I've already failed at a new technique (using markers and a waterbrush to try and stamp/paint an image) and thrown it in the shredder so I can't claim sharing points for it, lol. And I just made my own red cardstock with ink and water spritzing and learned some things about the physics of water droplets in white kitchens. I also learned that a Magic Eraser will clean watery red CP ink off white grout, thank goodness! sounds messy but fun. Glad the Magic eraser was there for the rescue! I really should learn to do this kind of thing in the basement or with proper spill/overspray precautions. This is why I am better off sticking to patterned paper and leaving the mixed media to other people. Hopefully the result will be worth it!

joblackford, those Christmas cards are beautiful. Love all the different ways you filled those spaces. grammadee love all the movement on your pages. Those shots from barrel races are so cool. Thankyou. This was a local rodeo, and although they attract quite a crowd, family is able to get right down beside the arena. I put my camera in Sports mode, aimed it through the rails at the gate, and followed her ride with my view finder. I was about ten feet from the one barrel.

Seven more Noel cards! I'm experimenting with fancy die cuts inside the O now, and adding in some different colors. The snowy black background is a patterned paper panel freebie from Honey Bee Stamps. I like it! http://instagram.com/p/Cw7-drnLTUq

joblackford , I love all the different looks you are getting with that same die set! Thank you. I am too! And I've mostly stuck to traditional colors so far. I've made about 40 cards with this die so far without getting bored and I haven't even started cutting it up to go on one line yet.

Linda, your pic's are so cute. Can't believe you TOOK that bathroom pic, but good for you taking it and scrapping it! Love all the different colour combo's and those cute little ladybugs. craftymom101 that pumpkin page is STUNNING! Love how you filled that cut file with all the different patterns. The pumpkin photos are great and I love the diecut pumpkins/gourds, too. We picked a dozen pumpkins last week, but sadly they were pretty small. They usually start filling out about the first of September, but when Jack Frost got their leaves they had to come out of the garden. They are now ripening in our garage.

My local SU demonstrator has recently restarted up (post-Covid) hosting other crafting classes. Yesterday, I attended a two-hour "Beach Walk Medallion" shadowbox class by The Sea and Me Designs. Here's my project: (Sorry for the delay -- ran into odd PostImage issues).

I don't know how I missed your gorgeous shadowbox, Shakti, so elegant. Did you make this for yourself or as a gift? Your LO is really pretty, Linda, as are the dresses you made for your girls! Sweet memories you are scrapping.

Not sure, grammadee. I gave one of the artworks the instructor makes and sells to my mom for Christmas last year. Mostly I made it to take the class and spend time crafting with others!

This is a page kit from Scrapbook Generations. It was designed for 12x12 pages so I had to adapt a little to fit my 8.5x11 pages. Loads of fussy cutting but I love how it turned out

Linda, you were on fire today! Love the photos of your family from earlier years. Great use of colours and patterns to complement the pic's. So many little extras without taking away from the clean lines: cascading flowers, cute farm animals, torn edges, cute little birds. My favourite photo is that little face on the horse page. My favourite page is the one with all the fussy cut yellow flowers.

I posted these in the October Daily thread already. The stamps are by a local WA state company, Sweet November Stamps. (She also does digital images.) I'm practicing scene stamping and coloring, which I'm not good at, trying to work with the Tombow markers I have. I wasn't thrilled with my first try, but I'll send it to someone anyway, maybe a kiddo. First try by jo.blackford, on Flickr The second try was better, especially when I went back and added some whiskers on Midnight the cat. I guess I need to add them to the first card too! I realized I have some big gaps in my greens, but next time I might try using greys for the background, or ink blending, or paper piecing. I'm also waiting on the TH moon stencils to come back in stock but I was pretty happy with my second try at creating my own moon. Whiskers added by jo.blackford, on Flickr
