Earlier this week I finally got the stuff from the spring box labeled and put away. I spent ALL DAY today die cutting for the spellbinders class. Once I finish that up, I’m gonna switch gears and work on getting the pink fresh classes prepped. I also spent the day straightening my Gemini Jr and Platinum 6 cutting plates. Some were warped so bad I had to do the process twice.

Well, I just finished unpacking my box, and I'm blown away! This is great! Lots of fun will be had doing these cards! However, I'm missing 7 items, all from the drawstring bag. I need to find the missing items form and fill it out. Check your bags carefully! Well, DUH. I'm only missing four items. Read on Facebook about checking both ends... The OLO markers are double-inked, one on each end. So I'm not missing any of those. I am missing the four embossing powders, though. Oops, I missed that too. Well at least they will just reply to me about it!!

MDscrapaholic At least they can send your embossing powder separately so they won’t leak all over everything else like has happened to a few people on this board. One year I was missing the entire bag of Sunday supplies - every single class. I didn’t know until the unboxing event about 10 days before the actual event - they mailed it out right away and I received them in a day. I’m in Ontario, though. I didn’t want to start on my homework until I finished all of my cards from last Fall’s event - and I finally did that today, yay! I did every single card, including Jennifer McGuire’s bonus cards. The only thing I didn’t do was Angie Blom’s colouring because I lost her printed card stock, darn. But I’m super happy and I cannot believe how many cards I made! So tomorrow I start cleaning my craft room, reinking my ink pads, and doing my PF and C&CD homework. Excited!

Y’all are making me excited and I’m not participating! I just know I’m in the mood to prep for something! Will you be posting your cards? I ask because I feel like the classes would be fun, but that much of the product wouldn’t get used again because a lot I see isn’t my style. But I could learn to love it!

The Facebook page for the event got drama filled two nights ago. All the posts have since been removed, thankfully. It started with a woman saying she bought some inks and then found out there would be inks included. Several people showed her where that was mentioned in the notices. There was only one of these post that I felt was borderline snarky. So the woman starts another posting about people being mean and she was bullied etc. and now she’s not even sure she wants to participate. Many people commented that they didn’t see any bullying. One lady took her side and said the “veterans” of past events were not being nice to the new people. Another well meaning and sincere woman suggested she go to her doctor for antidepressants because she herself feels so much better after doing so. I have attended all of the card events and I’ve never seen the Facebook page get like this. Maybe it’s because they increased the number of attendees to 3400 this time. I wonder sometimes if some of these people even know what they signed up for. They don’t appear to read any of the information emailed and provided on the page. So the same questions are asked repeatedly, like when do I get my box, what date is the event etc.” There have always been the ones that over engineer everything and the ones that worry about every supply. But there is a meanness this year from some of these attendees that I have not seen before. All this to say, I am staying away as much as possible from the FACEBOOK page. It used to be a nice group, but too many mean girls this year. I agree with you...i thought it was just me.

I'm not a fan of the Stamps of Life cards but I like the products. I'll watch the class to learn how to use the dies properly, then I'll be able to make my own cards.

You can try to get into the holiday event that's in November if you're interested. That one is both scrapbooking and cards. Crop & Create Delivered HOLIDAY I believe there are about 10 of us doing it. The website says: UPDATE: Registration is now closed. To be added to our waitlist please send an email to Jen at jen@scrapbookandcards.com stating the name and date of the event you would like to be waitlisted for.

I know a lot of you are in the PF event this coming weekend, but has anyone started or completed the SCT event homework? I started and so far I've only done three classes. I'm not looking forward to all the cutting for SB.com and the die cutting for Spellbinder's and Honey Bee so I'm saving them for last. I do read through all the instructions to see if there is anything I can do ahead, like emboss or pre-stamp a card base. (or in the case of CC, cut the black cardstock and make the bases)
I'm not a fan of fancy folds or cards that don't just open regularly. LOL! I plan to just make those into traditional style cards.
ETA: someone posted on FB that it took about 18 hours for HW

I did a couple last night! Didn't take too long. I think I did TE, Scrapbook.com and HoneyBee. I'm not going to get another chance to work on them again until Wednesday after work. PF unboxing is today and C&CD is Tuesday. Then there's all the instructor things... (might skip those).
I'm not a fan of fancy folds either. I'm disappointed that the GinaK is one of those.

I'm *mostly* done with the homework. I still need to do some more heat embossing. I like to get that out of the way before class if possible.
For SB.com, I'm veering from the directions for some of the cards. I love the patterned paper but not the way it's being used. I do not like that forever card so I'm not doing that one. I did the die cutting & paper cutting but honestly it was a while back and I don't remember it being too bad. For Spellbinders and Honey Bee, I did all the die cutting. It was tedious and took a long time.
I have not prepped for the Pink & Main class. I love the products but I'm not making her cards. The colors are awful. I'll probably watch along and make my own cards. I have seen that some people had trouble using the embossing folder.
I already know I'm not watching all the classes live so I'm going to try to finish up what I can but I'm not stressing about it.

I’ve got a very little bit of homework done. I’m limited to sitting at my craft table or desk for 10 to 15 minutes at a stretch, so I’m planning on being at this for a while. I’m just grateful I can finally sit there for a few minutes now!
So far, I’ve got Spellbinders and Taylored Expressions ready. Obviously, I won’t be participating over the weekend, so I’m just meandering around and picking and choosing things that I know I’ll want to work on in the future when somebody figures out how to fix me!
I really like the colors for Pink & Main, but I’m holding off on starting that one. I’d rather use colored card stock, than ink some of the pieces and TE is coming out with some new colors tomorrow that might work for me, so I’ll wait and see on that. I also don’t have a foil machine, but I do have some of the glue, so I’m waiting to watch the class and see what I can and can’t do on the cards.
I also am not thrilled with Gina’s cards and will change them up at some point. Next up is Honey Bee and Lawn Fawn. I was so thrilled with how the Honey Bee cards turned out last time, that I can’t wait to do those. And, I figure I can color the Lawn Fawn pieces here in my reclining chair. So those will keep me busy for another few days!
My goal is to get well in time to do the Holiday event in real time. I’m tired of not being able to do much. I’m BORED!!!

I started the homework and then stopped. We were in the middle of rearranging our shared office space and my craft space. My husband and I both work from home (well I’m back in the office one day a week). My work from home space was also my craft space. My husband decided to move his work from home space into my step-son’s bedroom (he is only here every other weekend and let me have the full “office” space as my work from home space and craft space. We got it all set up this past weekend and I’m excited to start working on the rest of the homework tonight after work!

I have not done any homework for either event.
My family member that was terminally ill passed away Wednesday. So I will just watch the PF event this weekend and see how involved I feel for this next one.
I do think the distraction will help me, so I will enjoy being with everyone but still at a distance. It has helped reading our threads about both events.

I had trouble with the embossing folder. It took a lot of shims.

I received the missing Brutus Monroe embossing powders yesterday! I'm hoping I'm not missing anything else!

So now that the unboxing has occurred, I just want to say this is by far the best C&CD box. I say that mostly because of all 16 classes, I believe there is only 1 class for me where it's a total dud. There are others that I don't like the cards at all but the kit products are great and I can totally use them in other ways. I was completely shocked at how much was in this box.
I was super excited about the SCT gift (organizing tray) and the Taylored Expression anti-static powder tool (I've wanted one for soooo long)!

I told dh that if I only did C&C card events, spring and fall, I could cut back my random shopping throughout the year and still have plenty of fun, new stuff.
These events are definitely worth the money!
