Well now she’s admitted she lied. 😡 I just saw the press conference - her lawyer spoke on her behalf and she admitted everything was made up and she lied about everything. Wow!
I can't help but wonder what her motivation was in all this - what was she trying to accomplish? I mean this isn't some kid making up stories, this is a 25 year old woman.

a man....i am going to go with the speculators and say there was a man and a relationship involved. love makes you do craaaazy things. I think a man is at the root of it but I also think she will blame mental illness (whether or not its the actual case). |

I read (somewhere) several days ago that she had lost her job and was hoping the sympathy for her would get the job back.
I also hope that the authorities send her a bill for the wasted time and equipment used to search for her.

I hope the poor dear gets some help. I guess this "nursing student" is going to need to make a new career choice, too.
And I'm glad they got to the bottom of it all without there being any actual child at risk.

I read (somewhere) several days ago that she had lost her job and was hoping the sympathy for her would get the job back. I believe she was actually terminated from her job after she returned and all the info came out that was leading to the fact that she made it all up. The day she went missing, she actually stole some items from her job before she left for the day (which is one reason she was fired). |

I mean, we all called this one early on. There were too many odd, huge holes in her story, and after my initial scare when I heard about it I started giving this a skeptical ear.
She's really a piece of work, and seems to be utterly narcissistic..have you seen the voluminous amount of selfies this girl posts? Good Lord.

She has been charged and arrested and posted bail ...... CNN — Carlee Russell, the Alabama woman who admitted to staging her own kidnapping and triggering a 49-hour-long search, turned herself in and has been charged with making false reports.
The 26-year-old is being charged with falsely reporting to law enforcement officers and falsely reporting an incident, both misdemeanors.
She was released on bail, Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis announced at a news conference.
“I know many are shocked and appalled that Miss Russell is only being charged with two misdemeanors, despite all the panic and disruption her actions caused,” he said.
“Let me assure you I too share the same frustration,” he went on. “But existing laws only allow the charges that were filed to be filed.”
