I am just sick. My DH was driving from our home in Texas to our home up north. He had our rescue cat with him and stopped for fuel. He took her out of the carrier and fastened the leash to her harness so she could go potty. She was really calm and drank some water, but the second her set her down, she freaked out. She slipped out of her harness and ran into the trees. It's a very large, wooded area behind the Valero on Memorial Drive. (next to McDonald's) He walked the area for five hours but couldn't find her. She is a really friendly cat that answers to Kitty even though her name is Silver. She has a black collar with her name and my cell phone. She is grey tiger striped with tan patches. One ear is grey and one is tannish. Bright green eyes. If anyone is in the area and happens to be in the area, would you please, please, please look out for her? Or drive by the very back of the parking lot where she was last seen? We have a reward for her. She happened upon our house a few months ago after her owner passed away. The rumor is that her children didn't want her so just left her. We fell in love, took her to the vet had her checked, vaccinated and spayed. They said she is just about one year old. She is super sweet and cuddly. Thank you soooo very much! We are just heartbroken!

I can't help from where I am but I'm crossing everything that she'll be found quickly none-the-worse-for-wear and be returned to you in no time.🤞🤞

I sure hope you find her! Could you join a community page for that area and post about her there?

I sure hope you find her! Could you join a community page for that area and post about her there? Thank you!! ❤️ My daughter has put out posts on every page she can find in the area. We’ve written animal control, there isn’t a humane society in Marietta. I just hope she comes up to someone.

My son travels with his two cats and often lets them out of their carriers and I'm so worried this could happen to him. Often, humans pick their pets, but Silver picked you. 😊

Any possibility she is chipped? Call the police for that area to ask who you can contact as to animal control etc, local paper, radio station?

Wishing for the very best for Silver, 'Kitty' and your family.

I believe this is the statewide page that shows up in my local town's group fairly often (I'm in OKC area). m.facebook.com/groups/1737439676284752/You might also see if you can find a group about Winstar, the casino that's nearby there.

Oh no! Traveling with my 3 cats and one of them escaping was my biggest fear when moving to Oregon from California. That is a long time to be in a cage. I ended up finding these amazing expandable cages that will span across the entire back seat. I bought 2 of them since I have 3 cats, putting the siblings into one together. My reason for wanting something larger was so that I could put a litter box in the cage with them at one end and their food and water at the other end mounted to the door, and beds in the middle. I practiced with my car inside my garage to see if the cats could escape easily. I found that I could easily remove the small litter box, clean it, and put it back in without them being able to squeeze out. I sat the litter box into one of those IKEA big plastic bags so that I could remove the litter box with one hand by the bag handles while making sure the cats couldn’t get out of the opening with the other hand. I just smashed the bag down out of the way after putting it into the carrier. It worked perfectly and they travelled quietly the whole way. My son was so impressed with the carrier that he asked if he could borrow one to transport his two cats from Idaho back to California. It gives the cat room to move around. And it all folds up to a square 19 inches by 6 inches thick to store it. And it is 45 inches long when fully opened. I pray your kitty will be coming home to you very soon and in the future, consider transporting the cat in one of these so you don’t have to remove the cat from the safety of your vehicle to go to the bathroom: IMG_0487.webp (51.07 KB) www.chewy.com/sport-pet-dog-cat-car-seat-crate/dp/285736?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=12650402385&utm_content=Sport%20Pet&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwmZejBhC_ARIsAGhCqnfaNj_7YMgTmwLUskAVlpATWBYhaYngEbv2-dzM_3BYgy0Rt5CJ8ccaArpPEALw_wcB

Those look great, Lexica . I hope and pray I have the opportunity to need and order one. Thank you! I am fervently praying for the same thing. It is so obvious by your post that you clearly adore this kitty and that she is already a much loved member of your family. Does she have a chip? If not, that is another thing to consider WHEN she comes back home to you.

I wish I lived there. I would absolutely go look everywhere for her. I will think the greatest thoughts that Silver is found and safely returned to you. How very sad. Have you considered calling that McDonalds and talking to whomever is in charge right now. Does Silver have a favorite brand and type of food or snack? Maybe the manager would be willing to purchase it and set it out in order to find Silver? It's a longshot, but anything that helps is worth a try.

We've talked to them and the gas station staff. Everyone is so nice. The animal control man in Marrietta has been so helpful, too. He has been going by several times. The police also. He even gave me his cell phone so I can call on his weekend off. We left a towel that had our scent and hers along with food and water. Hopefully once she settles down she'll come out of the trees. I just hope she didn't run too far. I put a notice out on PetAmberAlert. It may be a scam, I don't know, but I'm willing to try anything. Thanks Delta Dawn!

If you do happen to be in the area, pm me, I’ll draw a map where she was last seen. She usually comes when someone says “here kitty kitty!!” I’ll send a photo too. Wonderful people like you give me hope that I may hold her again!
