I am a serious cherry hunter. It saves me tons and tons of money and that is why I do it. In the last month I have had a lot of difficulty finding even 50 cherries in an hour. This used to take me 15 min to find 200. Now it's an hour to find 40-50. It may sound like I am being greedy, but I do buy a lot of stuff from their store. They have a nick name for me (The Prima Lady). They all know me by name and know what I like and don't like. I have 22,000 points and I was hoping to have nearly 30,000 by the time it came to placing an order in Feb. I don't think that is going to happen now.
Is anyone else having problems finding their cherries? Has anyone else given up on it all together? Are you shopping elsewhere because of it? I find ACOT has everything I need in one store. Their shipping to Canada is outrageous but I deal with that as they get in whatever I am looking for, they hold stuff for me until stuff comes in, I can add to orders no problem, they just adjust the total. I love dealing with them and each person I talk to is nicer than the last. I can't say enough good things about them.
I just want cherry hunting to go back to being fun again. I used to look forward to it every night and now it's more of a pain in the neck.

Yes, I noticed around the time 2Peas closed that there were fewer cherries

I haven't played in awhile, but bummer if there's less! That's my fave online store too and I like their loyalty program. The cherries were a bonus. Can you still get points for posting on their MB?

Thanks for the kind feedback. We have not changed our cherry hunt game in some time. If you're having trouble finding cherries (or santa hats ...), be sure you're clicking around in areas of our website that you haven't visited before. Hope this helps

I have had a very hard time finding cherries in the store lately. I don't think I double visit items on the same day for cherry hunting -- I go through different companies, themes or categories. Yesterday, someone on ACOT suggested clearing board cookies and there was a noticeable improvement. It's actually easier and faster to leave gallery comments. It's a pretty active gallery so it's easy to get some points that way.
This is one of those things that are a nice bonus and I am not going to actually complain about since they are basically giving away money in the way of points. I don't know of any other loyalty program that does that without buying anything.

No, the board crashed during the summer and reinstating that feature was causing problems. You can still get points for leaving gallery comments, posting projects in the gallery, linking products to gallery postings and leaving product reviews for things you buy from their store.

I can't say that I've found fewer cherries, but I'm usually just looking at the new stuff. ACOT is my favorite store. They seem to get in the new stuff I want and have the basics in stock. I've been ordering from them for years and have always had great luck.

I love ACOT but you want to talk about shipping being outrageous?? I live 2 hours from the warehouse and used to place pretty regular orders, but the last 5 or 6 times I have gone on and made a cart the shipping has been so high that I can't justify the order. They used to have an additional shipping coupon for $1 off for every ten spent and that would help some, but they did away with it.
I know shipping in general is high and I want to keep placing orders but at some point I can't justify being that close and paying as much as they want to charge.

I can usually get a small order to come in at $2.99 to ship. But the minute you add 12x12 papers, you're doomed to priority mail.

I had an order with 2 pieces of paper, 2 packs of journaling cards and a wrmk tag ($.59). ~$11 total and ship was 6. I just couldn't go through with it even though I wanted my items baaaaad!

I live 2 hours away and I think shipping is completely reasonable. It's going to be priority mail, it is what it is. They have coupons all of the time so I consider that a wash for shipping. I usually get my order within a day so I'm a happy camper.

I live on another planet and that's why shipping is so expensive. I need the cherries to compensate for the expensive shipping.
Thing is, though, I can get everything in one store. They know me there by name. They know what I like (by now I am sure they do). I haven't placed an order in a while so I am waiting until CHA is over and they put up their preorders. I always (always) preorder from ACOT and I am never disappointed. Heidi and everyone there are wonderful. If something sells out really quickly they are quick to put it up for preorder to get it in again. Love that. They carry everything and anything too. I have shopped around (if you saw my stash you would know what I get where) and ACOT is my first choice hands down.

It's the paper. As soon as they have to use that big box, shipping is going to cost more. It's not the cost of your items--it's the cost that a larger box incurs. They always have deals on shipping, but it's with a certain amount purchased. And they have a code lookup right on the checkout page. They try to make it easy. They package paper carefully. It's put into a big zip closed bag and then taped to a 12 x 12 piece of cardboard. And orders come fast.

Still doesn't mean I am going to spend that much on shipping!! Sometimes I do $100 orders, sometimes I just want a couple things- but it's cost prohibitive and I was so aggravated all the way around (USPS) that I haven't gone back on the site since. They don't have to ship priority. Being that close, they could put all TWO papers of the order in a flat envelope and ship first class for half the cost.

But then people will complain that their paper got bent, so either way they just can't win. Exactly. It would never work to send 12 x 12 paper in just at an envelope. First off, it would need to be folded in half to fit into a mailbox. And the corners would get ragged. Maybe it's just my post office, but mail comes to me looking like it's been carried through a war zone. I'm grateful all of ACOT stuff gets packaged in zip bags. My mail lady routinely leaves my boxes by the garage (out n the open) and it always seems to be raining. In spite of the fact that the porch is less than 5 steps away. Sure it's a lot to pay for shipping when it's just two pieces of paper. But if you went out shopping (say at Michael's), you would find something else to buy. Then you would need a coffee. And maybe lunch. In the long run, you save money just paying for the shipping! Or just order a few more things and get free shipping...

Look, I love ACOT; I have been a dedicated buyer for a very long time. I gave them more business than I ever have 2peas. Me stating my experience and opinion on shipping doesn't change that.

There's some threads on ACOT from the past few days regarding hunting Cherries (Santa Hats, etc.), and some ppl have given some good advice. I don't hunt often, but when I would recently I noticed difficulty. I've always gone to the same places, though, and when I took some suggestions from others about where to hunt, my Cherry count went up, and I was finding several 2 and 3 pointers.

I didn't realize that the cherries or what ever were all over the page. I used to be able to find them all relatively easy at the top with the product description. Now, they could be with related products, in the middle by the customer reviews and at the very bottom. I just shrink the page down so I can see most if it at once and ckick through. I still don't get to 150 but I get much more than I was.

I destroyed my computer so I haven't hunted in a few days plus I have been either too busy or tired to hunt. I am good with 22,000 now. Maybe I? I'll get more. Who knows?

Anyone with a boat load of cherries better get a big order ready before January 1st.
Update from ACOT - 12/17/14 """"*Maximum of $20 in points may redeemed on any one order (starting January 1, 2015)""""

I understand the need to limit this. I woudl rather they do what they need to do and stay in business, so many going under... I love ACOT and hope they are around forever

$20 per order and 100 per day? I am not even going to hunt any more. It's more bother than it's worth. I want to get $300 worth of Primas and I will be good for this CHA then.

I just went into my history and I have used $105 worth of points. This will really affect my shopping there but honestly there is nothing but Primas that I want. I am good for paper and a bazillion stamps. I can get Cardstock at Michaels so really there is only my Primas that I would need.
