I'm making decent progress on my photo book Is anyone else still going? I’m still here plodding away - I had some ideas for a page that were a bit more labour intensive, and hubby surprised us with two days in the city and at the beach late in December which I want to include so I had some late additions to my album (I go to the 31st). Almost done, I have about five days or stories to go, then I’ll have to add journaling (I batch process) then I’ll be done.

I'm still working on mine very very slowly. As long as I finish before next Dec Daily, I'll call it a win.

I'm making decent progress on my photo book Is anyone else still going? I have the photos printed and in their pockets and am slowly getting the journaling and so forth completed for each page. I think I've done about a third.

All pages have been sketched out, photos ordered and delivered. Started assembling last night. I went through about 7 iterations of my title page, only to whip up something completely new when I started on the album. Guess I don't need to stress about that so much. Finished title page, large first photo, intentions and spent the rest of the night stamping 25 peek a boo windows for my table of contents (or sorts) page. I just love this project.

I think I only have the day we opened presents at home left to do. I've done a little insert for Santa gifts and used the ornament paper for stockings (still have to do the journaling though). Realistically I just need to concentrate on going through my photos, deciding which ones I may want to use and go from there.

Spent the morning batch printing my journaling and pictures for the last few pages… she’s going to be a chunky beast but I refuse to get two albums. Not all of the pages are my favourite but they all tell a story and that’s enough for me!

2023 is done! Another chunky one but just barely fits in one album. I did it all this year. I foiled! I Minc-ed! I used my stash! I used my Silhouette! I was tremendously inspired by Jennie Rey - her pocket from the Prep Day class sent me down a rabbit hole of foiling, using Photoshop and the Silhouette. It was very time-consuming, but, darn, did I learn a lot. I would have to say it was a huge unintended benefit of the $5 class! I'll start posting to my crafty Insta in a the next few days if you want to check it out. karinemakesstuff

Good morning - remember me?! Missing in action for so long, with builders doing major work on our house for the last seven months, I have barely been in my studio at all and the idea of digging through the dust to find my Christmas stash just didn't appeal. But with twenty Christmas journals on my shelf (I started young!) I couldn't bear the idea of missing a year and of course, in my head I was collecting all the material for a journal which just wasn't there *yet*. Whilst looking for a quick way of keeping my Project Life going - Traci Reed's dated ledger cards in Christmas colours on which I could just scribble a few words each day and stuff a photo in a nearby pocket - I came across some tags in another of her collections. I didn't really want to make a tag journal this time but I jotted down all those "currently" prompts and decided to make a simple, undated journal with a less structured record of Christmas 2023. It will be a bit chaotic and disorganised, but perhaps that's a true reflection of how it was! And so yesterday, I began...sorting a couple of photos for each prompt and happy to "work towards" (!!) making a journal of all those important little details - what we watched, who was around, what we ate and where we went. I have dropped in here from time to time to see what my peeps were up to, I've followed IGs and looked on in envy (and will look up karinec in a minute) but for the first time today, I feel as though I can claim a baby step towards the smallest achievement. Oh, and the builders are gone and the work complete...except that those of who who have been there, done that, will know what I mean when I say they keep coming back to do this or that! One day, we will regain control of our house!! (oh and as if that's not enough, in the next couple of weeks or so, our first grandchild is due...another reason to get Christmas done and out of the way, ready for the journal I can't wait to begin!!)

Without realizing it I saved just about every one of her daily posts. I have all the items for the foil quill but I’m intimidated. Maybe I’ll give it a try.

Peas I’m sooooo close to done. One page to go (designed but requires stitching so it’ll take me a hot minute) and one photo still to take (dh trying his advent calendar now he can eat a little.) From a stash of every single dd item and every single Christmas paper I owned that was mostly green spanning YEARS I have two plastic words (could stick them in but they wouldn’t serve a purpose and I love them so I’m hoarding them!), one 3x8 transparency, one large green heart diecut, two 4x6 cards and some cardstock scraps. THATS IT! 😅

A few more journaling spots to print, about 1-3 photos, and then some final embellishing. I am totally surprised by myself still wanting to scrap Christmas, but happy with how it is coming out.

It is done!! Finished last night around 8 pm. Ended up splitting it into 2 albums. It all fit in 1 but I hate how the top pages get bent when albums are super full. It was a fun album to make.
Next year I'm considering doing everything inside of page protectors to challenge myself. I have a growing stack of 3x4 and 4x6 cards, plus a ton of stamps. Keep it simpler or not. Hmm.

1(Oh no! I just spotted that I missed the deadline on this thread by nearly a month - so sorry!!) I can't believe it but I can say "It's done!!" I put the last bits together on my Christmas journal yesterday and just posted a blog about it so that next year I can say "well, at least it didn't take me as long as it did last year!" I feel as if I've been missing in action here for so long, have lost touch with the conversations and am looking forward to getting my mojo back. blog post hereI would say, "life got in the way of fun" but that would not be true - we have a new Grandson (our first Grandchild) who is gorgeous - and Grandma needs her cuddles of course. Oh, and there's the business of prepping a new travel journal as well Now I need to go and have a stern word with my Silhouette, which just did the weirdest thing and cut at a wonky angle, for no reason that I could see at all. Hmmm.

I didn’t know there was a deadline to this thread. I think it's just that there's a lot more focus on the project through Dec and Jan, and after that some people put the project away, while others continue to work on it. As long as the thread keeps getting bumped I'll happily check in and celebrate the wins with everyone who is making progress or finishing up.

I think Booty was just setting up the general expectation that the thread would be going for several months, at least into January, but it usually trails off after that. There are no deadlines in DD! Although there will be a new Christmas product sneak peek thread in a few months it’ll come on quicker than we expect! I haven’t been working on my JYC book but I just need to proof and fine tune it, add one silly story if there’s space, and upload it when blurb has a discount code for trade books. I missed the last one.

Just finished my 2023 dd 🥳 Had grand plans for the last page about the 20th anniversary of elf, ended up making a very basic vhs shaped diecut with the movie poster stuck on and a sentence of journaling. It’s done, so long dreams of an interactive layout, you were great in December but it’s March now and my album is already bursting at the seams 😝
