Update May 10, 2023: Let's get this party STARTED! Each day I will copy and paste the prompts here, so they will all be in one place.
Everyone is invited to jump in and play. Please chat and share any of your takes on the prompts in this thread. If you are a member of a challenge team and want to ask questions about points, please check out the DOUBLE POINTS WEEKEND thread. Hopefully that will explain what you need to know. If not, please tag me with any questions about points there.
Day FOUR Prompts
THEME = 5 Faves - Scrap your 5 favorite somethings, anythings. Things you love, people you love, songs, movies, anything goes.
I have long wanted to do a top 5 list about lots of things, but when I found this photo it instantly brought a list to mind. This pagemaps sketch from May 2023, was exactly what I was envisioning. Now that that I've finished, the page just seemed to morph on it's own. Almost to the point of toooo busy for me, but I'm really happy with it.
SKETCH
The Recipe today is FIVE
F= use 5 of one item, dots, stars, numbers, patterned paper, 5 photos, etc. I= Inky Ink edges, use stamps, stencil, any ink, any way. V= A view of you. Include yourself somewhere on the page. In a photo, in the story, or using your own handwriting, or first person journaling. E= embellishing - use puffy stickers or alphas
Discussion Question - What's on in the background during your scrappy sessions? Day FOUR Prompts
Day THREE Prompts THEME: Best Day Ever...it's a scrapbooking cliche, right? So you don't have to pick a single BEST EVER day but you could pick a best right now day or follow my lead and pick one that certainly wasn't the best.
Sketch:
Recipe: Peas is the Recipe Word P = patterned paper with words/text E = embellish with a circle A = accent with RED S = strips of paper (or cardstock)
Day TWO Prompts THEME:
Let's have FUN!!! Consider Parties! Game nights! Theme Parks! Silliness! Picnics! Waterfights! Swinging! Roller Skating! Trampolining! Playing fetch with the dog! Think action, think sunshine, think laughter.
SKETCH: I chose the upcoming sketch for the Scrapbook and Cards Today by Alison Davis. It will be in their summer release. Shimelle worked with it last week. However, she only did a few "rays", they were much bigger, and they were VELLUM and not ANGLED so it was less fussy to complete.
My RECIPE today features the word "SMILE"! S = use scraps M = put "me" (aka you) on a layout! I = ink - could be inky edges, stamping, or using other markers to colour or doodle (journaling doesn't count tho) L = Labels - add some labels as layers or, hey, as labels! E = Edges - tear, distress, punch an edge, or hand-cut a fringe or scallop.
Challenge Team PEAS, don't forget to check the DOUBLE POINTS WEEKEND thread for information and questions.
Day ONE Prompts Welcome to DAY ONE of the 2Peas Scrappin' PARTY 2023! Host: grammadee Theme of the Day: YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE! Interpret this any way you like. Sorry AussieMeg and Chinagirl828 and any other "down under" Peas, but here in Canada, we are delighted to see the sun coming back to us. We want to celebrate the lighter days and greater freedom to get outside to enjoy them. You can pay homage to someone you love, include a photo of a sunny smile, use some sun, rainbow, &/or cloud diecuts or stickers... however you can fit this theme onto a page or card. Let's start with a Sketch. I loved the rays in this one. One tip from Paige Evans: when you are cutting rays, first cut your 12x12 paper in half (or any other portion, like cut off a third.) Then choose a point from which the rays will shoot out from, and use your trimmer to cut them. If you want to use scraps for your rays, you can cut a template and number the pieces. Then clip each numbered piece to a different scrap, use it to guide your cutting, and keep it together until you place your rays. RECIPE: include at least one item on your project to represent each of the following: Let there be L (lined or striped pp), I (insect(s) like ants or butterflies), G (something green), H (handmade--so fussy cutting, hand stitching, doodling handwriting,...), T (at least one torn edge). DISCUSSION QUESTION: We can chat about anything you like. But I was wondering what about scrapbooking, papercrafting, cardmaking brings light to YOUR life?

Original message: Make a note of these dates: May 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th. If you would like a little scrappy fun, join us for sketches, prompts, inspiration, and scrappy chat. If you are a challenge team member, lots of opportunity to earn extra points, but you definitely don't need to be a member of one of those teams to come and play with us.
NSD is so busy with all the internet and in person events. So we purposely chose the following weekend. Hope to see you dropping by...

I might be able to join on Sunday, we have something going on Saturday and I unfortunately am on a jury so no weekday scrapping for me until it's over.

I won't be able to attend until the weekend. Next week I'm accompanying 250 8th graders to Washington DC. I'm in charge of a bus with 40 kids and 5 other adults. Wish me luck.

Sending you endurance and patience, artbabe! Hope by the weekend you will have the energy to play, even if it is just dropping in to chat. Just a quick overview of the plan for the five days... It will all be happening here in this thread. I will be editing the op with updates as prompts activate during the party, and the points structure for those of us playing on the Q-2 teams. Each day will have a host, who will post: Sketch-- Colour scheme/theme-- Recipe of at least 3 stash items-- Discussion question-- And at least one sample to get us going. Then all the rest of us need to do is jump into the chat, try using one or all of the prompts on one--or many--scrappy projects, and hopefully share what we have created over those five days. So sweep away all the scrappy debris from your iNSD adventure, and get ready to party with the Peas come Thursday!

I am just getting back to scrapping after a bit of a break due to a house move and getting everything sorted again. I made a bit of a start this past weekend, and would love to join in where possible later this week. I'm not sure how I'll do, due to time zones (I'm in Germany), but Friday and the weekend look promising.

Just two more days... sueg, just have fun creating and pop in here when you can to chat. If you can share what you have made, wonderful. If not, that's okay--just let us know you created it. If you can meet the prompts, super! If not, that's fine, too: this is really just for fun. Each day's prompts will include a chat question, but really you don't even need to pay any attention to that! Just pop in when you can and discuss anything you would like to chat about. Hope to see everyone at the Big PEA Scrappy Party!

Sorry AussieMeg and Chinagirl828 and any other "down under" Peas, but here in Canada, we are delighted to see the sun coming back to us. We want to celebrate the lighter days and greater freedom to get outside to enjoy them. Ha! Well, after many days of cold and rain, we finally have some sunshine here today, and it will get back up to 21 degrees on the weekend, so all good! My walking partner has flown off to Italy this morning, so DSO said he would do the mountain walk with me for the next five weeks. Only problem is, he walks between 20,000 and 40,000 steps at work each day, and is a lot fitter than I am. The last time he walked with me, he got up the mountain about three times faster than me, then had the nerve to say "What took you so long?" when I got to the top, huffing and puffing. I want to get up there on the weekend, to try out some of the iPhone photography tricks that I have been learning in a course I'm doing. I love the sketch you posted, I am a sucker for sun rays.

Wow! Mountain walks, AussieMeg! I am proud if I can walk for 20-30 minutes on fairly level ground. Hope you get some fun photos this weekend. I remember when I took a summer job in Jasper National Park one year and this prairie girl was feeling really hemmed in by the mountains. I whined about it in a letter to my foster parents. My foster mom would always write a page or two and the dad would add a one sentence note at the bottom of her letter. That time, he wrote, "Get your hiking boots on and get to the TOP of one of those mountains!" I followed his advice and it really helped me see that summer in a different light. I have not done a sample page yet for the prompts, but planned to use pic's from my dgs's soccer game yesterday evening. Wouldn't you know it was NOT sunny. Pretty cool and drizzly. But I did get some great shots of the grin on his face after he scored a goal, so I think I will go ahead with my soccer page after all.

I have just woken up Thursday morning and am reading this as I drink my morning coffee. Definitely not a 'Sunshine' day here! I have to leave in an hour or so to go to a meeting, then this afternoon I have my regular child-minding session, so I hope to get back to scrap either in between or after.
I have an idea in mind for the sketch, if I can find the photos of my granddaughter I printed. I can possibly use many of the recipe ingredients for what I have in mind too!

DISCUSSION QUESTION: We can chat about anything you like. But I was wondering what about scrapbooking, papercrafting, cardmaking brings light to YOUR life? hmmm....I love bringing memories back into the light where they'll be seen rather than tucked away on a computer hard drive. Thanks for the prompts - I have a few chores to take care of and then will be diving in.

chores are done, April points added up (yeah, I'm late), and May points calculated so far - now I'm ready to scrap. I have some graduation pics from 2012 on my desk along with a couple of sheets of SG graduation paper and one sheet of cutaparts - all in the green colourway. Now to figure out a layout and locate my mojo...

Most of you know about ds and dd. Scrapbooking saved me while we were in medical hell for about 6 years. It gave me happiness in very dark times.
Now it gives me light as I am able to look back and see just how far the kids have come and how we as a family have as well as how far I have come.
That light brings me joy.

I was hoping to start off this morning by starting on these prompts myself, but first had to deal with the start I made last week on my Donna challenge LO. I had cut the pieces and left them in a pile on my scrap counter with the photos. This morning I did a little stenciling, inked some layers and glued everything down. Will share later today.
Now I am drinking my cold coffee--set it down to clear the counter and just got back to it--then getting a fresh cup and starting on soccer.

I am swimming in lemons from my parents tree, so I am making ālemon tiramisuā.

(((((HUGS))))) pantsonfire. I am so glad that scrapbooking could bring you respite then and joy now. Linda, you do such an amazing job of preserving those memories and giving them new life on your pages. As for me, scrapbooking brightens my life in so many ways! I love taking the photos, imagining the pages they will go on, collecting the supplies (and some extras since I know I will need options LOL), putting the pages together, and looking through my books afterward. I love the light in my dgk's eyes when they see themselves on scrapbook pages. I love that they ask for their own scrapbooks. And an important thing scrapbooking does is lets me drive away from a family event, or see the "kids" driving out of my yard, knowing nothing will be happening for quite awhile, but knowing that I have all those photos and can create all those pages...

(((Hugs))) pantsonfire - I'm glad scrapbooking has been a respite for you. scrappyrabbit - that sounds delicious! Lemons here are a winter fruit - we picked ours in December grammadee - cold coffee doesn't sound so good. Hope you have a nice hot cup now (but I can relate - my tea often goes cold while I get sidetracked) On the computer to journal - my layout is assembled but not glued. I spent way too long fussy-cutting stars and I might not actually use of them on this page. Oh well, they'll be ready for anopther one.

Here is my LO for the prompts. Think I got em all. Rain or Shine soccer by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Tuesday evening, the temps were just above freezing and although it didn't technically rain, the air was damp. Today temps are supposed to be 20C. If it could stay at that temp always, I would be a happy camper! And if we could have LEMONS... so much the better!
