Do I really want a December Daily tshirt in the OG font? I mean yes, I really do. But it would require a separate load of washing, just not sure I have it in me.

If that Joy to the World sweatshirt wasn’t beige I would snap it up. Beige is not for me.
They should do a DD zoom where everyone wears their merch. It would be like some sort of red shirt cult lol.

I know we typically talk about advent calendars in this thread (because we love to document them). So here goes, I am at a loss with a calendar to get my teen. Last year we got her a popcorn one and it was great. But 12/24 of the days were seasonings and we still have most of those in the kitchen.
She's not into makeup. She's not into the Lego ones that are out. Too old for Playmobil (although at 48 I'm not). Doesn't care that much for tea. We share the Aldi cheese one. Too young for booze. Too cheap for Tiffany's (ha, too poor). She already has 74 pairs of socks (why did she count them? I don't know).
Maybe The Office Funko pop but my goodness we still have the Harry Potter ones all over the house.
I do a DIY one for her every year with stuff from Target and AliExPress (and candy). I'm just not ready to give up on one I can buy.

Is she into puzzles, or escape rooms? We got this advent calendar for this year: EXIT: The Game - Escape Room Advent CalendarIt's a puzzle every day that you can play alone or together to solve the big puzzle, escape room-style. I haven't tried it before but heard it was fun and teen DS is at least a little excited about it.

I'm so glad I watched Jennifer McGuire's Spellbinders 2023 CRAFTY ADVENT CALENDAR reveal. The products are nice, but they seem geared more toward card making than scrapbooking, so that wouldn't be for me. But if you're a card maker, I think it would be totally worth it. Does anyone know if she's using craft foam with the die cuts? They seem thicker than cardstock.

It's just enough jammy spread for 2 people to have toast. I was able to give away all the tiny little jars to creative people who wanted to make stuff with them so there was no clutter accumulation. It's $40ish. I'm not sure if that's cheap or expensive for an advent calendar. Otherwise, good old fashioned chocolate? ETA: this guide from last year might be a good place to start looking at brands www.townandcountrymag.com/leisure/dining/g23596151/chocolate-advent-calendars/

I haven't watched but as a rule she glues 2-5 layers of die cuts together, using scrap cs for the ones that aren't seen, to make them more sturdy without the fuss or uneveness of foam tape.

This is a great idea. We got one of those games last year but didn't use it as an advent calendar. We had a lot of fun with it. You know, I think this is probably the way to go. She really loves jam. If we had room, we'd buy her one of those puzzle advent calendars. It's a puzzle a day but then they all link together to be one big scene. We got one for my MIL from Uncommon Goods last year and she really enjoyed it. Here for any and all ideas!

Maybe The Office Funko pop but my goodness we still have the Harry Potter ones all over the house. We have a ton of those tiny Funko Pop figures from Advent Calendars, DH uses a tiny drill bit and then a hook and we put them on our mini trees. We have a Disney tree, HP tree, and a Marvel tree. This year we have 1 - undecided, probably chocolate 2 - the tween wants this to use: Doorables and 3 - DS wants the Marvel Lego. I had the Disney one from last year which is still available. Based on the offerings this year, I'll probably skip my own and DH will get chocolate. Searching on Amazon had some stuff, but lots of junk... I think the jam one might be the best choice, I've only ever heard good things about it!

I did something a little crazy and careless. I just ordered a bunch of Lora Bailora Christmas collections (Postcards and Volver) to use in my DD this year. Not sure how it will flowe with all the Ali stuff I bought but I don’t really care. Lora’s designs are absolute perfection for me.

Postcards was a holiday line from last year, I believe. I think her 2023 collection hasn’t been released yet. Frank Garcia usually carries some Lora Bailora products, and will often do preorders for new collections. I don’t need anymore Christmas supplies, but am curious to see her 2023 collection Edited to say that I think Postcards would work really well with the Paislee Press kit

Disclaimer: I’ll be honest, I’m shopping emotionally right now. I have a horrible headache, and I’m anxious about meeting with a surgeon this afternoon.
I finally watched the full video of the advent kit. $44 is a chunk of money but I’m toying with buying it. I like what I saw. The only thing that bugs me is the alpha with one of each letter. Home many words can you spell like that? Five because of vowels. But if that’s all that bugs me, I think I’ll survive.
I bought the 6x8 green floral album. I adore that pattern. I really want to buy the envelopes too. However, the green envelope is 4.5” x 7.5”. That’s going to stick out the side, isn’t it? I’ve never had one of her albums before so I don’t know how much extra space there is. Could I trim the holes, turn it vertical, and use some of the gold attached stickers to put it in?
Should I wait to make these purchases until I’m less emotional? I’m even toying with buying the main kit and I’m already going to be putting together a whole dang album during Crop & Create. I don’t need the main kit! Right?

I bought the calendar the last two years, and I'm irritated that it's gone from nice kraft envelopes for each day (the first year) to plastic with a card insert showing the number. I'm still tempted though, and I hope they sell out soon so I don't have to think about it. I don't always like Ali's DD stuff, but I really like this year's. I'm taking Paige Evans' DD album class later this month, which will include products for the entire album, but I went ahead and purchased Ali's main kit to use next year. I say if you really love it, go ahead a buy it!

I’m shopping emotionally right now. I do this too. I've decided it's healthy. I like getting mail and I love making stuff. Paper doesn't expire. Don't put the kit in your cart yet. It's not even saying low quantities so you have some time to sit on it. If you need it, you still have time to add it. Advent calendar update: Thanks for all the tips. I went with the jam one and I think it will be great. I hate that she's grown out of all the fun kid ones. Those were good times. But I will enjoy this jam as well. We always split the Aldi cheese calendar so it will be cool to see what pairs well with that.

You can definitely use the green floral envelope in a 6x8 album by punching holes or using an attacher on the vertical side, and then you can put ribbon or other trim in the original holes to make a bow, etc. Ali did this with one of the envelopes last year. Good luck with your surgery consult! 🌹

I don’t need the main kit! Right? I bought the advent calendar. I figured besides all the stickers I would use the numbers punched out and the joy envelope they come in. For the red letters, I planned a couple words I could do and I figured with extras I can combine with other letters I own for a casual mixed look and also another way is to use in a way like B (if a b if leftover) is for baking … etc and have a story with some letters like that. Or on tags or something. Or I won’t do that at all but it helped me justify the purchase! Lol

I might get that spice one for my husband. We got him the hot sauce one from Aldi last year and it was a big hit. Every year we make him a beer one. I bought mailing boxes the size of beer cans and taped them all together. Then we go to the store and buy 24 IPAs. So fun.

PSA There are only three Paislee Press mini kits left on Ali's site. If you are on the fence you'd better make up your mind quickly.
Actually it's jumping between saying 'last one', 'only three left', and 'final few', each time I refresh the page. Don't know what's going on there.
