My must haves are wood stars, plastic tags, canvas circles, and Gold tabs. I think those things are in most danger of going first (from other things I like) so I’ll quickly order those and then consider If I need more. Next up for me include the die cut paper inserts, advent calendar, 3x8 transparencies and a stamp. Not getting all of that (ok let’s me real, I probably am) 😂😂😂 What are you planning on doing with the canvas circles? I like how simple they are.....just wasn't sure how to use them. Not 100% sure but it’s the kind of embellishment I like to use and seems versatile. Ali mentioned sewing some together like a boarder. I don’t have a sewing machine but I was thinking maybe stitching a circle around them with embroidery floss to match colors of that page. I’m sure some other ideas will come to be once I am playing with my stuff and also people start sharing.

I'm definitely going to sign up for the Hybrid Product Play class for inspiration this year instead of the regular Product Play. My scrapping has gotten more and more hybrid over the years, happy to see more digital/hybrid ideas for DD.
Ali says in her IG stories today that there will be 8 contributors each making at least one video, and they will be working with the digital main kit, the digital clear sticker sheet, the digital Cheers to the Season stamp set, and the digital plastic hearts as a starting place.
I'm glad she gave the list of digital products so I don't buy the physical versions. Looking forward to this class.

Anyone else annoyed the albums had silver rings when they had gold on the albums? For some reason that really bugged me. Yes! It bugged me too. I think once I get pages and color in there, I won’t notice it. That’s what I’m hoping at least. 🤞🏻

I keep seeing people mention that their albums are on shelves…Is that what everyone does? Do you clear out a bookshelf and bring them out in December? Or are they permanently on a shelf in a family room? Just curious how that works for everyone, especially if you have a few years’ worth.

Or are they permanently on a shelf in a family room? I keep mine on a bookshelf with our books. When my DH and I moved in together I did a massive purge of my book collection, getting rid of anything I was unlikely to read again. I'm now almost exclusively an e-reader so I've done additional purges since then. My DD albums take up less than two shelves, and I have 14 albums completed. I can realistically fit another three or four albums before I'll need to move to another shelf, and I still have some space on my bookshelves, I just need to rearrange things.

I’ve only done a dedicated small album for DD the last two years, and yeah, they are on a shelf. So far nobody’s interested in looking at them. 😂 My kids are more interested in old albums, so they pull out old PL albums and go over the December sections every year. I figure the DD albums will get more attention in the future once those events aren’t so fresh. While I would love to put them out of the way, like packed with Christmas decorations, it’s not a good idea with our climate. Our Christmas stuff is in bins in the garage and the temperatures would be pretty brutal. If I could find a good out-of-the-way storage place inside to put them I will do that some day. For now two isn’t a big deal. I would need them to be able to stand upright in storage though, since images warp so easily laying flat. And most pages are not in pp.

Finished looking through 14 Dec Daily albums (not all finished) and 2 large ikea bins of DD supplies. I did a good job last year of culling, but will definitely need to go back through and toss or give away more stuff. That said, I saw things I can use to complement new stuff but not enough cohesive content to make me happy or content. Feeling good about investing in new main kit + some extras. Definitely don’t need any letter or word stickers . Any advice from other long timer on destashing? Part of my problem is I do legit use things from the past but also realize I’ve got to remove some of the clutter.

I keep seeing people mention that their albums are on shelves…Is that what everyone does? I keep mine in a big plastic lidded tub in the basement. 10 fit inside there. Our basement is unfinished but dry and we keep a dehumidifier running so I've never had an issue. We have a small house and just don't have room.

When I get out my Christmas decor then I will put the larger albums on a bookshelf in the Den and the smaller (homemade) albums in a basket on the fireplace.

If I have something in my stash and haven't used any of it (like, an embellishment pack) in the past 2-3 years, I probably wont use it going forward. So out it goes. I know I very rarely use anything with blue - so I can weed that out as well. I scrap in a very clean and simple style, so anything frilly gets the boot. I also know 'me' enough to know I usually use hearts and stars at Christmas so I won't get rid of those. I think my biggest advice is just be real about why you haven't used a product and think about your scrappy style. If it goes against what your style usually is, the chances of you actually using it is slim. I also have the mindset that if I get rid of things that I most likely wont use gives me more space for the things I will use!

I have those IKEA shelves that hold 12x12 albums in my bedroom on one wall, so I put all my albums on there. They're organized by PL, then other albums, and DD has their own spot because I have so many. Originally, they were in my room for safekeeping when the kids were little, now the kids know they can just take them off the shelf - CAREFULLY - and go through them. My PL started January 2012 and when the kids were little, I had 4 albums per year. As they got older, I could fit it into 2 or 3. It's a lot of space to be taken up, but I worked so hard on the albums, I can't box them up. Obviously, I would if space became an issue. I have DD for every year since 2010 and they're a favorite, so they stay out all year. Again, if space were an issue, I could see boxing them up and busting them out at Christmas. Man, it would save me some dusting.

I think I am going to try to make this a to do over the next few weeks and probably try to tackle both DD stuff and some of my PL stuff. I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed with my stash so I know its time to purge. One more Q - what do you all do with stash you no longer plan to use? I like doing RAKs but I will probably have a fair amount that will end up costing $10+ to ship to someone. I really don't want to spend more than $5 per RAK to send to some folks but I do love the idea of sharing this stuff with people who can and will use it. I am in DFW area and would love to donate somewhere but every time I ask on FB I don't really get a good answer. Thx!

If you have stuff to RAK that is very specific to DD like a partial left-over main kit/mini kit from a past AE DD release, don't hesitate to post and ask for shipping to the person wanting it. Some DD-ers still regret not purchasing a specific kit back then and will gladly send you the money to have it sent to their home. Otherwise, keep it light and arrange your RAKs to be low in weight and super usable (a mix of 3x4 + 4x6 cards and embellishments). The rest will likely need to join the donate bin. I've seen US Peas discuss donating scrapbook goodies to schools and local places that have arts and craft classes. Maybe some Peas in your local-ish area can help you figure out where to drop things off? Christmas goodiese would work perfectly for places where cards are made (like senior centres)?

Question: is there any advantage of silkscreen over stencils? I always struggle to use paint with stencils, I find that it bleeds through too much. Stencils work well with inks or if you want a messy look (such as if you're using gelli plates). Silk screens get a cleaner print with paint. I agree it's a little annoying to have to clean them, and they start to curl after a bit, but realistically how many times will you use one? Especially then larger sentiments. I could see using it for a really nice feature on one spread, but that would be in for that entire album. I've never used a silk screen enough times that I feel like it has been "used up." I'm excited to use the ones this year. I keep seeing people mention that their albums are on shelves…Is that what everyone does? Do you clear out a bookshelf and bring them out in December? Or are they permanently on a shelf in a family room? Just curious how that works for everyone, especially if you have a few years’ worth. I had mine on a shelf in my closet most of the year and then pulled them out in November - December and put them on a shelf in the living room. However, last year I never put them away so they've been out there all year, ha. I like having them on display with the rest of my albums, but I have a lot of space for that. If you don't, maybe rotate them with another album set for the holiday season? I've considering swapping out my WITL albums for my DD albums for those two months so they could share a spot on the shelves. The albums that weren't out would go in a plastic bin in the basement or closet.

I keep mine out all year in my office and almost all of my other albums are elsewhere in the house. I think because they are all 6x8 or smaller and only one per year, I just kind of LOVE having them in here. It feels like a reminder of my passion for memory keeping + me actually sticking with a project for 14+ years and my office has muted green walls, and black and white Ikea furniture so the colors of the albums actually look really good in here. I think in another year I will have completely filled up 2 shelves and will need to start another shelf in my office.

I have permanent space for all my albums. 12x12 are on a 13” deep shelf. It fits 14 albums on one shelf, I just remove the decorative items and books as my collection grows. Originally I used 5 different color albums, but now I’m switching to all grey and black for cohesiveness. My smaller albums are on a narrower shelving unit under the TV. It is getting precariously full and the 8x10 albums stick out. Not sure what I’m going to do with those.

I sell my unwanted AE items in a FB group. Generally items sell pretty fast. I price them low, buyer covers shipping which is a big deal as AE stuff is getting bigger. I’ve tried doing RAKs but going to the post office doesn’t work well for me. I need to run everything through PayPal for printing labels and shipping. If it doesn’t sell, it gets donated.

We're creative that way But if you clear out things that aren't inspiring you any more you probably won't even remember them by the next time you do DD. It will be a lot easier to see the cool things you have and make use of them. I would pick out the things that still feel exciting and lovely and prioritize those, set aside anything that makes you feel ugh/sigh for donation/RAK or trash (some small paper leftovers are trash). There might be some stuff in the middle that you really have to think about - is it the kind of stuff you want to like but never actually use? is it good basic colors or kind of tricky to match? You might want to create a last chance box/bag that you destash after this year if you don't use it.

I have a bookshelf in the living room that holds journals and albums (like Chinagirl828 we don't have a lot of paper books any more so I fill our built-ins with books I've made). I switch out the general ones with the Christmas books around Thanksgiving. I keep the Christmas ones in a basket in the top of my closet during the year. My books are small and fit nicely into a basket I can lift, and I'd like to keep it that way. I like to have them moderately accessible because I sometimes refer to them out of season, but I enjoy pulling them out as I get ready for Christmas. I check them to remember what gifts we gave or how we strung the lights or when the community caroling event was

Texas Scrap I store a lot of my supplies in collections/kits. So when I’m destashing if I still like the product I will see if there is a collection it goes well with and store it with the other items in the collection. That way it is front and center at a time I’d be more likely to use it/need it. I’d check with schools, churches, nursing facilities, etc. even any teachers you might know to donate it. We also have a charity store in San Antonio that takes donations of art supplies and resells them, I wouldn’t be surprised if DFW does as well.

I am still super indecisive on what I want to purchase for my album this year. I keep going back, and forth between buying Ali’s kit, or going a different route. I completely convince myself one way, and then a little while later I change it again. I don’t know why I can’t commit😂

I don’t know why I can’t commit😂 Usually when I can't commit its because I'm having subconscious doubts or misgivings. I'll get swept up with other people's enthusiasm but a quiet little voice in my gut is saying, yeah, no, you don't really want to do that... Or with this project it can be that it's just too far out. I don't know what I'll want to play with in 3-4 months! Good luck deciding
