I do hope the cat is found--or at best, works its way back to the neighborhood it knows and you eventually get back together.

I sure hope you find your cat soon. I live a couple of hours away from Marietta. We drive past Marietta whenever we go to Dallas. I’ll be glad to stop and look next time we head that way.

I really hope your kitty is found safely very soon! When I was a child our dog stayed with my grandparents while we were away. He got loose and wandered away. A couple of weeks later some new neighbors came to tell my dad that they thought they saw him at a lumber yard miles from my grandparents house. My dad and brother drove there and opened the car doors and Linus came running from the woods behind the store! Aww. I bet Linus was so relieved. Sending positive thought that the Op kitty finds her way to her family too. Soon! |

peasquared I couldn't figure out how to put photos in PM. So am posting them here. The area where the blanket was is very loud and close to 35. I really don't think she is in that area. We called and called for her but it was so loud I don't think she would have heard us if she was there. I think she must have went far into the woods. The woods kind of angles off to the left away from 35. We searched some there but it angled off on to private property. It's really over grown in that area. We looked for a logo on the building but we didn't see anything.  I'm so sorry, we searched and called for her for several hours, I really wish we had found her. We left food and water.

scrapmaven, librarylady, quietgirl, RedSquirrelUK, auntkelly, FurryP, and MorningPerson thank you so much for thinking of us! rodeomom, there aren’t enough words to express how grateful I am for all you have done. It makes me tear up just thinking of how you are so caring to do this for a stranger. I hope I can make it up to you in some way!! You will always hold a special place in my heart! I am stopped for the night in Kansas but on my way there. My dh is back home with our dog but I have a few days to search the town and put up posters. Thank you rodeomom for explaining the area and helping me know which direction she may be avoiding. Also for the fresh food snd water. My heart is full with all the kindness shown these last few days. You’ve all proven that there are wonderful people in the world and one of them may just spot my sweet girl. 🙏🏻 Thank you all! I love this pea pod of ours and all of you!❤️

Another long shot... When you get in the area,call the police or such. Find out who might owner that property. It says monitored surveillance cameras... Who knows what they might have seen.
Or they might not care.
I've been reading the posts but forget if you had attempted to notify people in the areas where Silver used to live in case she heads that way..

I had forgotten that you weren't far into your journey when she escaped. She might very well be trying to get back home - which I don't know how far that is from Marietta. revirdsuba99 and RedSquirrelUK, thank you! I’ve made it Marietta and talked to one police officer. Very nice but wasn’t able to help with that. The police department isn’t open. I’m even more grateful to rodeomom than ever seeing what she walked through. I’ve got my boots and I’m ready to go though. It could be months if she tried to walk home. It’s about 400 miles to our Texas house. But they are on the lookout just in case. Thank you for all the good wishes!❤️

I met the man with the no trespassing sign. He saw her last night about 11 pm and today a friend sent him one of the lost pet Facebook posts.
He is the kindest man! He showed me where he saw her, not far from where she escaped. It’s a wooded area with a creek that runs through it. Cat paradise in a sense.
So I’m parked on his private property just watching to see if she comes for food.
I plan to make sure I’m here in the late evening when she’s on the prowl. He’s given me free range of the area.
I hope and pray this works!

That’s a great sign that the cat has recently been spotted and that the man is letting you onto his property. I have a good feeling that you will be reunited with your cat soon. Keep us updated.

I haven’t opened this thread because I’m nowhere near the area but 3 pages got my curiosity up. Oh my gosh…I'm a cat mom and I’m praying hard that you find your precious baby. It sounds like there’s a lot of hope now that she’s been seen.

Thank you all! I’m sorry I’m not tagging everyone, I just want to quick update on my day. I appreciate each of your posts. No kitty yet! But, the man and his girlfriend have been wonderful! They have been searching with me and offering food and flashlights, etc. I feel that even if I leave empty handed he will still be on the lookout. And he’s best friends with the animal control man who has been so nice. I searched and called all day but didn’t see her. Tomorrow, he is having some of his employees who love to hunt walk through the trees to possibly flush her out. If that doesn’t work, we are setting a live trap tomorrow night. I hung in there until 11 pm, the time he saw her last night. Now it’s time to sleep. I can’t thank you all enough, and rodeomom enough. We didn’t get to meet but she’s in my heart! ❤️ |
