Story 5. http://instagram.com/p/C1DTE_Rv197 Now I am working on story 15. I want to make a wreath around the photo so I cut the photo using an older stacking QuicKutz Revolution die set and will use an even older Quixkutz 2x2 die that is the holly.

I have yet to start my project. TBH I have only scrapped twice since we got our new dog in July. He keeps me busy.
I almost scrapped today but I think I had some food poisoning (darn you Taco Bell). But I think I figured out my issue. My beef with cocoa daisy has really sullied my hobby, my passion, and certainly my December project. So I’m going to use other Xmas products from other companies. I’m hoping done distance from the beef will make this cocoa daisy items useable in the future.

Do we have an everything Cocoa Daisy thread? I couldn't find one... I remember you being their biggest fan though, so I'm sorry something went wrong to change that. Don't let one company ruin your hobby... there are so many brands out there. Plus, this hobby isn't really about the brands/products, but about the projects and stories we create... you can use products from anywhere!

We're in the home stretch!
What I'm doing now is planning out my last few stories (I finished 16 last night -- just pretty much copied what Linda did for her JOY page but I used a photo instead of words).
I have several foundation pages and embellishments I want to use this year so I'm going to start laying out what order those will go in and try to consider what stories I will still need to tell. This morning it's bright and sunny and I went around the house taking pictures of a few christmas decorations. I'm going to cut them into the shapes of that ornament paper.
Here's what I have left to use so if you have any ideas, let me know:
- 2x2 pocket page with the folded over papers (from product play) - maybe this can be for cat costumes because we will have a million photos of them. - the nutcracker thing Nolana did for Prep day (I cut those shapes out of pattern paper with my silhouette and I really like it). Probably this will just house a number and maybe some journaling and be an overlay for a full page photo. -the Paige Evans most gorgeous acetate. This goes well with the number 19 I have from the Elle's Studio set that I put on a silver edge round tag -the Paige Evans stitched trees. (I'm going to adhere these to the flap of a foldover page I got from Felicity Jane (or make a new one out of pattern paper or a color, depending on the photo/story). -plastic nutcracker (hopefully Ali will use this soon so I can steal her idea) -that filler page I made with the strips in a wreath shape with the santa on it -a number 20 I cut out of vellum. So story 20 needs to work with that. -I made a file that I have been adding my Christmas movie watching to. On the back will be a VHS tape image I'll print out. The colors are too bright and I need to change the red but that will be an easy one to pop in.
I think that's it.
We had a beautiful snow the other day and I got a cool photo out the window. I think that will make a nice story.
I also really want to take a horizontal photo and spread it out over two pages. I just love how that looks and I haven't done that yet this year.
I like this part of the challenge -- making everything work, deciding what I won't use, choosing which stories are the most important.

blemon I would use the vellum 20 for the snow photo. You could even alter it with snow dots or snowflakes or something.

How is A Not So Royal Christmas? I'm not usually too into those royal movies. I like regular people. That’s the one with Will Kemp, right? It was OK. He’s only pretending to be royal so it’s more of a fish out of water story. I didn’t watch it closely but unless you really hate royal stuff or the actors I’d say give it a shot. I much prefer regular people pretending to be royal than royal people pretending to be regular.

Thanks. I'm going to watch some trailers for the ones I haven't watched yet, and read some other reviews. And as long as there are no time traveling knights, I'm usually ok with it. They're just not my favorite tropes. Friends and Family (the last Hallmark on the pdf) was incredible. I watched it last night. Super cute. I love how Hallmark is all like, we're gay now and we're proud of it. No tragic backstories, making fun of some stereotypes but nothing over the top. Here's what I haven't seen so if you have reviews, please share: Magic in Mistletoe The Secret Gift of Christmas Christmas on Cherry Lane Christmas with a Kiss I liked Sealed with a Kiss and will watch Biltmore tonight. On Lifetime I LOVED Christmas Plus One. I don't know if I mentioned that before but it's one of the good ones this year. The kid and I started Yes, Chef on Lifetime and we're digging it. There are some other new Lifetime movies that I'm not sure I'll watch but they've been saved: The 80s divas (I read they missed the mark) Christmas Chalet (I just don't care for Terry Hatcher) Laughing All the Way Mistletoe Match The Holiday Proposal Plan A Christmas Intern Merry Magic Christmas. There is one about a cowboy (I can't with the faux country so I'll pass) and Mom's Christmas Boyfriend (definitely will not watch it if they actually use the word precocious to describe the kid. I don't care for other people's children and child acting that's just cutesy). If you feel that any of these are must-see's, spill. Otherwise, I have more than enough to get me to Christmas and then we're turning Disney+ back on and watching Star Wars. We finally finished the Office and Season 9 is a doozy. So so good. I'm turning off Peacock today.

At lunch I've been watching scrapbooking videos. Today I watched Linda's video on DD pages 6-9 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IB1f5Q-7c0). She said, "Not every page has to be your favorite."
That's a good one.
Remember that when you go through your album 5 years from now, you will not see that little mistake or that something is boring. You are going to love it. The whole is the sum of its parts.

I completely agree with this. Typically I have a handful of pages that are just not my favourite but when I flip back through my completed albums those pages don't typically stand out as being especially terrible.

I've made some progress on my album this last week. I've got five days complete and another three days with photos printed and/or papers/cards in pockets. I've been keeping up with my notes for each day and have a rough plan of stories I want to include with some of those allocated to specific days. Work has been busy this month but today is my last day for the year so I'm hopeful I can take some time for me and get a little more done before family start arriving on Saturday.

I've been trying to login for hours to ProBoards from my laptop to no avail. Upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. Ugh. I've tried several quick fixes on my side like deactivate my firewall but no success so far. And Tapatalk isn't quite my jam to post embedded things.
As soon as I'm able to get back on, I'll be adding prompts, replies and other nonsense to this thread. 🦌✨🌲

Hoping to work on day 10 today as well as days 19 and 20. Day 10 is about my new Snoopy plush, day 19 is Cabazon Dinos, and day 20 is lights drive around town.
Today's story will be dd building her gingerbread house (allergy friendly!) and tomorrow's will be about the cut out cookies.
Day/story 23 will be our outdoor lights.
Day/story 24 is Christmas Eve at my parents house.
And of course day/story 25 is Christmas day.
Story 25 will be front and back.

Today was my first day off (taking a week over Christmas). I finally was able to work in my dd and plan out all the stories and see what kinds of pics I need, if I had days to fill etc. it was so nice to work on it. I’ve just been busy with work and then after work I’m too exhausted to do anything really.
I know I’ll be getting various scrappy things for Christmas gifts- including a sewing machine- so it will be even more fun to work on pages after Christmas. I had ordered some photos from persnickety prints in some larger sizes- I’m am loving those additions to my album. I’ll do another order of some other prints at the end of December, too.
Todays story was “currently” - a variety of things I was doing today including baking, planning, wrapping, scrapping
Tomorrow’s story will be dd1’s 30th birthday.
The 23rd’s story is our Christmas game tournament story (it spreads out from 22-25 but the story is the 23rd.
I do the usual Christmas Eve/Christmas day stories and I also do the 26th to round it out.

I took a year off because my products were piling up, and I've been working through them. I am now subscribed to the Journaling Kit, which will be perfect for my planner since the products are flat. The ordering process has changed, and subscriptions are month-to-month. You can now skip months, which we could never do before. The quality of the stamps is great. Not sure if I will subscribe to any of the scrapbooking products, but I may pick some up here and there. I wish they offered digital options the way AE does.

More movie reviews:
Yes, Chef Christmas (Lifetime) was super good. We both really enjoyed it.
I also watched My Christmas Guide (Lifetime). Great movie.
Finally, Magic In Mistletoe was the quintessential Hallmark Holiday Movie. Cheesey, christmasy, everything you want in a Hallmark movie: predictable plot, great chemistry between the leads, a small Christmas town, all of it. Highly recommend.
And I got a lot done on my December Daily today. I'll post some pics to Instagram tonight. I already posted a completed Day 6 (ephemera page), and another day.

Last night my (adult) girls climbed on my bed to talk after all the festivities of our day. I showed them my dd from last year which they’d never seen and it was the first year I’d done it. They loved it and we had fun remembering last December. As they were flipping through and reading the stories and oohing and ahhing over it I was like THIS is why I’m doing it (besides all the fun I have making it).

Coming into the home stretch. I will be working on my last days (18, 19, 22, 24, 25) Tuesday and Wednesday.
I enjoyed this year's DD and how I set it up (25 stories that didn't have to be scrapped to the exact day). I am however ready to be done with Christmas items lol. Looking forward to getting back to regular pocket scrap pages.
