I'm familiar with that method of creating a jig to use with a stamp positioner, but I'm mystified (NPI) how you would use one with an acrylic block.

One clarifying question: was the homework more fully fleshed out for the C&CD classes? I'm not exactly sure what you mean by fully fleshed out. I just pulled out my books. In the Fall 2021 class (my first ever C&CD), there two homework items listed. 1) Cut 1/8 inch strips of each color cardstock in the class. 2) Die cut 3 hearts. However, just looking at the cards, I knew there was A LOT I should do beforehand to not get overwhelmed and help me keep up. If you didn't adhere the strips prior to class, you were gonna fall behind. If you didn't die cut ALL the die cuts necessary for ALL the cards, you were gonna fall behind. If you didn't heat emboss sentiments, you were gonna fall behind. I really don't think that is on the instructor to tell you to do. And in a class of 2000+ people, they can't wait for a hand full to catch up. In the Spring 2022 class, there was some basic die cutting homework listed for each card. One of the big issues was that we used a very large stamp with a very big solid image. Amy specifically said to condition the stamp. There was a paragraph about it. A lot of people didn't do this good enough and could not get a good solid image of their stamp. They all complained that they had defective product when they really didn't. These are two of the cards from the class. They are not simple cards and I knew there was a lot of prep work I could do that would help me keep up. There was A LOT of masking too. So many people could not get the hang of the masking. These really aren't Amy's fault but boy did she feel the brunt of it. http://instagram.com/p/CdI7BjJrkLT I truly believe you have to know what your skillset is and set your expectations to that.

I spent just a couple of hours doing my homework for this event today. I skipped Amy’s card and will do that tomorrow and then go back and get the rest of my supplies out for the event. I don’t have any Pink Fresh inks but a very helpful poster on FB matched some Gina K and C&9 inks and I have those :-)
I am starting to wonder who is going to be special enough to get the cards I make this weekend, lol!
I am not sure what to say about The Stamp Market—I’m a huge fan! And I’m not saying that I’m an expert stamper or cardmaker, but I know how to use the tools I have and have no issue with Amy's pace. Sometimes I do fall behind but I am rather methodical and I will finish after the class.
But she uses foam tape for lots of her cards and I am never satisfied with amount she uses. I’m always thinking “you need more foam tape if you are going to mail that sucker!!” LOL!

I finished all my homework except The Stamp Market class. I think I may just watch the class first and then make the card.
I really prefer stamping or stenciling a piece first and then die cutting it so I can get it nicely centered. I've done classes where I die cut first and then stamped but then it wouldn't look aligned.
Super excited for this weekend.

I just uploaded the book to Staples.com and will pick it up tomorrow. Another $40 bucks spent for this event.
I'm slowly working my way through the homework, but can't really pick any ink colors yet. I need to get the book and then work all that out. I only have Distress Oxides, Taylored Expressions and Hero Arts ink pads, plus some random Concord & 9th cubes I got from several C&CD events.
The cards are growing on me! I hope to do a couple of the make and takes tomorrow. I've watched the videos on FB and they are so cool!

But I was going to mostly just watch this weekend. Saturday I’m cooking a couple meals for my brother and sil and then Sunday we are all doing a charity walk in my nieces name. You guys are all helping me get excited for the event though. Thank you for pulling me out of my sadness.

If you are having problems with TSM homework.
The info is there. It just isn’t formatted to be friendly to read. On the first card (in the booklet) go to instructions 3-8. Each number tell you how many of this or that to cut in which colors. Between that and looking at the photos, I was able to figure it out. If it helps, highlight each step in a different color to make it easier to separate out what needs to be gone. Same with the second card. Give it one more try and good luck!
ETA: I think on the second one in particular, just cut a bunch of the smaller holly leaves and the larger greenery in several different colors and go for it. I also added glitter leaves.

She stamped her images then put the negative space of the die cut around it. GENIUS! I’m going to try this. I think it will help center my stamping. www.instagram.com/reel/CxazuixMyPE/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

For class #2 with Carissa Wiley, my stencils don't match to the stamp. It's off just a tiny bit between the boxes at the bottom and the florals at the top. I have to keep moving the stencil around.
And I don't like the colors I chose. Bah humbug. LOL

I plan to make the cards live with the instructors. How about everyone else?
It was my day off so I actually finished all the homework including the Stamp Market class. I ended up stamping everything, then diecutting, took me over 2 hours to prep for that class. I don't think I will be replicating these two cards.😀 Thanks for the helpful hints.
I ended up making the first 3 make and take cards. I'm not too creative and matched the color exactly as how the instructor had them. Class #2 make and take ended up being my favorite. The presents and envelope diecut look really nice in person.
Also, I really like the slider die, it was super easy to put together.

I came back from being out of town last week and my box had arrived - yay! But then I opened it & I am one of the ones who has class 1 & 5 missing…hopefully I will get those in the next few days. Those were the 2 classes I was most excited about as well. I know I’ll get them as I got an email from PF just crossing my fingers I get them before Saturday… Hoping to start my homework tomorrow!! Did your missing class products arrived in time?

This morning I plan to set the craft room up and then go to yoga. I’ll catch most of the kick off party while eating breakfast. I’ll craft along to the first two classes, but by 5 -7 pm I am typically fried. I may or may not be able to work on class 3 Sunday morning. Sunday I’ll again do the first two live for sure. The third one’s a little earlier Sunday, so I’ll see how I’m feeling at 4.

I haven’t done anything to get ready yet, had surgery yesterday and wasn’t sure how I would feel, but I am doing well. Getting ready to get in craft room and see what I can get prepped.

Tropical storm Ophelia is pushing through here all day today with heavy rains and 30-mile an hour winds. I’m hoping the power stays on.

Has anybody ever tried ink-blending over pigment ink? Or know if it’s possible?

Has anybody ever tried ink-blending over pigment ink? Or know if it’s possible? Do you mean if you stamped in black pigment ink, and then ink blended the images? Pigment is permanent once dried, so I would definitely hit it with a heat gun first.

I really enjoyed this first class, but I'm taking a break and will finish up my second card later, I made a mistake on it so I'll just have lunch instead. I have to laugh at the questions people ask that aren't related to what Lea is teaching - can you tell me how you organize your brushes, can you show me how to cut a card panel, can you tell me how to build an Ikea Kallax unit without instructions? Okay I made that last one up, but I'm expecting it. Lea is handling them very well.

I messed up on my second card too, but these are "practice" cards. For sure, they're not something to be mass produced! I'm also not using PF/SM inks, so am having to improvise often. I couldn't follow along with the comments and do the card at the same time. You are a master multi-tasker marg !

Those are beautiful cards MDscrapaholic! I ended up messing up on the second card though. My background didn't stamp well so I made the slimline card into an A2 card. I really liked Lea's class and how she taught slowly. But, lol, yes marg, I was chuckling at the questions too, especially the lady asking how to cut a slim line card when we were almost finished with the card.

I had decided a while ago to use the class as a reason to get Delicata Golden Glitz instead of embossing the little glittery corner bits and glass detail. This morning I got to wondering if I could use it for the outline as well. Stamped it before yoga then heat-embossed one for good measure. I like the way the Delicata one came out. Fell behind when the citrus die went walk about. Didn’t like my ink choice for the background stamping on the slimline and will have to figure something else out later.

Yeah, Shakti , I stamped the background image in a Pumice color, and it was too dark, compared to what Leah was using. It's okay... better than horrible LOL.

Shakti, the Delicate ink looks really good. I stamped the slimline in black because I somehow missed where she said to stamp it in Misty Coast lol. So it kind of smudged when I ink blended. I will be redoing it because it is a very pretty card.

I’m not a fan of lives (in general) because of all the disruption because of the comments, questions or worse the host stopping to welcome people 😛 Classes are the only ‘lives’ I watch but sometimes the questions are very distracting. Everyone’s cards are lovely!! I’m just finishing cooking for my brother, then driving down to deliver the meals. I’m looking forward to relaxing and watching the classes when I get back.
