This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members.

Linda, I'm glad you didn't have a lot of damage from the storm. I hope the clean up will not take too long. justjac, so nice to see your happy face popping up. I know you have been doing some traveling this summer. We will be glad to have you back for the school season. I hope you have a lot of students come this year. It is starting to feel like Fall here. It cools off a lot at night but we still have some hot days, just fewer. I am always sad to see the kids go back to school. I just don't get as much time with the grandchildren.

Thanks nyleneClean up will take a while because we have over an acre and there's a ton of branches and moss and such all over it. DD and I were out there today - it's so hot and humid still we can't work too long at a time either. We've got most of the big branches piled up by the road for when the county comes by with a grapple truck...I'm guessing next week or the week after. I've already filled 2.5 trashcans with smaller branches/moss/leaves and not even made a dent.

Happy September, Pokeys... nylene, thanks for the new thread. It feels like fall here too this morning. Although summer reared it's head the last couple of days, temps are back toward "normal" for this time of year. We plan to pick the tomatoes this weekend. I hate watching the temps and the forecasts and trying to predict frost to know when to cover them: would rather have them calmly ripening in my basement. Linda I love those playful kitties on your LO. Are they part of the paper, or are they stickers? Perfect to represent your frisky feline. Glad your own home survived the storm damage, but what a mess to clean up! Do you know if anyone was injured in your area? Must have been a really scary time. I am having a quiet morning and you would think I would want to scrap, but I am feeling lazy. Dh picked up dgs this morning to take him to a pancake breakfast in the next town, but he will be dropping him off here before going back into town for his dental appointment. Dgs wants to scrap with me when he gets here. He will then hang out with Grampa this afternoon, and will be staying here overnight. His mom will be picking him up early in the morning to take him to the city to do back to school shopping and a Costco run. This will be his first sleepover here for quite awhile, but he has been planning what he will need to bring back and forth, what he can leave here. School starts next week, and the plan is to have him overnight here once per week going forward. That will give his mom some extra time to work on her studies. Waving hi to justjac, gramma, scrappyrabbit, joyfulnana, kitbop, refugeepea, shinyhappytina, knutschen, MARIBETHR, kellyr21, woodysbetty, all the Pokeys who are, or have been, part of this welcoming community. Hoping that SKETCHtember gets everyone in the mood to create. Have a great month, Pokeys!

Must have been a really scary time. the playful kitties are part of the PP - I picked it up some years ago when ACMoore was going out of business so glad to finally use it. I haven't heard of any injuries locally - hopefully not. How fun that you'll have your grandson overnight regularly - enjoy

Linda, those kittens are so cute on your project. I was sure you had cut them out. I love the black and white color scheme for your black and white kitty. Cute page. Best wishes are you pick up all the debris left by the storm. grammadee, it sounds like your DGS has his schedule all figured out. When does he start back to school. I hope he has a wonderful teacher and makes some good friends. Alex is pleased with his teacher and she told Em that she knew Alex and knew he was a handful and knows they will be good friends. So far, he is very happy at school. I hope it continues all year.

Happy September Pokeys! Linda - wonderful paper cats, love how they give real movement to your page! My oldest wildest kitty just spent 3 days away from home and had us a little scared, only to come wandering in with a casual "'sup?" this morning. My youngest chronically ill kitty is definitely "iller" than usual right now and will need some vet attention this week. Of course he does this on a long weekend... I'm just trying to take deep breaths. DD Katie moved home today for the school year (which is reverse of how it should be! oh well!) so if you hear of a sink hole opening up in Ontario it's probably the weight of my poor wee housie falling into the ground! Hopefully my Mom's house sells soon and then we can start househunting for real. Very much enjoying scrapbooking right now EXCEPT that my chronic neck is in a major flare up and sitting is the worst - so computer and scrapping and reading and TV and stupid phone games. Everything I relax with!

kitbop , I am glad your kitty decided to mosey back home! Hope the other one can get some help from the vet. I didn't realize you had listed your mother's house yet. I hope it sells so that you can move on...literally. Your neck sounds like my back right now. I hope that it will cooperate for you to do some scrapping and relaxing. I am looking forward to doing some scrapping this month. I have been wearing my brace for 2 hours a day, mostly when I am scrapping or standing to fix meals. I really think time will help, but may look into having a block. Linda , do you have any fun Labor Day plans? My big plan is to try out my new mop on my kitchen floor. I also need to dust clear through the house. I was getting pretty good movement in my finger and then did a silly thing without thinking. I was talking to DH and said something happened "lickety-split" and snapped my fingers. OWWWW. The middle finger snapped down hard on the exact broken bone and I think all my exercising was undone. For two days I couldn't move it and now I am starting over on the movement. Sometimes I do the dumbest things! Off to do some scrapping before floor scrubbing! Have a great Labor Day!

This is for Sketch 1. With This Ring That's all I have done so far this month. I was on an online crop with msliz and could see a jar of paper strips behind her. I asked about them and she told me they were branding strips and she pulls them out to use all the time. I stole her idea and started my own jar, adding any strip smaller than 2 inches. All of my strips on this layout are from my jar. So, thanks, msliz for the great idea.

nylene - what a pretty take on the sketch - love the monochromatic layout ((((Hugs))) I hope the finger feels much better again soon. No plans for today really - just scrapping - hoping to hop on the crop in a bit. I'll do hamburgers tonight with homemade coleslaw from my Granny's recipe and watermelon.

Happy September! Linda I'm going to echo everyone about that cat paper! It's so cool, I was hoping they were dies so I could get a set lol. Sorry about all the clean up you have to do. I don't blame you for scrapping instead. grammadee I just love that Mikey likes to scrap with you, and plans his time at the farm. That's so cute. I hope the school year goes well for him. nylene, I'm not sure why, but I have never had the impression that Alex is a handful. I know he's very intelligent. I'm so glad he has a good teacher! Your layout is beautiful! I love that idea too! Sounds like your finger was feeling better, I hope you aren't starting completely back at square one and the movement comes back quickly! kitbop, ((((hugs))))) I'm glad the one kitty came home, and I hope the ill one isn't too serious. Was Katie moving home planned? Good vibes for your mom's house selling soon! Well, my weekend turned out exactly how I did not have it planned in my head lol. I snuck in a little scrapping this morning, but otherwise, I've had Rudy and the boys here off and on all weekend. Rudy and I Had our first sleepover in quite awhile. Watched Super Mario Bros. It was cute lol. Rudy's mom text me about a dozen pictures of Rudy with his brother, I'm so happy to have those! Waving Hi to everyone and hope you had a good weekend!

Good Monday evening, Pokeys. Ouch nylene. That is why they tell us to wear braces, so we can't make those sudden moves that knock healing back. Hope it gets better soon. There is love for your wedding page in the Gallery. So glad the cat came back, kitbop. When Charley went walkabout in the middle of winter I was sure she was gone forever, but somehow she made it back here. Hope the sicky is feeling better. I think you will have a blast scrapping those pic's of Rudy with his baby brother, joyfulnana. So cool that he had a sleepover with Nana. Mikey stayed here Friday night. This is his first week of school, so dd is taking him into the school in the morning. He is pretty worried about his new school. Wednesday dd is thinking he will be walking to school on his own. His dayhome provider will be picking him up along with her granddaughter after school. Then Friday I will pick him up after school and he will stay here at the farm overnight again. Since they moved to town he has not slept here til last week. I think Grampa was really missing their early morning breakfasts, cuz he wanted me to stock up on blueberry waffles and honey nut Cheerios. Linda you had a super scrappy weekend, both in pages created and time with the Peas on line. I was able to join the crop on Saturday for a bit, and have managed a couple of LO's. Loving having different sketches to look at every day. Got to drop in and chat in the crop on Saturday for a bit. It was great to see scrappyrabbit there! What did you do on the long weekend, kellyr21? Was there any damage in your area from Hillary? We had a busy weekend harvesting the garden. Cool temps make me nervous that we will get a frost. Yesterday I shredded up a bunch of zucchini that dgs and I picked on Friday. Then dd and dgs came to help pick tomatoes. This time of the year we pick them green and let them ripen in a cool dark room. They hauled them down into the basement. Today I needed to layer them in boxes in the cold room so they are easier to check for ripened and/or rotten ones. And then I picked all the corn that is ready. Tomorrow I need to go to town for 10% Tuesday. And this week I need to bake a couple of zucchini cakes and make a big batch of corn chowder to freeze. Waving hello to all the Pokeys!

Oh and gramma and Linda, I was cleaning my scrap room this morning. Going through photos and making list of pages I could scrap. Started worrying about a sample for September Donna challenge (Road Trip). Remembered that there was a photo in our family reunion book from 2006. Here is my dad with his two brothers and his mother. No mention of the flat tires in the newspaper blurb, but we remember them lol. So I guess I should get on that page next…

joyfulnana - sounds like lots of memory making this weekend for you - glad you got a little scrappy time as well. How nice to have a sleepover with Rudy - and the pictures from his mum will be fun to scrap grammadee -I hope Mikey's first day of school goes smoothly...and you had a sleepover also! You've been busy with harvesting and preserving. I LOVE that newspaper clipping! Yes - a busy scrappy weekend. We didn't have any family plans so I was able to hop on the online crops for a bit each day! Also enjoying the daily sketches! DD16 went back to school today - first day back in over a week and the first day with the new metal detectors...she wasn't impressed...apparently they searched their bags and didn't put stuff back in the right spots. Not sure how much scrappy time I'll get this week. I have a long to-do list today...and a headache Tomorrow I have a dr appointment and Thursday is my endoscopy. I'm going to try and at least keep up with sketches.

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to you gals! We had a relaxing weekend and it has been a slow week for me so far. My crafting mojo is recharging so I am glad to see the Sketchtember ideas. Thanks grammadee and all of you that are hosting it. I gotta check out today's sketch. nylene - What wonderful layouts of the wedding you posted. Your family is really growing up. Hope your finger is back on track this week. Take it easy! grammadee - How cool that your family was featured in the paper. What a beautiful keepsake! You have been busy gardening. Seems like we were just talking about your garden and now it is Fall. This year is going so fast. Left you some cheering at the gallery. Your pages are so bright and colorful! Love it! Oh,no damage from the storm in our area. Just a few broken tree limbs. linda -Glad you all are ok from the hurricane storm. Hope you are feeling better with your headache and dr. appts. Take care Linda! kitbop - What an adventurous cat you have. How is Poppy doing these days? joyfulnana - Has your area cooled off yet? We had some cooler day and I ready for it to be cooler everyday! LOL! Football starts tomorrow with your Chiefs! Enjoy!

Happy Thursday! gramma it's so good to see you posting in the team thread. Are you getting settled in the new house? grammadee that newspaper article is so cool! I hope Mikey had a good first day and that he does well. It's so sweet that grandpa has been missing his time with him. nylene your wedding pages are beautiful! I need to check out the gallery. It's been so long since I've had scrappy mojo that I haven't even looked, and yet looking through the gallery or sharing thread is so inspiring! kellyr21 we cooled off really nicely for about a week and then the heat was back. We are still high 80's - low 90's most days. Linda sending good vibes for the Dr. today. Woot woot! Football is back tonight! I'm so excited about that lol. But I do think the NFL has gone so all in on the Chiefs that everyone is going to get even sicker of hearing about them lol. I've got 2 more Sketchtember samples to get done. I think I'll work on that in the little moments of my work day when I need a little break, instead of trying to find a big chunk of time. I've been trying to knit in the evening but Abby makes that hard. She wants to be in my lap and have all the attention lol. Well, I need to get ready for work, have a great day! kitbop - are you watching Only Murders? I wasn't sure about this season, and it's my favorite so far!

Happy Thursday, Pokeys! Glad to hear your mojo is recharging, kellyr21. Hope you can post some takes on the SKETCHtember challenges. Sounds like a lovely weekend. Glad you were not affected by the storm. joyfulnana, I have a photo somewhere of dd as a teen trying to learn knitting and her big cat (who was also white) with his huge paw reaching out to the yarn. I am envisioning you like that with Abby LOL. It is supposed to be warming up this weekend here, too. Monday night we had FROST, and I have been planning all the fall comfort foods now that I can use the oven again, but maybe not so fast... Loving seeing your pages popping up, nylene. Hoping your hands continue to heal. I have not been taking on as many of the sketches as I want to since I have not yet printed many photos since the end of July. I have printed a couple at home, but I really prefer to have the professionally printed ones. Might print that newspaper clipping and work on my road trip page today. must check out the single page sketches... Sending positive vibes to you, Linda, for your appointment today. Did you need to do diet prep for this one? Maybe if you changed your diet that may explain your headache. You have not had a fun week. (((((HUBS))))) Mikey had a great first day of school. He came home saying he liked the new school and was eager to head back. Had a bit of a dust up in the playground with some older kids (junior high) after school, but dd was able to help him resolve it and he was feeling confident heading back to school the next day. I am enjoying receiving back-to-school pic's. So far I have pic's from three of the four families. Hopefully I will have them all by the time I am in town to print. It is dark and gloomy today. I need to photograph the LO I put together yesterday for SKETCHtember #5 plus my sample for tomorrow. Hoping the sun comes out SOMETIME...

I have made 6 of the pop bottle cards. Seems like I always need a quick b-day card. grammadee, your hearty foods sound wonderful. I am ready to start making hearty soups again as the weather gets cool. I love your newspaper article. What a treasure. How great that Mikey had a great first day. That first day is so important. Love it! I am enjoying your Sketchtember pages. You are fast! Linda, hope your procedure went well today. I hope you are resting. I am jealous of your plum jam. You will love it this winter. kellyr21, thank you for your nice comments on my pages. It has been fun to get back to scrapping. I hope you will have some time this month to get crafty. Glad you had a nice long weekend and not much storm damage in your area. joyfulnana, thanks for being a hostess for Sketchtember. I hope you get a chance to work on some of the other sketches. It's nice to see you posting and enjoying football again. You and kellyr21 can compare teams. I remember that scrapincin loved this time of year as the football games started up too. scrappyrabbit, I'm sorry I missed the online crops over the weekend. I would have loved to meet you! I will be running DH around to get parts to repair one of his machines today. I hope we can find the parts he needs. Later I hope to do more scrapping.

joyfulnanaAre you getting settled in the new house? I'm in. The main furniture is in. My craft room is in but not totally organized. And I have to big tubs to empty and put away still. I'm sure they are full of treasures. Perimeter fence is mostly done around the back of the house but it can't be finished until the garage is built. Don't ever deal with Tuff Shed - long story. Porch and cover will start at the end of next week. Then raised planters will go in. Then a small grassy area. Finally a white picket fence around the perimeter of the front. Then a little old lady will be sittin' on the porch in her rocker. I've tried to get back to some scrapping but my hand gets really tired and I don't have much strength or grip. But it gets better every day. Are "we" watching football tonight?

Thank you - appointment went smoothly and I'll get the biopsy results in October but the main thing they were checking was all good. grammadee - no diet prep this time except fasting from midnight and skipping last night and this morning's pills. I haven't been sleeping well recently and I think the headache is from that. Abby sounds like a great companion joyfulnanagrammadee - I'm so glad Mikey's school year is off to such a good start! I hope that continues nylene - such lovely cards - the soda bottles are great and the flower one is just beautiful! How are your hand and back doing? gramma - good to see you posting again. Linda - you sound productive! I'm off as I work the weekend and have done a load of laundry and some putzing in the garden. Unfortunately, my tomato harvest is largely a bust: I appear to have tomato hornworms this year and any tomato that starts to turn red they chomp into. But I can't harvest them completely green either DH and I went out to lunch when he got home from work. It's a favourite small local joint and their soup this week is cream of tomato and roasted garlic with lots of fresh mozza on top. It was TDF and now I need to hunt down a recipe. gramma - I'm sure it's a battle to feel "into" crafting right now, between major life changes and a sore/weak hand! I hope it feels more natural to you over then next few months. grammadee - where do you get photos printed? I still haven't ventured out there since costco closed but I prefer lab quality to home printed honestly. I may have to resign myself to the price of persnickity prints...wait for a sale... Of course, I still need to get the photos prepared for printing so I can take advantage of a sale! joyfulnana - "only murders" is my current treadmill show but I'm going thru them way too fast. Love this show! OMG, the "white room" almost made me fall off the treadmill twice because I wasn't prepared for the gut laugh/doubling over when Steve Martin came back from the white room with no pants and the baby dolls... (OK, hopefully you are that far along... no spoilers intended)

kitbop - thank you - I'm trying to. My routine has been all off lately with the unexpected days off school for DD and the storm and medical stuff so I'm trying to get caught up and everything. I'm sorry about your tomatoes - that's disappointing I'm sure. I didn't end up putting in a garden this year and as hot as it has been, I'm glad I didn't as it probably wouldn't have done well. If you find a recipe for that soup...please share - it sounds delicious!
