of her friends filled her in at school. I'm so glad that the Comcast tech was nice and helpful. Hopefully this is the end of the tech issues for you. grammadee - what a busy time you've had lately. I'm sure all the freezer stuff on top of the basement woes was exhausting. I'm hoping the meat comes wrapped and labelled for you. DH and I are taking the afternoon together tomorrow and heading into the city for a library book sale

Income tax info has been submitted. Family has gone home. My hair has been cut. The last of the grad pages have been picked up and are ready for sorting. But tomorrow I want to play rather than work. I need to finish at least one page as a sample for this upcoming Saturday's sketch, but hoping to finish about four during the on line crop. Hoping there will be some people joining me... Yes, Linda, the meat comes cut and wrapped from the butcher. Dh's nephew gives us an animal each spring for the help he gets all year, and he takes it to the butcher for slaughter and processing. We pay the butcher's cost, and order the cuts we want and the size of the packaging. But this was one of the biggest animals we have taken, so took up alot of freezer space.

I woke up at 3:30 this morning with a headache from clenching my teeth during a stress dream about being on the Great British Sewing Bee. I got back to sleep, but the headache was still hanging around in the morning, so I stayed home from work. Some sleep and Tylenol fixed me up. I sewed this afternoon and finished my cape!

Hey Hey Pokey’s! grammadee I’m so sorry about your basement! Ugh I can only imagine. At least you had some help to clean up! (and no rugs were involved in it! lol) Man, you’ve got a lot going on right now, with the meat and hair appointment on top of the basement. Abby loves canned tuna. As soon as the seal breaks on the can, she’s right there at attention licking her lips LOL! I rarely eat tuna, but she gets a tiny bite once in a blue moon lol. I wonder all the time how she got so fat. Too much tuna and other people food I’m sure She’s really slimmed down since I got her. She’s gone from obese to what I call a manly “barrel belly” lol. I wish I could remember what the full story was of the angry reading. He got mad at me for something and stomped right off lol. I wish I had jotted down notes once in a while. But life moves sooo fast! nylene vent away! I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t mind. There has to be a place to get things out. Technology frustrates me to no end and I would be feeling the same way. Poor Steve, I hate this for you two, I can’t imagine much easier it was when he could at least run the TV without help. ((((hugs)))) to you both. Your pages are so beautiful! scrappyrabbit, how fun getting the nursery ready and drooling over all the TINY clothes, that will probably be way too big for newborn baby scrappyrabbit! Wow justjac! The cape turned out beautifully! That was a crazy stress dream though! I had to google if the Great British Sewing Bee was a real show lol. I’ve never watched any of the reality cooking, or fashion type shows. I have watched a few episodes of Is It Cake though lol. Oh wow Linda that’s awful about the accidents! It instantly made me think of my mom right before she gave up her license. After plowing down 6 or 7 mailboxes on one street, just a few weeks after a fender bender in a parking lot, that was her fault. I’m glad they’ve fired that driver! I hope you are feeling better yourself today as well. kellyr21 how are you? I noticed some classes on the Michaels website that looked interesting, but it looked like they are live and there’s no replay. Not that I need any more classes. I’ve still got most of the ones I paid for to do LOL! Are you going to give the sewing a go? Any idea what you might want to make first? Every time I look at my machine it glares at me and I feel guilty for not using it lol. kitbop I hope you’re having a blast! It’s Disney so how could you not lol. gramma, you’ve been heavy on my mind this week, I hope you and Ken are doing okay and you’ll be able to check in. I was thinking of opening a crop Saturday night if anyone is interested. It could even be an afternoon crop if that works better. Right now, my Saturday is pretty free.

grammadee - I'm glad that it's all prepped and ready for the freezer for you! Yay on finishing up the taxes. Have fun at the online crop today - sorry I'll miss it. justjac - woohoo! It looks great! And having made a lined cape last year for DD - I know how much sewing that was! Thanks joyfulnana - I feel badly that the driver lost their job but I'm so relieved that they are no longer driving a school bus. Dusty loves tuna also and is so disappointed when the can opener comes out and it's not tuna. The other kitties don't care for it. Saturday night crop might work for me. DD is going with some friends to the JROTC military ball that evening so it's quite likely dh and I will be in our respective hobby rooms gramma - thinking about you as well. ((((Hugs))) Has anyone heard from MARIBETHR? seems it's been an awful long time since we've heard from her and I hope all is okay.

The cape looks awesome, justjac. That is a LOT of sewing! Congrats on finishing it--and with more than two weeks to go before show time! I always wonder about the feline love of fish, joyfulnana and Linda, when they HATE water. Before Charlie, we had an elusive garage cat, Dart. He seldom showed his face to humans--unless they had a can of cat food. Then he was right there.

grammadee - they don't all hate water either - I've had several over the years who have enjoyed standing in the bathtub during showers. Currently 2 of ours like showers where they get a little wet but not soaked (Pad-Bear and Dusty) and 1 of the others likes getting a bath. They all have their own purrsonalities and likes/dislikes - Dusty hates turkey, absolutely won't touch turkey flavoured cat food and isn't keen on chicken either. Salmon is his favourite but tuna is good too. He's the only one of the current batch who likes canned tuna and none of them like the turkey inards that I used to cook up as Thanksgiving for kitties - Little Friend was the last one we had who liked that. We have to buy two types of treats because Pad-Bear doesn't like the treats we give the rest of them but insists on having a treat. I've had ones in the past that had no interest in cat treats at all.

Linda, I am sorry that the driver lost a job, but glad someone else will be driving the kids. I have tried my contact with MARIBETHR but haven't heard back. I will send a card today. I am hoping she is just very busy. grammadee, I'm glad your meat was wrapped and labeled. We used to have our deer cut up but we divided and wrapped it ourselves. We did cut it up one year on our little tiny apt. table and decided it was worth the charge for cutting. LOL. The pig and cow we shared with friends always came wrapped and labeled, which was so nice. I'm sorry I missed your crop this a.m. Em's fridge went out and I was helping her save food and taking a friend to PT. I hope you got all your layouts finished. joyfulnana, I'm glad you have figured out Abby's likes and dislikes. She's a lucky cat to belong to you. I won't be around Sat night. It's our first grandson, first great-grandson and Steve's birthdays Thurs. so Tori is hosting a BBQ for the three of them. I will just have to scrap alone this week, I guess. I love being online with others and I accomplish more than I would think. justjac, your cape turned out beautifully. That's a lot of fabric to work with at once. I'm glad you finished it and that your stress was just a dream! Two weeks to the production. Are you ready? Sending hugs and waves to all the Pokeys. Have a great day, everyone.

A quick update - Last Monday morning about 5AM a neighbor pounded on the front door and opened it calling for me. Ken had "gone out for a walk" and fallen in the street. When the EMTs got here they scooped him and were gone with him in less than 5 minutes. X-rays and such showed no concussion, no brain bleed (yikes!), no fractures to his neck, no broken elbow. They did not discharge him until yesterday afternoon - 9 days. He was having the dizzies again. They had him on continuous blood pressure monitoring and guess what? He has low blood pressure. What happens when you have low blood pressure? You are DIZZY!!!! They spent several days getting that sorted. I did not know that there is medication for low blood pressure.
He is back home for now but we are looking for a memory care placement for him. It's just more that I can handle even if I don't work. My kids and grandkids are missing hours of work in helping support him. 7 of the 9 days he was in the hospital a family member was with him 24 - 7. My head know what needs to be done, but my heart is breaking.
Thank you all for your concern for me and my guy

oh gramma - my heart hurts for you. I'm glad he's not hurt too badly but I know that had to be so scary! Thank goodness for your neighbour. I think you're wise to look for placement - it'll give you the opportunity to just be his wife and not also his caregiver but it's such a hard decision to make. ((((Hugs))) and prayers

Oh, my dear sweet friend, gramma ! I am so sorry about Ken. I'm glad someone found him before he was hurt worse. You have good neighbors. My heart hurts for the decisions you are making now. I know how hard it is, but you know it needs to be done and will be the best for all concerned. I'm glad you have family around to support you both. Wish I could give you a big hug. You are the one really suffering now and you are in our family prayers. Steve sends his love and hugs too. I wish we lived closer. Please keep in touch and you can unload stress here anytime. Hugs!

It could have been so much worse. He had 5 staples in his head. But where he was laying was at the foot of a neighbor's driveway - it was dark - if they had backed out they likely would not have seen him - - -

I won't be able to make it at noon. My daughter is taking me to look for flooring and backsplash for the new house. I should be able to join in around 4 PM our time if you are still going.
Or tomorrow you could babysit me through the Kings' playoff game.
