It's hard to judge just seeing the spines. The green floral and the white with stars could be pretty. I'll be the outlier, I hope the green floral is 8x10. I'll be all over it. lol |

I like that green album! I'm tempted to go all in on Ali's products this year. I have not been very successful on my own with this project even with a kit using a Simple Stories collection (which I love) and instructions to create pages ahead of time. I would enjoy having all the inspiration that's available for Ali's products. I know having lots of inspiration like that has worked really well for me in the past. It will probably help that I've finally got my craftroom useable after the move two years ago! I should be able to set myself up with the project so I can come in here and work on it frequently during December.
Does anyone have a routine when they sit down for December Daily? Make a mug of hot cocoa for while you are working or something?

As much as I love the green album this year, I got the floral album last year and it feels like it’ll be a lot of sameness on my shelf. Thinking about the white one with stars — I haven’t used a white album since…2015? Or whenever that KP one came out with the rainbow sequins.

I have a few in my ACOT cart. I might go with the Paige Evan’s but I went floral last year. Not that it’s ever mattered but I’m just not feeling anything.
I kinda want a solid pink album with a 3” spine. 6x8. Know of any?
And how does the spine of the scrapbook.com 6x8 velvet albums compare to Ali’s?
I might go with the green or red velvet if the spine is big.

I read this twice thinking you were calling yourself a 'DD Bimbo'. ROFL I also didn't not call myself a DD bimbo, jussayin'...  I am really thinking that 1 photo a day + some simple journaling would be good this year - much like she used to do in the early days, using something like these overlays. Gosh, I still absolutely love these templates/overlays. Minimalism all the way, m'darling! It makes the extras you do decide to add pop so beautifully, too. Timeless, chic and always just right. I say go for it! 👍 Has anyone ever printed all your DD photos in black and white? I have always done my albums in tradition Christmas colors. I’m thinking something more pastel this year but not sure I would like my photos with softer colors. I feel like it was last year someone asked exactly the same question re: DD and I recommended to not go all 100% B&W. You'll regret taking all the colour out of a full month's worth of memories just for the paper products in the long run, especially for a time of the year that is so cheerful (while combatting the dreaded dreary winter weather). But why not find a happy compromise? Some B&W, some colour? Maybe play around and edit your photos so they are a little lighter and more luminous to fit your pastel Christmas collection? In 2021, I used Doodlebug's Let It Snow and Shimelle's Glitter Girl collections. I posted all of the layouts in order on my Instagram if you would like to see it. It starts with this title page: That is simply gorgeous! I love how you incorporated pink and lilac into this although the die cuts had traditional colours. Beautiful blending job, too. I go all in when working on DD (anything DD: writing prompts, editing photos, typing out my journaling, crafting). I set the mood and I find it really helps. A warm beverage (hot cocoa, Viennese coffee, gluhwein, tea - whatever treat I'm into that day), a silly Hallmark Christmas romance or other seasonal movie in the background (or Christmas music), turning on the Christmas lights, etc. If you're into scented candles, this is great to add to your ritual as well. I make sure all my senses are occupied with the festive season.  I haven’t used a white album since…2015? Or whenever that KP one came out with the rainbow sequins. Yes, 2015! The glorious year for us mini kit lovers. Kelly Purkey and Jasmine Jones and Ashley Goldberg (gah, how I wish we'd get another graphic black & white-heavy kit) and Peppermint Granberg. *nostalgic sigh* I kinda want a solid pink album with a 3” spine. 6x8. I believe it was jeremysgirl who ordered the green one last year and confirmed in the DD thread it wasn't the large spine + rings you'll get from AE, the SS holiday binder, etc. |

6x8 large spine DD alternative alert: the Hickory binder from Simple Stories (Color Vibe collection). I've just ordered this one for myself and will confirm once it's in my hands that it is their usual large spine + rings album but definitely one to keep in mind if, like me, you like simple, versatile designs (hardware is silver + interior is a grid design on white background):  Priced at approx. US$ 22 so very reasonable (and available from major retailers like SB.com so yay for affordable shipping). |

Yes blemon sleepingbooty was correct. I did order the green velvet album last year. However I scrap very simple so I don't have all the lumps and bumps, or interactive elements or anything like that. So for me, the velvet album was the perfect size. |

I usually have either Christmas movies or music playing while I work on my album, and I find it helps. It took me a little longer last year to finish my album than usual and having Hallmark movies playing really helped me stay motivated. |

Another part of me says to make this part of my regular, annual 12x12 album so the whole year is together and I don't have the added need to store a separate small album. Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, or have you seen an example of this that you could point me to? This is how I am now documenting my December memories. Everything goes into my yearly album, and I do a variety of layouts and pocket pages. I choose two different collections to use for the whole month of December so everything seems cohesive and alternate between full 12x12 layouts and a pocket page of some sort. I also add smaller pages (6x8, 9x12, whatever I feel like creating) throughout to capture the little things as well. In 2021, I used Doodlebug's Let It Snow and Shimelle's Glitter Girl collections. I wonder how many people want the stuff that's in the album. I think that some of those pages are cute but I'd prefer a lower price point so that I can just buy the other papers that I like. |

I just noticed that the Scrapbook dot com albums are on sale today. I needed an album for something else, and even the velvet ones are on sale if anyone is considering one of those this year. The 6x8 red velvet is normally $30, on sale now for $18.  |

Paige Evans also just posted a story to her Insta with that gorgeous album all chonked out with so much pom pom trim and bits all over the place. I am here for that. The class is sold out (with the kit) but I may sign up for a virtual class if she does one. For the Halloween one there is a virtual only option (for $40). I don't usually go so over the top with color but she does some cool stuff and I'm sure I would learn a lot. I also bought those trees to embroider and that will be so fun in November. I need to stop playing so much Candy Crush while I watch TV. I should use my hands and brain for more productivity.

I think there’s such an excessive over abundance of Christmas merchandise available at every retailer under the sun that I will never have any need or desire to shop for “lifestyle” items at AE. |
