I've got photos printed until today, need to get them in the album but it's all planned out. We have multiple things happening each day at the moment so even though I don't feel the need to have each thing on the right day, I'm finding I have to do extra pages just to get it all in! Yesterday we saw Santa, went to friends for dinner, and went to see the Christmas lights. Today we have a Christmas party and I'm prepping for tomorrow's party and special Christmas service. Anyone else struggling to fit it all in?!

Anyone else struggling to fit it all in?! I had 4 stories from this weekend. So I did one page/layout for each story. Nothing happened Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday so it all worked out. I didn't even put the things in order in the album because I didn't want two pocket pages together. I am not going to remember by February when things happened so it won't matter for the long haul either.

Anyone else struggling to fit it all in?! Previous years, this is when I would use pocket pages. Either 2 4x6 or 4 3x4 pockets. I would do 3 photos and one for journaling. For the 2 4x6, I would print 3 3x4s and then make a 3x4 card for journaling. Worked out well.

Since I document the same stuff in the kids yearly pocket pages, I don't fret over including everything.

I definitely have had days or weekends like that (and I do have a stupid psychological need to include all the things, and ideally keep it in the proper order). But I would just go ahead and enjoy the wonderful full holiday season you're having Do what makes you happy with your album whether it's grouping a bunch of events onto one page, maybe about it being a crazy day! or just keep making a page for each thing and trust that there will probably be some slow days at some point.

My friend came over to watch the Hallmark Norwegian Christmas romance. We enjoyed it. I could understand a tiny bit of the Norwegian, which was fun, and we laughed at the inclusion of the classic weird Norwegian foods. I could really go for some brunost (brown cheese) right now! There's a creator on IG who looks at knitting on TV and assesses whether the actor has ever picked up needles before in their life. She would've judged this movie harshly >.<

I'm like a week behind in stories and I need to go back and fill in with the easy ones (books, Hallmark, etc) but you guys I GOT A DISHWASHER YESTERDAY and it'll probably be my top story of the month Christmas gift from my mom because I haven't had a working one in like 5 or 6 years. As an aside -- never ever in your entire life buy a Samsung appliance of any kind. - love Jenna, and her entire kitchen that still consists of an oven that doesn't want to reach temp and the worst refrigerator known to man that doesn't make ice and randomly freezes whenever it wants. Today was rough and I was upset about either not having a story or having another one where it's really just me brain dumping but did it turn up because I'm a full ass adult who made the most beautiful pigs in a blanket for dinner? Yes. Doubly beautiful because they were made in my now broken again oven (after getting fixed a few months ago, see the previous sentiment about never ever buying Samsung appliances 🙃) and while it may have never reached temperature, cooking them almost twice as long gave me the most perfect golden brown on the dough. Sharing for reasons lol I mean look at'em! 😂😂 Also I think I made a mistake by trying to go 4x4 I've only got 7 or 8 things in there but because I have a tendency to stack dimensional bits in the same spaces on a page it's definitely unintentionally made it thicker. So I've tried going back to move puffies and alphas around but it doesn't look right! 😂

I'm on the struggle bus right now with the Elle's Studio collection. I can't seem to make it work, I keep going back to my stash because I'm not happy with anything. That's what I get for buying on impulse. I'm thinking I'll pick up some extras from the Echo Park Christmas Time collections, seems like it will go well with the stuff I have. Shoutout to sleepingbooty for putting together the thread will all the Christmas collections, it's been a real timesaver.

We're watching Krampus vs Santa (and various elves) wrestling matches tonight... Should be fun! Like in real life? I need to move. I'm a full ass adult who made the most beautiful pigs in a blanket for dinner? Gorgeous! These are one of my favorite foods. But when I make them they never look that nice. Today I went to the post office. Woot! Had some important stuff to ship out. And the winter wonderland stamps are adorable. I worked on some pages. Finished up Day 4 (I had been waiting on the kid to do her journaling). I also finished up the front of my table of contents page as we are halfway through! I am still working on filling in Page 6 with the ephemera. I'm done with page 12 and working on 11 (photos printed, just need to stick them on the things and put them in the pocket). Day 13 will be about a trip I took last week with my boss. It was a good work day and I want to document it. I'm really loving the work I am doing right now. After that I don't know. But I decided I will copy Nolana's page. She didn't add any photos to the little flip outs -- just kept the journaling. So maybe I will do some journaling and that will be the day. I usually feel like writing on the solstice.

I took a lot, but it was on a dark street corner so they're not the best. But it was really fun. We didn't really know what to expect, but it was really silly fun.

I've been following along with this thread, but keep forgetting to post my own updates! My album is completed through day 13, and I've shared through day 9. I am sharing on instagram + youtube this year, here's my latest process video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IB1f5Q-7c0I also have plans to probably "catch up" this afternoon. Day 14 has a foundation page so it will be very simple, it has an ornament pocket per family member and I'm thinking of having each one answer the question "bringing you comfort this season." Day 15 I went to brunch & to walk around shops with a friend, so I'm going to document that. Day 16 we baked Christmas cookies. For day 17, I don't know my story yet, but I probably won't put that one together today. I have an idea for a page design but no story yet. I also have a few basic stories that could go on any day left to fit in, so it might be one of those. We'll see! I am not much into the Hallmark movies, but I did watch Round and Round because I love time loop movies and I am also Jewish (although I do Christmas for the vibes). It was okay, but I have to say it was very stereotypical and kind of mocking of Jewish people with the stereotypes... I feel like that wouldn't fly for some other minority groups. So wasn't super thrilled with that as a Jew from New York. On Christmas Eve, we're planning on watching "It's A Wonderful Knife" and I'm pretty excited about that movie... anyone else watch that here? As far as reading, I just started a holiday romance last night "A Winter in New York" and I'm also working on a Christmas themed puzzle, so really trying to soak up all the feels. This year hasn't felt super festive, between drama with my daughter (just went through a break-up, she's been sick, she didn't do well first semester at college, etc.) and lots of work stress, but I'm focusing on finding small joys and keeping up with this project is itself bringing cheer to my season.

I did it! I finally started my Christmas album! I managed to get three pages done before I had to get ready for DH’s work Christmas party. I did remember to get a photo in front of the tree there too. I decided to forgo matching events to day numbers. My first photo didn’t happen until the 8th but it felt good to start off right away with it being out of order. I’ve never done it like that. I’m just going to date the pictures. That little detail has me all fine with being out of order. Phew!
I even managed to print some additional photos to work on today. This is the first real scrapbooking I’ve done since brain surgery on Halloween. All on my own and feeling creative finally. Another surgery is scheduled for tomorrow but it’s just to reposition the shunt in my nomenclature so hopefully it won’t take away my mojo.
Thank you to everyone who offered words of support about starting so late. Having zero creative desire staring me in the face was hard. I kept reminding myself that others hav been in this boat and still finished. Thank you.

Ugh, that’s a bummer! Sorry to hear that your daughter is having a rough time of it. I’m glad to hear that DD is helping with the seasonal cheer. I missed Round and Round but sounds like it’s not worth a watch. The Hanukkah movies on Hallmark have been pretty hit or miss. Not planning to watch Its a Wonderful Knife (let us know how that goes) but I just heard there’s a Norwegian Netflix movie Christmas As Usual. I’m going to try and watch that this weekend.

My Covid-19 booster knocked me out, ladies. I was fine for the first 15-ish hours and then I was out of it. Oof. This one definitely belongs on the naughty list. I had to take a day off work. Has anyone else felt it roughly with the latest one (monovalent Omicron XBB.1.5 from Pfizer, I believe)? I've never had such a bad case of the vaccine headache and it lasted over 24h. But this time around, my arm is feeling great! Not even a tiny bruise. Like nothing happened. Go figure. So, still catching up on the prompts so here we go... December 10: AT MY FEETToday, we look down to focus on a detail of this special month. Which piece of the December puzzle can you see hidden on the floor or on the ground? Is it a loyal pet following you around the house? Did you buy yourself a new pair of slippers for the holidays? Is it snowing outside? Story prompt | Capture a seasonal action happening down low that is often omitted from traditional December documenting to tell a story. Think of changing out your tyres or putting the chains on because it has started snowing and freezing outside, doing a big house clean before your family reunites in your home with the vacuum and/or the mop, grocery bags filled with Christmas dinner ingredients lined up in the kitchen, the kids playing on the floor with their Advent calendar toys, etc. Creative prompt | Think horizontal to underline the ground/floor photos: use horizontal paper strips, write the story out on journaling strips and/or create a trail of embellishments along the bottom border. Song of the day:

sleepingbooty this was the first time for any of the doses I had very mild symptoms. I received Moderna's again (last year was my first with them due to Pfizer allergy). Anyways light chills for about 2 hours, sore clavicle and shoulder for a day then a few days later rhe swollen lymph nodes. Still have those so if they haven't gone down by start of January, I will get u/s again. Previously I would have high fevers, body aches and chills, upset stomach, bone pain, etc.

I'm sorry to hear this. I thought it was actually pretty light on anything Hanukkah or Jewish, personally. Nothing in it was mocking te Jewish culture, I feel. The writer for Round and Round is Tamar Laddy, a Jewish writer from New Jersey. I feel like I've seen significantly harsher takes on cultural stereotypes in other current Christmas productions (grinding my teeth through Netflix's I Hate Christmas, the Italian adaptation of the Norwegian Home for Christmas series) but I could be wrong. If it's any consolation, the French were portrayed almost exclusively as grumpy, tourist-hating, prankster, shin-kicking people (no, seriously, the poor male American lead kept getting kicked in the shins by French children in this one) in Hallmark's Joyeux Noël. Thank the Hallmark gods these two Americans managed to laugh through it all and even make 2 French people fall in love! USA, Europe's eternal savour. If it helps, the reviewer for NPR really enjoyed it. And amateur critic Howard for Film who's usually pretty unforgiving actually praised that Laddy "[steered] clear of creating stereotypically Jewish characters." ( x) Decider also raves about it. I know this won't change how you personally feel about it but it's been greatly received overall and not at the expense of Jewish people. Phew! Yay! You've really been through it this year so I commend you for even attempting this big project. Many of us are either not finished by January or simply begin the actual creative work in the new year. Fear not! I'm glad you got the first photo down and I hope you'll slowly but surely feel your scrappy brain awaken and sparkle with creativity again. You got this! Our town has the best Krampus troupe. Spoiler alert: Team Naughty vs Team Nice ended in a draw. Everybody wins. STAHP. You live in the funnest Christmas area, I swear. All these original and cool things happening. The jealousy over here is real. Invite me next year? For the Hallmark and Dog loving peas here: Aawww! I'm thinking I'll pick up some extras from the Echo Park Christmas Time collections, seems like it will go well with the stuff I have. Shoutout to sleepingbooty for putting together the thread will all the Christmas collections, it's been a real timesaver. Oh no about your impulse purchases not working out but yay for finding "your" collection in the end! I hope buying some of the line you love the most will help you back on track with your documenting. It's so annoying when you spend your time trying to make something work as though it were an impossible puzzle. I wasn't going to do a DD this year.... but I may have enough from prior years... and I think I still have the bug!!! Yes, you want to do another DD. Yes, yes, yes! Congratulations to you! That's a big gift. You definitely made the nice list this year. Wishing you all the fun no longer having to do the soapy business by hand. (And no longer having nail polish prematurely chip on you because of it. #nodishwasherlife) Dishember Daily, amirite? *ba dum tss* PS: I assume you've attempted to calibrate your oven for the low temperature issue? There's a creator on IG who looks at knitting on TV and assesses whether the actor has ever picked up needles before in their life. She would've judged this movie harshly >.< Link me up, por favor! I need to laugh along. Day 11 is done and took me 2 hours! I love it though and so far it is my favorite page. It's beautiful! I love that you created a little Christmas tree forest for your own to sit in wit this page. Day 12was about festive cocktails at the local apple orchard. Where do all of you live to have such fun events happening in December? I searched high and low in my nook of the world and it's only children's events or Christmas markets. Thankfully, we can get mulled wine at those but still, I'd love festive cocktails at an orchard... *bottom lip quivers*
