I am very curious as to what happened but I’ll wait until more info is released. Based on the stuff that I hear happening in Los Angeles, I do think it could all be legit.

I hope all is above board, but from the very moment I heard about this I though it sounded very suspicious. Everyone around me is going NUTS about 'trafficking' since the move "Sound of Freedom" is playing in the theater hear. I haven't seen the movie, but they say it is very powerful. And all the conspiracy theory that "they" whoever "they" might be - didn't want the movie released. Oh boy.... I know that trafficking is real, and the though of young people and children involved is so heartbreaking. My (limited) research shows that a lot, if not almost all, cases are linked to a family member or trusted person being involved it this happening. Which is tragic! But the amount of people I know that are convinced a trafficking ring is waiting outside of Walmart for them is astonishing. Their cars are being marked with a zip tie, or a dollar bill in their windshield wiper. Or a "creepy guy" is following them. Every time it has been proven to be absolutely false. The person is either attention seeking, or just plain coo-coo. I have to say, I believe it could happen to anyone, anywhere. But use that fear to increase your situational awareness. Mormon Stories Podcast on Youtube has dome several streams about Tim B and the movie. Shaddy stuff for sure! Oh and the girl the movie is based off of? She was 14, met up with her lover, her took her, and she freed HERSELF at age 17. No crazy take down. And you are right. Majority is done by family or close friend.

I had read speculation the reason she appeared to slowly approach a distance away was because she drove by and saw the child. Turned around somewhere and came back. That seems plausible.
I’m really hoping that this was just a happy ending to a bad situation. TMZ is reporting that she was dropped off at her parents home and appeared in shock.

My question though is why no one else saw the child. Not even a passenger in another vehicle. From the video, there were a lot of cars on the road at that time.

Well, this is a true issue and people are concerned about it. I don't know what the issues are around the movie. I am glad she was found and I truly hope that all is above board. I am hoping we don't find out in the next few weeks this wasn't as it seemed at first.

The amount of white women on tik tok sharing about how there are kidnapping rings waiting for them is just not what typically happens. Number one group of people who are vulnerable to human trafficking are migrant workers followed by homeless youth and other marginalized people. Your average white, suburban woman is not the target for trafficking. I'm glad the young lady was found safe. This story is very strange. I do wonder if she had some type of mental health crisis and never really was kidnapped. I hope she heals from whatever happened.

It seems odd to me that if she was lured by using a toddler - that the people who did this would leave a Mercedes behind, and surely if you were getting out of your car at night to find a baby - you'd take your phone with you?
I think it's likely something happened...but that 'something' might have been a psychological break down of some kind, either a mental illness issue or possibly drug related (prescription or illegal). It all sounds very erratic and the fact that she made it home rather than to police or hospital in the first instance, and they are reporting that she's in 'shock' suggests that her mental state isn't good. Also hard to believe that no-one else saw a toddler out on his own, which means she could have been hallucinating.
Whatever happened, it's good that she made it home and has gone to a hospital and will be getting some help.

Three counties over from us, they busted a huge sex trafficking ring. Most of the women were migrants brought from other countries, so this does go on, regardless of who made the movie. We need to open our eyes.

We need to open our eyes. We do - but the greater percentage of trafficking is nothing like the movies portray it. Girls are not getting snatched and taken to other countries. They are being trafficked right in their own homes and towns. Apparently my little area in Ontario is a hotbed for it. They get groomed online for months by a boyfriend and then he buys them things and then asks for a favour and before they realize it they are in a hotel room being used by countless men for a weekend and taken back home to their family. With threats against the family so they don’t tell. The presentation I went to said if you are in a hotel and see a room with a huge pile of towels outside the door, that is a flag somebody is being trafficked in that room because they are showering often between visits.

We need to open our eyes. I know that sex trafficking is real. I also think that the term is often muddied because they use it for any kind of prostitution these days. I think that people need to have accurate information regarding this issue, and I’m not convinced of that with this movie since there seems to be a link between it and the Qanon messages regarding adenochrome, wayfair, how people are most lieu trafficked, etc.

People grasping this movie and "saving our children" but refuse to help the people targeted ie: immigrants and LGBTQIA+ are part of the problem. It's just another pass for the Keyboard_Warriors to get angry at something they don't actually intend to fix when it makes them uncomfortable.

I am glad that Carlee has been found and with her family, regardless of what the situation is, or is not. To be in fear for a family member has to be one of the worst things imaginable. In the end, if she is safe - that is all that matters.

It’s primarily women and girls who are already marginalized and at risk and it’s someone they know on at least some level.

That said I know women snd children are often followed in stores. I had a weird situation where a couple of men walked in the store snd they ended up in my isle way too often to be random. It was strange. They split up snd one would walk down the aisle I was in then in another isle the other one would. This happened more than just a couple of times. I didn’t see them when I was getting ready to leave the store but saw them too often snd they seemed to be watching me but they split up they also didn’t have a cart nor did they pick up items. It was strange. I know it happens as a ring was caught in our area. I can’t imagine them wanting me as a short overweight middle aged woman at the time this happened but it was creepy. Our Sheriff has put out warnings for young women and children. I can’t hurt to be cautious. There was a ring that was taken down within the last few years here I think it was 16 people. I still wonder what happened in this lady’s case. Was there a child? Or did she just have a mental break. I’m glad she is home but because of the mention of a toddler you wonder if there was one or not anc if there was a lot more going on but at the same time she deserves her privacy.

I think it’s odd that there hasn’t been any explanation at all. Her brother was on Tik tok saying that there wasn’t enough coverage and “we know why” when in fact there was a lot of coverage. But now they just say “she was found” with no additional info? I understand if they don’t want to give details for privacy reasons but even some kind of brief explanation would be helpful, especially with peoples fears being heightened these days.

I agree - I'm not sure why he didn't think there was enough coverage - it was on the national news and the morning network news shows as well. It was pretty much the headline on the local news (in GA) the whole time she was missing. So when she was missing, there was lots of coverage and a lot of people looking for her.
I don't expect a ton of details, but it seems like since she's been back home for a while now, that some info would be released. Do you think it could have been a mental health episode and perhaps that isn't why they want to discuss...although even it if was, there is nothing wrong with just saying "it was a mental health incident". I am glad she return home and whatever is going on, I hope she's okay.
ETA after reading iluvpink's post: Wow - can't believe someone would lie and say she was his sister just to gain followers - what a sick-o!
