Happy Easter to those celebrating! We coloured eggs tonight - I'm glad DD16 still enjoys that. Then I made my carrot-shaped cheese ball for tomorrow. Carrots are orange right? Yeah, some idiot forgot to take that into account when buying WHITE cheddar. So my carrot will look more like a parsnip. Pinterest Fail! lol joyfulnana - enjoy your sleepover kitbop - I like organising but cleaning? not so much.

Happy Easter to those who are celebrating! kitbop you just made me feel so much better about *not* doing Easter things for the adult kids lol. And I hear you about days off! Even on the weekends - every weekend, I don't want to clean, I want to play and my apartment shows it lol Linda pinterest fails are the BEST sometimes lol. I'll bet your carrot/parsnip cheese ball looks yummy and tastes just as yummy! I'm going to get into my scrap space later today. That is non-negotiable. I've been in there, putting away and straightening up. I have found I'm super good at getting an idea, pulling everything out into a pile during the work day, then never starting. I had such a pile of good intentions that are now put away and listed lol. justjac, it's up to you, but I would love to see what you've done. I've really been loving seeing the smaller format you've been working in. I'm pretty sure I have several on flikr I never got around to sharing either. I hope everyone is having an awesome day!

Happy Easter everyone! We had a very low key day: a nice long walk, a family (plus one) dinner of lamb, and some sorting/organizing that included de-booting the front hall, and packing away winter coats, gloves and hats. I'm trying to scrap now, but I feel like I'm struggling tonight. I have traditionally watched a movie or a youtube video while I scrap, but I'm finding it's too distracting - I can't divide my attention like I used to - I cannot get the "gist" of what I'm watching if I'm even cutting a mat around a photo. Maybe I should try music instead? Maybe my brain is just overwhelmed and needs more quiet/focus.

my Easter appetisers Quiet day here also. We went to Mass this morning and then out for brunch at IHOP. Home for an Easter egg hunt around the house for DD16. We had a roast lamb dinner - just the three of us. And I got to chat on the phone with my big kids...

The kids are too big for loot (last year they did all ask for a scavenger hunt, but I'm putting my foot down this year. They're too old!) I missed this earlier - we decided years ago when I had my youngest that once they turn 18 - that was the cut-off for being a kid holiday-wise. That way even with our big age gaps, everyone got Easter Bunny, Santa, the Birthday Fairy for the same number of years. I realised while setting up DD's basket last night that her next Birthday, Christmas, and Easter will be the last one for our kid holiday traditions. That's going to be strange for me...

Happy Monday! Waving hi to everyone! It's been sunny and warmer here. So we got out over the weekend and played tennis for the first time in a LONG time. LOL! Not sure if we will stick with it but we did have fun. I've heard so much about pickle ball and that is supposed to be more gentle on the body. I think I will consider it since my dh and I aren't as athletic as we used to be. linda- WOW! What a great job you did on your appetizers! They look wonderful especially the bunny. WOW!

Happy new week, Pokeys. Hope you are all recovering from holiday excitement. The last of family left late this afternoon and I will need a good sleep tonight and maybe a nap tomorrow. Even with your "simpler" holiday plans, you will probably be exhausted, too, nylene. Linda, I love your Easter appetizers! So cute! Our veggie tray was purchased from the grocery store. Dd & family coloured eggs on Saturday, and there was a hunt for treats yesterday morning. I think that if your crew wants an Egg Hunt, kitbop, they should each hide for the others--maybe each take a different section of the house to hide stuff in. So sweet that Rudy still wants to have sleepovers with you, joyfulnana. The relationship with grandkids is so precious. They take alot of energy, but in some ways they help you feel younger just being with them. I see you have uploaded some pages to the Gallery, justjac. I love seeing your pages and cards and will go take a closer look tomorrow. Dgs made a couple of birthday cards this morning and I have started one and have an idea for another one to be sent out tomorrow. After that I hope to be able to get back into putting some pages together. Okay... Off to bed with me...

Hello, Pokeys! I'm glad you have all had a nice Easter celebration. Linda , your appetizer trays are wonderful! Is that the "parsnip" cheeseball. It looks like it turned out great. We didn't have family here but talked on the phone with kids and extended family members. The last minute I decided to make a ham even though it was going to be just the 2 of us. Now we have lots of leftovers. I had a fall in my scrapbook room Sat.night. I don't even know what happened but I was suddenly falling and managed to knock over all the little drawers holding sequins, jewels and other small items. I felt like the lady who whines "I have fallen and can't get up". I cannot kneel even for a few seconds. It's like kneeling on tacks. I had my cell phone in my pocket so called Steve in the family room to come bring me one of my big, huge, soft decorative pillows on our bed. That is the only way I can stand to kneel for even a few seconds, long enough to get my feet under me. That worked, but I am pretty bruised and stiff. This seems to happen too often. I need to be more careful. It usually occurs when I step backward and lose my balance or when I am hurrying. kitbop , I wish I loved cleaning too, but I don't! I had a neighbor who just loved cleaning and reorganizing. When I reorganize it takes me forever to find things. kellyr21 , there seems to be a lot of pickle ball going on around here. 2 of my sisters enjoy playing with their kids and grands. I hope you find it fun and good exercise. I'll be back to chat later. I'm helping DH is the shop for a while.

Hugs to you nylene! I went through 3-4 months where my knees hurt like that if I dared kneel - it's blindingly painful and there is no way I could put enough pressure on it to stand up - so I sympathize. I can only imagine the mess of sparkly bits all over your room too! I hope your aches and pains feel better quickly, and yes, please be careful!!!

Oh nylene, I hope you recover quickly from your fall. I have a terrible time getting up from the floor unless I have a chair or something to help pull myself up. In the garden, if I need to kneel, I keep a hoe within arm's reach so I can use it for support.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I am feeling much better and less stiff each day. I haven't been able to kneel for about 20 years, so that was not a new injury. Eventually I will need to give in and have knee replacements but as long as I can walk without pain, I hate to do it and maybe end up with more pain. I was determined to do some scrapping today since it's Double Dip Day for points. We spent too long in the eye doctor's office so I didn't have as much time as I planned. They are stretching Steve's Macular shots out to 3 months now. Today he said the big E was very blurry and that's all he could see. I just hate watching as his sight gets worse. Tonight I am trying to finish a couple of layouts and hope to have scrappy time again tomorrow. joyfulnana, is this a Rudy weekend? How is your DS doing? Waving to all our Pokeys! It's always so nice to see all your avatars popping up on this thread. I love this little thread on this site.

My dh is a frequent flyer at the eye doctor also and I'm praying he doesn't lose any more vision AND that he can get scheduled for his cataract surgery soon. I got the taxes done today - the online software has gotten so expensive. I miss the days when I could get the forms at the post office or library, fill them out, and mail them in. Although e-filing is faster.

Hi Pokey's! Happy Friday! nylene, I hope you are doing ok! That's scary! I am also one who doesn't kneel often, but mostly I can't squat too deeply anymore because of my knees. I know I'm late, but Linda your Easter appetizers look amazing! How cute! And tasty lol. I know you are further inland, were you affected by all the rain that Florida was flooded with? Has Spring come to Utah and Canada yet? It's been near 80 here this week so the A/C is being kicked on already for a few days. kellyr21 let us know if you check out pickleball! I know it's all the rage right now and I also know nothing about it. The landlord took out the pool and filled it in here and said he was thinking of a pickleball court. It may go over well, since my complex is mainly adults, ( many er, *older* adults cough cough) and not many families. No Rudy this weekend, but the usual errands and cleaning that never seems finished. I was thinking about opening a crop this weekend if anyone would be interested. I soooo wish I could join in on the Wednesday day time crops grammadeeDS is doing pretty well. He's still clean, but struggling on the job front. I also think he and GF are growing apart, and they know it, but aren't ready to let go fully yet. DS the dad is doing alright too. He just chugs along lol. I have tasked myself with thoroughly learning the rules to the Pokemon Academy board game. Rudy and I like to play, but he has to teach me again every time we play lol. gramma, how are you and Ken doing? welp, off to get ready for work. I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Happy Friday, Pokeys! (((((HUGS))))) to you and dh, nylene , as you face the loss of his eyesight. So frustrating, especially since he, too, is a crafts person, but even without that. So much of our world comes in through our eyes. You and your hubby should definitely take up pickleball, kellyr21. From what I have heard it can be lots of fun. Not for a clumsy person like me, but... Here's to a restful rejuvenating weekend for the working clan. I have no one here this weekend, either, joyfulnana , so I should be able to at least pop in for a crop if you set one up. I am still in a scrapping slump. Have the time to put together a page or two this morning before heading into town, but no mojo to get a LO started. When I am firing on all cylinders, I wake up full of scrappy ideas and energy. But lately, not so much. Picking up my SCT Crop & Create box today (virtual event is last weekend in April), and printing photos on Tuesday, so maybe that will get me going again. Too bad that will be after the Double Points Weekend... Will prob get most of my points this weekend from organizing. Yesterday I stowed away the card kits from the SCT cardmaking event to make room for the papercrafting stuff. And I hope to pick up more of the copies for dgd's scrapbook today, so that will mean putting the copies and order and the originals back into their albums. The 2022-23 Winter album is already overstuffed and there are more hockey pages to create, so I need to pull out all the Christmas pages and put them into their own book. If this hobby is going to feel like work right now, I may as well set the fun stuff aside for later and get some of its actual work done. Okay. Gotta go. Two phone calls and a question from dh and I have no idea if this post even makes sense LOL. Anyway, Happy Friday!

Good morning Pokies! joyfulnana - glad your guys are mostly doing well. Good luck with the Pokeman Academy game! Thank you - I had fun with the appetisers. I'm further north than the flooding -we've had a rainy week but not nearly that much rain thankfully. Weekend crop - I'm a maybe - if I'm home and everyone else is out or busy, I'll jump on. Definitely planning to scrap but it'll be around my other obligations. DD16 is mountain biking with her troop tomorrow and I have a video chat with a friend on Sunday. grammadee - hopefully the organising will help your mojo return! I've just spent two hours working in my scrap space...I lost a small sheep sticker earlier this month that I remember pulling out and setting aside for an upcoming page and last night I couldn't find my squirrel stickers that I KNEW I had just seen only days ago. I've found the squirrels - it's possible the sheep got tossed by accident...it was small. I have one more area to dig through and check and then a few household chores and then scrapping.

Eventually I will need to give in and have knee replacements but as long as I can walk without pain, I hate to do it and maybe end up with more pain. I work with knee replacements each and every day so if you want any info I'm your gal! I know young ones, old ones, good ones and bad ones. And something a knee replacement (henceforth referred to as TKR, total knee replacement) does NOT let you do is kneel. It will not fix that problem. It also won't let you squat. It will only fix knee alignment, buckling, or pain. To go through a TKR I would suggest one or more is the "problem: your knee LIMITS your activity tolerance significantly; you can't go up/down stairs well; your knees ache and keep you up at night; your knee buckles and or is unreliable. BUT - if you need a TKR and do your exercises, I can tell you that it WILL improve pain, very few people end up worse off than before. I had an "eye" day too. I am trying different contacts - the bifocal ones didn't give me good clarity of EITHER distance or near vision, so I think I should pick distance and rely on reading glasses? I've never had readers before. But with these distance contacts in my eyes, I need them. At least I'm still 20/20 with glasses. I dread losing vision and sympathize terribly with people who are losing theirs. Linda - I have to get my taxes done this week too, but in Canada we can still file online for free. I always give the software company money when I'm done - but it's actually voluntary! Aggravating that you have to pay. joyfulnana - hi! We're at 80 today here and the buds are on the trees and there are some daffodils around. Considering that we had snow on the ground a week ago...this is pretty remarkable. Actually, it feels like we've skipped Spring entirely! Glad your boys are holding their own right now. I think pickleball would be tons of fun. DH and I play tennis, so pickleball might be in our looming slower future given DHs injuries and my tweaky joints! Yes, please DO open a crop tomorrow! I have lots of prep to do for travel, family birthdays, a road trip on Sunday, and I'll need a reason to stop and focus on myself. I took today off work last minute (which in hospital speak means I asked on Monday to ensure coverage was available. If I needed a day off truly last minute I would have to call in sick ) I kinda left my coworkers with a bad day brewing, and was feeling guilty, but then I woke up with a corker of a headache and was VERY glad I had booked the day off! Headache is better now, and I'm getting stuff done like all this important posting on 2 peas grammadee - your beautiful layouts in the gallery do NOT suggest a slump?? Maybe your definition of slump is different than mine. If I product a layout a week, I'm pretty happy. And thanks for the reminder about double points this weekend - I had completely forgotten. Watch for my sketchy saturday tomorrow! Hint: I'm using the sketch from scrapbook&cards today here - have you seen that Allison Davis is now doing them? Its AWESOME with a ton of inspiration and options so I want to draw it to every pea's attention! Linda - I HATE it when I lose a product like that! You spend so much time searching, it feels a waste. Hope sheepie turns up! OK, back to chores.

I have tasked myself with thoroughly learning the rules to the Pokemon Academy board game. Rudy and I like to play, but he has to teach me again every time we play lol. joyfulnana , this made me laugh. Every time the CA kids come they try to teach me a new game or play one I learned the year before and I get so lost. They are older and their games are complicated. They laugh and help me though. Glad to know your DS is doing well. I hope he can stay strong. A break-up can be so hard on everyone. Hang in there, mama, you are a good support for both your sons...and Rudy. grammadee , your organizing sounds like a great way to earn points while not in a layout-scrappy mood. I have loved all the projects you have posted with your new "pretties". I hope the mojo returns and you have a relaxing weekend. Linda , I'm so glad to know that you are not in the middle of all the flooding. I know it will happen here before Spring is over. We went from a nice warm day Tuesday to snow again yesterday. Not much, but enough to drop the temp by 32 degrees in a 24 hr period. It was warm enough to melt a lot of lower snow and there was lots of flooding north of us. I hope you find your Lost Sheep. gramma , I have been thinking about you lately, wondering how you and Ken are doing? How are the house plans going? and retirement? knutschen , I hope things are moving along smoothly for you. Drop in when you get a moment. kellyr21 , where would you be going to play pickleball? I'll bet you would enjoy it. Any scrappy or art projects in your near future? kitbop , I'm glad to know you don't scrap in chronological order. Your scrapping is so cohesive and artistic and it's probably because you scrap what touches your fancy that day. I do that to eliminate my guilt of "being behind" and to allow me to just play. I wish you could join us on the Wed. online crops. It has been very productive for me. Funny how work gets in the way, huh? I hope to get some things posted today and get some layouts started. I have spent 90 min on the phone with Comcast trying to get the signal to the TV fixed. I doesn't add to my scrappy points, but it adds to my blood pressure!! I'm off to clean up all the cords and stuff I had to pull out. The dust really hides behind appliances. ETA: We were posting at the same time, kitbop . I hope your headache goes away so you can accomplish your goals for today. Thanks for the TKR advice. I have to 2 step stairs, but have been doing that for over 10 years. Walking doesn't hurt. It does lock up sometimes and that hurts, but I have only had it collapse on me once.

nylene I hope your knees are feeling better and you are ok! Knee pain is such a bummer. I had ACL surgery when I was a teen, and my brother just had it done in the fall. It’s not the same as a knee replacement, but I know the pain! I got a layout (my last wedding layout, hurrah!) finished but I want to photograph it when the lighting is brighter. Tomorrow I’m spending time with my cousin and her kids, so hopefully by Sunday I’ll have time to scrap again to maximize double point weekend! Enjoy your road trip kitbop

joyfulnana - hoping you will open a crop today! Do you have an idea what time? Should we post it on the main board? I am going to watch a bit of dance competition at 4:00 and at 6:30. The theatre is only 10 minutes from my house and the dance is literally 3 minutes, so I will be home in between the sets. If you don't open one, I will open one after 7pm EST when I get home. I could open one at 5pm EST, but then I'd have to pop out at 6... if we were both there, we could co-host so that we weren't as glued to our chairs. Maybe gramma will join and be a co-Claudia?

Good Morning! nylene , I'm so sorry about Steve's eyesight. I can't begin to imagine how hard that is for both of you. ((((hugs))). Yes, Rudy has to go over the rules with me again every time, and I have to remind him to be patient with me lol. Linda Were you able to find the sheep? I get amazed at how quickly something I JUST saw, can disappear. In the case of a sticker like that, I would probably find it coming out of the laundry 3 weeks later somehow lol. kitbop that is so interesting about TKR. I, like lots of people I'm sure, thought a new knew meant new range of motion, and new everything lol Hmmm, I think I can stop thinking I need one then lol. Although I have been practicing yoga nearly everyday since late last year, and it is making a difference in all my joints. scrappyrabbit congrats on getting all the wedding layouts finished! You had a lot of weddings going on for awhile! Gah, I feel like I've left every single chore/thing to do until today lol. Groceries and housework, and Cody and I started a series on Netflix called Sandman - and omg it's soooo good we have been sneaking episodes in on the weekends he doesn't have Rudy lol. We typically only watch a show together on Monday night lol. So we are doing that this morning at some point as well lol. I also need to make time to knit. I'm only through the first set of three stripes on the one for myself. lol. I'm going to go check out some awesome work in the sharing thread and hope to have something to share myself for double points. I'll be opening the crop at 4PM EST, I hope to see some of you, I've been missing my crop time and the company.

joyfulnana we had 6 weddings last year, and a majority of them included rehearsal dinners, etc. It was A LOT! But fun! This year we only have one wedding but we are gonna skip it due to the timing/location (I’ll be in my third tri and don’t want to travel). But I’ll be attending her bridal shower. Next year may shape up to be another heavy wedding year… bring it on! I’m happy I can move on to scrapping other things now. I want to finish my 2022 album asap so I can pack up my scrappy office and make room for baby!

Happy Saturday, Pokeys! Congrats on getting all those wedding pages done, scrappyrabbit. I am always happy to move on away from a theme I have been scrapping for awhile... Did you ever find your sheep, Linda? When my scrappy supplies play hide n seek, I have to stop looking for that specific item and either walk away or start looking for something else. Have to treat them kinda in the same way Winnie the Pooh treats bees on his search for honey. kitbop and joyfulnana, I hope to drop into your crop today, but probably just to chat. I put a page together this morning, but now I need to get back into sort mode with the pages for the girls' grad scrapbooks. I do that by spreading stuff all over the bed, so no real way to set up the ipad there. scrappyrabbit, I hope you and nylene and/or gramma can scrap along--somebody from our team needs to lap up those DOUBLE DOUBLE points!

Hello everyone - I'm just home now after a long day (left the house at 7am -got back at 7pm). We dropped DD16 off with her Girl Scout troop for mountain biking (trail riding)at 8 in the city (they then carpooled another hour south) and then drove another hour west to a small rural airport that was hosting a fly-in, car show, and booths. Spend several hours there and then the hour drive back to the city - ran some errands - found a replacement sheep sticker at M's...no sheep at Joanns - had lunch at a very pretty Mexican restaurant, picked up DD, and went to Sam's Club before heading home. scrappyrabbit - yay for finishing up wedding layouts - you've had a ton and they've all been lovely Not sure I'll be able to drop in on the crop - maybe if there's one tomorrow I will.

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a nice weekend. We went to the tennis courts again and had fun. We saw they have a Pickle Ball set up, too. I did watch a couple of videos on how it is played so we might consider it down the road. Just like do I want to buy more equipment when we just started using the tennis stuff we have? I hope to get into some of my crafts this week. Did a little art last week just for fun. Today, I am watching Vicki Boutin's class on paint techniques on Scrapbook dot com. I am enjoying it and learned a few new ideas. linda-I am glad you had a wonderful time at the airport event and the Mexican lunch. Do you live out in a rural area or suburbs? grammadee- How is your mojo these days? Mine comes and goes but I hope this is a better week of crafting for me. nylene- My prayers are with you both!!! SO sorry to hear about your fall but I am glad you are feeling better. Take it easy my friend! justjac- I am glad you shared your various creations with us in the gallery. I like seeing your glammed up pictures, too. I can't wait to get my hair trimmed and nails done. kitbop- I wish they can figure out how we can wear contacts only and still not need some sort of glasses. That does sound like a hassle but I hope it works for you. joyfulnana- Waving hi to you and Abby! Having a Pickle Ball court at your apt sounds fun. This sport seems to be so popular it might get busy there for a while. Do you think you would try it? When I watched the videos it seems like a lot of rules. I just want to go out there and play around then maybe I will learn the rules. LOL!

joyfulnana, I'm sorry I missed your online crop on Sat. We had a Bridal Shower for DGS's fiancé with all the relatives there. We ended up staying most of the day to enjoy Eddie and Hailey. I could have used the crop to help me relax after a full day of fighting Comcast. I hope you had a good turn out online. Linda, I'm glad you had a great day (even though long) at the fly-in and car show. Nice that you were able to find a new lambie, even if it took looking at 2 stores. I see you have posted a bunch on the sharing thread. I hope to get over there later tonight. scrappyrabbit, I have really enjoyed your wedding pages. How long have you and DH been married? Glad things are still going well with your pregnancy. It will be fun to have a Pokey Pea newborn! kellyr21, I'm glad you got to do a little art work last week. Tennis with DH sounds like a good "out" together. Your weather must be pretty good right now. We are hit and miss for temps above 50. We have had a couple of beautiful days with very cold winds, but seeing the sun again is uplifting. grammadee, has your mojo returned? I hope you were able to get some double points. I spent the entire day Friday on the phone with Comcast as each TV went out one by one. Then the internet went out. We made 2 trips down to their store to try to fix it to no avail. By 10:30 that night we got everything turned on and working. Sat night the Tv's went out again. It was midnight before we had everything back on. We were not happy with them. They did give us a credit for all our inconvenience....nineteen dollars. Consequently I did no scrapping Fri or Sat, but today I finished one layout. Not many double points for me.

Argh nylene - that sounds so frustrating! The cable guys and internet guys and cellular guys...they take such advantage of us all! kellyr21 - glad you put your tennis racket to use! Our nets aren't up yet even though the weather was HOT this week (over 80 degrees. The dogs and cats were so happy!) but come May we'll definitely be out. Linda - that sounds like a very very very full and fulfilling day. Bet you have a lot of photos to scrap from it! I got a few cards made this weekend, but very little scrapping done. But I'm making headway with chores and important adult things - work before pleasure!
