Margie Do you think these 1mm magnets from AliExpress would do the trick for paper inserts/small envelopes? I've had them on my list for some time but haven't dared purchasing them yet. Wow, those are super tiny! I ordered the Amazon magnets, but for that price it might be worth it to check them out. Thank you...you're so good at finding goodies on AliExpress!!

I keep going back to the AE tag stamp set...I really like it but can't convince myself that I will actually use it!

RE: Hallmark and snow. I'll never forget the snow blankets during one of Lacey's movies from a few years back. I think it was pride prejudice and mistletoe? If that's the one with the mayor that couldn't have been older than 30 then it's it There's a few scenes where they're talking about how the snow is piled so high or something and you see the blankets then the camera changes and the other side of the street has literally no snow

The large spine Hickory album by Simple Stories I ordered earlier this summer for DD is shown properly in here for those interested. The rings are 2 in and the spine around 3. Fastfoward to the 06:45 mark to see in-depth focus on the album pre-decorating. Tagging dawnnikol who is interested in this DD album alternative, I believe. Thank you! It's in my cart!

Ali posted a YouTube video showing her process for making shaker tags out of the Advent calendar numbers. I didn't order the calendar, but I do have a suggestion for making the sewing a bit neater, if that's your jam. Sew around the circle very slowly (leaving open about an inch to fill the pocket) and make sure you leave a few inches of thread left on each end. Then on the bottom, pull out the top thread with a pin and tie a knot on the bottom. After you've filled the circle, start and end sewing close to the original sewn line. Then, pull the front thread to the back again and knot. I hope that makes sense.

I laugh and forget those, I must just remember the ones with real snow better, the ones with actors seeing their breath. The ones actually filmed in winter.
So many Hallmark movies are filmed in Canada, I am always checking out where they filmed.

Last year I watched one where one of the characters was shoveling snow. Only it wasn't snow. It was like wet slush. And hardly any of it. No one would be shoveling that. It's ridiculous. Also the road and the driveway were totally clear -- obviously no snow had been shoveled there. They had just put fake snow of some kind on the grass and on that walk.

Hallmark vs strike news: Way more movies than the first bunch we've already read about have been filmed. Since they almost exclusively film in Canada with many Canadian actors, they don't seem to have been too affected by the strike. Also, they operate more independently from the big movie studios that the unions are striking against, are open to writers they've never worked with before submitting scripts, including writers from completely different movie/TV genres, and have already managed to score an exemption to continue filming their popular When Calls the Heart series. Countdown to Christmas should start on October 20 this year. If this start date is confirmed later this month, I think we're looking at a pretty full roster. I need my Hallmark to make it through the depressing autumn-winter season! If they needed real snow, which I assume for most of the Christmas movies, they would, they had to have been filmed last winter, long before the strike. It will start to impact after Christmas, like Valentine’s Day or the spring movies. I have heard that the strike has been impacting here in Canada. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t. The year we were in Vancouver, BC we saw an Xmas movie being filmed on the streets. It was July. Holiday decor and some fake snow is all they needed! 😁

Pam Baldwin's "Paper Play" is up on Ali's blog, and UGH she's making me want to order stamps that I had no desire to until I saw what she did with them. Pam always knocks it out of the park, and this blog post was no different. I love what she did with the wreath and the Christmas trees. But they really should have called it "Stamp Play" not "Paper Play.""

Me too loves her stamping play videos. Actually I have 3 sets in my cart: the numbers, the tree ( she is a wizard, so many great ideas ) and the sentiments sets will be hop into my box. Because of her videos I decided against the tag stamp ( although I really wanted it at the start of the boxing period) and now I’m thinking about the wreath stamp decisions decisions 😎

Dammit Pam! I love that.
But I think I'm going to take her advice and buy the digitals and make them on my silhouette. I am too lazy to hand cut all of those trees.
I want that wreath stamp too.

Pam did incredibly well making so many creative out-of-box ideas with the tree stamp. Her imagination is fantastic.
But if I was going to recreate the projects she did I would be looking for tree dies instead.

Pam should get a raise, so many great ideas! I wonder how many more tree stamps were sold since Friday? I just went through my stamps to see how many background ones I had. I really dislike Alis scribble pattern for the biggest tree stamp. I found a polka dot and a few others in my stash, so I think I’ll save $30 and use what I have with Pams ideas. And now I feel less guilty buying the 2 other stamp sets from Ali. Lol

I bought both the Paislee Press and the tab set. Another pea had pointed out the tab set being useful past the holidays, and I totally agree. It has “hit the road”, “memories”, “remember”, “love”…so many year round sentiments.

The non-Christmasy elements of the set (the blank tree outlines) are pretty versatile, I can use them for other occasions and times of the year. My plan is to use my scan and cut, because I don't have the time or patience to be fussy-cutting them. Still pondering the tag set....decisions, decisions. And here I was thinking I wouldn't buy DD supplies this year at all.

But there is no way I’m hand cutting trees. She needs to make dies for her stamps.

You can just use a basic Christmas tree die and since the shape is cut out, you can easy any large enough filler stamp on top (or repeat stamp a December sentiment on paper which you then cut out with the tree die). This is totally hackable with shop-your-own-stash for most DD-ers, I think. Anyway, very, very cute LO from Pam! I'm thinking of replicating the half-cut + stitched technique with a star or heart shape myself.

I really enjoyed Pam’s ideas using the tree stamp. I pulled out my Christmas supplies and I have enough tree stamps(with matching dies) to replicate what she did without purchasing that stamp set. Saved myself some money…

I just had to try this with a Sakura Quickie Glue Pen and it works! I definitely need to play around with it to nail down how much glue to use/how long it needs to dry. But a bit of practice and this'll be a nice little accent! Do you let the glue dry and then run it through the laminator? I let the glue dry but I did not use a laminate at all. I am using Deco Foil which can be used with adhesives. I think the trick is going to be to let the glue dry to a tacky stage before putting the foil on it. If you put the foil on it right after using the glue pen, the glue spreads.

Anyone with a tight budget might want to check out this out. Spellbinder's fire sale was supposed to end yesterday but the price still seems good at $20 for a whole kit of goodies including dies and stamp set. While geared towards card making, I think it's totally usable for December scrapping.

I don't think there would be a better way to do an entire DD for $20.
