I was thinking that they could only be used in pocket pages, but it would be awesome to see some other ways to use them.

"Care of the North Pole" feels extremely optimistic in these times of accelerating climate change and looming permafrost catastrophe 😬
I do think the specialty card pack is one of the more interesting products shown so far. At least, it has some variety and fun to it. I love the kraft ones in the set. Her slanted handwriting ("and to all a good night") is always so much more appealing to my eye. I wish she'd use it more.

Fresh from the Gram: I don't feel any need or desire for these. I'm actually surprised these are new products. Feels very been there, done that. But I'm not an AE DD specialist!

I always feel like they use these Instagram polls to figure out which stamps no one wants and then will chose to focus on those for the classes so they will sell more.

Last year post DD frenzy I looked at my purchases and for Ali pretty much the only must have was the album.
I'm bearing that in mind this year. Other than the 4 by 6 that was just sneaked, I'm not sure there is anything I trully want to get. Maybe LT/PP but that's more fomo than anything. Since I won't want to pay the fixed shipping on such a small purchase, I'm thinking I might not get anything this year

Sigh. I added the two bundles and three stamps to my cart for Elle’s Studio. When I saw the $150 price tag, I just couldn’t do it. I still need to buy an album on top of that. I have so much stuff at home already! Printing digital supplies as I need them is looking more and more like the road I’ll be traveling down.
…or maybe I’ll just skip this year…but it’s my godson’s first Christmas. I can’t figure out what to do right now. My other option is to use whatever I’m creating for the Crop & Create Holiday album class. It’s some SS Boho Christmas line. I’m not a boho person when it comes to scrapping though. Y’all, Aunt Flo really needs to stay home when it comes time to make decisions like these!

I have so much stuff at home already! Printing digital supplies as I need them is looking more and more like the road I’ll be traveling down. The cost is why I often get digitals. Last year, I only bought an album, the Paislee Press mini-kit, and the digital of the Ali Edwards main kit. With all of the other supplies I have, it was really enough. I still have a few leftovers of the PP mini-kit. It was nice to be able to re-use / re-size elements I liked from the digital kit. This year, I would like to splurge on some specialty papers because I can't really print on vellum without making a mess, but I've already decided I'm not going to buy everything I want. I can still be creative with what I have.

Not me trying to order from Elle's Studio and forgetting yet again they no longer ship to the EU. It's fine. I liked some of the new Christmas products but didn't feel some desperate urge to have them. But I'm thoroughly amused at myself for going through the same process over and over again with ES: "Oooh, I haven't ordered at Elle's in ages. Years! I wonder why. *adds to cart* Oh, that's why. *empties cart*" Girl, you're exhausting me. 🙃

The Santa in this collection looks very kind as well. There are a bunch of banners included in the embellishments. And that lovely set of retro numbers that I'll definitely buy. I feel like all those rainbow inclusions give it a childhood vibe so maybe one to consider for your December memories after all?

I don't know what it is it about these days. We're in the midst of a major heatwave so everything is super summery at the moment but I feel super excited about DD right now. I'm buzzing with ideas for simple interactive elements and stories. I know what you mean. I always feel the excitement for Christmas as soon as the products come out. I've had such a good time with DD for the past two years, I can't wait to do it again. And yes, the super hot weather always has me wishing for the cold. Summer is my least favorite season.

I know Boho Christmas was poorly received on the board but I kind of like it. I like it as well. I bought three sheets of the paper and the washi tape. I haven't bought washi tape in ages because I have so much but I just kept going back to it. The B side of the Merriest paper is great. And I like the poinsettias on the peace love and joy paper. The whole line is very crate paper.

http://instagram.com/p/CwVDZLQMVvY I don’t see the AE DD stencils being a big seller this year, unless the team really pushes fomo. Maybe I’m unimaginative, but the text one “here for the cheer this season” is so boring. Boring font, weird spacing. Alpha stamps would do the same, with more flexibility? And the circles - are those supposed to be ornaments? They look like pokeballs.

Boho Christmas was my favorite of the paper company releases. I think it’s darling, fresh and very usable.
The speciality 4x6 journal cards is a big ole nope for me. Hate the fonts and designs. Not particularly usable.
Anyone else keep seeing the stencil/screen printed ornament Ali shared in her personal Insta? It’s been shared all over. Guys, it is literally terrible. So sloppy. I will never understand the way she happily stamps and stencils the way she does. Just a tiny bit of care would make the world of difference.

I think the silk screens will be the quick sell-out this year, esp if there is supporting tutorials/content on using them. I still have some silk screen from old AE and SC kits, will have to pull them out and play before deciding if I will actually use the new ones being offered this year…

Y'all are making me laugh - I had the same reaction re the painted ornament post. I think it fits with her mixed media stuff but not so much with Dec Daily. I am not a stencil or silk screen person, so no appeal there, but I can see other people who like that kind of thing getting into it. I am antsy to see the rest of the shop products so I can figure out what I am buying. Other than 49 & Market, Ali's stuff is still the most promising collection for me this year.

I get that she made the ornament super sized so that text/photo could be added, but I really dislike it, and since it's repeated across different products, really puts me off. It's in the small specialty pack and no just no.

It’s come full circle…when I started this project in 2010, Ali’s albums seemed very polished and mine looked hand crafted (because they were). I didn’t have access to all the tools and technology like we all do now.
And now Ali is leaning towards more artsy/crafty, while i really don’t like it for this particular project.

US Peas: has Michaels started putting the new Christmas Craft Smart/Recollections pads on the shelves already?
I bought a Craft Smart pad this summer and the paper quality is good. I was pleasantly surprised. Any US Pea struggling to find "their" collection/aesthetic this year should consider visiting their local Michaels to see if a paper pad catches their fancy. Same for the DCWV pads which seem more focused on in-store distribution in North America than online scrap retailers.

It's large, so it's not like you can sneak it in on multiple pages. I dunno. Seems not really thought out. And double yes on the Pokeball ornaments. Bleh.

I might look for some stencils on Ali Express (I assume they have some - I feel like I've seen them there before?). But I am not going to pay $$$$$ for a whole package knowing I wont use most of them.

In the topic of silk screens, let me share a dumb story. SC used to sometimes put these in kits. I got a 3x4 one in a PL kit, but I had no idea what it was for. I hadn’t discovered the message boards yet, and my online time was so minimal I never had a chance to look at galleries or whatever creative team stuff they did.
I thought it was a fabric embellishment and put it in a pocket like a journaling card. 😆
